storage of Mac gnawed by 'others' help!
The 1 TB on my office disk has less than 50 GB of storage left. Most of it is riddled with of 'other' ~ ~ 788,6 GB. How can I free up more storage? I use OS X Yosemite 10.10.5. Thank you!
Omni DiskSweeper can locate and delete these files. It can also give you a fairer read disk space than the Finder or storage tab of the about this Mac.

I get an error indicating cc cookies dir: cannot do file / cookies: permission denied (error 13) when I tried to download the installer of creative cloud on my Mac. Can anyone help with similar pop-up window? I try to get a trial version of CS5.
You don't need to involve creative cloud to install try the trial version of CS5...
You can download the demo version of the software through the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.

Yesterday, I unfortunately pressed updated Mac notification. After that, the my Mac is almost a useless machine then.
Free storage decreased constantly (about 10 to 100 Mbps), until he reached 4.6 MB. No application can work correctly.
I tried to delete a large number of my personal files (almost 10 GB), and the App Store had updated some "security update 2016-004. For the moment, there is no update available, but the storage always become full.

You have the MacBookPro6, 2 - the Edsel of Mac. There may be the failure of logic-board that was covered by a recall program that is now complete.
The model was abandoned in February 2011. It is now classified by Apple as a "vintage product." This means that Apple will probably refuse to fix (see exceptions on the linked page.) In this case, you will need to go to an independent service provider. The part can be is no longer available, or the repair may not be profitable.
Often, the problems start after an upgrade of the OS. If the upgrade has been recently, and you have backups, you can then go back to a previous version of OS X.
Otherwise, an appointment of 'Genius' in an Apple Store, or switch to a different service provider authorized, to have the tested machine. The trial will be free to an Apple Store - unless Apple refuses to even look at the unit, as it could. Diagnoses of current equipment used by service providers don't detect the fault. There is a specific test for this number called "VST" (for "video system Test.") Ask for it. A "Failed" result means that the defect is present.
If you decide to go to an independent service provider, be aware that the replacement part may also be faulty. Some owners reported that they went up to three replacement boards before you get one that worked. Don't expect any help from Apple if you have to pay several hundred dollars for an another bad logic board and that the supplier will be replace again.
If you don't want to take that risk, or if you don't like the price you quoted, you may (or may not) be able to work around the problem by disabling automatic switching graphics. To use the separate graphics processor, you will need a third-party utility to manually switch to him.

Mac usr trying to help a friend with ext monitor
I'm helping a friend add an external monitor to the laptop.
It's a generic monitor and when I select in the Control Panel, the laptop screen instantly goes sideways, portrait, but on the side. The external monitpor shows nothing. It seems no other options in the control panel that make sense for monitor rule addin, once again, I'm a Mac user any guidance would be appreciated. The laptop is a business and I imagine is quite wise software up-to-date. I can provide details if it is important of course.

- The external monitor has been identified by the system when you connected?
- You have installed the latest driver available for the external monitor?
I suggest you follow these steps and see if it helps:
Install the latest version of the video driver
Update your drivers for your adapter display card on the Web site of the manufacturer and the device.
After downloading the drivers install them and try following the steps provided by Ronnie Vernon of the post above.

"Installation is corrupted" on Mac download cannot install, help?
I download it from the link given by adobe for my photoshop (serial No.) support. After the extension of Photoshop CS 5 download it will not be installed. It says "installation is damaged and cannot be opened you must eject the disk image." How to convert AVI files for first CS4 (Mac) with VLC - Please Help!
Hi thanks for the reading-post it here for the first time.
I'm another grass sorry, trying to convert AVI files, so I can import them into first CS4 on a Macbook Pro laptop. I am using VLC on the macbook to perform the conversion. I don't want to use free converters such as iSquint (tried and many others) b/c they cause a significant loss of video quality. But I'm trying to do it for free! (I'm broke).
Been read tons here and on other forums to get advice first, but in my view, none is really specific to my situation.
I'm fine (slight quality loss) video but NO Audio. I want the audio too!
AVI files seized on an old NV3 camera SD card.
VLC said the Codecs for these files I got off the SD card are as follows:

When converting to MP4 (MPEG-4) I get a general error while importing first so no dice on that, and I tried a lot of other configurations/combinations, but not all.I check each result with VLC before import into the Prime Minister and they play both audio & video fine with VLC.
My question is the following: what settings can I select in VLC for audio first? Or if there is a specific codec I need to download and install a download link... would be much appreciated.

If I put these files on the SD card in my camera and click on and drag them on the macbook pro laptop as AVI files (instead of dragging to a PC first, as was the case)... don't you think it would make a diff? Also, I tried sucking to the top of the camera first, but that didn't work... the camera turns on when connected to the computer... so that you can not navigate to a file on the camera and then use the GUI first to suck.
I have a laptop. These original files play well with Windows Movie Maker because I downloaded the appropriate codec. Hi and low tried a mac version of this codec without result. CS4 my install discs do not work on Windows/PC. Trust me I wish they did! Even the configuration required on the package is in the absence of any mention of Windows. Windows Movie Maker convert .mov... that was my first game b4 plan, I realized that VLC was quite robust and user-friendly in its Export Wizard codec functionality.
Any help would be much appreciated! I swear! I'm banging my head against the wall and I want to just change already!

Do not use the flow function; This isn't what you are doing. (Although technically, I don't think it matters)
Use the convert/save option. The first screening, video - H.264 + AAC (MP4), should work great. Don't change anything. Save the file with a MOV or MP4 extension.
If you get audio weird sounding, then create your own preset that matches the Video - H.264 + AAC (MP4) preset, uncheck only Audio the Audio tab and convert to video. Then run convert/Save using the Audio - CD preset. Save the file as a WAV (or an AAC?).
Import the 2 files into PR. You shouldn't have synchronization problems if the points are aligned in when you add them to the sequence.

User cannot connect to El Cap server from his mac, but can other
The user came this morning and found that it could not connect to the file (El Cap 10.11.1) server, he told her that his password was incorrect. No changes were made on his iMac (10.11.4) or on the server. All services will stop working... messages, calendar, etc.
My Assistant tried reseting password, creates a user fresh on the server with the same permissions... he couldn't connect since mac.
I tried his letters of credence on my Mac and can connect successfully... then he I thought that the server must be blocking by MAC address.
I went in the console logs, and that's what I found (shown below).
So I think I have to trash com.apple.NetworkAuthenticationHelper and force his mac to require that the appropriate credentials... but maybe I don't see something.
