• Stuck trying to finish a workflow

  Hello, I hope I am posting this in the right place. This is my first attempt using Automator and I think I have about a defined workflow, but I can't figure out how to ask it to perform the last steps. I have a text file with a list of URLS. I want to tell automator to open the terminal (I can do) and then run a command for each url listed in the text file. I can't understand how to separate the list of URLS one or line-by-line in order to run a command on each of them separately. What should I do to achieve this? I thank very you much for your time.

  The action "Run Shell Script" has a menu option entrance Pass. Select as arguments in this menu. The entry will become the positional parameters of your script.

• Best workflow between Photos and Lightroom

  I visited the issue of the digital workflow many times over the years and opening was probably the best answer, alas. Now that we're stuck with much smaller pictures, I have to balance the desire to snap on my iPhone and take serious pictures, usually on my travels. So I designed a workflow to integrate the two activities and use my iPhone/iPad as my tools 'display '. The problem is that it is rather bulky. So I share below in the hope that others will comment and perhaps offer a best... Here we go:

  1. Import maps memory on computer, rename the shoot/import in Lightroom 6
  2. Do a quick reform of the iPhone photos (say for a given trip), then import them into Photos then export to the desktop, then import them into Lightroom 6
  3. Do all the editing and key-wording in Lightroom
  4. Select 'gatekeepers', mark them for export. Select photos from the iPhone that have not been edited (i.e. just renamed/key-wording) and preparing to export separately in the originals because that Lightroom creates much larger than the original jpg
  5. Export files jpg on computer to the majority or the photos + original iPhone photos (they will have names new, metadata, etc.).
  6. Delete the originals of Photos
  7. Import all of the Photos
  8. Run facial recognition
  9. Normally synch to iPhone/iPad

  Any idea on how simplify/improve on it?

• Invoke a workflow with Pages of a workflow with Fragments

  Hi, I am a newbie in the ADF and my first time posting here. I designed an application that consists of an accordion panel on the left, with a dynamic region on the right, whose content changes in a fragment of a different page depending on what choice the user clicks on in the Panel of the accordion. So far so good. Everything seems to work well.

  Some of these fragments that appear on the right side have buttons that need to call jsf pages (fragments of not). But here's where I'm stuck. I tried to create a workflow to represent this type of navigation, but anyway, I tried to do it themselves with the error that I can not reference a page of a workflow that consists of fragments.

  How can I make a call to another page, from a button in a page fragment, using workflow?

  The problem is that trying to navigate to a full page of a region. You can use a parent navigation which then calls the other workflow. Another option you can try is a goLink or goButton with the blank target to open a new page or tab.

• Deployment of BCC stuck

  A project that was created got stuck in step "approve the deployment project to the target of the staging. I went to/atg/epub/messaging/PublishingMessageSource of the instance of the BCC in dyn/admin to send the message of failure of staging manually to get the project is once again, but when I click on the 'send deployment Message complete', I get the following error:

  I already gave my dyn/admin user all roles defined in the SecurePublishingRepository, which is what I needed to access the start page, but it seems to 'lose' the rights I am trying to send the message to the cause of error to display.

  Does anyone know how to fix this?

  In fact I didn't know that there are a few sample kickstart in the LinuxGuestAgentPkgs.zip.

• REST > JSON > Workflow

  I learn the vRO and I'm stuck with trying to get a REST request to complete successfully a particular workflow. I followed the tutorial here (http://www.vcoteam.info/articles/learn-vco/268-how-to-use-the-rest-api-to-start-a-workflow.html) to apply successfully for a REST to my server vRO. I would like now to take a step further and use the REST api to kick off one of the included workflow (get the VM Uuid).

  Following the same steps in the tutorial above, I can start the workflow (get VM Uuid) via a call to REST. However, it fails with the following error:

  Workflow: Get VM Uuid / Get VM Uuid (item1): java.lang.RuntimeException: ch.dunes.model.type.ConvertorException: could not convert an object, reason: finder not found for type: null

  Now, after my research I believe that I need convert/wrap the JSON data in an output format appropriate for the script 'Get VM Uuid' but I don't know how to do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  The problem with your body of the request is that you try to specify the virtual input by name object ('testvm', of type string).

  Instead, you must specify the parameter with id and the type of virtual machine. Here is an example request body:

  Note that the value is not of type string, but type object-sdk. The other part of interseting is the structure of virtual machine id - it has the id/host idformat, where host is the address of the vCenter, the virtual machine management and id is the ID of the virtual machine (usually looks like vm -).

  If you don't know what the exact id of your virtual machine, you can find it by selecting the virtual machine in the browser of the client Java vRO inventory.

  On the other question - recommendations about what kind of books you want? Books on Javascript? Or books on vRO, JSON, REST?

• Workflow to create the prefix of Group/business machine

  I'm working with vRA 6.2.1 and vRO 6.0.1 (as external device) creating a unique workflow that I can use to replicate my test environment in which concerns the creation of tenant and configuration. So far, I have a global workflow consisting of several workflow of the vRA plugin that will create the tenant, adding banks of identities and administrators and then create the Group prefixes and fabric machine, this set works very well but I am stuck at the next step which is to create my group of companies. I want the workflow the prefix machine created in the previous step as an input in the phase of establishment of business groups, the idea is there is no administrator aside from entry to start the global workflow, but out of the box two workflows have different formats for the id attribute of machineprefix (vCACEntity and vCACCAFE (: MachinePrefix), and I can't find a way to convert that properly passes the value of the id for the Group of companies to create workflow.

  The search of the web and this forum has provided two different threads around using a task scriptable between the prefix machine create and create workflows group, I have tried both and doesn't seem to work for me. The first I tried was a simple one line saying createdMachinePrefix (vCAC:Entity) = convertedmachinePrefix(vCACCAFE:MachinePrefix) and the other was a script based on the vCACCAFEEntitiesFinder (https://communities.vmware.com/message/2453675), but these two cause the error TypeError don't call method getId null (the dynamic Script Module name: createBusinessGroup #3).

  The problem is obviously that the id of machineprefix is not correctly converted/passed to the workflow to create business group, because if I put that to use an entry for the prefix id and type manually in when I run the global workflow, it works very well, so the script task isn't generating errors, but is not giving me the result I need to be. Also when I look at the variables tab that runs the overall workflow, I can see the MachinePrefix variable in the format of vCAC:Entity as a guid, but shows vCACCAFE:MAchinePrefix that is not I think brings up that I found her correct the cause of the problem.

  Can someone help me find the solution, I'm sure it's just me missing something obvious, but I am new to Orchestrator and learning as I go along.

  What I do is after the element to create a MachinePrefix, add a script with the following task:

Otherwise, it seems that MachinePrefix has an id property, you can use instead of the name when searching for the right one...

• How do the entries in the workflow work?

  I'm trying to configure a workflow where the entrance is a single virtual machine.

  From there, I have a Scriptable job that gets the VMS cluster name and fqdn vcenter.

  I would like to provide this information to a "Invoke a Powershell script ' which will be then to reach out to a rest API (currently a static IP address) and pull back some information and paste it into a table.

  Using this dynamically generated table, I would like to invite the user to select an item in the table I just generated.

  I thought that if I linked entries to different tasks scriptable, which would make, but it doesn't seem to work that way.

  It should be possible to do with data binding in the presentation of the workflow.

  You can create a workflow with 2 input parameters, the first of type VirtualMachine and the other of type string. The second parameter must be a presentation property 'List predefined elements' associated with an action that has the array/string return type and an entry of type VirtualMachine. In the property editor, change the generated GetAction (...) expression that invokes the related action and add the first parameter of workflow as input. It should look like

  GetAction("your.action.module.name","yourAction").call (#vm)

  assuming that the 'virtual machine' is the name of the parameter of your workflow.

  Therefore, whenever the value of the first parameter is defined, will be called the related action. This action will analyze the setting entry to the virtual machine, reach out to your api through powershell and return a list of groups like the array of string which appears as a drop-down list box in the second parameter of workflow and you'll be able to select a group from there.

  The only downside would be if your recovery of group via powershell code takes too long. In this case, the user can get a perception that the presentation of the workflow is stuck.

• Runaway WFStubBuildingMachine workflows delay and loops

  I have a situation that has occurred most likely because the workflow ExternalWFStubBuildingMachine heel vCO was traded while six requests for VM service were in flight.  Now I have these VMs stuck in the WFStubBuildingMachine workflow and a loop several times per second.  I got a load of truck full of marbles and generate several times per second - and says exactly:

  The machine, BuildingMachine State: InvokeRepositoryWorkflow, intercepted error: Machine, BuildingMachine of State: InvokeRepositoryWorkflow. Workflow repository WFStubBuildingMachine has expired.

  I tried everything I know.  These include the following:

  Restart Manager, DEM and vCAC Agent services

  A ran vCO workflow to remove the change of stubs on all WFStub workflows

  Restarted the entire stack (fortunately - pre production)

  Devulcanization back the WFStubBuildingMachine to an older revision in the DSA

  Tried to destroy the machines in computing resources (results in error)

  Deleted VMs in vCenter

  Tried to move machines to calculate/reserve different (resulting in error)

  Attempt to delete plan (but combines these virtual machines as managed objects)

  The bucket of entity property on these look to fall VMs and VMs listed as 'Unknown' in calculates resources > manage machines.  I don't know where to live these jobs or if the only solution takes the tongs for the SQL database.  I was hoping for a command line utility force them to kill these jobs but can't find nothing relevant.  This does not affect any functionality but eventually the file system will explode from overdose of newspaper.  Any help is appreciated.

  Your best bet is to first stop the DEM services until you remove the items from the database then:

  As you say it take tweezers to the database.  You can see what is in the DynamicOps.RepositoryModel.WorkflowInstances table and delete all the related entries and then go to the dbo. VirtualMachine table and delete the entries for the machines.  There may be dependencies, you need to maybe follow and remove as well.

• In and out of After Effects workflow

  I'm just starting to learn how to use after effects CC, with the help of the associated Adobe "Classroom In A Book" to help me get started.  Of course, I can't wait to start using AE myself with my own projects, but this raised a question I can't find the answer to.

  First, apologies if I posted in the wrong forum, I target the AE forum because it's where I stuck and therefore the question.  Basically, it's global workflow. Before I ever used After Effects, I would like to organize my video clips and do whatever he had to completely within Premiere Pro. In the end, my Premiere Pro project finished would be exported outside Media Encoder and the work done!

  If I'm working on a clip in Premiere Pro that I feel needs work done to it in After Effects, I stop work in Premiere Pro and work on this video in After Effects, bringing back the clip ended up in Premiere Pro?  Can I complete my project in Premiere Pro and import the video finished in After Effects, resumption of work on the sections of the finished video in need?

  Wise, I'm not sure how to follow the workflow process.  I work always in advance what I want my video (finished) to be, and when I was working with Premiere Pro, it's pretty simple. I know earlier how effectively when After Effects becomes cause.

  As Mylenium said, you are essentially working on your effects shots the effects of way shots were always worked on. Since the time of Georges Méliès and other pioneers of the film industry, you change the hardware, you need to create your first Cup or a rough cut of your film, then you decide what plans or sequences needing effects, then you send these shots for the Department of the effects for them to work on it. Only the tools have changed. What was initially a couple rewinds, a viewer and a connection block became the NLE. Animators, matte painters and effects special departments have been changed to the composition and movement of graphic products such as AE and Nuke. The workflow, has not changed. Beginners usually gum up the workflow and work not as effectively as they could, but an effective production process is always the same. Script, plan, program, repeat, block, pull, rough cut, add special effects, refine the cut, make the final mix, make the final color of ranking and make the film.

  For simple effects, you can use dynamic links to simplify the move your effects of AE work and back to Premiere Pro, but I recommend any drawn effect that requires more than a half hour to complete to be returned and replaced the images in AE by your rendering. Be sure to include enough handles on your effects shots so you can refine the editing for final assembly.
