Support of Sony BDP-S360 current FW bit BD
I just updated my firmware to 11.4.011 which was published on 10/02/2011 and almost every disc I put in the drive I am presented with an "Invalid" message on the player and the 'unknown' on the screen.
I was confuse up-to-date firmware would take care of that, but it didn't. I followed all the steps to resolve this problem on Sony.com, does not
as well as have called support and we went through these same steps, so I took a few hours to test a hand full of comics and searched the net for each disk release date. I also noticed that the BD that does not play will access the USB key I inserted into the EXT port on the back of the unity of those who do not play, and there are MANY
do not attempt to access the USB drive into the port of the POST and this is verified by the activity LED on the USB. I bought this unit at Sony Style and paid $300.00 plus tax and it seems that Sony
is not add codes used on many BD for the firmware, and given that the F/W is not recognizing these codes do not play the disc.
Sony should step up to the plate and add all these codes to the database of the FW. My PS3 gets updates every month and will play any BD you throw at it, but Sony is not only updating my stand alone. I'd like a refund on my player because it did not work it's just left sony dropped the ball.
Sony took my money for 3 S360 (two were Christmas gifts for my father and another for my son) that do not work as they are intended or advertised, I see it as flight when I did not what I paid for.
I also have a Sony S570 in another room and he plays everything. Here is the list I have compiled...

I too flashed my firmware to 11.4.011 and now the player does play blurays a lot more. I just bought the new box of Star Wars, and none of them will play. We get the error 'invalid error. Quite disturbing that a name like Sony transformed now into a bad reputation. My Panasonic player which is $ 100.00 cheaper them play beautifully. Come on Sony, fix it or lose the great name you've had for so long.

I understood that!
There are 2 types of records produced by computers - video discs and data discs. The Sony Blu - Ray player needs a video disc. I used a free application called DVD Flick to take my video in the AVCHD format data file, and convert it to the format of the DVD player needs. This includes creating a directory called "VIDEO_TS" and fitness of the data in particular file files that the DVD player can read.
I think that the support of Sony should have known this, so I'm posting here for the future use of people who have the same problem.

BDP-S360 will not play blu ray set to update firmware but not go
My Sony BDP S360 Bluray stopped playing discs Blu Ray, everyone else will play. I have updated a.007 with success, but still will not play blu ray. I always get invalid or no disc message. What to do next?
Addendum to my previous post. The drive is locked during playback of a disc, and after that this point would not recognize a blu ray. Even after updating firmware.

I have a question on the Sony BDP-S390: I get the following error message: "[eject] key is currently unavailable." Internet connection and a link to the streaming content seems to work, but it will not play/eject dvd/blu ray. Help please!
OK, I think I knew my own solution. I got the stop to play and release buttons down for about 10-15 seconds... bam! now it's working.

My new Sony BDP-BX650 has trouble streaming video from Netflix. Sometimes, it is very well and other times it stops and starts every few seconds. In addition, the appliance crashes about once a week. When this happens I have to disconnect/reconnect power cord to get it going again. We did not have these problems with our old Sony BDP-S185.
I put the DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. This only helped a bit streaming. The new player doesn't buffer content at all. Our former player did.
Oddly, turning off the quick start feature seems to have cured my problem continuously. I suspect that there is a problem with the Netflix app that shows only after that the app works for some time. Starting cold clears the issue for hours. I hope it helps someone else.

I tried to ask this question and an answer, I had not helped. The first thing that happened was: I am trying to run YouCam on one of my friends computer. It worked before, I have no idea what they were doing to what I wasn't here. The error is said when I try to open it is "Cyberlink YouCam does not support this resolution under your current settings." I tried to change the resolution in the option customize when I right-click. There are currently on the highest resolution. I tried to lower the resolution a bit, but the same error message appears. When I troubleshoot the program, it doesn't tell me how to solve this problem. When I run the troubleshooting and I click on 'Try recommended settings', it is said that the sound running Windows XP service pack 2, but the sticker on the computer Windows 7. Its a HP computer. When I run the diagnostic tests in troubleshooting, error, said YouCam program isn't an option to select. I tried updates installed in the program and that did not work. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the program, and that didn't work. I have re-uploaded CyberLink YouCam 3.5 on the site and it does not work. The new error that appears is "Cyberlink Youcam do not support a screen resolution less than 640 x 490 with 96 DPI". The resolution of the screen is 1366 x 678 (recommended setting). In addition, when I put the program in safe mode, the program will start, BUT an error pops up saying that it can not locate the device. What the * happens, have worked on this for 2 weeks and nothing works.

DLNA (function Throw) problem on my sony (bdp-s185) blueray player
I have the player of Blu - ray Sony bdp-s185, and it is connected to the internet through the LAN. However, I can't use the dlna and 'throw' videos with my xperia smartphone. I put these internet things properly, and I can watch YouTube etc.
But my phone says "Device not found", and I can't throw anything for the blueray drive.
My drive supports the functions of jet/dlna? Or is it because I missed something important during implementation?

Netflix has stopped working on sony bdp-s390
I was usin netflix on my Sony BDP-S390 fine for the last six months.
And now all of a sudden it stopped working. Yesterday. I tried to reset the player, clear the netfilx app, update the firmware. And nothing seems to work. I even found a message on this forum for to change you ip address on the player for a higher last number. (Still wondering what this could do), but that no longer works.
So, what can I do? Any ideas? Other applications of the internet on the player work fine except netflix.
same thing with me except that I now have a bunch of icons for Asian content

Auto-play is a design feature which can not be turn off. What you can do is to press stop or pause button to tell the BDP-S185 does not read the disc until you are ready to play the inserted disc.

Looking to move to a 64 bit of my current 32-bit Vista Home Premium OS
I'm looking to move from my current 32-bit to a 64-bit OS. My hardware takes care of everything and it would be much more suitable for this, my question is if I can get a 64-bit version of my current operating system for free (without a new key product of course) and simply transfer my current via product key.
I was told the product key would work for versions 32 and 64 bit, but I need a 64-bit disc. Microsoft will send me one for a free prize or a minimum so that I can update my system to the 64-bit without having to purchase a new license unnecessarily?

I was very specific in what I wrote!An OEM is 32-bit OR 64-bit, NOT both.
If a license to the retail product key should work.
