Store ALU 3.5 "issues PX1369E 1 TB external HARD drive

* PLEASE HELP! *

Hello world!
I bought this drive HARD 1.5 weeks.
At first (on XP), it worked, but when I tried to save my all (750 GB), he stopped after 50GB with the message that the disc is full?
When I tried to connect it to another PC (Vista), the system told me that the disk is inaccessible because I need to get in shape first.
When I try to do that, it says "Failed in shape" and nothing happens?
I plugged my XP system again and the same thing happens?
These problems are slowly making me crazy % #% $^ & %

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Marc.

It's strange...
What happens if you copy files on the HARD drive less? You get the same error message?

To be honest I can t say more for now, but I think that your HARD drive is defective. I mean you have tested on another PC and it's too much trouble.

You talked with the seller? Perhaps, it can be exchanged

I bought a Toshiba STOR. E ALU2 external hard drive for my laptop for girls that takes place in Windows 8.

Just seen it says windows 7 on the side of box - does this mean the product is unusable? (In which case it's a gift in the sewers of Christmas!)

Revel recommends storing your files on the computer 1. None of my friends have sufficient storage capacity. The fact only my external hard drive. How can I move where Revel is to store Photos on a Mac to an external drive? I am a teacher with many different students to the storage aid and my Mac crashes because of this problem. When I bought the award-winning teacher and student of Revel version is unlimited storage capacity. But when I installed and he wanted to have 1 computer to store files on I am now in storage issues on my internal HD HELP!

We do not have the possibility to designate a different location to store photos on the Mac. Has been suggested and we are looking for in a future version that we realize that many of the recent macs have only flash memory and it is limited. If you're runnign out of space, you can disable save originals and use an external hard drive to back up photos from your computer and other devices manually for now. I currently have a better solution for you.

I'm not aware of any version techer or student of revel, just a free version and a version of subscription.

    Hello

As far as I know the HARD and the NTFS file format disc media.
If you want to use it in Mac, you must re-formatted the system filesystem HFS + for Mac compatibility.

  • What are the advantages and disadvantages of using iCloud drive (or other Cloud services) compared with iTunes game against external hard drive, Solid State etc. to store my songs iTunes, playlists, ratings etc?

First question: what are the advantages and disadvantages of using iCloud drive (or other Cloud services) compared with iTunes Match against Solid State external hard drive etc to store my songs iTunes, playlists, ratings etc?

Please let me know what are the alternatives for storage of my songs, playlists, song etc. other than iTunes game ratings ($ 24.99 / year)?  Is there a way to store all my songs with my song ratings, playlists, etc. with a CD song quality? Most of my (currently 130 GB) songs on my computer are CD quality that I prefer to keep as well as my notes of each song (i.e. 5 * vs. 4 * etc.), playlists, groups (music, classical, popular, country etc.).  What are the advantages and disadvantages to store my iTunes songs while CD quality with my personal notes, reading lists, groupings in the cloud?  ICloud of Apple Drive ($ 2.99 per month or $36 / year for 200 GB) would be the best way to automatically update and maintain my rankings iTunes personal including the future editions of the song etc or using Amazon, IBM, Microsoft etc cloud or an external hard drive SSD would work as well and maybe cheaper?  I currently have my iTunes on a PC of 2007 with vista (I use a 1 8T Western Digital external upward by car for my personal info all over HP, songs, photos etc. which is currently close to 170 GB) but also have an Apple i-phone 6 & I Air cushion.  Although I did not need to have all of my music with all their sides, etc. available on all of my devices at all times as iTunes game, I still would have easy access to information on both my PC and my iPhone or iPad?  Thank you.

    In my opinion?

I back up my data to an external drive for several reasons.  The first is my data - if I put on the cloud, someone else has control over it, they can see what I have and change the preferences to what they see of marketing.

Almost as important as that - if I had to rely on the cloud whenever I wanted to update my playlists on my phone, I need a better internet connection I have now (working at sea).  To get the best out of the cloud, you need a solid link to home, work or mobile.

As a spin-off - I hate the fact that Apple take away a feature in their software updates and then allow an app to be sold in their store to replace this feature - or worse still, some features that were available before the updates are now "cloud only."  And Yes - you have to pay for the cloud.  I like most of the people do not appreciate the 'accomplished fact. "

From the back of the external hard drive ASI downside, is that to be safe, you need to store outside in a separate computer place.  If keep you them together, if one is lost, probably, they are both.  That is to say for me a full backup before you travel, then a new upward as soon as I go home.  Downside is how much data may be lost between the two back ups if I needed to restore.  For me, its worth the risk.  If I was away and say had bought a ton of new music and couldn't go home anytime soon, I can always head to the store and buy a new external drive, they are massively expensive.  Even if my computer has to go for repair and my remote is to halfway around the world - I want to buy a new one.

Now, some will say that once you buy a new external, you spend more than you would on a cloud subscription.  It's true, but in the 6 years following the purchase of Mac that I've only had to buy a new external once - so with a little luck and planning - it works.

I left took well - I am not a subscriber of cloud, nor do I want to be.

  • Performance issue with an external HARD drive

    Hi all

I wish you all a happy new year and good luck for 2008

I have a performance problem with a HARD drive: 3.5 inch USB 2.0 HDD with Alu - case. (320 GB of capacity)
The average copy files is about 470 KB/Sec.

When I connect the external HARD drive to my laptop (for any USB port), I have a ToolTip message: "this device can perform faster - this USB device can be faster if you connect it to a USB 2.0 port. I can assure you, my computer laptop USB USB 2.0 port.

I conneted my drive external HARD to both PC and I have the same ToolTip message: "this device can perform faster - this USB device can be faster if you connect it to a USB 2.0 port.

Is this problem known to you?
I think the problem is in the firmware of the external HARD drive.

    + Other ++ information: +.

    + OS: Windows XP Pro SP2 +.
+ USB port all tested are USB 2.0 +.
+ HARD drive divided on 4 logical drives.
+ Antivirus: Symantec. I had test with and without my antivirus. +
+ I have had this problem for 3 weeks and before that I had no problem. +

Thanks in advance & best regards,

    Hello

I got the same info after the connection of a digital camera.
    The same message appears in the taskbar. I simply disbled this message;
In Device Manager, click the USB host controller, click the Advanced tab, and then check the box at the bottom of the window that says don't tell me about USB errors.

You must do this for each USB controller listed under USB in Device Manager, so that the error message no no matter which controller is used.

I goggled for this + this device can perform faster + and got many successes. It seems that this is not a hardware problem, but simply a problem of operating system software

That s all I can suggest

    Hello

I ve bought a Store.e steel 500 GB external hard drive and I can't get large files (such as 4 GB) it wit. There is a message that says that the file is bigger that the system supports whenever I try to get a file of 4 GB, but I have 300 GB of free.
    What evil?

    I agree with user Stephen.
The file format of HARD drive seems to be FAT32, you must format the HARD disk to NTFS to be able to manage files over 4 GB.

    Hello

In aid of the Briefcase to store files does not result in data loss. However, for reasons uncertain when you perform certain actions on the files in the Briefcase on another computer data on the Briefcase cannot synchronize properly which can roll down the changes to the other computer.

  • External hard drive issues with Vista

Hi - I have a WD MyBook external hard drive with all my music and pictures on it. Today, when I hung it, my computer didn't recognize it. I have had this problem before and finally fixed by trying all my USB drives until one worked.

This time, I kept getting a message that the driver (or player?) had malfunctioned. I've tried the drive on another computer and it worked fine.
I went back to mine, it will appear in my computer, open, all records, finally got, but each folder was empty! Back to the other computer - everything was there and very well. Back to the mine - recognized her immediately but said there are mistakes that had to be fixed, ran the scan suggested, open upward, all records, everything here too. Yay!
Go to open iTunes, can't find my library. Back to My Computer, suddenly, everything in the drive disappeared again! Even the main issues.
Help! I am a total novice with the computer hardware. I tried Googling this but none of the ideas worked. Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hi midwestgirl80,

To resolve this problem, delete the UpperFilters registry value and the LowerFilters registry value. These values may cause access problems. To do this, follow these steps:

Important The method below mentioned steps show you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

322756 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756/) how to back up and restore the registry in Windows.

    1. click on Start, type regedit in start search and press enter.

    2. Locate and then click the UpperFilters registry value. This value is located in the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E967-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    3. on the Edit menu, click delete, and then click OK.

    4. search for and then click the LowerFilters registry value. This value is located in the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E967-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    5. on the Edit menu, click delete, and then click OK.

    6. exit the registry editor.

    7 restart the computer

After restarting the computer, check if the drivers are getting detected.

    Hope this information is useful.

As far as I can see that it means that the player has a problem, return it to however you bought.

  • Setting up Lightroom to store photos on external hard drive

I have a MacBook Pro with a solid state drive that does not have enough space to store my photos, so I want to put all my photos on a small 2 TB external HD Question: when I import my pictures from the camera card into Lightroom, how can I put and keep all the photos on the external hard drive? Can you please tell me how I created the HD to make...! I know that this probably isn't difficult, but I want to do it properly. Thanks a lot for your help.

Setting up an external hard drive is really very simple, I think. Of course, it must be connected to your computer. When you open the import dialog box and begin to set up your preferences, you should see the external hard drive as one of your choices. You can select the external hard drive, and then choose to import your images into a subfolder that will appoint you. Then all you have to do is to import the images and they will be exported to the external hard drive.

I currently store my pictures on and an external hard drive.  Lightroom 6 was not able to find the picture momentarily files.  I inserted an external Flash DRIVE after removing the hard drive and the computer renamed the stick with the same drive letter that has been designated by Lightroom to store my photos.  I could go into my Windows 10 and reset the player to the letter that Lightroom has given at the beginning of the external hard drive.   However, I know this can happen again, if I connect any stick USD or another device, while the external hard drive is not connected to my laptop.   I found the information that I can do the new designation of the final drive by choosing a letter it is 1/2 way or higher in the alphabet.   I would like to turn an external hard drive on a strong letter, warns we hope this previous problem.   My question is, if I already have a lot of pictures on this external hardrive with the designation of the current drive, how it becomes a higher letter and have 6 Lightroom recognizes files, now under the new designation of drive letter without having to go to each photo individually and manually force Lightroom 6 find each photo.  It would take more time than I'd like to lose.  Is there a way to get just 6 Lightroom to recognize the new disk designation has changed and is able to find all of the existing files?

I have read the ADOBE LightRoom 6 manual and seem not to be able to find anything on how to do it.

    Any help would be welcome.

    Thank you!

So in Windows, you can select a drive like q letter (or any other letter you want only towards the end of the alphabet)

Then in Lightroom, you can reconnect to the photos on q: the following instructions (see specifically 4 Figure and related text)

Recovery of DNG issue: I have photos stored on an external hard drive which have previously been imported into Lightroom and converted to DNG.  The laptop on which I was running Lightroom died and I had to replace the hard drive and rebuild the computer.  In the process of my Lightroom program and catalog related to these images have been lost.  When I re-associate these photos with my new installation of Lightroom and a new catalogue is there a way to retrieve the keywords or other changes or metadata catalogue Mountaga?  Is any of this information embedded with the imge DNG file or was it only in the cataloght lost on my failing hard drive? I re-import just as if it were new images with no prior treatment of Lightroom?

By default, LR saves all changes in the catalog, and that applies to any type of file.

Optionally, you can save changes to the file as well, for raw files owners, this will create a xmp file - for DNG that changes are going to be cooked in the file, without additional xmp file.

But it does not default. Go to the catalog and parameters under the control of metadata automatically save changes to XMP.

Unless you do this, the changes are saved only in the catalog.

    Hope this makes things clearer.

Yes.  To keep both computers synced, keep a copy of your catalogue on the EHD also.
