Strange message in Windows XP

Help!

I get an error message

Can not read the ini file: ShowsSysTrayIcon.

I have no idea what it means.

ShowSysTrayIcon is a function in different applications, making them visible in the Windows taskbar if the variable is set to 1 and keep them invisible if the value 0.

This errormessage might have been caused by different reasons.

(1) incorrect program installed (abandoned or partially uninstalled only)
(2) Spyware programs which attempted to settle, but was abandoned by Antivirus software
(3) corrupt ini file of software that appears in the status bar

You could try to locate the program that is causing this error (press Ctrl + Alt + Del and check in the Task Manager for the programs that are running when the error occurs,). You can "Finish" certain processes to see when this error should stop appearing. Just make sure you cancel ONLY the processes that are allowed to stop and have been installed lately by you.

Good luck

  • Help! Switching from my PC I have this strange message

Switching from my PC I have this strange message: "this copy of Windows is not activated. In order to hold an appropriate license this copy must be enabled '...

I'm a little dubious as I have had this PC with Windows XP for almost eternity.  Don't remember exactly when I first bought. -So far - I've been perfectly happy with it and of course that all this activation of the license would have been made all these years.

Over the years there has been many installs new add on hardware like printer, scan again, new monitor etc... also install dropbox, Skype, I-tune and it still all works OK...

So why do I on my desk this permanent message telling me to activate within 3 days. In fact one day have left the warning that I was missing 2 days already...

Also, the logo of Microsoft isn't one I recognize... It is a stylized Star 5 points... Is - this all true? Can I go ahead and follow the instructions...?

Could someone re sure? If poss before 21:00 UK time tonight Sunday, March 31, 2013.

When a Google search for a file like this arises without success (as suggested by Aleander22), this almost always means that the file is malware.

The 'missing file' message usually indicates when the computer starts because you had an anti-malware application remove the bad real file (in your case arimajapimogud.dll) but not the mechanism that wants to load this file at system startup.

As a first step to download, install, update and run these two free antimalware scanner:

    MalwareBytes Anti-Malware
    SUPERAntiSpyware

If these analyses don't find and remove the culprit, you find it manually.

Because it is a dll file, it can be a bit difficult to identify the calling program, because it will have a different name.  I suggest that you download Autoruns http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx and let scanner.  When the scan is finished, click the 'connection '.  Most of the entries should be easily identifiable.  Autoruns displays a lot of information in tabs other than "logon".  Some of the elements of tabs other than the logon are critical, so do not uncheck (and certainly, do not delete) at random.

If you see something strange, Google it.  If you are not sure of an entry in the connection tab, clear the check box next to it.  Reset.  If the message does not return, you can rerun Autoruns and 'delete' of the element that you have unchecked.  If something breaks, re - run Autoruns and put the check in the box and the item will start the next time you start Windows.

  • The part of the address of the message writing window TB can cause its own adjustable frame in size as in previous versions of TB?

In older versions of TB the part of the address of the message entry window had its own adjustable chassis. It was useful that you could develop the image to see all addresses at a time and avoid errors of sending emails to the wrong people, especially when you reply to all and to remove some addresses for example answering users in the company, excluding visitors to learn sensitive information.

In the recent release you can only see three lines of e-mail addresses and use the scroll bar to see the rest of them, but you may miss the addresses during scrolling up/down. He needs more time to verify that the necessary addresses are there and it is not effective at all.

Can someone restore the setting of the address in the window of writing? Is there a plan to change this in future versions?

Please note that I use Thunderbird on Windows XP platform

Yes! Just below the slider bar formatting changes and you can increase the size of the email address area to see more addresses.

However, I liked the old style better which was more intuitive. Anyway, there is a way to do the job.

    Thank you very much!

You want to get rid of a strange message pop up asking the following:

    "Mail password required

Enter your password for (my email address) in the Internet accounts. »

(Does not sound as if the writer is English mother tongue. Sounds just "doubtful".)

Click options are 'Close' or 'continue '.

Messsage incl. the symbol in a box with a blue background. Icon seemed familiar, but I don't know where I saw him.

Bottom line, I had to reinstall my OS twice in the past year after clicking on the weird to delete pop ups. So I'm fickle. Please tell us how to get rid of it. So far I do nothing what to do, even disconnecting, seems to affect it.  It is there even when I watch a movie on Netflix.

(A few months ago I've updated to el Capitan.)

    Thank you

Always, always, first specify what operating system you are using before you begin to explain the problem.

Try this tutorial. It works for Vista and Win 7.

  • I use Outlook Express messaging in Windows XP. How can I change the "READING" of West Euro (ISO) (Windows)? (ISO is default, NO selecttion option)

I use Outlook Express messaging in Windows XP. Display Hebrew characters of the name of the sender and the subject? and the body of the message often appears in giberish (I guess it's ASCII). My ' READ' international property is Euro (ISO), West it is grayed and I have no option to Western Euro (Windows), (no drop-down option). My "send " is OK, I had a choice, and it's on (windows).

    • What were the changes made before the issue started?
I suggest you return these methods:
    Method 1:
I suggest you make a system full scan just to be sure.
Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.
    Method 2:
    a. click Start, click run, type System32.
    b. enter OK
    c. find mcenspc.dll
    d. right-click on the file, then click on Remove.
    e. restart the computer.
