Successful passage of 32-bit to 64-bit

For those who may wonder if it is possible...

I bought a Satellite L550 a couple of weeks who had Win7 Pro 32-bit preinstalled. With 4 GB of RAM, the machine was capable of running 64-bit, so I called Toshiba Support (Australia) with the intention to ask them nicely if they could send me a 64-bit installation disk. Well, no need. The tech guy told me that the hidden recovery partition contains the 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Awesome!

Then... I made the big jump, backed up all my data to the first drive external DRIVE (using Windows 7 backup), then launched a recovery of the system to a State of out-of-the-box by holding down the 0 key when switching on the laptop power button. The first window that pops up gave me a choice between 32-bit or 64-bit. Cool :-)

So I chose 64-bit and from there the rest of the restore procedure worked perfectly. Once Win7 was installed, drivers Toshiba and the software factory installed automatically (implying several automatic re-boots). Basically, once the recovery process had started, I didn't have to do anything at all - I could sit back and watch the computer do its thing. The whole process takes maybe an hour or two. All my hardware devices are working and Win7 Pro 64-bit works beautifully. Restore my files backed up and software and soft!

Thus, it can be done. Just make sure that you have backed up all your stuff first and make sure that all your devices will run on 64-bit.

It's a happy customer here... :-)

Hello

Thanks for your 'good news', I face the same problem.
I want to buy a Tecra A10, but it also comes with a 32-Bit - system.
Why are they doing this, looks like a fFerrari with an older 3-cylinders-2-race-engine.
#
How can I know whether that move from 32 to 64-bit is also possible with a Treca A10 1GV?

I don't see no service-nr.
Can you help me?

How to find the hidden restore file?

There is no W7 32 bit graphics drivers switchable configuration from anywhere.

Your only choice if you want to properly run W7, is to install W7 x 64, and then you can use the drivers and software of the m6t-1000 except the BIOS and firmware files.

  • 64-bit Windows 7 driver for Atheros AR5007 in dv7-1468nr

I have been in communication with Microsoft and HP technical support both on this issue.

Can we please have a time frame on how long before that we will have a driver for the wireless card that is in this model the actual 64-bit?

I don't want to sound rude here, but Acer has been much easier to get around the problem of driver for windows 7.

Microsoft did confirm this evening that there is no 64-bit for this AR5007 driver and back to HP.

Atheros seems to deal specifically with suppliers more with the support of its prodiucts, as it is my return to HP after six years of absence and the fact that my company is jumping through the hoops for the HP partnership, I would like an honest answer from an employee of HP.

How long before that this driver is available in 64 bits?

Until that time, all of the product is worthless for me as a professional and as a student for the simple reason that when you try to use a suppliant of security required for authentication, the network manager crash when using the measure of 802. 1 x. Microsoft has identified that specifically a driver related issue because there is no driver 64-bit available.

Not to play against each other here, but in my profession and in my studies, I tend to promote these products that seem to work better and where assistance is available. The Acer also contained an Atheros card, but it was changed to use a broadcom driver in Windows 7. No idea why or how, I know that it works and it supports the Cisco PEAP supplicant, which is an important issue with the dv7-1468nr and Windows 7 with the Atheros AR5007 wireless device.

Other related driver issues such as the multimedia remote that might be expected given that windows 7 has not officially released, but when I contacted support on the card reader does not not (another feature that works out of the box on an Acer hardware), I was told basically sorry charlie, good luck. Fortunately, I was able to locate an XP driver for the card reader works. The media remote is a trivial question, but the wireless is a serious problem. If it cannot be resolved within a reasonable time, I fear I will be boxing it up to return to where it was purchased, as defective. the deployment is in a few days...

lets hope that we can really appropriate at this time that drivers.

After three long sessions with Microsoft and a few sessions where I was not very tolerable with the "apology" given for drivers not made available via the website of HP, I was able to refine the exact question to something other than a real driver file.

If the question was not in fact the driver file, it does not change the fact that HP should provide drivers on their website that they will BE supported for all operating systems promoted regardless of the version (Home Basic, premium, professional, ultimate, etc..). It became a problem in my final conversation of a HP technician before they gave me a link to a driver file real 64 bit, of course claim immunity from liability for any damage as a result of the application. The link of this driver is here.

Now for the real root of the problem.

On the new installation, there are several devices that have remained unknown in Device Manager.

Day after day, a lesbianism HP drivers and applications to solve problems.

What was actually the connection magaer crash on trying to manually create a connection by using the Cisco's PEAP Protocol was a corrupt application of Cisco installation. Through the process of trying to repair the installation and actually manually change the registry and remove all traces of the application with Microsoft in the remote session, it was determined that the system had become corrupt and need a fresh 'custom' install.

After installation, using all the HP and Microsoft drivers only, (no application of third party still installed) I have successfully install the 64-bit application Cisco PEAP for 64-bit Vista and create the connection which is required.

To date, there is only one problem with this laptop and I expect a fix from HP for it in the coming days.

The HP MediaSmart application for this machine special 64-bit is always just a touch unstable running Windows 7 Professional.

I hope that it can save someone else the days of frustration I endured everything in trying to solve this problem.

  • Hi, I have a problem in the installation, how to install acrobat 8.1 pro in 64-bit Windows 7 Enterprise is existing in Windows XP.  I just want to transfer the license Adobe pro 8 Windows 7 64 bit. What is the procedure?

Hi, I have a problem in the installation, how to install acrobat 8.1 pro in 64-bit Windows 7 Enterprise is existing in Windows XP.  I just want to transfer the license Adobe pro 8 Windows 7 64 bit. What is the procedure?

You need to install 8 AA on the new OS with your current S/N (the license allows 2 installs). After the installation, do all the updates if you expect any chance of 8 AA to run on the system. If the updates will be installed not in the menu help, then go to ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/ and install updates in the order. People seem to have been successful with 32 - bit systems and some have reported success with a 64 bit system. After installation, print something to the Adobe PDF printer to make sure it works. If this works, you should be in good shape as printing treat the bottleneck. There is a solution, but you shouldn't have it.

If all works well, then go back to the old machine and disable this installing and uninstalling. Don't forget that your configuration is not supported by Adobe. It seems with every new version of Windows, MS seeks to make the user to upgrade the other hardware and software for compatibility. There may be legitimate reasons for this action, but the game just seems to be Ms.

  • Passage of one datacenter in another database

Please help me on this scenario below.

Customer wants to install system to remote location, IE data centre migration to different location, but with minimal downtime, because 'A' is alive and productive and downtime during the failover time (4 hours)

Please note that our version of the database is 9.2.0.6 on solaris 10.

    Our plan is

    1. we will get shared server for production, its mirror copy of production and it is a true copy
    2. transfer the location of remote backup using rcp
3 3 restaurer restore on target, let say system B and start the system B (B system having the same operating system, filesystem...)
    (4) test on system B for 2 days
    4. apply archive logs to the system ''(to sync) B that have been generated in the last 2 days on the system 'A' and stop the system 'A' and go live with system 'B '.

Please suggest me this solution is going to work?, if his work what is best method to go with point number 4.

Please, share your ideas with me and help me.

    Kind regards
    Angelo

Why would you spend two days after restoring a backup of database running read-only queries? This makes no sense - or recovery operation success or fail - it's not like a recovery of database could especially successful, but losing a bit of data.

Presumably, you will apply the papers archived in the same way you applied the archive logs while recovering the database backup and archived newspapers, that you copied from A to B. It is not clear to me how you manage backups and recovery, whether you are looking for the RMAN script, manual controls or something else is not clear.

  • HP does not recognize his own product - VG885AA

I recently bought a new video card HP for a 64 bit system, 32-bit Windows 2003 Small Business Server running.  The device is listed as PCIe x 16 HS of HP NVidia GF 310 DP card (512).  The number of the product in the box bed VG885AA and on the card itself, I found variously 'pegatron', 'P690' & 'd10m1b83h '.

The CD that accompanies it (CD Kit 432519-B29) pointed out that it is not compatible with WNT_5.2 and none of the sets of three drivers will install successfully (Win7/Vista 32-bit, 32-bit XP and Win7/Vista 64 - bit).

When I try to find a driver to download on the website of HP I find that the device seems not to exist.  I have try all options, automatic detection, looking for something that fits what whatever product I've ever been, and nothing is recognized by HP (who I bought the product HP badge of course).  I can't even contact HP without display, that I have a valid product, which clearly I am unable to do so because the fact that their website doesn't seem to recognize it somehow.

Someone has suggestions better than cursing HP in the world and write everything off as a bad debt?  Is this behavior typical?

Clearly, I am very frustrated and have literally spent several hours running around trying to get an idea of their Web site, but any angle I approach it is very resistant to the respondent to my problem somehow either.

If anyone can help I would be very grateful.  If there is more information that is necessary but not supplied then please accept my apologies for not realizing before posting, but let me know and I'll give what I can.

Thank you for your interest and my apologies for the delay in responding - I had to dig up my credentials before I could answer.

I have checked the NVidia website, but I couldn't find anything that matched what I needed.  I've mainly due to the inability to match any of the available options.

I don't remember all the details of the solution I've used ultimately, but I remember having to update the properties of the EXE file until it has been run to set the compatibility mode for something (I can't remember which).

I think not all worked entirely in the end, but he ran enough to allow the system to operate at a basic level at least (and this is actually quite a decent performance map wise after all - as most of our days).

  • Lenovo companion questions Win10

    Hello

I hope someone can help me.

I've got a S30 of work I upgraded successfully to Win7 64-bit Win10 64 bit. Everything works fine, EXCEPT the companion of Lenovo. Yet, I also have a Yoga S1 which raised Win8 to 10, and it works perfectly fine.

    I installed the following:

    LenovoID 1.2.1.0

    Lenovo 3.0.29.0 settings

    Lenovo 3.0.20.0 companion

Foundation of system Lenovo 1.0.044.00 Interface

    Question n ° 1

My main problem is that the system update screen always responds with "there is a problem during the extraction of new updates. "Please try again later".

I tried companion running from a clean boot, always with the same question.

I also disabled all firewall and antivirus to test.

    2nd edition

I also noticed that the link of the user in the Program Guide appears to try to load something, but all that is recovered is:

    Question n ° 3

The homescreen of companion seems not ba able to access information on my PC. It says 'OPTIMIZE YOUR FOR' instead of 'OPTIMIZE YOUR THINKSTATION' and ' to be filled by O.E.M' where Yoga have appropriate information and the OS.

This information all appears correctly for my Yoga:

All Lenovo's Apps have been uninstalled and reinstalled.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you very much

This has been fixed by an update to the companion of Lenovo

  • BFSK Tx and Rx synchronization in USRPN210 problem

    Hello

I try to do an implementation TX and RX of BFSK in USRPN210 using Labview. When I sent desired bits of information with some power indicator, I success to sequences of bits in the receiver. However, I have 2 problems.

One of them is that, when I searched sequences of bits received, two bits are lost. One of the two bits is the beginning of the sequnces, the other end is end sequences of bits. For example, when I conveyed to 64-bit, I got 62 bits.

The other problem is that about 20-30 bits are resolved incorrectly until USRP is ready. After that these bits of bad reception, the receiver starts to actually solve the pieces.

For example, I would like to pass these sequences,

    1111100000111110000011111(Start bit) 0011110011000001(info bit) 1111100000111110000011111(stop bit)

When I convey these continuous sequences, I got the bits like,

01010101110 (this sequence is set wrong about 20-30 bits)... 1111000001111100000111110011110011000001111110000011111000001111 (in this sequence of beginning and end of the bits are lost)...

How can I solve this problem?

  • Infinite loops AUTOCHK and CHKDSK

Question: How do I fix the curls AUTOCHK and CHKDSK when everything has failed?

Summary: a new HARD drive, with a cloned image of WinXP infected with the malware that has been cleaned thoroughly, continues to show c: System file Dirty bit is set.  A 5-step forced CHKDSK /f or CHKDSK /r does not resolve the problem.  System seems to be 100% clean and works great except for the 'stuck' Dirty bit on C:.  Dirty bit can be effectively ignored by using CHKNTFS /x c: but Scandisk and Defrag cannot be run - probably other problems also.  Yet to try to solve this problem without wiping and starting over.

HP Pavilion zd8000 w / WinXP Media Center 2005.  Wouldn't boot - ran an endless cycle of 3 floors AUTOCHKs and reboots.  If AUTOCHK was cancelled, WinXP would charge sometimes, but very slowly... HARD drive certainly wasn't.  Originally mounted 4200 RPM HARD drive on another box, and then managed to copy data from it.  The host received warnings which disc can have errors. Ghost to clone a new 5400 RPM HARD drive.

Installed new HARD drive in the laptop computer and used MBAM, HitMan, RKill and ComboFix to fix many and varied, the viruses and Trojans (but not sure exactly what horses Trojan or virus, sorry).  Possible one of these viruses caused BSOD 0X0000007b error when you try to start in Safe Mode; This has been resolved during the elimination of viruses and removing Windows updates specific here:

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_xp-windows_update/blue-screen-error-0x0000007B-in-Windows-XP-after/73cea559-ebbd-4274-96bc-e292b69f2fd1

    and here:

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_xp-system/Windows-XP-SP3-boot-to-safe-mode-Stop-0x0000007B/8347d3ea-8351-4709-9580-b692feeacb77

Once the infections were party, and after having passed the safe boot, WinXP has continued to report corrupt files ("exception processing message c00001012") as well as the event ID 55 ('file system on the disk structure is damaged and unusable. Please run the CHKDSK utility on the volume C:\ ") and the same loop AUTOCHK 3 floors at each start.

Performed repair installation using the original media.  Was now SP2 WinXP SP3, after repair.  Delay further updates pending the resolution of this problem.

The laptop runs great now - except that the dirty bit seems to be permanently set to C: - Defrag will not work because it says a CHKDSK /f is planned.  No more "exception processing message" error (either suspect that some windows files were actually corrupt, possibly by the Virus, probably by previous disk HDD error, but were repaired and then repairing install it).

FSUTIL always reports that C: is dirty.

I set myself the CHKNTFS /x C: and prevents the AUTOCHK running on every boot - now it starts and works apparently without problems, except that the dirty bit is always fixed.  I didn't understand if CHKNTFS /x C: should be prohibiting the AUTOCHK run on each startup, but it is that its weight without worrying... in other words, I don't have to reset CHKNTFS /x C: before each start, it seems to be "permanently" together.  I don't think that it is the function of the switch...

I ran CHKDSK /f C: both CHKDSK /r C: under this condition (with CHKNTFS /x together) and the two CHKDSK 5 or 3 floors seemed to run successfully every time and respectively - however they also result in an infinite loop of CHKDSKs at startup.  These are not the same that the 'normal' AUTOCHK loop system is stuck with FSUTIL /d together.  I interpret this as meaning that both the ordinary AUTOCHK and the CHKDSK manually invoked are unable to successfully disabled the Dirty bit despite not finding any errors.

After the /d C: FSUTIL reset system always presents the same loop AUTOCHK 3 floors on each boot.  Event ID 55 continues to be connected when it is started under CHKNTFS d, is not connected when it is started under CHKNTFS/x.

    Hello ReallyWildStuff,

If chkdsk not clear the dirty bit, that would be my recommendation to format and do a non graphic installation.

At this point, it would be the only way to definitively say that there is no hardware problem on the disk or controller.

As you have a picture of the previous installation, I assume that all the data is secure.

Let us know what the results are.

    Best regards

Then... After all those months of research and everything... everything that...

My friend and I were dooped last night it STILL didn't work. I watched the HDMI, he given and which was already plugged in and noticed something that I'm stupid to not have noticed before. • Restore point creation crashes and now backup when you create a shadow copy Volume Windows 7 x 64. Help, please!

    Hi all

Backup and system restore worked fine 2 weeks ago, or maybe even more recently when I had to restore an earlier backup. I first noticed a problem yesterday, however, when you try to install an update from Windows to see that he is hung up on the creation of a Restore Point. I also tried to manually create a restoration via the System applet in the control panel of configuration, but that just hung 'Creation of a Restore Point. Finally, I tried to make a backup of what I finally did the 5/14, but which becomes 7% when creating a cliché to hang there.

    Things I've tried so far:

    1. Ensure VSS and the Windows backup is set to automatic and started in the Services.
    2. Turning Off SR on all drives and turn it back on.
    3. By clicking on the Remove button to all the former restore points for all readers
    4. Running SFC/scannow, who comes back as 'No violation of integrity.'
    5. A ran Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware with nothing found
    6. Have Norton 360 5.0 and I tried disabling in vain. Also no viruses are detected.
    7. Trying to do something in Mode without failure only to discover I can't create restore points there.
    8. Try to resize the shadowstorage and remove the old shadows via the CMD prompt high.
    9. Regsvr32 a bunch of dll found listed on similar sites - much successful in vain a bit - so maybe it's something...
    10. vssadmin list shadowstorage but nothing happens.
    11. No doubt other things but I can't think of them right now...

So it seems that I can do a repair installation of Windows 7 x 64 or attempt a restore one of my backups for a few weeks there, but the latter seems like it will fail either or I'll run into the same problem again later, the. I have Windows 7 on a 30 GB SSD, and the Windows directory itself takes 15.5 GB, because the installation program requires 17.5 GB for x 64, I wouldn't be able to do even if I removed everything else on the disc but the dir of Win.

So I figure I can find is a solution to the real problem, do a clean install, or copy my 30 GB partition on another drive, resize, do the repair install and backup. None of this sounds particularly easy options, so can someone please help me find something that might work?

    Thank you very much!
    Andrew

    Hi, Andrew l.,

I suggest you perform the clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

  • Win7 mirrored volume resync take days to complete

I just built a new system of Windows 7 SP1 and I wanted to create a mirrored volume to store a large amount of data.  The system has three disks:

    * A system of 1 TB drive

    * 3 two red TB Western Digital WD30EFRX drives

I have set up two disks of 3 TB as a successfully mirrored volume and at first everything seemed fine.  I came just to check the disk manager a few days later, however, and I noticed that the volume status is "Failed redundancy" and one of the disks has a yellow exclamation beside him with a status of "error".  After a bit of web, research, he sounded like one of the disks had abandoned the volume for a reason, so I followed the instructions of TechNet to reactivate the disk (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc786839%28v=ws.10%29.aspx).  The volume immediately began resynchronization.

Although he seems to be synchronize successfully, I'm a bit concerned about how long it takes.  I expected to take several hours; maybe even a day since it's 3 TB RAID software.  When he started first sync there was no progress indicator, so I just let it go.  It's "rescyning" for over 2.5 days and a progress indicator just published - it is now 6% (screen shot included).  A few quick calculations indicate that, at this rate, all resync will take about a month.

I just can't believe that it is correct; I guess that something is wrong.  I got 10 TB software RAID arrays that have resynced in less than a day.  I don't have much experience with Win7 volumes in reverse, so I hope someone has an idea.  It is a new system with modern components; It's a multi-core with 8 GB of memory processor, these are disks SATA 6 Gbps, and system disk is separated from the mirrored volume.  Both drives pass SMART tests, and chkdsk reveals no error.  Hardware RAID is not an option.  Any ideas?

Thanks for the detailed answer!  I think that the question was probably due to a restart related to Windows Update as you suggest; I think that the system restarted automatically because of an update shortly before that I noticed the resynchronization.  Assuming that this is the case, it's a mystery why Microsoft has not fixed yet.

I finally gave up on crossed my fingers and just rebooted the system.  When he returned to the top it seemed to have already begun the process of resynchronization on its own.  I was disappointed at first that she had begun at the course early. However, I then noticed it was resynchronize much more quickly.  Performance monitor showed same much faster read and write speed, and in a few hours, full status indicator percentage was already well into double digits.  The resynchronization is complete after about 6 to 8 hours, which is all that I expected.  Since then, the volume status is 'healthy' and I restarted several times without additional problems.  I have no idea why restart magically solved the problem.

I guess that means I'll need to look at whenever the system reboots after you have applied an update and just hope that if this happens again, a quick restart will fix it.
