Will system restore remove e-mail accounts created after the date of the restore point

    Hello Nick,

The emails and your gmail account settings would not be affected. But, if you have configured your user account in Windows 8 with the newly created Gmail account, these configurations too after the restore point then only, would be affected not the main account to the Gmail server.

I hope this helps. Otherwise, feel free to write us again for more assistance, and we will be happy to help you come.

  • Dates of the Restore Points are one month in advance

For reasons I don't understand, the date of the day on my computer was changed to one month before the effective date, for example from May 13 to June 13, 2013. As a specialist, I kept getting messages that my Microsoft Security Essentials were outdated. Later, I discovered that all the restore points created after May 13 are dated June 13. I corrected the date and have updated Security Essentials and things are back to normal, but I have several restore points, a month in advance. Restore recent points are correctly dated now, but what can I do on these wrong, before the restore points. Thank you.

If the pc works fine, then 2 options:

1 turn off the system restore, which will remove all items, reboot, restart System Restore, and a system checkpoint will be created.

    2. go to disk cleanup, use the tab options, System Restore, cleanup, it will erase everything but the last system restore points.

    Hi Francis,.

Thanks for posting the query on the Microsoft Community Forum.

From the description, it seems that the error revceive you associated with VSS snapshot.

    1. What security software is installed on the computer?
    2. Do you have any third-party backup program installed on the computer?

To begin troubleshooting, I would suggest that you do Check Disk

    • Press Windows key + R
    • Type "cmd" to open the command prompt.
    • Type Chkdsk/r , and press enter.

    Note:

If all available hard disk data can be lost when running chkdsk, as the chkdsk attempts to repair the affected area.

Reply with more information about the issue so that we can help you further.

I had the same problem with a HP dv5000 has an Intel Dual Core processor, after installed the 10 Pro Update window cleaning, after the update sent by Windows Update Service left me with this problem.

Thank you post I did check in the menu properties C: Tools.

  • Windows automatically restarts constantly, cannot access the system restore point, cannot access the computer in safe mode

    Hi all

For the not 24 hours I tried to access my computer in normal mode. When I turn on the pc, it says "configuration data 1 of 3 steps...". 0% complete"he never spent 0% and within seconds, it automatically restarts and starts again. It's so frustrating! I have a windows vista pc (purchased in ' 06). I can only access my desktop in SafeMode.

I tried to perform a system restore, but not like he says "recovery disk is not the restore point selected. What should I do? I tried to manually create a restore point, but cannot access the system and Maintenance, while in safe mode. I can't do anything but literally access the internet. How can I get Windows back to factory settings it is with these limited resources? I have a Dell reinstallation DVD.

I searched my programs and found that recently Windows automatically updated and downloaded "Microsoft Powerpoint Viewer" and "for 2007 Office system Compatibility Pack '. Now, I think it has something to do with it, because they were the most recent updates, before the pc crashed. But I also fear that it may be a virus, which has completely hijacked this PC. How am I supposed to get rid of a bug, if I can't even get the necessary antivirus?

Sorry for the ranting, but it's so stressful when my pc is completely down. Please, please please help me. Thank you in advance for reading this same!

    Thank you

    M.

    Hello

No, unless there's something wrong with the part the drive on which the Restore Points are
writing the. He would remove them is possible but unlikely. If you want to see
If drive a mistake yet not be repaired then run CheckDisk (chkdsk) and
do not check the option FIX or RECOVER. Checkdisk will then tell you if there
all errors and where they are. Then, if necessary, and there are errors, you can run
CheckDisk again with the FIX (/ f) and necessary RECOVERY options (/ r).

To simply check the drive without affecting it uncheck the boxes here displayed in method 1
#8 and then no data will be affected if there are any errors found.

How to run the check disk at startup in Vista

    ======================================================

CheckDisk will show its results with a report on the screen but if you wanted to
read the newspaper subsequently use these methods.

    CHKDSK (short for Checkdisk)-<-- see="" the="" vista="" log="">
    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/chkdsk

Journal of checkdisk is EventViewer which is easy to read with MyEventViewer utility.

Look in the Event Viewer to see the newspaper.

Control Panel - Classic view - administrative tools - event - left panel - Windows logs Viewer - under the

good Panel - Wininit event - click on the event properties - new window will open with the journal you want.
Scroll as needed. Event ID is 1001.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you clear the log before you checkdisk annex, it is easier to find but by time and Date
    should be easy enough.

Are you able to restore system successfully on a different date, or that you get the same result?  I looked through this thread and was curious to know why you want to perform a system restore?  Having other issues in addition to what you have described?

Try to make a last good known Configuration and see if you are able to perform a system restore.

    MARKTRAVIS

    Hi Mark,

I appreciate the efforts that you put to publish the query on this forum.

However, it would be better if you can provide some details related to the query:
    (1) is there a third party security software installed on the computer?
    (2) there the restore points that are created on the computer before this problem?

System Restore automatically recommends the last restore created before a significant change like installing a program point.

To store restore points, you need at least 300 megabytes (MB) of free space on each hard disk with the system on Protection. System Restore can use up to 15 percent of the space on each disk. As the amount of space fills up with restore points, System Restore deletes older restore points to make room for the new.

You can also follow these steps to increase the memory allocated for the restoration of the system:
    (a) press Windows and Pause Break to open System Properties.
    (b) click on the System Protection option.
    (c) click on each disc.
    (d) click on Configure.

The settings above, you can also check if there are restore points available on the computer. Click System Restore, and check if you are able to find restore points.

To solve the problem, if you have installed a third-party security software on the computer, I suggest you temporarily disable and check if it solves the problem.
Important note: Security software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

  • After the restoration of my PC, my internet now wks but the other internet account user has clear closing down

I had problems with my internet after adaptation movies via A / V inputs.  After several hours I reset my PC to factory settings.  Now, I can get the internet as the administrator of the user. But when I created user account my wife that we are unable to connect to internet, it keeps closing.  However, the internet is connected.  I can't get into AOL on behalf of users,

    Hello

My first question is have you run a virus scan on the computer since the restore to factory settings? That would be my first suggestion.

Second, have you tried to boot mode safe mode with networking? See the profile of your wife is able to connect then? Also, it's a good idea to run a scan antivirus in Mode safe as well.

Finally, what web browser do you use? Is that what you mean by "it keeps closing," maintains close the web browser? If so, that could suggest a problem with the browser itself, or maybe (however unlikely) the security settings for the user account of your wife.
