Subscription to a folder and all subfolders (folders_g)

For a content server WebCenter 11 g using folders_g, I have a requirement to allow users to subscribe to a folder. This means that a user should receive an email notification when any content in this folder (and subfolders) changes.

With a subscription of criteria I know I can create criteria based on the dCollectionID of the file, but that only fires for content in the top-level folder. In addition, subfolders are constantly added/removed by the users, so the subscription is very dynamic.

I know I could write a custom component to accomplish this, but first I wanted to check here to see if there are potentially a component existing that does this.

Has anyone written or heard talk of such a component? Or know of a way to achieve this functionality without custom code?

You mentioned using the name of the collection in your response, but I think you meant "path", correct?

Yes, that's correct. The table stores the name, but you'll need all the way to use the ' *' wildcard.

If you opt for a customization, especially if you want users to subscribe to a folder, I'm afraid the standard functionality can be obstacle - see http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e10797/c04_working_with_files.htm#CSUSG898:

-Subscription point content: users manually subscribe to individual content items.

-Subscription criteria: the system administrator (in an administrative applet) sets up a subscription based on one or more metadata fields. When a user subscribes to the subscription criteria, they are automatically subscribed to all content items that match a particular value of these metadata fields.

In this case, I probably would implement everything from scratch. I can send you a component that sets the quota of the file - it will still require much work to adapt to your needs and make it ready for production, but you can use it as a starting point. In addition, if your db is Oracle is using its hierarchical queries perfectly.

    5 check display libraries

  • Folder XP 'customize' properties tab with "applies to subfolders" checked applied property passes to all folders and all subfolders on the computer.

While creating a new music folder in XP and using the tab of "Customizing" folder properties, properties that had to be "applied to all subfolders" apply properties to all folders and subfolders on the computer and attached externally. How can I retrieve short to restore the entire disk (my drive is saved with the Windows backup feature)?

You can finely tune and crafts which properties are applied to files by using the option you mentioned, as well as "templates folder" as well.  But using both in tandem is not very intuitive.

Although it was created using Windows 8 for example, the video below also works for Windows 2000, XP, Vista and 7.  This should help you to set up your personalized finely folder and spread it to all folders of the same type.

  • Peform OCR on all PDF files in a certain folder and its subfolders

I wanted to do an OCR PDF files in a certain folder and its subfolders, without moving the files in their subfolders.  Naturally I went to: documents - ocr multiple files - add files - add directories.  Then came the problem.  Updated Adobe established a list of almost all the files in this folder and subfolders, even including Word files.  I wanted to only PDF files, I went down this list and deleted all files which was not a PDF file.  Then I turned it off, and it worked.

How can I tell Acrobat I want only to run OCR PDF files in a folder and subfolder?  How can I tell that it does run OCR on Word files, who already have the recognizable text?

It is Acrobat X (not pro) on 64-bit Windows 7, FYI.

If you have Acrobat X, you lucky that you can run an Action on this file and OCR PDF files just in it. If you upgrade to XI, you will not be able to do and it will convert all the files not PDF to a PDF as part of this Action. You basically need to do is set up the Action, add the step of recognition of text and make sure that under file/folder of input options you uncheck all other types of files, so that only PDF files is treated.

  • Set comumns to a folder and its subfolders

I use Windows 7.  I have download a load of podcasts each day using the downloader "Juice."  It places each radio show podcasts in a folder with a descriptive name.  All the these are placed in 'My Podcasts', then I'm...

    My Podasts

    -Programme_A

    -PodcastsProgA_date_1

    -PodcastsProgA_date_2

    -Programme_B

    -PodcastsProgB_date

    -Programme_C

    -PodcastsProgC_date

    etc.

So I can see what's new the other day, I extracted the files Sub-folders (the Program_X records), then b: Delete subfolders a: send them to my MP3 player.  The next day, I'll have a new brood of subfolders, dependiong on what programs have issued new podcasts to date here.

Here's the problem: Windows seems to detect that these are audio files and make the columns in newly created subfolders

    as follows: name / # / title / contributing artists / Album

What I want is: name / title / modified Date / Size

I have reset the columns of my Podcasts and they are not modified by a download, but I can't find any method to the default columns for any subfolder of my Podcasts.

How do we?  I can not even find a way to change the columns in all subfolders each day - the only way that I can find is to change each one individually.

Among the predefined formats column that you pointed out above, is that I suppose the operating system to aid is 'music '.  He must get this information from a file somewhere.  can you tell me where it is?  Maybe I can change it.

It is almost certainly set in the registry. If it is then a Google search could tell you where exactly it is and how to edit.

  • I used "Show Hidden Files" in a folder and all my files disspeared

I used "Show Hidden Files" in a folder on an external hard drive and all my files disappeared after I changed the settings and press ENTER.

I also made the change not in a folder, but the subfolders. I have many files duplicate on my external hard drive and I noticed that each file said that she had more files that were contained in each file, so I wanted to see what were these hidden files. After you have clicked on enter, each music file and folder just disappeared.

I searched my pc but can't find these files. I got more than $ 100 of music who has simply disappeared.

What can I do b/call, the music were in a separate folder, and there were more than 50 files with hundreds of songs. I mean how to do a cover for it?

Return to the folder options and use the "Restore default settings" button to change all the options back how they were, and see if it helps.

You can also try to use the drive in another computer, if you think that the configuration of your computer could be the problem.

  • Please help - I deleted a folder and its subfolders by accident

Please help I have some palpatations. In a State of fatigue, I noticed there was a folder "downloads" in the Lightroom browser with a single photo I have is no longer necessary. I selected the picture and deleted. I then do a right click the folder and press 'delete '. Unfortunately, I did not know that (and I guess what is happened) as "My pictures" in the drive (C :) was emphasized and it deleted all of the subfolders of the catalog (basically all of my work). The photos are all in "All photos", but in a huge lot of 27 thousand files. There is no way I can see to bring the individual file and the date they were when imported and catalogued.

My biggest concern is obviously the history of changes that I want to keep.

I tried not to do anything yet as I want some advice first.

The catalog has not been saved for a few weeks during which I edited a lot.

    I use Lightroom 4.1, windows 7 64 bit.

Right, I found what happened. Instead of 'Delete' that I thought I had selected in the right click menu I hit "Hide this Parent" below by chance. By masking the parent he 'hid' the parent folder and subsequently all of the subfolders of the parent. So why I had no abduction alert and could not see the subfolder - still could see the images.

    Phew.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Outlook Express 6 - connected today and all subfolders are missing and my mail.

All records & Mail gone - I still have my box in.   I found all my .bak files in the trash, and until I read the email below I simply chose "restore all" to the trash.   PROBLEM is that now I can not find them.   I checked my Message Store folder

C:\Documents and Settings\mark keener\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\ {DFF16927-88E6-4EAA-A097-460B7E65289B} \Microsoft\Outlook Express - GOOD NEWS, I think that they are all there, but I don't see when in Outlook - Please HELP!   Thank you very much!

I don't know what "read the email below" average, but that's what you need to do assuming that is the correct identity of OE. If you have more than one post back before continuing. Follow the instructions to the letter, please.

All e-mail messages may be missing when you start Outlook Express 6 Service Pack 1
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/918069

In Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file and drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.

Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.

First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.

If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.

If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.

  • You can prevent bridge to export the cache in a folder and all its subfolders?

I have set bridge to export files to cache files when it is possible and it is quite useful to find most of the time. It's a bit of a pain but when I review my dropbox folders.

I was wondering if there was a setting somewhere for "Please do not export hidden here?

You can't selectively exclude one or even several files.  It's all or nothing.

If you add your Dropbox to your bridge Favorites, it will be no different than any other folder navigation in Bridge.

  • How to restore a folder and subfolders using Time Machine (TM)?

I need to restore a folder and all its files and subfolders, with the latest at a specific date.

I'm running Yosemite (10.10.5) and plan to upgrade to El Capitan, shortly.

To the restored file, includes everything I have he would have seen that day.  Some folders/subfolders may not have changed for a long time (years).  Others may have changed recently.

An example of this is the Evernote database folder.  In order to recover some of the notes that have been deleted or modified, I need to restore my folder of Evernote completely because it was on a certain date.  It must include all files/folders that I've had to this date.

    How can I do this?

I did a lot of research, a lot of research, read many documents (including Apple) on the use of TM, and I can't find any information that explains how to do this.

If TM can do, there's another backup system which can, would you recommend for this?
