  I have a Mac laptop and I would like your advice on how to organize the storage of files on internal and external drives and how optimizes it the backup plan.

  I keep my most important files on the internal disk of SSD encrypted and less critical files on an encrypted external drive (format ExFAT).   First of all, to the ExFAT is the problem, I suggest that the reader will just physically hurt.  ExFAT is perfectly acceptable as a format where Mac and PC can read/write.  You may have reacted a little leaving ExFAT for HFS, but you have made your choice and adapts to it.

  Here is how I operate my backups:

  I use CCC (CarbonCopyClone, $40, bombich.com).  It copies the boot sectors, drive, mapping, recovery Partition (these three are 'invisible' to DiskUtility for most) as well as system partitions and data records 'other'.  These other disks may be internal for clone-to-test-new-OSX in multi-disc systems or external for backup purposes.  The beauty is that you can start an external clone in a system crash, then CCC will be re - copy the active external clone on a new/fixed internal drive.

  Encryption isn't something I know, but... If only the content of the system partition and data is encrypted, it * could * be OK for clone-back to partition-as-encrypted partitions.  If you clone internal external the external partition is active and copy the 'encrypted plan', while small adjustments are made so that the race could be bad.  Copy of the files on my partitions unencrypted change interrupt because they are individual files.

  As an alternative, you could have a system drive that does CCC charge, let the clone encrypted and encrypted internal idle and just copy the entire map with the 'third system' active.

  I have an iMac of 2013 end 5 k. I do a lot of photography, treatment with Photoshop and Lightroom.

  When I bought the iMac, I also got a LaCie Little Big Disk. It's a quick series of PCIe SSD 1 TB super set pre-configured in RAID 0 mode, and it is completely silent. Certainly, it is a total overkill for photography work, but I was really happy with him... until he has filled.

  I use a separate 4 TB of HARD drive in an external enclosure from OWC for disk backup internal of my iMac as LaCie hard drive with my photos.

And then a 1 TB of HARD drive to back up my iMac (512 GB SSD) drive. Problem is I'm afraid that's not too noisy. Even if I had a quieter fan, I'm worried about the noise made by the readers of spinning.

  Second option is a Thunderbay 4 with 2.5 1 TB SSD in a RAID5 configuration. It would give me 3 TB of storage with protection against failure. With a Noctura fan, it would be nearly silent. But this isn't a true backup and I still need a separate backup drive, which is not the most elegant solution.

  FWIW, I have backup off site with Backblaze. But although that offers protection data, if the entire Thunderbay somehow got fried, it would be nice to have a backup closer at hand than Backblaze. I believe that they will send a disc with recorded data, but not sure about that.

  Any ideas would be appreciated!

  If noise from Thunderbay concerns then just get you a longer cable of love at first sight. I saw them in 10 meter lengths, then you can have the flexibility to put the box in another room or at least a distance of your office.

• What is the need for local storage for a 6s of backup?

  Recently upgraded from 4S 6 s. content (4 s backup) seems works very well on the new 6 s, well the first photos of the day and vids (taken with 4) opens at all on the 6s this question seems however put himself to the point and he pictures and vids now works as it should.

  What amount of space 6 is used, and how much you have available for backup. If the first is greater than the second, it does not work.

• How can I configure my Time Capsule wireless for backups

  I recently changed the ADSL broadband cable. So it took to move my modem to the other side of the room where my cable connection. When I got the computer, modem, ADSL modem and the TC were a few feet from each other. However - now I have a wireless connection between my mac and the gateway Max Telstra modem and works very well. However, the TC has a yellow light hard now and does not connect to the internet. I can't the airport to recognize it as a base station and I think to be able to return to the company the automatic backups, I need to somehow get the TC identified as a base station.   There are two ways to deal with the problem.

  However, the TC has a yellow light hard now and does not connect to the internet.

  VDR can save up to 100 mV

  VDR can have a maximum of 2 de-deplication stores connected to it

  Each store deduplication can be of a maximum size of 1 TB

  On this basis, it is a fair assumption that I can have a space for backup storage maximum of 2 TB per vCenter using VDR?

  I ask because I need to implement a backup solution for nearly 100 VM and they employ about 2 TB of space.

  I have a 8TB available to store backups on NAS.

  However IF I can have only up to 2 TB of storage space and virtual machines could increase in the future to more than 2 TB in size, do I need to look at another form of backup (like VCB) has a growth future mind?

  the other elements are correct, however you can expect a certain de-dup so the amount that can be stored in each destination depends on how much initial de-dup on the first pass of backup and well it turns later.

  I used it since beta and my device current back 6 VMS, (DC, monitor e-mail, exchange server 5 GB and a few others).  the destination disk is 150 GB and has stabilized at about 20 GB free after 6-8 months of continuous use.  The Unit indicates that no duplicate backup would be approximately 4.5PB (petabytes).

  Flash does not work on some web sites. I never had a problem before with flash on FF in the nearly 15 years that I've used FF. Recently it has stopped working for some reason any and on some flash sites does not, NHL.com and site of kid Herotopia being just two of them.   The other strange thing is that I used to get the "warning: script does not" prompt that displays "a script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding." You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script ends. "sometimes when I would buy on Macy's.com. This is the only site that it happened.
  I know I have only little technical knowledge, but I have tried to figure this out for a few days and do not know what is happening. The only thing I can think is that I somewhere files corrupted causing this problem. I have just updated to Windows 8.1 tonight in the hope that can help, but nothing helped. I would be very disappointing if I couldn't use FF or must go back using Chrome and FF.

• I can't trust iCloud for backup?

  My wife and I have several Macs and iPad backup iCloud. Today we have connected and the documents of our Pages are gone — not a few documents, but precious and many lost work. Lost? I've seen other posts related to Pages and sheets of deleted documents and unrecoverable IOS after the most recent upgrade. I visited iCloud.com and searched recoverable documents in the 'Advanced' section to see if the papers were there - they were not. I checked to see if iCloud in 'Settings' with all our devices - it is. Apple said at the time that we shouldn't count on iCloud for backup, because they cannot ensure our documents stored cloud will survive our specific to the device updates? Seriously? So I should relegate all iCloud to toy status devices because they are not reliable for work? Why our unit upgrades would replace somehow data that was stored "safely" remotely? Wasn't that the point of iCloud 'trust' in the first place. Can anyone talk me down off that ledge I'm about to throw my (many) features of work Apple out of? Thank you.

• External hardrive dedicated for backups or huge 3 teg hardrive

  I have two Macs. The two are not up-to-date on the operating system. One is a former PPC-Intel Power Mac G5 (running 10.4.8). This PPC has logic music software from apple and other software, that I like to keep the versions they all. I want to back up the entire hard drive please. Never done and need to know how?

  The iMac I see a time machine... .the iMac running 10.6.8 and it seems pretty simple how to backup.

  My question contains the questions above for backup but also do I need a hard disk dedicated for each backup of the computer, or can I partition a huge hard drive.

  Also, so just save a computer for example do I need a dedicated external hardrive or can I use a space between an external hardrive with enough space for a backup.

  I know that this issue contains various aspects of a question and different computers and versions so I appreciate the answers really. Thank you very much!

  Every Mac should have at least 1 backup HD dedicated. When it comes to backup, it is wise to also have redundant backups because too backups fail! I have 3 Mac (iMac, Mac Mini & MacBook Air), each has 2 HD attached for redundant backups. Although I know that it is more expensive that you wanted to hear, it gives a pretty good backup level. It would be extremely rare to lose the primary storage and two backups, but I lost the primary and a backup at least 2 times!

  In my case, I use Time Machine and SuperDuper as my backup solutions and also to use OWC (www.macsales.com) as my EHD.
