Style of separator line

Hello
How can I change the style / type / watch a separator, I had a dotted line and I need a complete range, I looked at the CSS reference without success
any help?
Thank you

In looking at caspian.css in sdk/rt/lib/jfxrt.jar provides the following styles for a separator.

.separator {
-fx-skin: "com.sun.javafx.scene.control.skin.SeparatorSkin";
}

.separator .line {
-fx-border-style: segments(0.166667em, 0.166667em);
-fx-border-width: 0.083333em; /* 1 */
}

.separator:horizontal .line {
-fx-background-color: null;
-fx-padding: 0.083333em 0.0em 0.0em 0.0em; /* 1 0 0 0 */
-fx-border-color: derive(-fx-background,-20%) transparent transparent transparent;
}

.separator:vertical .line {
-fx-background-color: null;
-fx-padding: 0.0em 0.083333em 0.0em 0.0em; /* 0 1 0 0 */
-fx-border-color: transparent derive(-fx-background,-20%) transparent transparent;
}

Maybe make your own stylesheet to replace some of these parameters with the style you want.

• Style error - red line

I got a request to make the red line around an invalid entry to be thicker. Is it possible to change this with a style? Or maybe to make the error pop stay upward?

The borderThickness (borderStyle should be 'solid' to make it work) and focusThickness styles can be used to adjust the thickness of the red line.

As these styles affect the normal functioning of the component we must also override the setter for errorString and set the required styles (and revert their back) here.

• Unable to apply the class style to the line of the table?

created a class style with pad of 10px on only right & vertical alignment at the top.

I want to apply this class to a table row - but when I do - I get the correct vertical alignment - but none touch.

If I apply the same class style to each td cell - then the alignment and buffer work.

I have a stupid mistake? There are 40 cells of td in the rank - so it would be more quickly just to apply the class to the whole line. any ideas what I am doing wrong? much thanks in advance.

And by the way, the best way to proceed would be next, using a
descendant selector-

.padThis td {vertical-align: top; padding: 10px ;}}

...

Now, all thetags thatwill be filling and alignment
you want.

• Paragraph style, first line "BOLD"

Hi all

I try to give a column in a table definition in which the first line is "BOLD" and the rest of the cell is not, like this:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2 3 column cell

Name of the company
Address

Address

2 4 column cell

Name of the company
Address

Address

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't know if this is even possible, but it would be a great help.

I apply the paragraph as follows to the second column:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

myTable.columns [1].cells.everyItem () .texts [0] .applyParagraphStyle (contentText);

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's the paragraph contentText:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

contentText var = myDocument.paragraphStyles.item ("contentText");

Try

{

var contentTextName = contentText.name;

}

catch (MonErreur)

{

contentText = myDocument.paragraphStyles.add({name:"contentText"});)

}

contentText.appliedFont = "Arial";

contentText.fontStyle = "Regular";

contentText.pointSize = 10;

contentText.spaceAfter = 10;

contentText.spaceBefore = 10;

contentText.fillColor = myDocument.colors.item ("Black");

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Is there a way to leave only the first line to be bold?

Thanks in advance,

Greetings

Hello

You can work with a line for your paragraph style style, if your lines of text are not separated by the sign of paragraph as in a good example shown here:

If your text is composed as in the example on the left using signs of paragraph, you need a paragraph style distinct for the first paragraph with Arial Bold.

As already noted Willi Adelberger.

Example for adding a nested line style:

var doc = app.documents[0];

// Your paragraph style name that later should contain a line style:
var paraStyleName = "contentText";
// For defining a line style we need a character style:
var charStyleName = "FirstLineBold";
// All properties for the paragraph style:
var paraStyleProperties =
{
name : paraStyleName ,
appliedFont : "Arial" ,
fontStyle : "Regular",
pointSize : "10 pt",
spaceAfter : "10 pt",
spaceBefore : "10 pt",
fillColor : "Black"
};
// All properties for the character style we need for the line style:
var charStyleProperties =
{
name : charStyleName ,
fontStyle : "Bold"
}

// Check, if the needed styles are there:

// The paragraph style.
// using IS NOT VALID is recommended
if(!doc.paragraphStyles.itemByName(paraStyleName).isValid)
{
var paraStyle = doc.paragraphStyles.add(paraStyleProperties);
}
else
{
var paraStyle = doc.paragraphStyles.itemByName(paraStyleName);
paraStyle.properties = paraStyleProperties;
};

// The character style.
// using IS NOT VALID is recommended
if(!doc.characterStyles.itemByName(charStyleName).isValid)
{
var charStyle = doc.characterStyles.add(charStyleProperties);
}
else
{
var charStyle = doc.characterStyles.itemByName(charStyleName);
charStyle.properties = charStyleProperties;
}

// At this point we have a valid paragraph style and a valid character style.
// Now let's add a line style.

/*
Note and warning:
In case the paragraph style already has one or several line styles we
have to either remove them to get our new line style at "pole position",
because there is no move() method to bring a new line style up in the stack of line styles.

Or we have to redefine the first line style. Which is done below.

About removing line styles:
Tested and is not working with CS6. Could be a bug.
paraStyle.nestedLineStyles.everyItem().remove()
So I think it is best to loop through and remove them one by one.

*/

// Redefining the first line style if there is already one.
// Else add a new one.

// Note: Using the properties-property is not working here:

if(paraStyle.nestedLineStyles.count()>0)
{
paraStyle.nestedLineStyles[0].appliedCharacterStyle = charStyle;
paraStyle.nestedLineStyles[0].lineCount = 1;
}
else
{
paraStyle.nestedLineStyles.add({appliedCharacterStyle : charStyle , lineCount : 1});
}

• EPub - how to add invisible hyperlinks + lines of separation?

Hello

I use Indesign to create an epub.

I would like to add a link that will take you to another section, but I don't want the other section that you are taken to a different aspect (e.g. as a blue link). How arrival point invisible?

How can I add a black dividing line that separates a part of one chapter of another? Ive thought to use the underscore character or less symbol but output will be different on each ereader. I don't want a black line which is spread over two lines.

Val

Hypertext links often have an appearance in an EPUB. You want there to be some change if someone knows to click. But the destinations don't look otherwise.

As for the creation of black separation lines, I personally don't think that would look very good. Usually, you want sections or chapters to start on a new page. There are two ways to do this. You can use the export settings to choose a paragraph style that causes a page break. Or, if you do a book, each file in a book will start on a new page.

But if you want to use a rule, you need to learn more about CSS to do the formatting. You can do that in InDesign. I would suggest books of Elizabeth Castro at this address:

EBooks - EPUB directly point shaped

Or watch videos of Anne-Marie Concepcion on Lynda.com.

• GLITCH INDESIGN: Create an XML of the Indesign layout file - issue 'to help more of a line GREP' & "Match Styles to tags"

I currently create XML to InDesign CC by Map Style to tags.

-Paragraph Styles are manually apply to the text. These styles include several lines of GREP to automatically apply character styles.

-J' have some paragraph styles and character correspond to predefined tags that have the same name "match the Styles to tags.

I found through troubleshooting only InDesign is incapable of "match Styles to tags" for more than one line of GREP. So I chose what GREP to automatically tag line and lines to manually tag.

Please can someone help, I need maps automatically tags at least two styles of character in a paragraph through GREP.

Thank you

Ok. Best I can suggest running a search/replace like this:

Which will apply in fact the character style to italic (and I'd do the "BOLD" as well just to make sure). Then run the map Styles to tags, using the application by name. Who will score the italics.

I don't know why ID can map to the "BOLD" and not the style of italic character. It should make them both (in this case) or none at all as character styles are not actually applied by the grep, just the design of character styles.

• Thick border line between two columns

Hello all;

I have a requirement where the user must be able to distinguish between two columns hnce asking a thick line, rather than the usual 'by default'.

Everything is 'Default' until then.
I clicked on properties of the 1st column and in the section "Border", I chose "Custom" and made the right wall of the cell in black color.
I see a thick border now, but it has eliminated the 'default' border separating lines. His party make the entire column look like a single cell.

I don't want any change with the exception only of the border of a column of a black line.

Any help is greately appreciated.

• Bad alignment of the column header separator and separator columns in mx:DataGrid.

Hi all

I use a mx:DataGrid control in my project of extension for InDesign CS5/CS55.5/CS6. I personalized the style attributes of the DataGrid control to change its appearance as shown in the following image.

Question: As we see in the picture that after changing this style attribute separator column header is not aligned with separator of columns of the DataGrid body (more clearly shown in the zoomed image).

OK, the header separator is 2 pixels wide and that's why he is not in line with the separation of body that is only 1 pixel wide.

Thank you. I solved the problem by adding a 'programming skin' based on 'mx.skins.halo.DataGridHeaderSeparator' that I defined for 'headerSeparatorSkin' mx:DataGrid property.

I also tried adding a 'graph skin' by using a PNG image with a width of line 1 file x 22 pixels. This fixed the misalignment, but another problem because of which the last separator becomes 2 pixel wide while all others were 1 pixel wide.

Here I post my code snippets for others,

1. Add a new MyDataGridHeaderSeparator.mxml file for programmatic skin as follows (for example in the View.skin package).

override protected function updateDisplayList(unscaledWidth:Number,_unscaledHeight:Number):void {}

The line width value 1 pixel to draw lines 1 pixel wide divider.

graphics.lineStyle (1, 0 x 000000);

Go from x = 0 to x = 1 to solve the problem of misalignment.

graphics.moveTo (1, 0);

Draw the line of separation of (1,0) (1, unscaledHeight).

graphics.lineTo (1, unscaledHeight);

}

And then simply set the property 'headerSeparatorSkin' of mx:DataGrid to this skin, for example inline definition property as below,

• Separator and CSS

Hello

Everyone knows how to change color (line) of a separator?

-fx-base does not work.
-bumble fx-border-color.

Thanks in advance...

Here's the relevant part of the caspian.css. Note that this is the .line style that specifies the style of the dividing line. You can extract the caspian.css of jfxrt.jar.

.separator {
-fx-skin: "com.sun.javafx.scene.control.skin.SeparatorSkin";
}

.separator .line {
-fx-border-style: segments(0.166667em, 0.166667em);
-fx-border-width: 0.083333em; /* 1 */
}

.separator:horizontal .line {
-fx-background-color: null;
-fx-padding: 0.083333em 0.0em 0.0em 0.0em; /* 1 0 0 0 */
-fx-border-color: derive(-fx-background,-20%) transparent transparent transparent;
}

.separator:vertical .line {
-fx-background-color: null;
-fx-padding: 0.0em 0.083333em 0.0em 0.0em; /* 0 1 0 0 */
-fx-border-color: transparent derive(-fx-background,-20%) transparent transparent;
}

-fx-border-color is four values of painting - one for each side of the border. In other words, the syntax is:-fx-border-color: .
Here, we see that the color of the horizontal line represents 20% of the - fx - background of the edge top and transparent for others. For the vertical line, the color of the line is still 20% of the background color - fx for the edge right and transparent for others.

You have a few options here. One is to create your own stylesheet and provide your own style.

.separator:horizontal .line {
-fx-border-color: red transparent transparent transparent;
}

.separator:vertical .line {
-fx-border-color: transparent red transparent transparent;
}

Or you could do this in your style sheet and you will get 20% of red for the color of the line:

.separator .line {
-fx-background: red;
}

Or you could .setStyle ("background - fx -: Red ;") on separator instance. ") But note that this option overrides the value of - fx-background for the separator as a whole, not only the line.
