Status of work to fix Snow Leopard/HP printer problems when plugged in USB airport

An analysis of this forum reveals that it is a problem spanning many printers. Can anyone provide an update on how it's going between Apple and HP to solve this issue?

I can confirm that the above method of the Mac HP architect works for me with a few differences.

His position is at: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=10295130#10295130

Note I have a P1505 connected to an Airport Express USB 'g' and my network is managed by a station Airport Extreme Base "n". When I did my port scan I found the port 'hp-pdl-datastr 9100.

Following the instructions for using the HP Jetdirect - Socket address of my printer looked like this: "HP - LaserJet.local:9100.

The URL appears in the title of the info from the printer is now "URL: socket://HP-LaserJet.local:9100 / '.

My P1505 is again wireless printing! It will probably work for the P1006 P1005 as well.

  • ProCS4 flash does not work on Snow leopard?

Whenever I try to open any type of file in Flash CS4 (version 10.0.2), it crashes instantly, and I get the error message "Flash has quit unexpectedly.

This problem has only started happening since I've recently updated my new macbook pro to Snow Leopard (mac os x 10.6.1).

All CS4 programs will work perfectly,

Any advice on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance,

    Tim

I guess that your Flash CS4 was working fine before the upgrade to Snow Leopard...

However, Flash CS4 works fine on Snow Leopard, many users of Snow Leopard.

See, if the launch of a new user with administrator privileges account makes a difference...

You may even try to uninstall Flash CS4 completely in the current account and installation of a new account if the above does not work...

  • NAT with Snow Leopard issue

For the poster who will say "Google is your friend", no it is not, or I wouldn't be here.

I tried for a while now to solve the only problem I have with Snow Leopard Server.

MySql has fallen lion and, apparently, no one knows how to use postgrl so I installed MySql and plundered with her for a few hours to get this working.  There were various other issues with Lion.  Finally, I went to Yosemite.  Hey Apple, where is the GUI?  Then at el Capitan and finally tried Sierra (no server app at all yet).

For me, each 'step-up' taking things and running weaker than the last.

Welcome to Snow Leopard.  I'll stick with it for a while to come.

The only problem I have with Snow Leopard, it's that when it restarts, the NAT will not start upward.  Other than that, it does a magnificent job to maintain my home network.  I searched high and low for an answer without success.  A few posters who have addressed this problem specifically here never got a response.

As this seems to be about three years or more, since this question was asked and it seems that some have migrated to the SLS, I was wondering if anyone has found a solution.

As it is now, as soon as there is a need to reboot, I just disable the NAT service, restart and turn it back on.  In the case of a failure of current (longer than the inverter can maintain) or just a random crash, I have to kill the firewall and NAT then the configuration of the gateway of new service that requires fixing the various omissions and errors and I'm good to go again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • HP Photosmart C4580 Wireless problem - Snow Leopard

    Hello

My HP Photosmart C4580 has worked for wireless (albeit a bit slowly) until I made 2 changes:

    (a) I changed my router SSID (network name) and password

    (b) I have upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard

At first I tried to use the HP configuration utility to reconfigure the network my printer wireless.  It doesn't not work - he told me that my printer to be connected via USB, while he was already.  I tried different things and ended up reset wireless to the printer (using the printer menu).

Then, in the HP that I read that HP utilities do not work with Snow Leopard help files.  But the instructions for wireless network with my snow leopard printer did not work.  I could install my printer via USB (and downloaded driver), but it does not appear on the list without wire.  I couldn't find a way to configure wireless with USB connection, as I already had when I initially set up my printer with Leopard.

Video instructions to set up wireless for Mac (http://h30434.www3.hp.com/psg/board/message?board.id=Macintosh&thread.id=231) seemed promising, because it would finally give me a chance to give my printer on my network information.  Wireless Network Test report gives the network name (SSID hpsetup) (since I have reset the settings), that I found promising, although only under IP address, he said 'not applicable' (and obviously fails it test under 'Network name found' failed-it).  However, my macbook can't take any hpsetup network and on the network Page Configuration I printed the network status is 'offline', Active connection Type is None, URL is 0.0.0.0.  Apparently my printer cannot connect to this network hpsetup.

I have spent a few days on this and I am completely at a loss to know what to do.  Can someone please advise?  Thank you very much.

OK, we can solve the problem.

First you uninstall the 10.5 HP software before installing 10.6?  If this isn't the case, we might as well do it now.

Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP
    Click on continue
Highlight your device in the left pane
Hold down the Ctrl and Opt, as well as Apple and click on uninstall
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software. (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled, this is why we do not run this thing all the time)
    Click on continue
    Let the cleaner it is.

Then, remove the printer in System Preferences, Print & Fax.

After that, go to hp.com and download the 10.6 complete package

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=OJ-74785-1&LC=en&DLC=en&cc=us&lang=en&OS=219&product=3418707

Having attached to the C4580 usb cable and select Wireless when you can.  Follow the rest by.

I noticed problems where people have "special" characters in their password wireless.  If it fails, and you have no alphabetic characters or digital, you will need to go through the process of hpsetup ad hoc, as detailed in the video you mentioned.

  • Invisible text in Flash Player Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard

Since upgrading to Snow Leopard, I had problems with invisible text in Safari and Firefox on pages that use Flash Player.

    Here's what I know:

They are always in Flash, but not all of the text is invisible.
I created a new user account, and there is no problem.
I use the latest version of Flash.
I installed all the updates that are available from Apple.
Text does not appear in Firefox or Safari, so it is not only a problem of Safari, but seems to be a problem with Flash.

Here's what I did to try to resolve the problem:

Book fonts used to check all the fonts and to remove duplicate fonts installed by Snow Leopard.
Font book allows to disable the user fonts, since there were no problems with the other user account.
    Reinstalled Flash (several times).

Used the Flash uninstall program and then reinstalled.
Fix the permissions on the disk.
You discover a problem with iWork, so I reinstalled iWork (although I was not having a problem here).

Here is a screenshot.  It is the page Google stock. The small boxes along the lower right part of the chart are supposed to have letters that correspond to the links to the right of the graph. These appear in the other user account, but not in Safari or FireFox.

    <img src="http://homepage.mac.com/abramr/FlashInvisibleFonts.png"/>

So, now what? Is there a plist or something I can delete to Adobe Flash Player? If there is a problem with a different user account, what should I do? Can I somehow easily move all my stuff (documents, photos, music, etc.) to the new user account and then delete the old root user account?

Thanks for any help you can give me.
    Rob

I was able to solve the problem in my case.  I removed the fonts in the following folder:

~/Library/fonts (where ~ is your username)

RELOADED Safari and it worked fine.  I think that the fonts in the user folder were in conflict with fonts in the main folder in the upper part of the repertoire of the library.

  • Process of return to Snow Leopard of El Capitan

I have an iMac from the beginning of 2008.  I was using Snow Leopard successfully.  Last weekend, I've upgraded to El Capitan.  During the conversion, I lost all my email history.  I had saved Snow Leopard in Time Machine just before the upgrade.  I want to find a process documented back to Snow Leopard (I have the dicc) and time using Time Machine to reinstall the emails.  I tried to reinstall the e-mails with the help of El Capitan, but it does not work.  Did Snow Leopard work - El Capitan runs very slowly with my chip set.  Any help would be appreciated.

Here's what you need to do:

    Snow Leopard erase and install

Remember to only back up your files.

    1. Insert the Snow Leopard DVD in the optical drive and restart the computer.
    2. Immediately after hearing the chime hold down the C key.
    3. Release the button when the Apple logo appears and wait for loading to complete.
    4. After the installer loads, choose your language and click on the continue button. When the menu bar appears select utility drive in the Utilities menu.  After disk utility charges select the entry out-bumpy in the list aside (mfgr. size ID and disc drive.)  In the right side of the disk utility window, click the Partition tab.  Set the number of partitions of one (1) in the menu dropdown. Click the Options button and select GUID, click on OK, the value of the Mac OS Extended journaled format type. Finally, click on the apply button.
    5. Once the format is complete, quit disk utility.  Continue with the installation of OS X and follow the directions.
    6. Once installation is complete, the computer will restart in the installation wizard. After completing the Setup Wizard, you will use a new installation of Snow Leopard. Open the software update and install updates recommended.
    7. If you plan to sell or to give to your remote computer, then proceed as follows: once you reformat your hard disk and reinstall Snow Leopard, the computer restarts with a welcome screen. To leave the Mac in a State OOTB (Out Of The Box), do not continue with the Setup program. Instead, press the command and Q keys to stop the computer. The installation wizard will guide you the new owner through the installation procedure, after that it turns on the computer.
    8. Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 v1.1 updated Combo. If necessary. It is not necessary if you are selling or giving your computer away.
  • MacBook (13-inch aluminum, Late 2008) cannot install snow leopard

So I'll try to fix computer for my mother, it's a MacBook (13-inch aluminum, Late 2008).  He was running very slowly so I did a factory of resets and tried to install a copy of snow leopard on it.  When I try to install it on my hard drive it says "Mac OS X does not have this disc."  The symbol for the hard drive has a yellow! sign on it (if it matters).

    (1) my question is what can I do to install the OS on this?

Mavericks - OS would not install, I tried this right after the factory restore.

-Unfortunately I can't eject the disc either-

    (2) that it has to do with my drive hard and how can I test that?

Whence it the Snow Leopard disc? You must use a copy of Snow Leopard retail. You can buy Snow Leopard at the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (US). The price is $ 19.99 plus tax. You will receive a physical media by mail after placing your order.

    Snow Leopard erase and install

    1. Insert the Snow Leopard DVD in the optical drive and restart the computer.
    2. Immediately after hearing the chime hold down the C key.

  • Newer systems as beautiful as Snow Leopard?

My HP printer has been replaced under warranty.  It wouldn't work with my Snow Leopard operating system.  I had used the OS 10.6 since 2009.  In order to get functions limited to work with my iMac, I had to get a third-party driver.  HP technicians told me that if I am a Lion of the mountains or of the Mavericks, and then the printer will work.  I upgraded to Mountain Lion this month and just got my iMac back on March 10.

My first impression of Mountain Lion, is that, in my view, that designers could not make up their minds that they were designing for a smartphone, tablet or desktop computer.  It doesn't impress me at all.  At least my printer works fully with the OS now.  But, there are so many things that I don't like and I've been a Mac user since I had my first Macintosh computer which was a Macintosh LC.

I can do to help give the look and feel of Snow Leopard Mountain Lion without actually going back to Snow Leopard?

If this is not possible, can someone tell me if Apple brought all the qualities of Snow Leopard back to one of the more recent than the Cougar systems?

My computer went from OS to OS 10.8.5 10.6.8.  I was happy with OS 10.6.8.  I am not happy with OS 10.8.5.

The two OS X 10.8 and 10.9 (is no longer available, at all) have things like launch pad and other things that combine ideas of iOS with OS X.

It's the way it is and cannot be changed.

If you don't like the changes in OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, you will be more disappointed by OS X 10.10 OS X 10.11 El Capitan and Yosemite (also abandoned).

While functionally, EL Capitan has a lot more features and is a better OS X Yosemite, visually, it's a mess with brighly color icons looking for dishes that make the BONE resembles the computer of a young child.

The worst interface still looks against a real world screen background image.

OS X interface looking for anything just horrible!

That said, you had / have an option to install your new OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion on a hard drive external and only boot to it when you need to use the new printer. You could have kept OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard on your internal Mac hard drive and continue to use it and all applications.

    That's what I do.

I have several copies of versions of Mac OS X 10.6.8 10.8.5, 10.9.5 and 10.11 on external hard drives and still use OS X 10.6.8 as my main OS X version.

You're right about this version of OS X being that the best version of OS X Apple ever designed!

However, I had to stop using the version of Safari for OS X 10.6.8 Web browser because it is old and is no longer being updated and no security updates were issued for her over the years.

I use the version of compatible OS X 10.6.8 recent of Mozilla Firefox, which is still current, updated and supported on OS X Snow Leopard.

  • DeskJet D2660 on Snow Leopard?

    Hello

Im trying to install a Deskjet D2660 on a MacBook running Mac OS x 10.6 (Snow Leopard), the printer installs and is recognized by the machine even tell you that the printer door has been opened or a new cartridge has been installed and needs alignment, but she won't let you go further with the alignment, or it will allow you to print.

Snow Leopard apparently has this built-in printer drivers, but the last person who tried to install this printer on this machine admitted that they had installed the CD while trying to make it work.

    Any Suggestions?

    See you soon

    Fraser

Edit: The printer prints perfectly on my machine windows 7, so im pretty confident the printer works well.

Unless your CD says it supports in particular 10.6 Snow Leopard, you must uninstall the software No-10, 6 by using the "scrubber":

Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP
    Click on continue
Highlight your device in the left pane
Hold down the Ctrl and Opt Cmd and click on uninstall
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software. (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
Click on continue and let it finish

    Restart your Mac

    Now run a software update.

Then, remove and reinstall the printer in System Preferences, Print & Fax.

You do not have the software now since Snow Leopard as well print & scan drivers built-in. scan from Preview apps or Image Capture. Scan from the front panel of the printer does not work yet.
