Stop the action if an error - CS5/Javascript

Hey all!

Here's what I'm trying to do: I have an action that does many things then call a script then we close the file.

When there is something wrong with the name of the file that the script is responsible for the research it pop is an alert box.

Here's the thing, after the alert box I want the script to STOP running and then DO not close the file that is the next step in the action that calls the script.

(Is it came me if necessary I can get that close action in the script to make simple, so what I have to do is to stop the script, is - that correct?)

And if its possible that, after this error occurs PS brings me this dialog box asking if I want to keep on working with the lot or stop it, but this is optional.

Can someone help me? :]

Ty for all and please forgive the grammar mistakes, I'm Brazilian.

What is assumed to be false exactly that trigger?

You can either define an if clause to check a condition or maybe a try clause and determine what to do with a socket on failure.

  • If/Else - stop the action in the Middle?

    Hello!

    So, I have an if/else statement that modifies the State of the screen.

    1 key to be the essential element. 13 different States. 1 variable to increase whenever a State is considered for a learner will be guided through each State seamlessly.

    The idea with is having only a single action and to save so much confusion (and repair) in the timeline using state changes vs 13 different groups.

    If the if/else statement has 12 tabs. Each tab will change the State and increase a variable one. But because the action naturally wants to play through all 12 tabs, EVEN IF it is a statement to be true, the variable is automatically increased to 0 (or 1) at 13 and change of State goes to the last State. The learner never sees in the middle.

    How to stop an if/else statement of progress since the different tabs when he finds his first real statement?

    I added a break in the action, and that did not help at all.

    Should I 13 different actions and 13 groups of graphics/text vs States?

    You can't just stop an advanced Captivate in action, it will be always evaluated completely. You must configure the sequence of decisions in a reverse order so that you do not override the current situation (in decision 1) with a forthcoming decision (I suspect that this will be the case with decision 2). Take a look at this article, I wrote following a similar fault set up by another user. You can use the increment or decrement instead of assignment. Here I explain how to set up properly (it is in the ClickClick part):

    http://blog.lilybiri.com/blog-after-Posterous-ClickClick

    If you want more help, please post a screenshot of the full action: there is a preview button at the top right, the first button in the control panel for actions (it looks like a "play" button). Which indicates the action completes.

    BTW, break is a command to pause the playhead on the slide on the duration.

  • "Error message when you run the action through droplets ' error: no item of this type.

    Whenever I run an action via a droplet, I receive the error message after the image has been processed "error: no element of this type" on average, it appears 3 times by image and I have to continue to press the return key to get rid of the message.

    The action that the drop is based on works fine within photoshop.

    This drop was working fine until the last update and I have used it for years. I reinstalled Photoshop (CC 2015.1.2) and re-created the action and droplets but still having the same problem.

    The action is very simple change RGB to CMYK, change dpi to 300 DPI and save as a file .psd format

    The original file that I am conversion types .jpg, .png and .tif

    Gout is saved to the desktop and light the processed files in a folder on the desktop.

    You can try to reset Photoshop back to default preferences.

    To re-create the Photoshop preferences files, start the application while pressing Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or command + Option + shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop settings file?"

    If the step above have not, then uninstall the application, restart your machine and reinstall from creative cloud desktop application.

    Kind regards

  • How to stop the action to enter text?

  • Stop the action does not

    Hello, all!

    I'm doing a menu very easy in Flash CS4 with AS3. I have a stop() on the first frame of my scene, but it keeps ignoring and the while loop. The only other code is what the Stop buttons on some images. Help?

    Hi, sounds pretty good, only a few minor problems:

    For your orders to stop, you should be able to get away without any price. IE: gotoAndStop (10);

    One of the things that made the question "GRAPHICS_btn.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, buttonClicked);"

    as I looked through your library, it has not established a GRAPHICS_btn, if you have not yet created or I forgot to give it an instance name.

    Also the "advertising_btn" button has import problems trying to access an external web address, I wasn't quite sure of what you were trying to achieve with it so I took it off and it worked fine.

    Here's what my version looks like:

    Stop()

    Turned idle until GRAPHICS_btn is created...

    GRAPHICS_btn.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, buttonClicked);

    function buttonClicked(event:MouseEvent):void
    {
    gotoAndStop (5);
    }

    photo_btn.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, buttonClicked2);

    function buttonClicked2(event:MouseEvent):void
    {
    gotoAndStop (10);
    }

    fineart_btn.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, buttonClicked3);

    function buttonClicked3(event:MouseEvent):void
    {
    gotoAndStop (15);
    }

    Remember, flash loops through all frames regardless of the script action if it detects an error so its best to test your movie before of the post to see how he responds... to test - control - test movie or Ctrl + ENTER.

    Hope this helps;

  • Stop the Action in a loop

    I have a simple intro created in Flash CS3 ( http://vanillahousedesign.com). On my Mac, when published and traveled, he plays and stops. But on a PC/Explorer a loop is executed. I changed my publish settings html and makes sure that 'Loop' reading is not checked, before the publish. I chose the last image of the film and added action "stop()". I have even highlighted keyframe where the movie ends, selected window > properties > properties > select the sound from the context menu and select stop from the menu contextual of synchronization, and then republished. Any of these will keep the movie looping on a PC/IE darn. My intro is annoying enough just to see and hear once, not to mention countless times! Thanks to all those who will help you.

    Thank you all. It must be a problem on very old PC Win IE version. We will consider this issue closed. Happy new year.

    Thank you for the help, but this is not the case. Here is a screenshot.

    the step should rename the layer to Foto1 but does not work.

    Here are the layers palette. As you can see the layer is layer 1 and selectedand active. In German it is current ebony.

    Is not rename the layer. If I stop the action and manually rename the actun runs.

    I have to say that I don't need for this action, but since it's a lengty discussen in the German forum Adobe PS and I myself haven written many, many actions can not find the cause.

    I work in the CS6 and think it is a problem of version, because the same action runs in the CC

  • Stop the JavaScript action game

    But if the active document has not yet been saved, this script only

    Thank you in advanced for your help.

    What about a simple conditional that determines whether to execute the action?

    var valid = true;

    If (app.documents.length > {0})

    app.doScript ('Create The File", (the set name));

    }

    else {}

    Alert ("No Document Open!");

    valid = false;

    }

    if(valid && App.activeDocument.Saved) {}

    app.doScript ("Run The Rest of the Action", (the set name));

    }

    ElseIf (valid &! app.activeDocument.saved) {}

    Alert ("save your document!");

    }

    I agree that this would be better done through JS. But it is a simple solution that bypasses the inability of measures to use conditional statements.

  • The action "Watch Me Do" has encountered an error. The operation could not be completed. (OSStatus error - 50.)

    Morning,

    • Automator to. 2.6 (419)

    I'm trying to automate downloads via iTunes take place during early in the morning to avoid using bandwidth more expensive. The operation (my apologies if I have the wrong terms, not a tech guy) fails and returns this error:

    The action "Watch Me Do" has encountered an error.

    The operation could not be completed. (OSStatus error - 50.)

    Is that what everyone has seen, or to which there is a known solution?

    Concerning

    James

    Watch Me Do is designed to replay the same click of mouse and keyboard events to the same speed.  Think of driving your car to work and record each turn and stop.  Then play each round and down at the same speed.  What to do if while reading the traffic moves a little faster or a little slower?  If you drive the same route to work, you could get a red light at an intersection that you had a green light to yesterday.  "Watch Me" does not know how to deviate from these changes, so he'll just to stop and report an error.  If iTunes launches slower or an event during playback takes longer to achieve because of different background running processes, it will have the same effect.

    Allowing automatic downloads in iTunes and help Automator to activate your device network at a specific time might be a better solution.

  • Returns the script error / complete the action?

    Hello

    I added a script action through 'menu command insert. The script can detect an error condition (selection does not meet the expectations of the script). In this case, I want to put an end to the action that calls the script. The best I can get so far shows a dialog box "press ok to continue if there is no error message.

    I can make the script has an error (for example, by calling exit() function does not exist after an alert), but the action proceeds

    Concerning

    There is no direct way to stop an Action when he started, a way I think to work around the limitation is perhaps unload action? not tested, just an idea, we can not work, try it and let us know.

    Another idea, create an empty document so your action tries to continue to work on it and it will fail, no big deal, it depends on what kind of error it gives you,

  • My triggers the mouse to the bottom of the actions on the buttons and STOP are ignored in 1.5

    Hey guys,.

    STOP triggers always seemed buggy, but once I have upgraded to 1.5, they do not exist. My calendar just right cheek on through them and the buttons that I put in place with the mouse down did not go to a specific label. My stage is set for AUTOPLAY. Is there a setting that could turn off actions and triggers?  I'm going crazy here with a deadline of tomorrow. Help, please!

    Thank you very much!

    Brian

    Brian-

    No, there is no adjustment.  In general, this means that there is a bug in the code for the action.  First, check if there are red warnings in the Panel (bottom right of the screen) warnings.  The next thing for you to do is to open a web Inspector as Inspector of Chrome or Firebug for Firefox to check if there is JavaScript not valid.

    Hope that helps,

    -Elaine
