Support for Windows 7

Someone told me that HP stopped supporting the PC desktop with Windows 7 and are more BIOS version updates that support new video cards. Is this really true?

Only 2 years ago I bought a HP Pavilion HPE h8-1227 (Win 7 64 bit) with a Joshua-H61-Μatx mobo and now HP relesased noticed an update of the bios for Windows 8.

It's strange... I don't know no bios update cares about the OS, since its all Agnostics "pre - os".

Thus, he should be allowed to run that bios update for a Windows 7 PC, right?

Thank you for the additional information.

Here's the thing, if you use a BIOS that is not tested for the OS it is a big risk.  I can't say with certainty that it won't work, but I'm not going to recommend it.  A failed BIOS flash is not reversible!  You will have a good doorstop. In addition, do not use the guides for retail motherboards to determine what will work in HP motherboards.  They have made to their specifications and are not the same as the advice of retail.  Therefore, even if the guide says that the card is compatible with the motherboard, it is not necessarily correct.

The card you want to use must be inserted in the case and the BIOS of the hybrid is good, but I do not think that your power supply (PSU) will have the 2x75W 6-pin PCI Express power connectors to run it.  Also, it requires a power of 500W.  Your computer is 460W.  This information is in the system requirements section of the link you provided.

Here is a map that can work for you.  She also has a hybrid BIOS and does not require the additional 6 - pin PCI Express power connectors.  The only thing that concerns me is the length of the card.  It is 9.84 "in length.  You can make a model, the size of the card and try it in the space provided to see if there is enough space for the card and enough space for good air circulation.  Air flow is very important!

If you decide to go with the map in the link, please let me know how it works.  You can contact the Technical Support of MSI for directions.  They are located and that you will know if it will work for some on your computer.

Please click on the Thumbs up button '+' if I helped you and click on "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

    Hello

I have a X 70-a, and according to the plan of Toshiba support, full support for Windows 10 only will be available January 31, 2016 ('coz that's what you get when you pay 1500-2000 euros for a cell phone, right?)

Any who tried to win 10 on a similar laptop? Personally, I don't see what is the hold up and do not understand why they need half a year to offer support because most of the drivers Windows 8.1 should be available (assuming that they were well written in the first place).

"That's what I get for a laptop of 1,500 euros" is exactly what I had in mind when searching for this Web site in order to get my windows 10 drivers only to find out that I am not on the priority of Toshiba.

Keep the windows 10 update has an option to restore your old windows for a month (available in recovery at startup menu), I took the plunge by installing Windows on my 770 - 13F X 10.

Here are the problems I encountered (I guess I'll find out later):

-Windows installed a bad driver for the wifi adapter (Qualcomm Atheros) that makes the BSOD on startup. I manually installed a Windows 8.1 driver found on a non official (atheros.cz) in safe mode, with a second PC and a USB key.
Win 10 then start over, but I can not activate wifi, both front panel and fn + F8 key for wifi doesn't seem to work. If anyone has a solution or just a hint...

-The main Win 10 Search bar doesn't seem to be functional. It's weird and annoying.

  • Technical support for Windows 7

I have a HP computer factory Windows 7 installed. Where can I get support for problems with Windows? Microsoft does not seem to give him, because it is an OEM license, but the HP technical support claim that they offer no support for Windows or!

Y at - it no support for this kind of factory installed Windows?

Escalate the problem and ask for a Manager. The technical support people general HP still don't know the facts that they should. You are a paying customer, so keep pushing and demanding support under your warranty.

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

Stop using XP in April 2014.

Although I know that some companies still using Windows 2000, so...

You're not real specific-, but the basic answer to your question is to find a list of the updates through the catalogue and download/save to some media.  Integrate as much as possible in support of installation that you plan to use after the date of 'dead' of the then 13 year operating system and several.

Drivers are not the responsibility of Microsoft unless it happens to be Microsoft hardware.  Go through the manufacturer (and it is possble the manufacturer will be * no * drivers for older operating systems supply - like XP.)

    Hello

Technical support for Windows XP Media Center Edition

Because Windows XP Media Center Edition is included with your hardware device or your system, the hardware manufacturer provides technical support and assistance for this software. Your computer manufacturer may have customized the installation with unique components, such as drivers for specific devices and optional parameters to optimize performance on his material. If you want technical help with Windows XP Media Center Edition, contact your manufacturer directly. The manufacturer is no longer qualified to support the software that it is pre-installed on its products.

Are there updates on support for XP x 64? The latest version of the software only supports Vista x 64 so far, and we are unable to use it for our application.

    Thank you.

    Erik

    Hello Erik,.

Please use the support NEITHER.  From now on, we still have no support for Windows XP x 64, and due to the massive amount of Windows users from XP to Vista and beyond it is doubtful that we will in the future have the support for XP x 64.  From now on, your best bet is to stick with your current operating system, or if you need to move to 64-bit then, as you have already mentioned, we manage Vista x 64.  I hope this helps.

    Kind regards

  • fact Intel(r) 865 G Graphics support for windows 7?

My motherboard does not support windows 7 except my graphics driver. Is there a driver for it can you please sent me the link.

    You would go to Intel.

Supports (or lack thereof) of any material that you connect to your computer running any operating system actually comes of (or does not) the manufacturer of the device physics of said - not the manufacturers of the system in question.

    Web page of Intel driver

What is the specific motherboard model/manufacturer?

    32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7?

Although - frankly - looks like you're out of luck.  The manufacturer (Intel) just can not support in this operating system.

I suggest you use the page to identify your Intel® graphics controller to check what you have.

    However, please take note:

Intel released newer drivers XPDM for old graphics controllers?
Intel does not plan to release new XPDM drivers for the following former Intel graphics controllers:

    • Chipsets Intel® 915GM/GMS, 910GML Express Chipset family
    • Intel® 82915 G/82910GL Express Chipset family
    • Intel® 82865 G Graphics Controller
    • Intel® 82852/82855 graphics controller
    • Intel® 82845 G Graphics Controller
    • Intel® 82830 M Graphics Controller
    • Intel® 82815 Graphics Controller
    • Intel® 82810 Graphics Controller

So, again, you can be out of luck to try to launch a new Windows operating system (Windows 7) on a system with this video chipset without just buying another video card and put it in the system if possible.
