• Why the compressor cannot read standard JPEG 2000 MXF files?

  Compressor will open the mxf files, but it will not show the video of the JPEG-2000 standard encoded media.

  This is the de-facto standard for the format of broadcasting / digital cinema.

  In addition, I don't see that 'no compressed' under codec for export MXF.

  Without support JPEG2000 MXF is like a laptop without a keyboard.

  You are right that JPEG 2000 MXF is not supported in the compressor. If not compressed is your only option encoding MXF, download the latest versionPro video Formats here.

  I believe that adobe Media Encoder can be able to open and exit JPEG 2000 MXF. Original of the episode (Telestream) product site indicates that they just added support JPEG 2000. If you don't have either your system, you could test it on trial versions.  BOT sure what other alternatives are available. Maybe someone else here sounds.

• New version of Windows Media Player does not support extracting mp3... suggestions?

  My home computer has crashed and had to be rebuilt with the new operating system.  So I got the machine back with what I assume is a newer version of Windows XP.  New but, as usual with MicroSofty, not improved.  Now they apparenty realize that they make any money of format mp3 and everything just stopped supporting.  (imagine if Nikon stopped supporting jpeg format?  ) They try to convince you how fantastic their new WMA file format is and do you want to hunt for a bolt on app which will tear actually mp3.  And where they send that you do have an app to do what I can see.

  I installed lame, but which does not allow mp3 rips.

  Any suggestions?

  There was once a version where you had to manually install the codec BLADE. I thought it was a LONG time there, but maybe he was 10?

  This would not only have support JPEG 2000, but also support for files from archive.  While Lightroom is designed for photographers, there are many of us who use LR as a cataloguer of image as well.

  ... and before someone says "it's an obsolete format", please... Please... Please try to understand that not everyone uses LR exactly the way you do and try to understand there are institutions which is committed using .jp2 before more recent formats have been even imagined - and institutions cannot throw formats very easily on the other hand, it literally takes an act of Congress for some of these institutions.

  I know that someone has created a plug-in to support .jp2, but it was for the older to LR and I find is no longer in the list of useful plug-ins Adobe.

  Thanks for any advice/help for these types of formats of cataloguing.

  You can find this plugin here: Lightroom Plugins - products. (The modules Adobe site does very well with LR and most of the authors of widely used plugins do not use it.)

  in Bridge, set preferences to support jpeg camera (automatically

  I have problems with playback music and videos via USB. I tried to format my USB for different file systems (ntfs, fat, ms - dos, for example) and video formats, but the screen is black, I launch the media player.

  My TV has played with MS-DOS Format the photos, but no mp3 or divx/avi files. I run the multimedia player with 'video' the led of the USB stick flashes, but after a few seconds the led turn off (I think that the stick loses power).
  My other TV (LG 55LE7510 55 '') plays all video files and mp3 without any problem (ntfs and video format *.avi)

  Have you tried another USB key and the same thing happens with another USB key? Usually, you use the FAT32 format for your USB key. Then the TV will be able to recognize it and all the files it contains.

• iCloud with Windows synchronization problem

  iCloud syncs my photos from my PC, but for some reason fine any it never download my videos.  I can see my videos on icloud.com, but they don't ever upload to my PC.  I have no idea why this is... any ideas?

  Hello. I just bought HP LaserJet MFP M225dw Pro. Then I learned that it scans the file to only PDF, JPEG, and PNG.  But I need to scan in "TIFF" files very often.  Is there a solution to my very important problem?

  You will need to use a third party software or scanning software to convert the scans in Tiff format. If you search online, you will probably find a compatible.

  I can open the easyshare folder and choose the photo I have to use by dragging to the photo tray, but can't get any further.
  Also if I goto 'my documents' click on 'my photos' I am able to open the folder where I moved to and choose the photo I want to use, but yet again, I can't further.

• Mobile Lightroom can't find my raw images.

  According to the Adobe Lightroom for mobile FAQ:

  "Lightroom for mobile supports JPEG and PNG formats of images captured by the camera of your mobile device and synchronizes with Lightroom desktop. Lightroom for Android also supports DNG image format. Lightroom for iPhone and iPad also supports the native video format captured by the camera of your mobile device and sync with Lightroom Office. »

  Thus, non - DNG files camera raw are not supported in LR Mobile for Android.

• Economy twice during an action as the same file extension possible with Photoshop without overwriting the first backup?

  Hello, first time submit a question to the Adobe communities.

  I would like to be able to record twice during an action with the same file extension; How is that possible? I tried a number of methods such as: save a JPEG as a copy, renaming jpeg in jpg format, adding a line to underscore the SMALL Word after it, etc., and it keeps overwriting my first recording. I'm still not recording "in copy" feature when saving a jpeg file. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. I think that if this box is not grayed out on my second record I would be able to add the copy at the end of my file name that would create my second jpeg.

  I need this is because when I save the little and the big jpeg for our company store, I would just create an action that saves as two different sizes and then closes the file to move to another. The site on what I download is Four51 and they take a reorganization of the files, so a single method, I tried was to save the second time into action as a png but it makes it transparent and I need a white Uni.

  Tried to go into the options and disabling transparency PNG but that only works with quick export that will not register within an action (even abroad). It is a dilemma for some time, and my only way to work around it is to create the action doesn't follow: resize to 300 px wide > save as Jpeg > end of action. I play action and hit the command option I have change my size to 100 px wide for the thumbnail, then click on control shift s to record success and right arrow to add details and then save, order q, tab, space.

  If it makes no sense to anyone, I would be grateful for your advice. The only thing I can think that I have not tried is to change my background from transparent to white and then create this action: command option I have 300 px wide > order s (jpeg) > command option I have 100 px wide > command shift s (png) > w command

  I guess the only way to change your default background to white instead of transparent is to create a new document and put in place without transparent background then go further, my new documents will have white backgrounds. Do not see under my preferences?

  Something like the following action could work.

  A couple of notes:

  Image adjustment is under file > Automate > Fit Image and resizes the image to fit the specified size.

  For example, if you enter 300 in the two fields, photoshop resizes the longer side at 300 and the other dimension including the size proportionally as when you use Image > Image size to maintain Proportions checked.

  

  Photoshop uses the copy to JPEG files if the image of your savings has one or more layers or is not 8-bit/channel, because do not support JPEGs of layers or say 16 bits/channel.

  If you have only a background layer, then photoshop uses a copy when saving a jpeg file

  Thus, during the recording of the action you probably want that one-step flatten so save the first does not include copy in the name.

  To get the action record adding copy to name, open any image, add a layer, and then record save as jpeg for copy adds the jpeg save as step

• Nikon AW130 Altitude

  Hi, someone knows, why the altitude, where a photo was taken, is not displayed in Lightroom (6.0.1).

  The camera (Nikon AW130) only supports JPEG. It is a sport with GPS camera and a barometer to determine the altitude. The altitude is stored in the metadata, but is not the altitude.

  Is anyone know, if this is normal, or what I can do to solve this problem.

  This folder with all the contents of the SD card has been very useful.  I used the Exiftool free to examine the three .jpgs and none of them recorded in their metadata for altitude - the camera does not record it.  I have looked at the manual of the device, but could not find an obvious option that controls whether the altitude is saved, and I couldn't find anything useful when Googling "altitude exif aw130".   You can watch more careful Nikon and/or manual contact support.

  However, the altitude is saved in the .log file, which is in NMEA format.  I transferred the altitude to the photos in LR, successfully using the following recipe:

  1. use the free GPSBabel to convert the log file in GPX format.

  2. in the map LR module, load the GPX tracks with card > Tracklog.

  3 remove the GPS data of the photos with Photo > remove GPS coordinates.

  4. set the offset of the pictures through map time zone > Tracklog > zone offset.

  5 card > Tracklog > Auto-Tag Photos.

  Alternatively, you can use a program such as Geosetter to do this (you only need GPSBabel).
