stop repeating the error display in the alerts log

Dear Sir

I use a logon trigger to the user control that connects some dev. Tools, but this caused flooding the same type of message in the alerts log. How can I keep the same message in the flood alert log.

Kind regards

  • I get a Microsoft Search Protocol Host has stopped working the alert box. How to solve this?

    I get a Microsoft Search Protocol Host has stopped working the alert box. How to solve this? It gives me the option to 'Search online (recommended)', but when I click on it nothing happens. Tried to restart and used Malware Bytes and my security suite Norton to seek something malicious, without success. Any suggestions?

    Hello

    1. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

    2. when exactly you get this error?

    I suggest you try to reset to a new start Indexing Options by removing and then rebuild the index and check if it helps.
    Your search index requires virtually no maintenance. However, if the index looking for files that you know problems must be in a location indexed; You may have to re-create the index.

    To rebuild the index:

    a. open indexing and Search Options by clicking the Start button, click on the Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, and then clicking Indexing Options.

    b. click Advanced Options, click the index settings tab and then click on rebuild. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  • Errors in archiving in the alerts log

    Hello

    I have an Oracle Database 9i (9.2.0.7) for which I shot on the mode of arhivelog a week ago. In this PB in the alerts log there following errors:

    Arc1: Evaluating archive log 1 thread 1 sequence 1221
    Arc1: Impossible to archive log 1-wire 1 sequence 1221
    Newspapers archived by another process
    Arc1: Evaluating archive log 2 thread 1 sequence 1222
    Arc1: Impossible to archive log 2 thread 1 sequence 1222
    Newspapers archived by another process

    and there is no message like "Archiving completed" because of another problem - there was a mistake in specifying the format of newspaper. The of log_archive_format is incorrectly set to 'DB001_%s_%t_%r.arc' so also there is another trace file that says that:

    SESSION ID: (9.1) 2009-03-11 08:42:00.023
    ORA-00294: format specifier invalid archivelog 'r '.

    (There are two things: 1) to change the format of journal archive
    (2) to deal with the other issue: impossible to archive log 2 thread 1 sequence 1222
    Newspapers archived by another process

    What is the process to do this? Will be grateful for the help. The database is now.

    Thank you

My concern is that since this error is over a week old, it will allow me to close the db itself (when I get the permission to do so), or there will be a problem if I try to close the db, then restart. so I do not know how...

    I guess you took bad, this setting can be changed indeed but the effect of this would come at the next startup only one, this is a static setting.

    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/B10501_01/server.920/a96536/CH195.htm#REFRN10089

    If you need to do something like that,

    alter system set log_archive_format= scope=spfile;

    Do a reset and setting of parameters entered into force. No matter what dba account must be able to change this setting, but for the bounce of the db, you must have Sysdba privileges. This setting won't make your startup or a stop, they should go ahead without problem.

    Hello

    Thank you for the time, I already read something about recovery logs, but everything indicates that the redo log should be smaller and more groups, it's a small database like already post, only 5 users working in there.
    Do you think I need to increase the size of the redo log members?

    Kind regards.

    Without no doubt... but I would certainly add two members of each group and spread members around you to the disks. In its current form, with only one member of each group, if you lose a redo log, you have no redo data recovery. Problems of performance aside, your database is at risk.

  • Average time of recovery in the alerts log

    Hi Experts,

    I found the following statement in the alerts log. my version of the 11.2.0.2.0 database - 64 bit.

    FAST_START_MTTR_TARGET 60 is too low, to the minimum achievable MTTR 61 rather helps - in my alertlog.

    I have found that whenever you set fast_start_mttr_target to a value other than zero, and while the MTTR is what WE, Oracle Corporation recommends that you disable (value 0) the following parameters:

    LOG_CHECKPOINT_TIMEOUT

    LOG_CHECKPOINT_INTERVAL

    FAST_START_IO_TARGET

    The values that I found in my database.

    fast_start_mttr_target integer 60

    log_checkpoint_interval integer 100000

    log_checkpoint_timeout around 1200

    FAST_START_IO_TARGET integer 0

    My question is will I have to perform no action, what I found in the alerts log. I read on the fast_start_mmtr_target according to my understanding

    The fast_start_mttr_target defines the average time effective to the target for recovery (MTTR), expressed in seconds.

    The default value of fast_start_mttr_target is 300 seconds (5 Minutes). and the maximum we can give 3 600 (1 hour).

    Administrators specify a (delimited) target time to complete the phase of recovery of cache recovery with the fast_start_mttr_target initialization parameter.

    Please suggest your ideas.

    Thanks in advance.

    Without knowing why, this parameter has been set to a specific value (in this case 60), I suggest you not change to something else. In general, the init.ora parameters are defined for some reason, I hope that logic.

  • If the alerts log is deleted, how to restore?

    Hello

    I want to know if the alerts log is deleted, how to restore?

    What OS?
    Which version of DB?

    You can restore from tape if you have a backup.

  • Remove the alert logs and trace files

    Hello world!

    I noticed that in all the databases oracle, the trace files are pious and alert log is more and more like what...

    Thought of making a copy of the trace of the files somewhere and remove hard drive other than the most recent.

    For the alerts log, thought to make a copy and rename the current file as well as Oracle can create a new.

    Advice if there are better approaches in the treatment of this?

    Thanks in advance.

    ZIP or whatever it is you need to automate scripts by creating a * .bat files. you have some third-party tools where you can plan all those.

  • Who writes the alert log file?

    Hi guys,.

    I tried to answer this question...

    What process (process backgroud) written in newspaper alert?

    Is not "one" but all background processes can / write for her.

    The archiver written for her. LogWriter can write (if you have log_checkpoints_to_alert).
    When a background process detects that another died, the former written to the alert log in before you panic the instance and kill him.

    An ALTER SYSTEM command issued by the server process for your database session will also write to the alert.log

    (Alternatively, you can call a specific procedure of data to write in it - but it is not documented).

  • Check the alerts log without loggin in the server?

    Hi all

    Is there a way I can watch the last 30 to 50 lines in the alerts log without going through vi or any editor on unix system? I'm on 10203 (hp - ux). and I dba grant to me. But do have access to the Oracle login server to view the alert log... so I was wondering if there are procedures that are very practical or even watch the alert without loggin to the unix system log?
    Thank you..

    Try this

    You missed the semicolon at the end of the first CREATE command :)

    CREATE OR REPLACE  DIRECTORY TEST AS '/home/oracle/----####------/bdump';

    --Below, show destination of your alert log file

    DECLARE
       alert_file   UTL_FILE.file_type;
       line         VARCHAR2 (100);
       line1        NUMBER;
    BEGIN
       alert_file := UTL_FILE.fopen ('TEST', 'alert_log_file_name.log', 'R'); --Here, show your alert.log file name
       line1 := 1;

       FOR line1 IN 1 .. 10
       LOOP
          UTL_FILE.get_line (alert_file, line);
          DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line (line);
       END LOOP;

       UTL_FILE.fclose (alert_file);
    END;

  • find the time what DB is down (Nothing in the alerts log).

    Hi all

    is it possible to tell when the DB is down. Yesterday we had a power outage in our data center, and he took down one of our servers. And this morning I started the DB and they went up fine without problem. But is it possible to know when the DB is lying (there is nothing written in the alerts log)... and our sysadmin's VAC... and management wants to let me know when the server/database is down... oracle this thing records anywhere in the DB without counting the alerts log? We are on 10.2.0.3 on hp - UX. We can look at the operating system to find this out, but as mentioned our sysadmin came out and do not have access to the root...

    Hello user630084,

    PLS, try this. I had to check the same thing on one of our boxes of customer not having access unix and I've used the below to find. It worked for me.
    (version 10.2.0.4)

    SELECT SCN_TO_TIMESTAMP (TIMESTAMP_TO_SCN (startup_time)) 'DB downtime', startup_time "DB-startup time" OF v$ instance

    I hope it works for you as well.

  • Windows Media Player 11 Date added function - please stop repeating the date for EACH file.

    I have been using Media Player 9, decided to upgrade to Windows Media Player 11, and the only thing I can not stand on Player 11 is how it sorts Date added media files.  In Player 9 when I chose the column Date added, the program would list all the files on a given under a SINGLE date.  With Windows Media Player 11 it lists EACH file with a date so that instead of see Tuesday, December 14, 2010 once and then listing all of the files under it, I see Tuesday, December 14, 2010 about twenty times.  I download podcasts once a week and dump it on my phone, but it's a worry now.  Is it possible to stop Windows Media Player 11 to repeat the date again and again and force him to the date that the list only once?  Think back to Player 9.  Alex

    Hi Alex103,

    It's design in Windows media player 11 and it is also included in Windows Media player 12.

    However, you can uncheck this option, follow the steps below:

    a. open windows Media player

    b. right-click on one of the sorted column

    c. click Choose column

    d. uncheck data added

  • Strange errors in the alerts log

    Hi, as someone relatively new to Oracle, I need help in the identification of errors in the oracle alert log.

    ORA-12012: error on auto run 92712 work
    ORA-29282: invalid file ID
    Thu Mar 14 23:17:50 GMT 2013

    I know that nothing should be running at 23:17 on the database, so I can only assume it is a work of maintanance - but how do I identify exactly what it relates to, and what is the error?

    Kind regards

  • How can I stop repeating the same song and he can play the next song during playback of music on my iPad?

    Please help me. When playing music on my iPad continues to repeat the same song, and it will not move forward to the next song on the album. It drives me crazy, and if I hear the Wiggles song even more once I'll scream!

    Check these screen grabs.

    If the icon repeat has a 1 in it (as in the photo), then he will repeat this song, simply click the icon to cycle through the options.
