my computer will not install the update of security for Windows XP (KB2481109)
Moderator before go Note: IE8.
-----my computer will not install the update of security for Windows XP (KB2481109) can you help me.
Hello
(a) don't you try to install the update manually?
(b) you get any error message?
(c) don't you make changes to the computer until the problem occurred?
(d) what anti-virus software is installed on your computer?
I suggest you try the steps below and check if it helps
Method 1:
If you have installed a security software on the computer, then I suggest you to temporarily disable a software antivirus installed on the computer and check if the same problem occurs
Note: Please make sure that you activate the software of Antivirus\Firewall after the test to keep your computer protected.
Method 2:
I would say as you try to perform the clean boot and then try to install the update and check if it helps, here is the link:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353
Make sure that return you the computer to a normal startup mode once it's done.

Why the bottom of the PDF "password-security settings" window get cut?
The bottom of the PDF "password-security settings" window is cut on my 13 "laptop screen Samsung.
The window is not adjustable and it exceeds the size of the screen of my laptop.
I used the tutorial as a guide to guess where my cursor was on the 'OK' button so I would know when to press Enter and engage the password.
I use a trial version of Acrobat Pro DC. This glitch will continue on the full version?
My operating system is Windows 7. Everything else in Acrobat works very well so far.
Thank you, Kate
There were messages to this topic on this forum in the past, but they were, I think for Mac, no windows, and I think that the problem has been fixed in the latest versions of Acrobat/Reader XI. It seems that he jumped to the top of back. What is the size of the screen of your laptop and the screen resolution. If you change the resolution of a superior the problem goes away (I understand that may not be comfortable for you, but just as a test)?

Cannot install the update of security for Windows XP (KB2686509)
original title: why my XP pro does not accept the following security update? Update security for Windows XP (KB2686509)
Hello
I'm not really very good which is why I chose to use automatic updates. I recently got 'updates are ready for your computer' and when I start to download it stops pretty quickly and said:
The following updates have not been installed.
Update security for Windows XP (KB2686509)
Is there a wat to fix this problem without needing to know the registrys etc.
Thank you
Mick
See my post on the third page of this topic which contains detailed instructions for anyone with this problem. Go to the bottom of this page and click Next until you get to page three.
Thanks for the update Mick. You should be able to double-click the file to open it in the command prompt. I did not write the script, so I can't tell you why you were unable to launch it by double clicking. Right click and choose to run it in command line will still work.
@ Icom756pro I do not work for Microsoft, then you would be best suited to forward your complaint directly to them. I understand your frustration, however. I can only recommend that you try the script that I've linked to page 1 of this topic. If this does not resolve the problem then simply hide the update. You should not be prompted to install later.

The center of security and Windows Firewall does not.
I run MSE and Windows Firewall. The Security Center will pop up and tell me my firewall is disabled and I'm unprotected. When I check the recommendations, sometimes it is still on! Other times it is turned off, turn back on and someday or later does it again. This is what would serve turn off my Windows Firewall or give false information on it power status?
Hi saltydad,
From the description, even if you use MSE does participate or part of this problem. It is a problem between the Security Center and Windows Firewall.
First, try the following fix, as he helped others with a similar problem: http://social.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/onecarefirewall/thread/c0ca9eb2-14b0-4591-be85-4b7fd1700191/.
If this does not work, please repost it here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/security?page=1&tab=all&tm=1300700638376 and to the top where it says Windows Version uses the dropmenu to choose your version if you go on the appropriate forum for your system. They will be more than happy to help you with these questions.
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

Hello all, I tried all the solutions advocated for the update to install drm security or for the upgrade button to not be gray, but I've tried every solution that includes the deletion, rename the file drm in the data of the program, the whole kit and the shebang and nothing worked or helped upgrade the drm from windows media player. I am subject to end here, because the upgrade of the drm is the only thing that will allow me to use my digital copies of movies that I bought and who have a digital copy of the film included with the purchase. Honestly, I don't know what else to do to reset the drm or use security update site Web component. I even tried to delete the drm registry entries and I get a failed to remove the error message. If someone could help me get the upgrade of the safety component, I would be very happy.
I realized what it was. the upgrade of the windows security component is not I repeat is not compatible with the preview of consumer of windows 8. I had to reinstall windows 7 to work.

Cannot install the fix for security for Windows 8 (KB2909210)
I tried dozens of times to install the latest updates of Windows 8 to my computer and nothing works. My computer refuses to install with the Windows automatic update. Whenever I try, I get a message that says no: 'No update available,' with a bar of green on the side, as if everything is OK.
THEN, the Windows Update window updates and even once, I get a yellow shield, exclamation mark in the middle and a message that says I still have 38 updates important to install and 2 in option. So I decide that very well, since it refuses to work, why not go to the Download Center and try to install each patch or update individually and manually. For example, I went to the download page manual for upgrading security in the title of this message, KB2909210 - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=41800. I select English and click on 'Download' and following the instructions. A new window opens (I use Firefox) and it asks me if I want to open the file with the stand-alone Installer Windows Update (default) or save the file. If I choose to open the file directly from this point or save it first and then open it with the WUSI, I receive a new message, the red giant 'X' well displayed prominently, which says "Windows Update Standalone Installer" in large blue text below, "the update is not applicable to your computer."
POPPYCOCK! This specific update was listed when I tried to use the automatic feature of Windows Update in Control Panel. As I said earlier, I tried several times to install it in this way, but he refused to install. Also fails the manual route through the Download Center. Apparently, there are updates of security to 2012 (!) who do not and will not be installed.
Help! I already did a restore of the system more than a month after my hard drive has been corrupted. I made then a system reset to start over with what I thought would be a totally clean machine. Now, it seems that my hard disk is permanently damaged. Therefore, Windows refuses to properly update and patch up many vulnerabilities and security flaws. I'm tired of this. Help me to redo my computer safe and trustworthy!

Have you tried the standalone version of the software update and run the tool. Now it's time to check if something is the cause of the problem for example security applications or other programs.
