Storage gap - iTunes vs iPhone

So I am confused.

iTunes says I should have 20 GB available on my iPhone.

On the iPhone in settings - storage/iCloud use - it says I have no available storage.

Which is correct?

With that much anomaly probably have a corrupt system iOS and would have to do a system restore to solve.

The system restore. First save your device via iTunes. Also import your photos on your computer and copy all the important data. Reconstruction of the support first test and test. If this does not help, you may need to restore as a new and reconfigure from scratch as the backup may be damaged. It is important to have your photos and your saved data separately from the backup. Here are the steps for a restoration:

IOS 10.0.1 and 12.5.1 to Windows 7 iTunes, the iPhone no longer appears as a device on the computer when I plug it, even if it syncs very well. That's how I used to synchronize and access my photos from my phone to my PC.

    * Is there a different way recommended to synchronize the pictures from the phone directly to a PC? I don't want to use iCloud.

  • Difference in storage iPhone shows iTunes and iPhone control

    Hey everybody,

Just a quick question. When I connect my iPhone, I noticed that there is a difference between the available storage space in iTunes and my iPhone settings. To clarify, when the iPhone is connected to my MacBook, iTunes States that the available storage space is 26 GB, but my iPhone displays in the settings menu that there are only 12 GB available.

In addition, I have seen what is happening before on my previous iPhone as well as on my iPad.

Any ideas on why this is happening? And which one is the most accurate assessment?

    Kind regards

  • Problems between iTunes and iPhone/iPod...

    Hello

The problems started when iTunes has stopped to see my iPhone when I connected it to my computer. Then, an error message is appeared when I plugged in my iPod, telling me to iTunes it was detected, but there was a problem, so I needed to unplug. If the problem persisted, I had to uninstall and reinstall iTunes. What I did. No good, same problem.

Then I happened to get a new iPhone, but once again, iTunes does not see. So I followed these steps I found on some forum:

Right-click the Apple Mobile Device entry in Device Manager and choose Update driver software.

    • Choose "Browse my computer for driver software."
    • Choose "Let Me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer.
    • Click the disk button. Note: If the disk option is not present, choose a category of devices such as Mobile phone or storage device if the list and then click Next. The disk button will appear.
    • Click the Browse button and navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Apple Mobile Device Support\Drivers.
    • Double-click the file "usbaapl. (This file is called "usbaapl64" If you have a 64-bit version of Windows. If you don't see "usbaapl64" here, or if there is no Drivers folder, look in C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers. instead).
    • Click Open in the disk window. Then, click Next and then click Finish. Windows installs the driver.

I couldn't find the bit of the file "usbaal" so, so I just typed in the "C:\Program" bit... "and installed.

Now, iTunes tells me that my iPhone is encrypted with a password, but there is nowhere for my type a password. It may be a problem with the fact that it is a new iPhone (actually it is second hand but completely reset), but the fact that I have problems with all my devices makes me think that the problem is most likely with iTunes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm starting to go crazy from not to be ably to change any music around and thank God for iCloud or I wouldn't be able to back up either...

  • Use of storage of mystery on iPhone?

    Hello

When you perform a restore on my iPhone 6, after the backup has been restored I stayed still a significant amount of memory being occupied on the iPhone.

ITunes says it's "The Documents and data" or something like that. It is NOT Apps, Audio or something like that. I erased everything on the phone I can think before saving. What is this data and how do I clear it out?

It is usually given such as Spotify app, Facebook, twitter etc in the shop, GoogleDrive/Dropbox downloaded files, PDF iBooks, and books downloaded and such. You can see specifically what applications is having the largest Cache by going to settings-> General-> use storage and iCloud-> storage management.

  • How to extract deleted the file from itunes backup iPhone photos

I bought an iPhone 16G 6 s two months ago and the storage is in short lately. So I deleted a large number of items than the iPhone, especially for photos and videos. But now, I realized there were 3 important photos deleted by mistake. Luckliy, I backed up the device with iTunes. I know that iTunes is the official way to restore an iPhone. In my case, I only need to restore these 3 photos, there is no need to restore the whole itunes backup. How can I retrieve pictures only from the backup file?

You can't isolate only the photos in the backup file

You will need to do a restore - fix these pictures and re delete others

  • He cannot sign with iTunes on iPhone

Hello. I own an iPhone running OS 10.0.2 5s. I also have a Mac Mini running OS Sierra. In the process of upgrading to Sierra, I changed the password of my Apple ID.

The problem I have is that iTunes on my phone does not accept my new password. So I can't launch the App store on the phone for updating applications. I just tried to update applications on my iPhone via iTunes on my Mac, but there were a few errors and a few apps has not updated. Normally in this case, I can update the applications using the App Store app on my phone. But I can't do it now because iTunes on my phone does not accept my password.

Something strange is happening because this same password works fine on my Mac. I sign in iTunes on my Mac with the same Apple ID and password which is sent me errors on the phone. I am also able to connect in the Mac App store and this website, anything that uses the same user name and password. So I have no idea why iTunes on my phone does not accept the new password.

Can someone tell me how to solve this problem? Thank you.

I had this problem once before - have you tried to remove your apple itunes and app store ID and add it again? This solved it for me when it happened.

  • empty selection smart iTunes on iphone

I have updated to iOS 10.  I created a new smart playlist.  It appears in iTunes fully filled.  When I go on my iPhone to play list.  It manifests itself here, but it is empty.

I have older / pre iOS 10 smart playlists that appear correctly.

    Any ideas?

    iOS 10

    iPhone 6 Plus

    iTunes 12.5.1.21

    Sierra of MacOS

I tried a few more things.  I took an old list and it duplicated.  It has synchronized in 8 seconds approximately.  Then, I changed the settings in the smart list to match what I had.  The list updated and empties.  I noticed that he did not like the parameter 'group's  However, I have other active lists that use the setting "Grouping is" and they work.  Maybe the new field, which I have added to the grouping is not be downloaded to iCloud music?  So it is not available for correspondence in the rules?  I'm running an update of genius and an update of the iCloud library.  I'll try testing again to see if that makes a difference.

  • Import all pictures (including photos from iTunes backup) iPhone to mac

    Hello!

I need support, o rather, I think I'm going crazy and I need help to make sure that I'm not.

My phones film like 500 pictures. If I connect it to my Mac start pictures / Lightroom / Whatever and do an import. only 150 of them are imported.

150 photos that appears in the import dialog are pictures that I took with my current phone. The other 350 pictures are pictures that I took with my old phone that I restored to my new phone. It's only a coincidence, right? Because otherwise I'm going crazy. The world is strange and Apple is complete and total crazy devoid of logic and intelligence. I really want this to be the case.

Because WHAT person would come with the idea that you should not be able to import a photo currently in your camera roll because it was earlier in a backup?

A photo is a photo and image file is an image file, the data are given. At least he was until now, and that's why I'm going crazy. With this new logic Apple Photo is not data, but some random symbolic link to something that does not exist and the user cannot download on his computer.

Is this the case? Please, that's not for

If this is the case, Apple devs are devoid of logical reasoning.

How 'recover' my real files in iTunes from my old file backup and integrate these image files physical in my iPhone so photos they are treated like actual in my camera photos so that I will be able to import them into any other Photo?

    Thank you

Connect the iPhone to your Mac.

Open Picture Capture on your Mac and import photos and remove them from your iPhone.

  • Error message when you try to synchronize iTunes with iPhone

Lately every time I connected my iPhone to my computer to synchronize with iTunes I get an error message that "iPhone unusable because it requires a newer version of iTunes. Go to www.itunes.com/uk to download the latest version of iTunes. " I did that, didn't work. I uninstall and reinstall iTunes, did not work. I checked the updates on my iTunes, it is updated. I don't know what to do. If anyone has any suggestions I would be very appreciate! Thank you!

What version of Windows are you using?  If you have Windows XP, I'm afraid you're stuck.

An iPhone IS requires at least iTunes 12.3.3 which in turn requires at least Windows 7.

12.1.3 iTunes (from your tag) is the latest version running on Windows XP (which is what I suspect you have).
