BDP-S360 will not play blu ray set to update firmware but not go

My Sony BDP S360 Bluray stopped playing discs Blu Ray, everyone else will play. I have updated a.007 with success, but still will not play blu ray. I always get invalid or no disc message. What to do next?

Addendum to my previous post. The drive is locked during playback of a disc, and after that this point would not recognize a blu ray. Even after updating firmware.

    Hello:

Yes, this model confirms that it is not a blue ray player, just an optical drive DVD - RW.

You can see a post similar to the link below where someone had a different brand with the same drive laptop and could not play Blu - Ray discs.

  • P70-A-11R satellite will not play Blu - ray movies

My recently purchased P70 - A is good (great actually!) in all respects, except it won't play Blu - ray movies.
I have not tried burning a disc again. The DVDs are very well using the Toshiba Blu - Ray disc player software.

Help advise do not run other applications when you look at the Blu - ray and is not the problem.
The supplied reader software version is: v 1.0.5.175 and I can't find any more recent version.
I put the player to region B, for discs from UK.

Symptoms: The player will launch a window on insertion of a disc but then hang indicating it's playing a chapter for a period of 30 seconds (warning copyright?) but there is no picture or audio and commands do nothing, with only Labor icon eject disc.

I tried 4 different discs well known and they all have the same result.

Anyone got any ideas to try?

    Hello world

bit of a newbie on laptops but my Qosmio dvd player won't play Blu - ray movies using the "Toshiba DVD Player", although it will play normal DVD movies no problem. I use the wrong software? search through programs pre-installed, I as ' nt seem to find those related to playback of a blue-ray disc! Or the problem would be something to do with not having the correct drivers? The laptop can read BD - RE drive, and I can look at the files but when I try and play movies Blue-ray using "Toshiba DVD player" he either says "application not found" or "launcher from DVD Toshiba cannot detect Toshiba DVD Player.

Dell Studio XPS 8100. Drive Blu - ray. PowerDVD came with the system.

Well, I just bought my first Blu - ray disc. And now it will not play. PowerDVD tells me to update the software. Then I do. I restart the software. PowerDVD still tells me to update the software. Then I do. I restart the software. PowerDVD still tells me to update the software. And yet again, I do.

And then PowerDVD will not even run at all. It crashes. I can't get anything.

No problem, I tell myself. I will contact all the customer support.

JAL out of luck - unless I want to pay.

Wait a minute. I paid for the software, when I bought the system. I'm waiting for the software to work.

I have updated the firmware of the player and for my graphics card. I jumped through all the hoops. And yet, PowerDVD crashes before I can do something with it.

So what am I supposed to do? Why won't work PowerDVD?

I see that this is not an unusual problem with the software. However, I still have to find a solution. Can someone help me?

The likely reason for Apple does not officially play Blu - ray support on its machines

is that there is no way for a software playback Blu - ray should be installed and "just works.

(Well, since all Macs since 2006 boot Camp support and XP/VISTA/WIN7 is not quite correct.  If you install windows, it works.)

There is also no Apple Blue ray software, but he needs an active internet connection to play the media.

A third party did a player of Blu - ray compatible Mac OS X, called Macgo.

Options for Blu - ray authoring have come from Apple in the form of compressor in Final Cut Studio and the third Roxio Toast Titanium.

Blu - ray burners that work with them include those sold by the calculation of the other world and MCETechnologies and both can replace the built-in DVD burner

most Macs. AirX do Blu-ray playable on iPhone/iPad/iPod touch

  • DV6 will not play blu ray

    Hello world

I have a computer laptop Pavilion dv6, who used to play Blu ray, but now he keeps asking if I want to update. When I say yes, he tries to play but cycles then return to the same question. Any suggestions? I already tried to reinstall that software dvd HP Media smart, but no luck... still won't play. Ask again if I want to update... and I want to watch the Smurfs! I'd appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

    Hello

If you use HP MediaSmart DVD to read Blu - ray disc, try the following.

HP now provides a version of PowerDVD 10 Cyberlinks which seems to be a better solution.  Download the installer for it on the link below and save it to your desktop.

    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp53001-53500/sp53029.exe

When the download is complete, open windows panneau Panel configuration, open programs and features, right click the entry for HP MediaSmart DVD and select uninstall - once this process is complete, restart the laptop.

When windows has reloaded, double-click the installer for PowerDVD 10 start the installation.  Once this done, see if your Blu - ray disc now plays OK.

    Kind regards

  • When windows media player will be able to play blu - ray?

One might think that in the 21st century windows media player keep upward over time. Of course I can buy the software from someone else, but why should I?

    Hello

WMP 12 8 win not only will not play Blu - Ray, he will not play ANY type of file or DVD movie disc...

It is because of licensing issues, and the fact that you can buy the software, or more so... even get free... is one of the reasons for Microsoft to do this...

A lot of drives\burners of DVD\Blu-Ray includes a player with the drive for free, besides other part 3ed sources...

Media Center will play if on DVD for $10 extra...

    Hi, Bob:

Have you installed the required playback blu - ray software?

If you did, then I don't know why the drive can't read the blue ray discs.

If you do not, please try this software.

  • How can I get my dvd player to play blu ray discs.

The software plays fine other DVDs, but won't play Blu Ray. This is the Pavilion dv7 3165 with operating system Windows 7 Premium. I never succeeded with this problem and thought that he would solve with updates...

Download Cyberlink Power DVD10 and save it to the desktop, not in a temporary folder

    http://FTP.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp53001-53500/sp53029.ex

After it's over, do a right click and go to properties and you should see what is in the screenshot.

There has been many problems with software programs of virus blocking critical files in the player (s) Blu - ray. For the most part, disable the antivirus or programs was sufficient, but with McAfee, it had to be completely uninstalled. If at this point, uninstall your antivirus software, no matter what it is, and if there is a special tool required by the developer to uninstall properly, use their tool when it will exist. I know Norton and, possibly, Avira requires an uninstall tool.

Once it is uninstalled restart your laptop and you will get the warning typical of Windows that the world will come to an end to crash, because you do not have an anti virus program on your computer. Just ignore it and continue with the installation of power DVD10, note that it is important that you stay connected to the internet, the software to install correctly. The link is directly from the view of HP it is has no viruses, Trojans etc attached.

After it is done installing, restart your machine. This is important.

After the restart, go to control panel, then Auto Play and make sure power DVD10 is chosen for Blu - ray discs, if it has not been chosen click the menu drop down and choose to do and save the setting. Restart your computer and go back to auto play and make sure that the setting has been saved.

Then, open the drawer of the DVD/Blu-ray with the button on the front of the drawer itself and leave the charge for Blu - ray automatically with the opening of Cyberlink DVD 10

At this point, you can reinstall your anti virus software if the drive Blu - ray continues to work then you will have to go into the advanced settings and find which files are blocked in the drive and let them. It's not always easy, so I advise to use ESET (not free) or Microsoft Security Essentials (free). I have used in the past and they never gave me any problems with my Blu - ray players.

  • Qosmio F60, PQF65A - how to play blu ray?

Hey people, I had huge difficulties in getting the blu - ray player to play blu - ray disc I've had this laptop second hand and all the manufacturer software has been uninstalled and I had to start from scratch.

Currently, I have a Toshiba V3.01.1.07 DVD player - has. I have tried very hard to find a patch or a player that will allow me to play the blu ray. Even the VLC media player won't do. His frustration the life out of me.

I d/l so many versions of WinDVD, but nothing helped. I get a message saying that it is not compatible with my current version.

    Help, please.

Do you use it with the original pre-installed OS that you got with your laptop?

  • Can Pavilion dv6 (2010, Windows 7) play Blu - Ray discs? If so, how to operate?

    Hello!

    I have a computer laptop dv6 Pavilion 2010 (Windows 7), and I can't play Blu - Ray discs.

In my control panel (Control Panel-> hardware) and sound-> Auto Play, it lists "Blu - Ray Disc movie" as one of the media types, I can choose a value for default, but the only options it gives me are: "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer", "Take no action" and "Ask Me every time."  So, I can not select a program to use to read discs Blu - Ray here.

I tried to put in a Blu - Ray disc and see if it will open with Windows Media Player, iTunes, and HP MediaSmart, but none of these programs recognize there is a disc in the drive.

When I insert the disc, the computer seems to recognize that I put something in, but when I check "Devices with removable storage" in the folder "My Computer", it is said that there is no disc in the drive.

    Then... I have two questions.
    (1) can my computer even Blu - Ray discs play?

    (2) if it is able to do, why my computer doesn't recognize Blu - Ray discs I put in?

I don't really know what I would do to this subject, so if someone saw that they are willing to give, I would really appreciate it!

    Thank you!!
