Strange behavior of MacBook Pro

Hello. I started watching a strange behaviour of my MacBook Pro (13 "end 2009).

As long as he's sitting on my table that is plugged into the wall, everything seems normal and usual.

But then this is the case whenever I plug my mac on the wall and out of the table. The Mac is great for a few minutes, but then the spinning wheel begins to show really often, mac becomes very slow and most of the applications do not save, for example the Notes stop synchronization with iCloud, Safari save browsing history, Dropbox stops syncing with internet, iTunes can't connect to the iTunes Store and many other things. Then, when I restart the Mac, all is well again - but there is no history in Safari, since this behavior began, notes went etc. And all is well, once again, for a few minutes...

I thought that this is because of the hard drive, I have upgraded my mac to (WD Scorpio Black 750Go), because this happens mainly because the mac is on the table. But now I upgraded my mac to 512 GB SSD and off the Sudden Motion Control via the Terminal and everything that happens again.

Someone knows why this phenomenon happens?

Thanks for all replies.

I would speculate that there is a badly tightened internal connection. It will be very difficult to diagnose.

Ciao.

  • Strange intermittent problem with macbook pro

    Hey there ppl.

So, I have a Macbook Pro (15-inch, mid-2014, retina), processor i7 2.2 GHz, 16 GB of memory. Running OS X El Capitan.

My problem is a strange, because it is only intermittently. ID say like 10-15% of the time. But its very frustrating and annoying when it does and because I am working on my computer (poker), it's also costing me. in any case, the problem usually occurs after I've been using the computer for 1, 5-3 hours or more. Usually ill be playing poker online, listen to spotify and use of the internet for stuff randomly. Everything will be fine and then suddenly ill notice that my mouse cursor will be suddenly shot through the screen occasionally. as ill be goes well with the cursor but it'll jump to the left, a couple of inches or more. Also bad note that some of my habit of 'clicks' record, so ill use the calculator for example and badly want to press 543 and maybe 5 records, but when I go to click on the 4 it does not work, and ill have to like wait a second, then click New to register the click.

Also, if im typing something, as in poker, I have sometimes to take note of the way in which an opponent has played a helping hand or whatever, a letter or a space press custom register, so ill be typing a phrase and the space bar is and I'll have to press the key once the couple , then a letter will not register, etc.. Sound very disorienting and made it difficult to continue the task IM because it does not smoothly because of the LAG, unregistered, mouse jumping, etc.

IM really not sure of what the root of the problem and what it is. Ive has run the malware anti-malware bytes, but that has not solved the problem. Usually when that happens ill try to restart the computer, or stop and return back but generally the problem persists. Then, after some time, maybe 20 to 45 minutes or so, when I try to use the computer it works normally with any of these problems.

Very bizzare. Any help or insight is appreciated, let me know if you need more information

  • Strange behavior mouse Apple in ESXi VM (Windows Server 2008R2) / ESXi host is of type nested in Fusion Pro 8

    Hello

my Apple mouse shows strange behavior when I start my VM and click in it.

Its an ESXi host nested in a virtual machine in Fusion 8 Pro.

Can someone explain it to me?

    Kind regards

    Roland

He has always had problems when using nested desktop computers, and it is simply the result of the way the mouse behaves fundamentally and how this position gets interpolated differently with nested windows VMRC.

I would just connect to the console of the VM (via vCenter) directly from the Mac, with the guest.

(the 192.168.178.42 would be accessible from the Mac and the VMRC plugin works very well).

  • My Macbook pro does strange rattling when I watch movies on Amazon using the Opera browser.  There also seems to be hot.  What is c?

My Macbook Pro does the rattling when I'm streaming videos on Amazon using the Opera browser.  There also seems to be hot.  How can I fix it?  It's the browser?

It is normal for it to become hot streaming videos. It is not the browser, but you can test by using a different browser. In regards clicking sounds that could be a hard drive (if your model has one) or a fan. If there's something to fix it should be taken for repair. You can make an appointment at the Apple Store - Genius Bar store.

  • MacBook Pro display problem

    Hello members of the community.

As of recently, I have noticed some glitches when feeding on my MacBook or awakened from his sleep.

The colors are distorted, usually with pink, green, or yellow blobs. Blobs cannot entirely replace the colors, they appear to be contained in a element would normally be. For example. the menu bar will be partially pink and white, but pink does not leave the menu bar in this area, and the Office has green lines on it.

I tried to take a screenshot, but the problem resolves in about 20 seconds, but it's a recurring problem.

It happens when I wake up, connection or not. I had also certain powers serious and problems of performance, such that my MagSafe LED would not illuminate when plugged on rare occasions, fan could turn unnecessarily, graphics performance were SUPER slow, and the health of my battery was running out quickly. I actually ran a report on the system at 2 different times and my quality of full load is depleting of 1.2% per charge cycle, which is very worrying. I went from 6281 mAh mAh 6138 maximum capacity after two cycles of load. I'm tracking closely it because at this rate, my battery will survive only at load cycles about 150 instead of the 1000 expected, gives me the idea that this could very well be a bad battery. The computer is also warm to the touch while you sleep, not connected to the power supply. I NAP active but even taking into account should not be hotter my iPhone did the same thing.

I have reset the SMC, and it solved a couple of problems. The charger works fine now and my performance improved considerably (which made me feel better, either it is a high-performance laptop, a 11-inch MacBook Air should not he surpass), and battery life has improved. I feel even if it uses a lot of power in his sleep. Maybe I need to turn off the NAP and see if that makes a difference. The graphic bug still persists however, and I don't have enough time to see if the max battery is depleting again.

In regards to the bug, is there something that can be done? Basically, I want to assure you that I took all appropriate measures or if someone else has this problem to see if it can be software related instead of my computer.

I have the entry level MacBook Pro with the retina, last generation.

    Any constructive contribution welcome!

    See you soon.

    Hello

I have this MacBook pro early 2015 13 inches. I have a problem in my laptop and that, once I never I move my form portable side by side or even if I pick it up I hear some strange noises of the LCD... I went to the apple store so they can fix my laptop... Guess what they said... the noise is very low and we can not correct it until the noise is great as you are for real noise is the noise and I am not satisfied with your service customer or if apple products this kept moving... now, the noise increases and my warranty has expired... I told them several times he responded even to write a piece of paper with apple and then we'll do something.  I don't have time to waste on everything which... I was under warranty and successor. It was for Apple to fix it no matter what the problem was... now, I can't do something else then post it here in hopes apple listening or doing something. I can't afford the new laptop or fix the screen. Why don't you have no fixed when I was under warranty?

  • MacBook Pro (15 inch, end 2013) with MacOS Sierra 10.12: kernel_task maxing out CPU with external display

I have a maxed out end 2013 the MacBook Pro Core i7 to 2.6 GHz, 16 GB of DDR3 RAM, 1 TB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce GT 750 M 2048 MB, Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB.

Also, I have a DELL P2415Q Display 24 inches (3840 x 2160) using Thunderbolt, are involved through the headphone jack and use a USB for lightning to recharge my iPhone.

I upgraded to macOS Sierra the day he is released and had no problems until this morning. I unplugged my external screen and speakers and used my laptop for about 15 minutes, the battery, and then returned to my office and plugged my Thunderbolt, rear speakers display in and my CPU shot at 100% and never came back down. My Mac is essentially useless because kernel_task is eating all my CPU and to prevent another asks to enter the CPU.

I have since audited equipment - everything was fine, reset the NVRAM and I tried to erase IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext .plist files but I couldn't on my Mac (trying to follow this guide, started in Safe Mode and everything then went to try and find the file and my Mac just does not have it). When my external screen is plugged if I'm doing anything CPU intensive (videophone, opening of Chrome, etc.) then my kernel_task gets mad again, and the only way to move is to unplug my screen. Connect my iPhone to charge the tips also my kernel_task as well. I followed my internal temperatures, and nothing was out of the ordinary, to cold currently at about 140 °.

At this point, it seems that any time that puts something on the charging system and increase the temperature internal internal components of my Mac kernel_task maxes my CPU, which brings my Mac to its knees.

Any ideas how to fix? Is this just a major bug in 10.12?

    Hi, Trent L.

Try this - problems with macOS Sierra? This fix can help you.

He got rid of all my macOS strangeness of the Sierra.

  • Trackpad MacBook Pro late 2011 does not not after upgrade

I just update the OS in my MacBook Pro (late 2011) which worked perfectly well 'El Capitan' to 'Sierra '. Everything went, smooth and pleasant. but now, the trackpad is completely erratic, is in itself (such as move and open programs like possessed). I tried several suggestions from apple such as checking for updates, check the settings, delete all the gestures, etc. I'm assuming that the material is very well that was perfectly fine yesterday... any suggestions please help.   -Note; I have to use an external mouse, and the latter is very well.

    Hello Med_,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support. It is my understanding that after upgrading to Sierra, your MacBook trackpad has become erratic. I know that my trackpad is an important part of my daily use, I can certainly understand your concern. I'm here to help get this resolved with you.

You did an excellent job so far! Then I recommend the system management controller (SMC) reset. This system can solve some unexpected behaviors. Follow the steps below:

    1. Stop the Mac.
    2. Unplug the MagSafe from Mac power adapter.
    3. Remove the battery. (Learn about removing the battery in the MacBook and MacBook Pro computers).
    4. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
    5. Reconnect the battery and the MagSafe power adapter.
    6. Press the power button to turn on the Mac.

The LED on the MagSafe power adapters could change State or temporarily disable when you reset the SMC.

Reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac.

If the problem persists, test this problem in safe mode. This will allow you to exclude the software as the cause. To help get started in safe mode and additional steps, use the steps and the link below:

    1. Start or restart your Mac.
    2. As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key.
    3. Release the SHIFT key when you see the logo Apple appears on the screen.

After the Apple logo appears, this may take longer than usual to reach the login screen or your office. This is because your Mac performs a check of directory of your drive to boot in safe mode.

To leave safe mode, restart your computer without pressing any keys during startup.

Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning

    See you soon!

  • MacBook Pro glued on the filled during boot loading bar

My MacBook Pro (end of 2011; El Capitan 10.11.5) is recently become insensitive at the point of being unusable, so I decided to do a clean install, since I had to do one for a while anyway. Once I reinstalled El Capitan, I took my SSD (Samsung 840 EVO; 500 GB) out of the enclosure and put it back in my MacBook Pro, but it wouldn't boot. As a first step, it loaded so slowly that I decided to reset the NVRAM, who ends up helping just a little. The loading bar fills now halfway to the top with the usual speed, but after that, it takes a few minutes to complete. And once it is full, nothing happens. He remains on the Apple logo and the bar filled little matter how long wait.

I also put the 500 GB SSD with the clean install in an another MacBook (Late 2008) and it works fine, so the problem must be related to hardware, I just can't determine what exactly. I tried to do an AHT, but basic and extended trials got stuck shortly after and gave me no result. I had trouble with the kernel panics, so I suspect that something may be wrong with my RAM, as I exchanged the 4 GB to 16 GB just now. But before you go out and spend money on the new RAM, I wanted to know if maybe someone runs into this behavior before and knows exactly what's going on or if not how I understand what is wrong.

Almost all of the kernel panic seemed to happen every time I was using Photoshop or video in Safari streaming. I'll post an old report of kernel panic, but a problem with Time Machine has led to the removal of all my past, with the exception of the most recent backups. I hope someone can help me find another way to understand what is wrong.

Update: I just tried it on an other SSD (same model, 250 GB) which has been working well in my older MacBook and this time I get an error message as soon as the loading bar starts to fill to the top. It remains for a few seconds, then the MacBook stops and starts again; This continues in an endless loop. I have attached a picture below.

I really don't know how exactly to interpret this, but this looks like a kernel panic for me. What is my RAM after all? I appreciate any comment on that.

Connect the SSD to the external MBP via USB and see if it will start the MBP.  If so, the internal SATA cable is suspect.

If you can get the MBP to start, then you can start to deal with panics of the kernel:

  • Macbook Pro retina does not illuminate

    Hi all

I have a 2015 13 "Macbook Pro, that will not start at all. Last night I came back after a day holiday and powered to the top of my Macbook for the first time in two weeks. The battery level was around 25%, so I plugged the magsafe and did some navigation / watching Youtube. I noticed the GET a little slow mac and a youtube video stutter a bit, but it was late so I was not too concerned and put the Mac to sleep mode by closing the lid.

This morning, after waking up, I noticed that the magsafe light was still orange, which seemed strange to me as he did pay for one night for a good 10 hours. I opened the cover, but the mac does not wake up. I pressed the power button and the computer booted. At first, everything seemed OK but the computer seems slow and internet soon.

As the bright light battery was still orange that I flew over the battery icon, which showed 100%. I unplugged the magsafe and he fell immediately to 0%, so I reconnected it. I went to make a diagnosis, however about 20-30 seconds later the computer shuts down.

Since then, he failed to power to the top of all and nothing I have try works. I tried to hold the power button down, but nothing. There is no edge and the caps lock button is not illuminated, so I know that is not a problem of display.

I left the magsafe plugged in for 4 hours, and it's still orange.

I have reset the SMC. While this life Magsafe turns green for a few seconds, and then turn the orange back.

I tried an another magsafe, which is the same, so I've reduced that as a problem.

I spoke to Apple support, who say it could be the battery and take it to an Apple store. My most close is a 150 miles round trip, and there is no reserves for the next 8 days. I'm sure this will be a hardware problem, but everyone does not accept that it is likely to be the battery? I did have problems with the battery before it and the charge went really well. Would not the Mac boot always if there was a problem with the battery while it is still plugged into the mains?

Any help or insight is greatly appreciated

  • MacBook Pro retina 15 inch heats up when it is connected to the external monitor

    Hello

My problem: When I connect my monitor (LG IPS277L) temperature of my Macbook Pro starts to heat upward. This problem often occurs when I use Facetime.

I found it really strange because I should have a pretty good Macbook Pro for this.

MacBook Pro (15 inch, retina, medio 2015)

Processor: 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7

    Memory: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics card: Iris Pro 1536 MB Intel / AMD Radeon R9 M370X

    El Captain 10.11.6 OSX

I hope that someone recognizes this problem and wants to share their solution.

When you connect to an external monitor, you use the AMD Chip for graphics (without the external screen, most of the software needs only the graphics engine Intel).  It attracts more power and therefore heats up.  All MacBook Pro for this to some extent.  This should be considered normal.  If the computer is actually overheating, it will stop.

  • MacBook Pro 2015 eat RAM

    Hi community-

My MacBook Pro 1 year eats RAM quite frequently.

With no apps running outside the finder and clean my mac, I have only 600 left a few MB in my RAM. I can't understand how to free permanently.

Fortunately, it is not a permanent thing, yet after an hour of cool, it seems that it goes. But I worry that it can become permanent if I can't understand the cause.

My past of kernal_task to ~ 800 MB when this show - seems high but I'm certainly not an expert.

Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

If you have only 8 GB of ram installed, the observed behavior is probably normal. For reference my iMac is currently using ~9.5GB of ram with e-mail, pages, a virtual machine and open a half-dozen tabs in Safari. Top users of ram is 'file caching' to 2.7 GB and the operating system (kernel_task + wired) 974 MB + 1,9 GB,.

Don't worry with most of your memory, it's just El Capitian try to simplify things in the background... Maintaining the memory low pressure is usually only a matter of concern for those of us running out of hard disks where Exchange its use should be avoided to maintain performance.

If you are still worried, I'd say EtreCheck running and display the results.

  • MacBook pro 15 2011 10 windows restart issue

    Hello

I have the macbook pro 15 2011 with intel core i7 2 GHz. 4 GB ram 500 GB drive HARD + SSD 120 GB (purchased recently with tray adapter HDD/SSD).
I have a strange problem with RESTART MAC in windows 10 company. If I restart windows by start I get a black screen with a single line: no aucun disque disk boot found, insert a floppy disk and press a key. I tried once more to restart, but the second time I pressed the ALT options and found strange thing that start menu does not show anything after a few minutes I saw recovery internet icon appeared. This problem occurs, restart windows through start or bootcamp app with option restart in mac os x. Then I stop mac and turn on, boots fine default OS (mac os x el capitan or windows) and with the option key boot menu appears with 2 choices of operating system.  Restart windows to mac os x works, simply very good.

I'll show you my not what I did for my new hardware and software installation:

    1. support usb bootable instalation with mac os x el capitan
2 changed main old HDD for a new SSD (location on hard disk)
3 installed mac os x el capitan on SSD.

4 used bootcamp to create the partition for windows
5 installed windows 10 on ssd with great drive
6 removed great player and place SSD hard disk space Super slot.
    7. installed formatted old hdd hard drive location.
8 booted system, no problem found until I tried to reboot from windows to mac os x through the bootcamp software.

I have turned off to quick start 10 Windows but did not help.
    Suggestions? Drivers, works very well

Where a problem? How can I repair the partitions or menu start-up do not start because its boring.
    IM new to macbook.
What can I test or do more?

Move your drive with Windows up to the main drive Bay and there leave. Put the OS x install disc in the Optibay. Test and verify.

There are paths in BCD, which can cause starting problems.

Can someone please give me some clue as to what I could do to fix this?  I tried to reset the SMC but no dice.
