If you have already imported a bunch of still you can change the duration in the project window.

Select all/right click/speed-time

The preference of Edit Menu/preferences/general for still Image default duration applies only to images imported once the adjustment has been made.

To change still Image duration once again on the timeline, click with the right button on the timeline again, select Time Stretch and always set the time again for that in the duration field in the Time Stretch dialog box. You can do this for a single file or several files at once. For more than one at a time, select (all at the same time) stills involved, click anywhere in the selection, select Time Stretch and set the time yet in the Time Stretch dialog box which will apply to the entire selection.

To select several files at once

  • still image default duration not what I say

I do my preferences > still life > 15 images default image, but they are NOT.  They come in 5 seconds!

What else is there to do?

    Thank you

In case you are not aware, the setting does not change the duration of still images that are already in the project. After you change the setting, you must re-import the image.

  • Still image duration in Prem items 11 (Win 10)

    Hello

I have a number of 1290 x 1080 still images on my calendar and will add more. Once the slideshow has completed, it will be followed by a clip of 1290 x 1080 PAL.

I am currently having each image in the slideshow, which all have a fade in and fade out, to last for 5 seconds each. Is it possible to select all images and setting their 5 second duration equal?

I see this in the preferences:

    Preferences.jpg

If I highlight each image on the timeline by holding down the SHIFT key, I choose 'Still Image default Duration' in preferences? If so, I do not know what that 150 frames is equivalent to the screenshot above. As I say, I'm looking for an equivalent period of 5 seconds.

    Thank you.

I think that we must consider the drive specifications.

But, as I said, there are cases where for compatibility reasons, disc needs a folder with the folder VIDEO_TS and first Elements Audio_TS offers only the VIDEO_TS folder.

But let see if drive specifications will help define the problem of reading.

  • How to change the default duration of title?

This is one of those fundamental issues, that I can't believe nobody else has asked already, but after a search on Google and in this forum without finding an answer, I guess I must be the first.

Whenever I have create a title in Premiere Pro saves it as a default of 5 seconds duration. I wouldn't be able to change this time by default to what I want? In preferences I tried to change the still Image default duration, but it does not work for titles.

Of course, I know that I can adjust the durations of title once they are on the timeline, but I have a lot to create and I want them all to be more than 5 seconds, so it would be nice if I could adjust the default time.

All the workflow depends on which first version you are using.

This thread is probably CS5 and CS6.

If you are on CC you can change the duration of stills in the project Panel.

How can I change the default duration of a still image added to a video editing? I think that he is currently 5 seconds.

    Hi Cheyenne,

I think that you go to After Effects. I've never found a preference for setting the default duration for each still that you import.

  • How to change still image duration?

Imported a long series of still images to a part of a video slide show. The default value has been set at 2.5 seconds, but I need to change the time without having to remove the images and import them all again. Anyone? When trying to select them all and right click to get to speed/duration, I get a window that has this posted for existing life I guess: 00:00:02:18. Any changes I make to this number has zero effect. Check the Ripple edit in the speed settings dialog box.

  • Control the duration of numbered still images

In collaboration with the premier cs5 (and AE).

I started making numbered distillers of import because I wanted to warp to the help of twixor and a filter to strain. The images come in fast motion, I guess mount according to setting sequence. It wasn't a problem because I go to slo it to 30% and get these images of weird distortion.

Now I want it slow down and be mor jumpy. so I want the stills to 6-10 views each.

How can I control the duration of the frame of a sequence of time?

How can I define in the active panel in several still image or video?

Is there a better way in AE?

Numbered Still can only be a frame each.  If you need an image to last longer than an image, and then import you individual frames, instead of numbered stills.

The duration of these images is defined in Edition > Preferences > General...

  • Cannot change the duration for still images?

I have a bunch of stills in my Timeline that are of the same duration. I click with the right button on the first and select speed/time and change it if nothing happens. If I drag the clip on a new layer, I'm able to change the duration. Is there a way to change the individual duration of still images when they are already placed in the Timeline?

    Thank you.

Right-click on the clip and select the speed/duration.  Don't forget to check the box for ripple edit, move the creeping Clips.    You can select and change multiple clips at "drawing", a box (marquee tool) around the appropriate clips, then right click on for speed/duration.

  • Rotating still images in a video-help please!

Hello, I have the Adobe Premiere Elements 10 mounting system, and I am currently working in a summer project. One of the things I want to do is to create a video from still images, but I'm having a problem, because the images I chose and increased their time line look too choppy, but I want more flow-ey look. What would be the speed or duration of each image? There are other effects that can help to achieve my photo video yet? Also, I'm ready to other suggestions, others have to make a smooth surface, still video image. Thank you!

I wasn't sure of my schedule for later this evening, so I'll post an example scenario, assuming that you have first Elements 10 Windows 7 64 bit.

    1. place your 10 each to 3680 x 2760 pixels 4:3 pictures in the order of the sequences in a folder on the desktop. No need to resize them in advance ONLY if your Windows 7 is 64 bit and not 32 bit and your RAM installed is greater than 4 GB.

    2. open the first items 10 and set the project preset for

    NTSC

    DIGITAL SLR

    1080 p

    DSLR 1080 p 30 @ 29.97

    3. go to edit Menu/preferences/general and remove the check mark next to the option "default scale to frame size".

    4. then, use Get-Media/files and folder to your desktop folder in the field of the Organization/media. Then drag the whole folder not open early in the editing video track 1. When you do, your 10 photos will be on the Timeline in the order that you placed in the folder.

    5. click on Photo 1 to select. Then go to Properties Palette/Motion expanded Panel and the Scale property. Set the scale to 52.6%.

    6. go back to the Timeline and click 1 Photo to select it. In the Edition Menu, select copy. The other 9 pictures (all at the same time), and then select right

Click anywhere in the selection, select and click Paste attributes.

    7. to give a time-lapse effect on your 10 photos, you will reduce the duration of each photo. You don't want to deal in seconds, rather the frames (frames 1 to 5 0.033 to 0.165 seconds in a 30 frames per second is set up).

    a. first we look at the effect with the length of 5 frames photo... Select all photos of 10 all at once... right click anywhere in the selection, and then select Timeline Stretch. In the Time Stretch dialog box, change duration of 00;... 00; 05; 00 (5 seconds) to 00. 00; 00; 05 (equivalent to 0,165 seconds 5 frames) Note the effect Timelapse which is performed after you restore the timeline content by pressing the Enter key to get the best possible overview of the chronology of the contents read in edit box monitor.

    b. If you are not satisfied with 'a', the repetition, but this time change the duration to 00. 00; 00 03 (3 images equivalent to 0.150 seconds)... Note the Timelapse

effect that is performed after restore you the timeline by pressing the Enter key to get the best possible overview.

    c. If you are not satisfied with the 'b', then repeat, but this change of time in the lowest possible value 00. 00; 00; 01 (1 Executive equivalent to 0,033 seconds)... Note the effect of Timelapse obtained after restore you the timeline by pressing the key ot GET Enter the best possible overview.

See what it looks like. For now, I would not bother with transitions. More than one placement of transition both can be done by selecting all the photos using Timeline Menu/Apply default Transition. But, with these pictures of short duration, I would need to think about changing the default transition duration.

And I don't see in pans and zooms with short duration that are used.

Here are some Timelapse basic ideas in Premiere Elements.

First Elements ATR troubleshooting: PE: Time Lapse video Basics

First Elements ATR troubleshooting: PE: numbered stills in Time Lapse and other Animations

Notes: To select more than one clip at a time, you can hold the SHIFT key and click each photo. Or, you can use the trick of mouse cursor to draw a rectangle around the photos to select them.

Please let us know if this needs to be clarified.

  • How to make a standard DVD of still Images in the correct proportions on the DVD?

The Premier Pro CC 2014 Apple MacBook Pro 10.10.5 DVD Superdrive Samsung PX2370 Dual monitors

It comes to make a slideshow of lightroom still images on a standard DVD.

    If I choose:

    New project form - DV

Preferences - Still Image duration - 30 seconds 3 pictures

    Export - MPEG2-DVD - DV NTSC 720 X 480 NTSC 29.97 STANDARD 4:3

Time line report Correct Veritical Aspect full screen

Program the Panel - Aspect Ratio Correct Horizontal black Bars

    Queue - MPEG2-DVD NTSC DV

The sequence settings: unless the default scale image size is selected in the General preferences

The image is very much out of proportion with or without zoom

Tried several presets, that does not

Scale to the size of the selected image

New project created with all the settings above

Including the default scale to the size of the image

The sequence presented without change settings

    Custom - 29, 97-3988 x 2649 pixel square progressive 29.97 Drop Frame

    Export settings - NTSC 720 x 480 widescreen

    Successful of the queue

    New project-DVD 720 x 480 29.97

Import the Aspect Ratio of Correct time line

Play DVDs on Mac - good reading of DVD on standard DVD player or Playstation

Image format - incorrect image tool large horizontal black Bars

Vertical - top of the picture cut off

First of all, I'd do the widescreen dvd.

I would like to start with a normal of 1920 x 1080 1.0 and progressive.

Put all my photos (no scale to the size of the image) reduce manually to fit the screen or correct the composition.

  • several imported still images (how to change "timing" AND make multiple transitions)

I imported into project still many pictures resources.  The default for each time seems to be 5.1 seconds.  If I drag them in the timeline, select them all and change the duration, there are gaps between the images... How can I scrunch together easily, OR how change the default duration before I drag them in the timeline?

Second... If I have all my photos on a timeline can I set the effect of transition on more than two at a time?  I can't put the transition for all of them at once (a different query)

When you have selected your still and used the command of speed/duration, do not forget to check the option 'Edit Ripple, Shifting trailing Clips' in Control Panel. That will remove any empty what space between clips that would be otherwise generated to reduce the duration of your sequences.

Second... If I have all my photos on a timeline can I set the effect of transition on more than two at a time?  I can't put the transition for all of them at once (a different query)

Yes, although there are two preliminary steps. First of all, in the effect controls panel, click the button of the flyout (this stack of pancakes with the little downward arrow) or go in Edition > Preferences > general and select the default Transition duration option and change to the desired option. Secondly, in the effect controls panel, select the transition you want and right click and select "Set selected as Default Transition".

Now, select your clips/still images in the timeline panel and go to the sequence > apply Transitions to the selection by default; the passage you have just configured will apply to all of your clips. Note that, by default, this will add audio transitions as well, if you use combined video/audio clips (probably not a problem in your case that you use still images), but you can hold down the ALT key to select just the video or only the portions audio your clips, if you want only a single transition type or the other. You can also temporarily block tracks where you don't want transitions before using the command.

Also, given that you work with still images, you don't have to worry about the handles; If you import a still in the first, even if it lasts only a single image, you have an indefinite/infinite amount of images to use for editing and transition. Audio/video clips are a different story, of course...
