Does anyone know how to remove a dvd stuck in my DVD RW drive?

    Hi Iain,

If your DVD player has a pull-out drawer, then you should find a small hole on the front panel. Carefully push a small PIN or needle into the hole and it will release the locking mechanism and allow the drawer to open so that you can remove the content.

Make sure not to push too hard or you may damage the locking mechanism.

    Good luck

  • A stuck DVD disc.

A disc is stuck in my laptop. When I press the eject button, it makes a sound but will not eject. Any suggestions?

There is no hole and the Dell laptop is not a drawer

    Hello Basseyboy,

Look carefully at your CD/DVD drive and you should see a small hole. It may be near the eject button. Now straighten a paper clip and push it into the pin hole. You may need to use a bit of pressure but the clcip of paper should trigger the release and push the draw lots and the CD/DVD on.

  • Satellite P300 - how to open a stuck DVD player?

The DVD on my Satellite P300 drive just decided that she does not want to open. I tried to use a paper clip in the small hole next to the button, but that does not work either. The LED on the drive just flashes.

Someone at - it other ideas.

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

Normally on every CD/DVD player there is a small button of relief that you can open the player with a small paper clip even the CD/DVD isn't working or the normal eject button. If you use the emergency eject button the drive opens and you can remove the CD or DVD.

Also, check the user manual. I found this inside information. ;)

  • Do not start and stuck dvd

Today my 17 "could not start for the first time, he showed as having 2% battery and exploded, so I connected the power and went to turn it on, but despite hours of trying, it continues to fail. Have you tried many suggestions how to fix online, but without success, one of them was to take off the back and if the battery is labeled do not remove to simply unplug the small rope and then re - connect but nothing works. I can hear the sound as usual, but nothing is visible, you can hear the normal sounds, but the screen remains blank. Then, I thought that I would try to insert a disc, and this has been entered, but cannot eject it. Suggestions how to run greatly appreciated.

On the disc, try these options:

    Reset SMC:

  • Replacement of HP S5 Multi DVD burner - 1110

Can I replace the S5 - 1110 GH80N DVD with HP 1270I 24 X SATA Multiformat DVD Writer?  My current drive has a blank DVD stuck in it and I wish I had the 1270I Litescribe technology.

If so, is it the same drive as the cheapest LightScribe Lite - on 24 X SATA DVD +/-RW double layer drive IHAS424-98?

To remove the stuck DVD insert a paper clip into the hole to access the disk.

  • eject the disc from the drive USB Super

Last night I unboxed my new USB Super drive and attached to my MacBookPro. I put in a DVD of registered film and was able to start playing. Then I ejected it by clicking on the disc icon on the desktop, because I was just testing how it connected etc...  Then, I wanted to see if he could save.

I inserted a blank DVD and he asked me to tell him what to save, but I didn't save. Instead, he presented another option, which was to IGNORE.

So I clicked on IGNORE. As a result, there was NO ICON ON THE DESKTOP for this drive. And the text to EJECT in menu bar is grey.

Now I am sitting here with a new USB Super with a blank CD disk stuck in it and am totally IGNORED, I asked, but what I didn't know when I asked to ignore me.

That's the problem. I disconnected, signed back in, and he has not yet cleared my instructions to ignore. So I can't eject the blank DVD disc.

Where should I go from here?

My MacBookPro is the retina, i7, 15 '' running ElCapitan, a model community 2015, I think.  I'm not on it now, but will open it to follow the suggestions for help. I'm a new converted to Apple, computing, coming from Windows, so I need the regular basic directions. Any help is appreciated.

    Hi there @tiggerthecat,

I understand that you have a dvd disc stuck in the player. I'm happy to help you with this.

Looks like you have done the basic things that are necessary, then probably you need to use the method of manual release. It will take more effort than if the player is directly accessible. You can review other methods to eject the disc as well.

I need to restart my laptop, Microsoft crashed it not me it worked perfectly until windows 10! Please give me instructions on how to restart and how to get a dvd or a Windows 7 usb download.

You may need to try using the recovery partition or borrow Windows 7 reinstall media or ask ASUS recovery media:

    Try running the recovery partition:

New computers that come pre-installed with Windows often have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling.

    ------------------------------------

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

If you know a friend with a disc of Windows 7 at retail, you could borrow them and perform a custom installation:
