Hello

On a Windows Server 2008 R2 with System Center installed, we have the following warnings:

Windows detected your registry file is still in use for other applications or services. The file will be unloaded now. Applications or services that keep your registry file may not work properly thereafter.

The user S-1-5-21-1715555822-179605362-839522115-8025 is the user workflow.

We have a workflow (written in c#), which runs a powershell script. This sometimes results in the following error:

System.NullReferenceException: Object Reference not set to an instance of an object.
at System.Environment.GetEnvironmentVariable (String variable, target EnvironmentVariableTarget)
at System.Management.Automation.ModuleIntrinsics.GetExpandedEnvironmentVariable (String name, target EnvironmentVariableTarget)

at System.Management.Automation.Runspaces.LocalRunspace.DoOpenHelper)
at System.Management.Automation.Runspaces.RunspaceBase.CoreOpen (Boolean syncCall)

I think that both the warning and exception, are related. But I don't know what the problem is.

Can someone help, please?

Thank you

    Hi Nicolas

This error occurs is because the Service that is running is not properly managed by the system.

See this article for an explanation.

Event ID: 1530 can be recorded in the journal of applications on a Windows Vista-based or Windows 7 client computer:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/947238

The service involved in your case is the Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant service. This service is used when you connect to a Web site that requires Live ID authentication, as the Microsoft answers Forums.

    Open the Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services.

Scroll down to the Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant service and double click on this service to open the dialogue parameters .

Ensure that the Startup Type: is set to Automatic.

This is a common warning for some services and can usually be ignored, unless you are having problems with this component specific (Windows Live ID).

I work in a school and I can see through our volume license console we have System Center configuration manager 2012 r2 in there. Are we able to obtain the System Center service manager r2? how much is it to add to our licenses.

  • System Center Orchestrator 2012 R2 + Powershell module

    Hello

I'm new here and just start using System Center Orchestrator 2012 R2.

I created a file to play a Powershell Script that imports a module.

The PS module has been deployed to all servers in folders.

Executing files, it can't... I founf out that the new PS module is not imported through the host of orchestrator runs the script.

to debug, I have performed in a test files:

    Get-module-list | out-file c:\temp\modules.txt

and the new PS module is not listed in the file put out!

I need to reboot servers in folders (or services) to get the new module PS imported successfully?

    Thanks a lot guys.

  • Problems installing System Center Data Protection Manager 2010 in Server 2008 r2 DataCenter

I try to install DPM 2010 and I installed all 4 of the installation of packages and they are all in the same folder according to the installation instructions on Microsoft Technet for DPM site 2010 and I clicked on the 1st package install and it unpacks the original installation package and it brings up the install window install data protection manager and clicked on install and I get the following error on the redistributable Visual C++ - Redistributable package Installation of Visual C++ has no... Run vcredist_x64.exe \redist\vcredist\ to install vcredist and re-run Setup.

Whenever I tried to install the vcredist_x64.exe which was provided with the download I get the error that it cannot install, tht, there was an unexpected error.

I downloaded the redistributable Microsoft and tried to install it, but the 2010 version is already installed and I could not install the version of 2008 on the 2010 version. I tried to download Visual C++ 2008 redistributable sp1 and installed correctly but when I come back and you try to install the System Center DPM 2010 setup.exe it always tries to go to the folder with the not redistributable sp1 provided with the download and it freezes in half way through even though the correct redist "is installed for server 2008 r2 x 64.

Anyone got any suggestions? I've been searching and trying to figure out for hours and I don't see anything in the KB for DPM 2010 or technet.

You can start with a setting of the main path, but you have installed may well have added directories in the system path.

It is at least that you start:

    Path=%SystemRoot%\System32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;%SystemRoot%\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\;

To do this, you could add (if you use any Windows Live stuff)-

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared live; C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Microsoft Shared live; C:\Program Files (x 86) \Windows Live\Shared;

Something else will depend on your particular system and facilities.

My computer works fine I just want to know the solution to this issue.
    Thank you!

    Hello

    Welcome to the Microsoft community!

According to the description, it looks like an application provides an observer event log.

This error occurs is because the Service that runs is not properly managed by the computer.

This service is used when you connect to a Web site that requires Live ID authentication, as the Microsoft answers Forums.

    a. open Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services.

    b. scroll down to the Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant service and double click on this service to open the dialogue parameters .

    c. ensure that the Startup Type: is set to Automatic.

This is a common warning for some services and can usually be ignored, unless you are having problems with this component specific (Windows Live ID).

Hope this information helps. Answer us if you have problems with Windows and we will be happy to help.

  • can microsoft Systems Center essentials monitoring VMware Vms

Hi, I was looking at the microsoft Web site for more information on support for systems Center essentials microsoft. The documentation does not list the Vmware virtual machines under the list supported or not supported. Does anyone know if this product version 2007 or 2010 is supported for VMware monitoring?

    Thank you, Mark

    Hello

You can monitor your virtual machines in the same way as a physical server, and System Center can of course monitor your virtual machines.

In addition, use the VMware for System Center Operation Manager Management Pack, so you can monitor entire VMware infrastructure.  See this link:
