Storage space, showing the storage pool is full

I have a pool of storage with 2 TB 6 which says that it is complete to 10.9 TB. When I right click and check the info, he said only 4.1 TB of data. 6.8 TB are used for parity? Is that what I can do to rehabilitate the pool?

  • Why my static PL/SQL within SQL local variable is not transformed in space in the shared pool?

    Hello everyone,

    Oracle version: 12.1.0.1.0 - 64 bit

    OS: Linux Fedora Core 17 X86_64

    Description of the problem:

    I'm reading an interesting book of online oracle named: SQL in PL/SQL

    On page 11, it reads the following:

    In the absence of a compilation error, the PL/SQL compiler generates an equivalent statement of SQL regular text and stores this with the generated machine code. This instruction uses placeholders where the embedded SQL statement uses identifiers that have been resolved in the PL/SQL unit.

    What I understand of this (please, correct me if I'm wrong) is that whenever I write some static/embedded statement SQL within a PL/SQL block in which there are a few local variables in PL/SQL, and then final generated SQL statement (after resolution of identifier) will include placeholders (bind variables) instead of these identifiers the PL/SQL.

    I just wanted to see this in practice, so I made the following test:

    Test case:

    SQL> connect / as sysdba
    SQL> alter system flush shared_pool

    system altered

    So, normally, after execution of the foregoing the shared_pool on my development environment is now empty.

    And then I run the following PL/SQL block

    <<b>>
    declare
        depid hr.employees.department_id%type := 100;
        cnt   pls_integer := 0;
    begin
        select
            count(*)
        into
            b.cnt
        from
            hr.employees t1
        where
            t1.department_id = b.depid;
    end;
    /
    --
    --
    column sql_id new_value sqlid_saved;
    --
    select
        v1.sql_id
    from
        v$sql v1
    where
        v1.sql_text like '%t1.department_id = b.depid%';
    --
    --
    select
        v1.sql_text
    from
        v$sql v1
    where
        v1.sql_id = '&sqlid_saved';

    And the result was:

    SQL_ID
    -------------
    687dxvsmrwm9z
    g17tjb3f8t94y

    6 old: v1.sql_id = "& sqlid_saved"
    6 new: v1.sql_id = "g17tjb3f8t94y".

    SQL_TEXT
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    < < b > > declare depid hr.employees.department_id%type: = 100;     CNT pls_in
    SEB: = 0; Start select count (*) in b.cnt of
    T1 hr. Employees where t1.department_id = b.depid; end;

    SQL >

    What I don't understand is the main part of the SQL_TEXT I put in red.

    Instead of

    T1.department_id = b.depid

    I expected to see something like

    T1.department_id = : B

    In other words, some bind variable, because depid is a local variable inside my PL/SQL block used in integrated/static SQL statement, so it must be converted to a reserved space in the shared pool instead of the original identifier.

    You kindly could you tell me what I misunderstood?

    Thanks in advance

    > But once again no variable binding in the stored/parsed SQL statement. That's what I don't understand.

    Submitted by PL/SQL SQL is "normalized", which includes (among other things) convert uppercase. Your query on v$ sql is looking for '% hr.employees% '.

  • Mix PS6110XS and PS6010 in the same pool?

    Hello

    We think about the purchase of a PS6110XS for a VDI project. (vmware view 5.1)

    Currently we have a San with 4 PS6010 (SATA/SAS) in the storage pool.

    Would you recommend to put the new hybrid matrix in the same pool, or should we configure a new pool to ensure THAT VDI will get the best possible performance?

    Any other consideration?

    (We do not see the performance in the existing configuration problems)

    BR

    Standal

    Unless you need the extra storage space of the existing pool, it would be a good idea to add this member in its own pool dedicated to VDI.

    Here's a case study

    en.Community.Dell.com/.../download.aspx

    This theme has other VDI information:

    en.Community.Dell.com/.../2660.EqualLogic-Technical-content.aspx

    It's a little old, but addresses the basin VDI sizing:

    en.Community.Dell.com/.../2642.Sizing-and-Best-Practices-for-Deploying-VMware-View-VDI-with-EqualLogic-Storage-by-SIS.aspx

    The other important aspect of the VDI is your SAN switch fabric, the case study has some good information on this as well.

    I transferred my photo library 47 000 iMac to iCloud. It took nearly a week, then downloaded iCloud all optimized to my iPhone photos 6 and iPad. My wife's phone has however only uploaded 20 000 photos and seems stuck. Remaining storage is equal to zero. the file of the photo and the camera is 8.4 GB on 11. We have removed all but essential applications.

    There were several thousand photos on his phone before the download starts.

    I tried to load his camera on pictures and it shows 2240 photos that were imported to the pictures already. If I could remove these, it could open enough space on the phone to continue and complete the download and optimization.

    Disable iCloud photo library before removing all the pictures, then turn it back on.

  • How to create the new storage pool?

    Hello.
    I am running windows 8 and I wanted to create a new storage pool for my personal files. but how?

    I have only 500 GB of storage.

    current storage pools:

    OS (C :) - 460 + GB)

    Lenovo (d) - 20 + GB

    Thank you!

    Hi Jerome,

    Yes, the statement means that you can use an external drive such as a hard drive or a USB drive as a storage drive. What you need to do is plug in the hard drive, go to start screen, type storage, click on manage storage. Click on create a new pool and storage space , and then follow the instructions on the screen (as shown on the link provided on the previous answer).

    Alternatively, you can also create a new partition of the hard disk volume. You mentioned that the operating system drive is 460 GB and drive "D" takes 20 GB (or more). What we can do is to create a new simple volume on the unallocated disk. If there is a disk unallocated space, we will create a new disk by taking the amount of disk space required on the unallocated disk space, and then use the new disk in what concerns your personal files.

    First of all, check if there is a disk not allocated/available in disk management. Follow these steps:

    • Press Windows + X , and then select Disk Management.
    • Check if there is a disk unallocated with readers. If you do not have a disk unallocated, then right-click on the drive (the operating system or drive "D") and select Volume Shrink.
    • Now, you'll find a disk unallocated in the lists. Click on a region unallocated hard disk, and then click New Simple Volume.
    • In the New Simple Volume Wizard, click Next.

    • Type the size of the volume you want to create in megabytes (MB) or accept the maximum default size, and then click Next.

    • Accept the default drive letter or choose a different drive letter to identify the partition, and then click on Next.

    • In the dialog box Formater Partition to format the volume with the default settings, click Next.

    • Review your choices and then click Finish.

    • Now a new drive will be created and it will be displayed in the file Explorer.

    Check if it solves the problem.

    APEX 3.2.x installation that follows is users:

    • Oracle Application Express Application user: APEX_030200
    • Oracle Application Express user files: FLOW_FILES

    So to determine the tablespace_apex and the tablespace_files you must connect with the user sys with sysdba privilege and run the following query:

    SELECT USERNAME
         , DEFAULT_TABLESPACE
      FROM DBA_USERS
     WHERE USERNAME IN ('FLOWS_FILES','APEX_030200')

    Then use the APEX_030200 user as tablespace_apex tablespace and a tablespace of the FLOW_FILES user as tablespace_files.

    I hope this helps!

    During this time... is there something that can tell me if I make mistakes?

    Tanks

    Hello

    The expdp command you listed in your first post may not work. You have exclude and include in the same order.

    Exclude said excluding these items but includes everything.

    Include says include only these objects and exclude everything else.

    If you use the command expdp of your second post, there is no tablespace objects in a schema export. Include = tablespace will only recreate the tablespaces and not objects in storage. If you want to do this, you must delete the schema = MDLOG and add the full = Y. Tablespace definitions are included in a full export.

    What is your ultimate goal? You want just the definitions of tablespace moved? If so

    complete expdp = include = tablespace directory =...

    If you want all the storage space and the objects in these storage spaces, so I think it would be 2 steps:

    complete expdp = include = tablespace directory...
    expdp tablespaces = tbs1, tbs2,... happy = metadata_only...

    You have not need of content = data_only, but you had it on two orders expdp so I guess that's what you wanted, so I added it.

    If you have a different purpose, then publish it and I'll see what I can find.

  • Local storage - lack of space for the backup snapshot?

    Hi all

    My apologies if this is an obvious question, but I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on a question I have about our ESXi server.

    We run ESXi on a Dell PowerEdge 1950 III with 16 GB Ram and 200 GB RAID 5 15 K RPM SAS for local storage - we do not have a requirement for a SAN, etc. and I understand how 'best practice' implementation of ESXi and that local storage is not recommended.

    Our question is:

    We are running very low on the amount of local storage on the server and we use a Perl script every night to create a snapshot of a VM only we want to save that copies the original VM on a separate NAS device files. Apart from slow performance, this configuration works well for us. However, during the backup of the file snapshot obviously grew up with changes that are made and once the backup is complete he writes these returns to the original vmdk file (or so I think). Can anyone tell what would happen if we managed to create a snapshot at the beginning of the backup, but the server ran out of space before the backup finishes and commit the change snapshot... it would seriously damage our original server vmdk?

    If you would like more information on our installation program please let me know but I would like some advice before embark us on this... Thanks in advance.

    Stuart Little

    If the volume is running out of space, even if you have an active member of snapshot on a virtual computer it stops running (the VM will crash) and you will not be able to commit the snapshot (free space is needed for this). Always avoid the chance of a filling volume, especially if you are using snapshots, while you probably won't lose data if you handle it properly (move the virtual machine to a volume with storage or free space before attempting to commit the snap) you will have at least virtual machine downtime.

  • Reclaim the storage space for the Index tablespace. The fastest approach

    Hello world
    My version of the database is 10.2.0.4
    I have a partitioned table that has divided the indexes that are found on a tablespace called INDEX01.
    the space allocated to the tablespace INDEX01 is about 10 terabytes, however the space used is about 1.5 tera-bytes.
    I need to recover to the level of the storage space. I decided to recreate the tablespace INDEX01.
    I did not create index scripts so I came with two approaches
    1. to move the index partitions in a different tablespace, drop the tablespace INDEX01, recreate the tablespace INDEX01 and then replace the index partitions.
    2. intentionally mark the unusable index partitions, drop the tablespace INDEX01, recreate the tablespace INDEX01 and then rebuild the index partitions.

    step 2 seems faster but I need to know if it would work and impact? (the tablespace would pass with the marked index unsable partitions) and I hope that the original table is not affected?

    Since you're talking about the abolition of the index, I guess that you have application downtime. Since this is the case, you may want to consider the fact that an index rebuild can analyze the existing index in order to collect relevant data - provides the index is not unusable, and you do not have a reconstruction in line.

    The fastest option - if INDEX01 is a locally managed tablespace - would probably be:

    Find partitions of index holding at the beginning of the file and rebuild (nologging, parallel, perhaps for speed) in a different tablespace.
    Find the clues that are 'next' in the repository and rebuild in the same tablespace. If the tablespace is locally managed, then the index will fill the empty space at the beginning of the files.
    Work on the files gradually moving toward the front of the space of tables, indexes, and leaving the 'next' bit of the empty file.
    Finish by copying back the small number of partitions of index you rebuilt in the tablespace to spare (and drop this tablespace).
    Shrink the large tablespace.

    p.s. I wrote a small script some time ago to report the measure ordering in a tablespace - it can help you to choose the order of rebuild.
