SuperFetch crashing problems

Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite A305. Recently I experienced a few problems with Superfetch. Since yesterday, it would begin randomly just stop saying "Superfetch has stopped working" and then "Host process for Windows has failed."
When he goes, my display settings change for the mobile setting and it shuts the ConfigFree internet program. I can turn it back, however. After awhile, it seems back on fine, but then the time is random; from 1 to 5 minutes.
So I was wondering if there is no task other downloads that could help me with this problem or if there is a way to fix it.

Hi Buzz86,

You may have something interfere with SuperFetch.

What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on the machine? Be one you have NEVER
on this machine, including those you have uninstalled (they leave leftovers behind which can cause
strange problems).

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

How to install a device driver in Vista Device Manager
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-Device-Manager-install-driver.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.

  • Need help with a strange crash problem

    Hi guys,.

I use Firefox on Windows 7 32 bit 14.0.1. The problem is that every few minutes my browser crashes. The memory usage appears on the rise and until you reach a point where it causes Firefox to crash.

In safe mode, the problem occurs. So, naturally I tried disabling all my Add-ons to reactivate them one by one and try to find the offending module. This is where it gets strange.

After I disabled all my modules and even all the plugins, the problem was still persistent. If Firefox works in mode safe, but out of safe mode with all my Add - ons disabled the problem persists.

If at this point I don't really know what to do. I guess that safe mode is something I haven't thought to do, but I don't know what. The problem any help will be much appreciated.

    See you soon.

OK, yes the problem is caused by hardware acceleration. My browser works well now that it is disabled. Apparently, this has something to do with the latest AMD video drivers:

    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/questions/927206

I've recently updated to the latest drivers and now I get this problem. I figured it was something to do with it. Apparently, these problems have occurred since 12 FF. This should really be sorted.

I'll just use FF without hardware acceleration for the moment, but I hope that we see a fix for this in the next version. Or if it's actually a problem with the AMD drivers, if all goes well they will get into it. Anyway, it needs a fix.

  • Satellite P300 - 156 Windows 7 Crash problem

    Hello
I have the Toshiba Satellite P300 - 156 PSPC4E, model and I've had this laptop for a couple of years now.
Before installing windows 7, I got the default Windows Vista installed and it worked fine.
Now since installing windows 7, no matter WHAT game I try and play just causes the cell to go black screen and turn off after about 5-10 minutes of play.
I thought that this was due to an overheating problem... so I opened the laptop and cleaned all that and then put it back together again.
(YES I checked all the wires are back where they should be and all the components are working properly)
    It did not work.
Then I tried updating all my drivers and software ect.
    Still nothing.
I searched on through pages and pages of search results for the same problems with Windows 7 and the game crashing... but nobody seems to know how to fix it.
I thought it was just windows 7, but I re installed windows vista and it's always done the same thing on there now.
I tried to install all the drivers of the model for this laptop toshibas site and not luck.
My windows vista and windows 7 are two authentic copies.

All the hardware is functioning normally (as far as im aware) and I really don't see what can cause this problem.

If someone could give me some advice on what to do it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

Which driver you use display? I m P300 owner but not on my A300, I had a similar problem that the laptop has crashed during a game. It seems that the reason was a 3rd party driver or let's say the driver of the manufacturing of the graphics chip directly. I think that because they are not prétestées on the cell and causing overheating

So I recommend you to install the latest driver of display on the Toshiba site.

Finally and above all what version of Windows 7 (32 or 64-bit), you have installed and what version of BIOS?
From Toshiba Web site also shows the new BIOS versions and several versions 32 bit and 64 bit OS. Maybe you have to day/edit, who knows?

  • Windows 7 crash and crash problems - power possibly associated

I ordered and installed Windows 7 about a month ago. After installation (which was completely smooth and painless), my laptop (a HP tx2500) ran Windows 7 perfectly for about 2-3 weeks.

After this initial period, my machine started to hang and freeze on me at random. Sometimes, the machine would freeze during startup or during the windows logo screen 7 or during the screen "Please wait - welcome". Other times, the machine starts well and stay on during anywhere between 5 minutes to an hour before it freezes or crashes. Either the screen freezes (mouse, keyboard, all the other input devices, do nothing) or the screen is completely blank (no backlight on at all). Sometimes my screen begins to blink or jump, then click on black, and then return, but when this happens I lose my internet connection Wireless (sometimes I lose only the ability to find my network home, sometimes my map says that there are no networks in the range when I know for a fact that there are many).

I tried everything I could think of to fix this - editing/restoring the default settings of the parameters of my diet, installation/reinstallation of drivers (I tired about all drivers I can think for my Wi - Fi cards and video, even vista drivers in compatibility mode)-I also tried restore points, startup, current antivirus programs repair of execution install windows updates, run diagnostics from the system (my BIOS and windows with the chkdsk and sfc/scannow inside). I even tried to reinstall windows 7 two times and each time the return of the problems. I ran memtest86 and another hard drive and diagnostic tools of ram and whenever these tests come back without errors, as do the windows diagnostics and run them from my BIOS.

I'm honestly at a loss now. I would contact HP, but my laptop is out of warranty (go figure, these problems began a few days after my warranty expires). I also noticed now that my laptop tends to run well on balanced battery settings power usage, but when I plug my power adapter I begin to get into trouble, but the machine freezes sometimes on startup, even if it only runs on the battery.

Any suggestion or help would be greatly appreciated. I also thought to reinstall vista, but HP has not provided me with restore disks vista beyond backup on my hard drive partition, which, for some reason, I can't access my menu to boot.

updated the bios? not only HP, all brands are updated the BIOS of motherboards´ to accept the Windows 7 operating system. For your laptop, I think the version is F.0F (August 2009). Select:

    http://h20180.www2.HP.com/apps/lookup?h_lang=en&h_cc=us&cc=us&h_page=hpcom&lang=en&h_client=S-A-R163-1&h_query=HP+tx2500&submit.x=0&submit.y=0

Although testers indicate memory and HDD that are in perfect working condition, it is important to check on the operational plan. Advanced memory test, one is second hard drive. The easiest way is to reinstall the system by replacing the hard drive, but I guess that you don't have an extra hard disk to check.

    Hi B Bartram,

    Let us try these methods.

    Method 1.

Run a full scan of the computer with the Microsoft Safety Scanner to make sure that the computer is virus-free.

    Microsoft security scanner: http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Warning of Security Scanner: there could be a loss of data while performing an analysis using the Microsoft safety scanner to eliminate viruses as appropriate.

    Method 2.

I suggest that you can exercise SFC scan and check if that helps. The SFC/SCANNOW command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

For more information how to make SFC / scan, please follow this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833

  • Windows 8 blue screen crash problem

Whenever I start my windows bitTorrent 8 crashes and displays a blue error screen showing DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (NETIO. (SYS) and gets automatically rebooted.

I had uninstalled McAfee and I also used the removal tool but still problem persists

    help needed!

    Thank you!

All attached files of the DMP are the bug check DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (d1) .

This indicates that a kernel-mode driver attempted to access pageable memory with a high IRQL.

A driver tried to access a pageable (or that is completely invalid) address while the IRQL was too high. This bug check is usually caused by drivers who used a wrong address.

By default, the fault of accidents is NETIO.sys which is network IO subsystem. This is not the real cause of the accident and usually when we associate network crashes like that, it is caused by one of two things:

1 network drivers themselves must be updated.

    2. 3rd party antivirus or firewall software cause of NETBIOS conflicts.

  • Anyone with crash problems today with the Muse?

Anyone with a problem of crash with Muse today? I worked all day, then it crashed on me three times whenever I was working on the text. Then when reopened claims made to date were made when I did not have any it also lost some content?

Accidents that you encounter are submenus of the menu police. We are painfully aware of this and is very actively working a solid solution and subsequent update.

There is no work around of 100% to avoid the crash, but you can reduce its frequency being very deliberate when selections in the font menu or a submenu fonts. If, at the time when you click, you keep the cursor of the mouse on the element even for a slow count of 1 before you click and never click on an item in the main menu of police that contains a submenu (a gesture that would be useless, but that would trigger the crash), which should avoid the crash in most cases.

We are sorry for the inconvenience.

  • Crash problem

    Hi all

I posted this in the forum of the creative suite, but seeing this post makes me think that it is a good place for my question as well:

I have a problem. I recently bought and installed the creative suite production premium cs4. I have a few problems/questions:

    1. while I was working on the program of first on an animation in stop motion with lots of photos jpeg, the program planted a lot. I managed to finish editing. On something less heavy, it may crash from time to time. I edited very short clips.

    2. I wanted to try the after effects program, but it crashed when I used the dynamic link. It opened and then crashed.

    3. I also tried to open Illustrator and after about 3 simple operations, it crashed.

Clearly, something is wrong. Maybe it's a memory problem. Some guidance, I thought to are:

    a. I have Windows XP SP2 on my drive c. 3 GB OF RAM. Intel Pentium D CPU 2 .80GHz my free space on my c drive is 3,19 GB. Is this enough? Would be the SP3 solve all problems?

    b. I installed programs to a different partition than the OS. Is this right? Should I install windows again and differently?

    c. my graphics card was Geforce to Quadro nvs 290 softmoded. Would that be a problem?

I also buy the new windows 7.

That would solve all my problems? And the installation must I install differently? With more space on drive c?

The creative suite works with the new windows 7?

Thanks a lot for reading up to this point. Thanks a lot for all the answers and it is much appreciated!

As John said: you definitely need more of a drive

If you do not have at least 50-60% of free space on your C: drive, you have to start over.

The overall experience with the old cards Quadro is bad, I tried a FX1700 and got negative results

Windows 7 64-bit is an improvement, but I doubt it would do much good with only 3 GB of RAM.  Premiere Pro CS4 works very well with Windows 7, I can't speak for the rest of the suite.

  • Satellite M40: Win XP install after crash problem - ser.number system

    Hello

I would ask you what I'll do. I bought new computer toshiba satellite m40 laptop about 5 years in London.
There was no Win XP Recovery cd (no partition recovery on the hard disc as well), just cd with drivers of toshiba in the box. Now my system crashed.

Took me a long time to understand what it was. (BSOD - 'not ACPI-compliant') I almost tried everything same format of HARD drive.
Later I completely dismantled cell, cleaned up the dust inside and it works again - no BSOD.

Now I need to install my WinXP back. So I downloaded Windows XP service pack 3 CD and tried to install it.
It won't take my serial number I have on a sticker on my toshiba.

Please help me, what should I do?

I paid for WinXP (System was included in the price) and now I can't use it.

    > There was no Win XP Recovery cd (no partition recovery on the hard disc as well), just cd with drivers of toshiba in the box.

I put t think that recovery disk came with the laptop.
Recovery disk shipped with the laptop from the M40 because it s an old series of laptop and drive HARD recovery was not available on this old laptop series. If HDD recovery is not available and that the Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator was not preinstalled, then you will always get a disc of recovery with Notepad.

Therefore, I am sure this recovery disk was part of the package as the other disks (disk s, tools and utilities in Toshiba driver base) were part of the package.

The point is that the serial number which is a space at the bottom of the unit belongs to the operating system on the recovery disk.
Generally, you may not use other Windows systems.
The recovery disc has already been activated, and therefore, it was not necessary to activate it again.

Please check this page of order recovery disk Toshiba:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx
Here you can order recovery disks, but I do not know if your laptop is still supported because it 5 years.
