Other than cleaning it, it probably isn't you can do.  It may need to be replaced.

I want to peronsalise my Trackball Explorer settings.

However, I'm not sure if the original CD Intallation IntelliPoint 4.1 is compatible with Windows 7 (x 64) and Windows 8 (x 64).

I was unable to locate the corresponding or software drivers online, probably because the device is no longer sold (only shame).

    (a) is compatible with Windows 7 and Windows 8 original software?

    (b) if not, could you please provide the software download that is?

    Very much appreciated.

    Hi Trini,

It seems that Intellipoint 4.1 is not compatible with Windows 7 and Windows 8. I suggest you to download and install Intellipoint 7.1.

My research, I already checked and verified that the Trackball Explorer is compatible with Windows 7 and Windows 8. Click on this article to the Windows Compatibility Center.

You can download and install Intellipoint 7.1 provided article.

  • Trackball Explorer not included in the center of the mouse and keyboard 2.2.173

All versions of the center of the mouse and the keyboard (by 2.1.177) have included support for trackball Explorer.  MS site shows that it is a device that is supported for mouse and keyboard Center, but the current version 2.2.173 is a template for the trackball Explorer and device file is no longer appears in the central screen of the mouse and the keyboard.  What gives, and when it's going to be fixed?

Just noticed this myself after Windows Update has given me a new version of the center of keyboard and Mouse - Trackball Explorer is most recognized that unlike that suggests the Web site.

Have had to reinstall IntelliPoint 8.2 until this has been resolved...

  • Satellite Pro A100-622 can not read the card SD and Memory Stick with Windows Explorer

I have a Satellite Pro A100-622 running MS Vista Home Basic Edition. I tried to use the card reader integrated with SD and Memory Stick card but cannot view the contents using Windows Explorer.

In both cases, the laptop recognizes the card and try to install new hardware. Unable to do so, he asks the drive of the software provided with the cards. Any software not provided with a card and I cannot find drivers to make the drive work.

The only application that I can find on the laptop that is associated with the player is a module of SD formatting, but I don't want to format the card (s) I want to just read the current content of them and add files.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

You can download the drivers (and especially in your case for the sd-card-reader) here:

    http://PC-support.Toshiba-Europe.com/Vista/

    and here

    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp

So the other point is the service of the SD card must be enabled in the start menu-> Control Panel (change to Classic view)-> Administration-> Services-> Chip card (at this point, you must activate the service and configure it to start at windows startup).

If you have any other questions, just ask. ;)

  • Trackball explore 1.0

Hello everyone, my first post here, I just bought a used explore 1.0 PS2/USB Compatible Mouse Trackball and I searched for the right drivers to download & install. My OS is Win7 x 64 installation.

From what I have found so far I have found & downloaded these files - IPx64_1033_8.01.249.0 also IPx64_1033_8.0.225.0 as well as IP64Eng of a none MS web site.

And I want to just make sure I have install the proper drivers and concidering what an old mouse that MS no longer sells, it's still a highly sought after product. And do the new with a disk driver, is for the most part just abount not a option, if I could I would, and he could find the correct drivers / updating much easier.

Any help I could get would be very much appreciated.

    Thank you

    Concerning

  • Transfer of records to memory stick using Windows Explorer works not properly. (Windows 7 64-bit)

I use sticks of memory to copy my photos and documents from my computer for backups of these elements.

I currently have about 8 000 photos that I try to copy computer to stick.

The total size of the pictures is about 18 GB, and I use 32 GB sticks. I have four different sticks, from three different manufacturers, and the problem occurs on all four sticks.

The photos are in "My pictures", who are then in albums, sous-albums, then sub-sub-albums, everything in "Images", which is located in "libraries."

Reproduction, which has more than 12 hours, it looks like it works OK, but when I check the files on the memory stick a lot are missing!

Some photos are missing from some albums, and many albums is not there at all.

I did this for several years, but this problem just started. (It is about six weeks, since I've finally done it.)

Can someone tell me what I am wrong dong?

Not all USB keys are of equal quality.

Personally I would use a portable hard drive.

12 hours for 18 GB of data is excessive

Assuming that a brand PC made the mistake of using win update for "Recommended updates" rather than just Important?

A run/installed any new utility prior to the problem occurring?

There is no registration for the model other than the most recent Trackball Optical of explore, http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/d/trackball-optical and I'm not sure this is the right download. It used to be, but Microsoft has decided to give up and forget about all the old models still!

  • Problems copying files on the external drive via Windows Explorer (Windows 7)

I have intermittent problems, but that gets worse when you try to copy files/folders on external HD or a Memory Stick via the Explorer W. It happens more often with major issues and seems just to lock up with little or no reproduction has been made.

Is this a known error I hope be solved via W update?

Is there an another wau to copy is not using the Explorer W?

Thank you, in advance, for any advice.

Run a disk error check on all players used to ensure there is no format/disk etc. on the disc error. It find or correct errors?

If the check has not helped, then re-create the Explorer copy problem, then some time after, open the event viewer, as shown below.

When "Event Viewer" is open, click on "top of viewer (local) event progresses in the window and"summer event of the administration"in the central panel, is there 'critical' or 'errors' contained in the last hour?" If so, what are they?

Open the event - viewer http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Open-event-viewer#1TC=Windows-7

If there is nothing wise of the error listed then as a test, try to start as a "clean boot". The problem then? Don't leave as a minimum, just boot it use for a test and return to the normal start thereafter.

  • Detected MS trackball & work, but only the basic enabled buttons.

I have an optical trackball usb IntelliPoint MS. It of that I plugged in and works. Device Manager still lists it as "Microsoft USB Trackball Optical".

It's a trackball 5 buttons-wheel scroll, but for some reason, the scroll wheel, scroll wheel button, buttons forward and back all do not work. But the trackball works as are the buttons on the left & right.

When I run mouse app in the control panel and click the "Center of mouse and keyboard", it tells me "device detected" (in spite of what the DM said.)

I uninstalled and reinstalled v2.2 (64 bit) only to get the same result. I disconnected and reconnected the trackball of the computer (connected directly to the rear of one of the USB ports on my PC.

It's weird. Why MSM & K say "no device not detected" when the DM clearly detects my "MS trackball?

    Hello Mugsy,

Thanks to the Microsoft Community Forum.

Did you try to connect the Microsoft Trackball on another computer and check if it works?

Problems with a few mouse buttons occurs if the drivers/firmware is damaged. I suggest that you download the latest version of mouse and keyboard Center 2.1 64 bits and IntelliPoint 7.1 64 bit for Windows 7 from Microsoft Download link provided below.

  • Even with valid proof, Microsoft does not honor the warranty on mice...

A few years ago, I bought a Microsoft Intellimouse Optical mouse pack with a computer/electronics provider online. Earlier this year, one of the left button of the mouse started to act up, but since it is intermittent, I decided to just deal with it since I've had a lot of time left on my warranty (I use these mice for many years, sometimes a little at a time - and know that the standard warranty is 5 years). Recently, the mice had got much worse than the left button of the mouse clicks several times, even if you press only once.

I called Department order Microsoft to present my possible replacement warranty.  After faxing my Bill, I received a call from a person I think of their dept of guarantee saying that the mouse is no longer under warranty and I wasn't eligible for support. I asked him how this is possible, and I was told that the warranty for the Intellimouse Optical is 3 years and I bought this mouse 3.5 years ago. I was speechless. I told the representative that the guarantee for the Intellimouse Optical mouse have been for 5 years, but he denied it and insisted on the warranty for 3 years only. I asked him if this policy had changed recently, but he said no and that he has always been 3 years. I got the box for another separate intellimouse optical sitting in my desk drawer, but did not find any mention of the warranty printed on the outside, as they did. Quickly, I went to the site of Microsoft for the Intellimouse Optical support and found the following PDF that shows clearly that the warranty of 5 years were the Intellimouse Optical mouse:

    ---------------------
    http://download.Microsoft.com/download/3/B/5/3B54A015-3714-4BFF-8BF0-003BA0B15F5C/X17-31699-02_EN_XC_FR_EL_IW_IT_PT_ES.PDF

"IntelliMouse® Optical; Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer; Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer for Bluetooth; "Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer with fingerprint reader: five 5 years.
    -----------------------

He took over after having informed the rep of this, there was nothing he could do and kept insisting it was 3 years according to its documentation. I asked him to take a look at the Microsoft Web site as it shows registered 5 years warranty but it does not seem to care. I asked to speak to a Manager or other agent, but he wouldn't let me not and told me that they told me the same thing... it was 3 years. After pleading with him again to check the site, he hung up on me!

I could not believe. I called back that MS order dept to express this frustrating experience. When I spoke to a different representative in the Department of the order, he said according to its documentation, the guarantee for the intellimouse optical mouse included in over 3 years. I asked how that was possible, given that on the Microsoft Web site, they list the guarantee for 5 years. I asked the rep if I could find my warranty booklet that came with my mouse would take a glance on this case and he said that would be fine. I spent last night wading through boxes and boxes but could not find these documents.

Fortunately, I remembered the cd of the software provided with the mouse. So I decided to check the software disk intellimouse for information on warranty and there is a RTF file included on the disc (fra.rtf) which States:

    -----------------------
IntelliMouse Optical; Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer; Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer for Bluetooth; Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer with fingerprint reader: five 5 years

This file is available on the Microsoft Web site at:
    http://download.Microsoft.com/download/2/7/8/278BFC91-3E3F-4784-BCF6-2D9418722CCE/MSHWEULAWARRANTY/Eng.RTF
    -------------------------

Also if you have intellipoint software installed on your computer, you can see that the mouse is covered for 5 years.

Open the quick start guide which is installed with the program > "Need help" icon > click Microsoft Device User Guide pointing > go to legal Information > and then to the end user LICENSE AGREEMENT and LIMITED WARRANTY.

    -------------------------
On this page under LIMITED WARRANTY AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY, he said:
MICROSOFT POINTING DEVICE: IntelliMouse Pro; IntelliMouse with IntelliEye; IntelliMouse Optical; Trackball Explorer; and Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer GUARANTEE: 5 years
    -------------------------

    In addition,
If you go to the newegg and search the IntelliMouse (suspended), it will show you the warranty of the manufacturer being listed at 5 years.
If you go to amazon and look at the pictures of products, there is a downloaded by a client that displays printed on the box of 5 years.

So with all this evidence, why Microsoft refuses to honor their warranty and tell me it's only 3 years old when it was announced that 5? I'm angry, the first agent I spoke would not do any kind of attempt to validate the correct warranty period even if there is evidence published on the Microsoft Web site (not to mention hang up on me).

As a consumer and a supporter, I am very disappointed by Microsoft with this incident. Even trying to contact the correct service to explain the situation has been extremely difficult. (After the call back to the Microsoft technical support this morning, I was redirected to another Department that took me to an answering machine.) At this point, I'm not even concerned with getting a replacement/refund for my mouse - just a real apology and an explanation as to why the warranty dept and consumers receive contradictory sets of information. It's the principle of the thing. I don't think that someone at Microsoft would accept their facts could possibly hurt or out of their way to find the correct information even if the evidence is posted above (several times) on their OWN Web site for all to see.

A big thank you to Matthew and Josh for helping me to finally solve this problem. I'm tired, but I'm grateful. Thank you Microsoft!

Hold on!  Never mind. I have disconnected/reconnected inside and now everything is fine.

    initial question:
