SVN and Coldfusion Builder 3

I just started using CF Builder 3 after spending a few weeks with CF Builder 2.  I used Dreamweaver in the past and therefore do not know that Eclipse.

I could never get the svn to work even with the help of the instructions on www.trunkful.com.  Now with 3 CFBuilder, I wonder if I need to try to go through the same process to set up subversion. (I use Tortoise SVN)  If the answer is "Yes", on Trunkful.com, it was suggested that you "make sure that you use the right Eclipse Helios repository, Ingo, Juno, Kepler, etc.".  How choose a good Eclipse repository working with CFBuilder 3?  Any other useful tips on getting subversion for working with CFBuilder 3?

in Eclipse 64-bit, you must install a little differently you cannot use the update site to get the correct version.

Use the writeup here to go from SVN

Subclipse: Wiki: JavaHL

64-bit Windows

Since versions 1.8.x Subclipse, native binaries for 64-bit Windows are included with Subclipse so it includes everything you need. For older versions of Subclipse, follow these instructions:

If you use a 32-bit JAVA virtual machine, then Subclipse should work. If you use a 64-bit JVM, then you must provide a 64-bit version of JavaHL. Such distribution is SlikSVN you can get here:

http://www.sliksvn.com/en/download

With this package installed Subclipse should find JavaHL on the path and simply not work.

    Hello

I use ColdFusion builder for my development CF.  Since it is so similar to Eclipse, I was wondering if it is possible to develop Android applications using CF generator with the Android ADT Eclipse plugin.  Has anyone tried this before?  Is it still possible?

    Thank you!

    Michael

The only difference - for all purposes useful - between the two versions of the BFC is that the a "stand-alone" has Eclipse bundled with it. While the plugin version is intended for those who already have Eclipse installed and want to install CFB in this.

"Built on top of the Eclipse infrastructure" is marketing-speak because "it's a plugin Eclipse" ;-)

  • Project SVN and server invisible

We are all new to CFBuilder, but have used Dreamweaver for more than 10 years and CF since 1996.

We have a SVN repository and when we loaded to the top of our CFBuilder trial version, we added to the repository, and then we created a project based on the repository. We choose New-> Project because New-> Coldfusion Project did not have the option to attach it to a SVN repository.

We have five loaded servers and listed in the servers box, yet, when we're going to run a file, it says there are no linked servers. We went in properties-> HTML Preview-> change workspace settings, but our servers do not appear in the drop-down menu. When we try to add new, we are warned that the server already exists. When we give the same server, a new name, we are more sophisticated that there is already a server under this IP address / host name and does not connect, but adds the duplicate server.

Where did we go wrong?  How do we get a test server connected to a project so that we can get a glimpse and deliver our programs in development?

I just wanted to inform you anyone who stumbles across this thread to know I solved this problem.

    1. When you create the workspace, save yourself trouble and use a name of workspace of Word unique to the client or the project you are working on. "Microsoft." "Adobe", "BobsPharmacy".  Create this workspace in your ColdFusion WWWRoot directory if you are independent or under the directory wwwroot inetpub if you use a server.

    2. do NOT first create projects.  Create SVN Repositories. This link may help a little: http://www.trunkful.com/index.cfm/2011/7/11/ColdFusion-Builder-2-and-the-Subversive-Plugin

    3. When you have created and filled the SVN Repositories in CFB, SO ONLY proceed you.

    4. create a PROJECT of COLD FUSION (NOT a project svn or other).   Be CAREFUL to use a project name that corresponds to the folder in the foreground of your project, which reports directly to the workspace.

    5. for the location of the project, point to the TRUNK directory!  You will need to uncheck the box use the default location for access.

5.b. you have your 'server' put in place? If not, do so now.

    6. once it's done, and you try to view, it will likely be mistake. Right click on the project, choose preview HTML, check the settings of alternative workspace (you do not have your server, the maximum value?), click on the radio button use absolute URL, check the box add the relative path to the project and enter a URL that you have tested in an external browser. ON a stand-alone installation of CF, it will end up looking for something like that, that as a whole goes in the URL box: http://127.0.0.1:8500/BobsPharmacy/bobswebsite/trunk /

There are the clues for you. Good luck.

Oh, and if you keep separate server on each machine variables, this is the way to independence: http://code.google.com/p/configcfc/

  • Need to download ColdFusion Builder 3.0.0.0 build 292922

Where can I download a copy of ColdFusion Builder 3.0.0.0 Build 292922?  I have licenses for this but not the version of 2016.  Thank you.

    Sure Tom.

For all Adobe products, only the current version would be available on www.adobe.com. If you want the latest version, i.e. 2016 BFC, you can download it from the Adobe Web site. If you purchased an earlier version, then you can connect to www.adobe.com and download the product (say CFB 3) from your account.

If you are not in the above two categories, then you can send an email to [email protected] and ask the same thing.

    Hope that answers your query.

    Kind regards

How to install Git on Coldfusion Builder 2 using Coldfusion 10?

You must install EGit, an Eclipse plugin.  Go to the Help menu and select "Install New Software".  At the top of the dialog box, choose the site for the Eclipse Indigo repository.  Under the Group Collaboration of plugins, find EGit or Eclipse Git team provider.

  • Updates to ColdFusion Builder?

I guess this helps > check updates is just a tease. It seems that the only way to get ColdFusion Builder 2 Update 1 is to download the trial version, uninstall my current version and install the new version? Is this correct? Or is there a better way?

    Thank you.

    Michael,

ColdFusion Builder 2 Udate 1 is a full installer.

If you are Windows OS then installing Coldfusion Builder 2 Update 1 installer uninstall your old version and install the updated version, but before you uninstall the previous version, it will ask the user with a message of dialogue he wants to uninstall the previous version and proceed with the installation, if the user doesn't accept that the installer will uninstall the previous version and then install the veriosn update IE Udate ColdFusion Builder 2 1.

If you are on Mac OS, to install ColdFusion Builder 2 Udate 1 you must manually uninstall the previous version and then proceed with the installation of the latest version.

  • Cannot add 10 Coldfusion as a local server to Coldfusion Builder 2

I followed the instructions provided by Adobe to set up a local server and keep getting "cannot find the JNDI port. Make sure that you have provided the correct server information.

When I change to a remote server, I can browse the server with the CFB 2 objects.

I would like to install it as a local server, but cannot make it work.

RDS on the server is turned on and I triple confirmed the password.

    Hi jvc714,

There is more than one thing, we can try.  First of all, here is a step I found I do 100% of the time after a new installation of CF:

    (1) to the CF Admin > debugger settings, uncheck the option button (deactivate) the "allow line debugging" and click on "submit changes".

    (2) then check (enable) the "allow line debugging" and click on "submit changes".

    (3) restart CF

    (4) test debugger in CFB again (window > Preferences > Adobe > RDS Configuration > button "Test Debugger" and "Test connection")

Please let us know the result of a click on these 2 buttons.

There may also be a port number.  There are two ports: a Port "Debugger" and a "debugger" Server Port.  1 is configurable via Admin, SEE > debugging and logging > debugger settings.  The 2nd is random by default unless forced by a JVM to the CF Admin switch > Java and JVM > JVM Arguments and then add this JVM arg if necessary:-DDEBUGGER_SERVER_PORT = X (where X represents the fixed debugger Server Port you want to use FC/BFC) then restart CF.

GTG for now, hope that helps!

  • new download Coldfusion Builder 2

I just downloaded ColdFusion Builder 2 and insatll on my computer and the server for the new Setup project.

I have not C:\ColdFusion 9 on my computer, when I wanted to add a server.

It seems that I have to install ColdFusion Server to try to create a new project.

Am I wrong? Can I use IIS as my local web server and tests?

If I need ColdFusion Servver so where do I download and install and test on my local machine.

    Your help is very appreciated,

    iccsi

Yes, that would be one of these devices requires a ColdFusion server. You cannot view what will look like a page without a server in order to treat it, right?  If you need to install and configure a local CF server, or connect to a remote server (which would require the files to download).

In general, if someone wants to use the tabs in FireFox and IE, they will have a local server installed and configured CF.

Once you have a CF server ready to go you can however connect your project by right-clicking the project and choosing "Properties". There, you can add a new server and assoiate with a project.

  • ColdFusion Builder 2 questions

    Hello

I had been at SOTR this month of March and I attended a session (after Adam and Terry keynote) on ColdFusion Builder 2 by Sagar. The session was great, did not expect an engineer to come Adobe with a great creative presentation (special mention to the slide explaining the research and summary). I had taken a note of each and everything Sam explained and made a point to test the functionality. I had a little chat with Sagar and another engineer (whose name I am not able to remember now) at the bar. I'm happy to see the manufacturer offering tons of features, but I'd mentioned a few improvements to Sagar who can add more value and type to make the feature complete.

I am using Builder 2 for about a week and noted that none of the improvements had been fixed in the final version, any means to put it here.

    1. Quick Fix: I use eclipse for Java and ColdFusion development. In eclipse, the quick fix feature adds the comment TODO once the stub has been generated. I expect Builder to do this, but it just has generated the method in my component. Congratulations to the team of support through tasks TODO.
    2. Quick fix for the return type: if I specify the return type of method and if there is no cfreturn should provide ther quick fix option
    3. Research: I do a lot of research of the tag, but the interface to search for a string isn't very good. I know it's from DW, but hey eclipse isn't DW, those who, like DW will use DW and not overshadow. Why new DW style search engine in eclipse. Should be an option to view eclipse. Some might like the interface, but not all, offer an option to switch to eclipse search and I will be happy.

The start page looks great, much better than the manufacturer 1. Sagar has mentioned that it is dynamic and ColdFusion news contains the latest stories of the team. The extensions contain the new extensions on RIA forge. I see that through the start page. What happened to that? You all forgot it. Update the page regularly. This could be a manager or do marketing work guys, I guess that no Adam and Alison means no marketing team. Everyone is amplifying?

In addition, Extensions, I think that Luis has created extension for ColdBox, what is the only extension that is available on the market that is built with the new improvements of the Extension. I would like to try Extensions, but start page shows me the same always.

I spoke about these improvements of Sagar and he told me that there are improvements for the latter. So I guessed, I don't need not connect a new which would obviously be a duplicate. There the team intend to publish an update any time? If so, these problems and I you guys will have a beer when I see one in the next tape

I use shortcuts and code help features more often than others and I'm very happy with it. Good work team.

    Thank you South,

WRT the Quick Fix improvements - not found enough time and fix these reviewed to deal with in the next version of ColdFusion Builder.

WRT the search function - the search box features in a similar way as the find eclipse dialog box or pressing the shortcut key CTRL + F "Search of ColdFusion" dialog box is displayed. The focus is on the text box to 'Find' when the Find dialog box is called. If the user selects all of the text, the text box to 'Find' will contain the selected text. It behaves very similar to the search feature of eclipse. In addition, we have added features such as searching in different scopes (including research on RDS and FTP), tag search etc. We thought that keep it all in the same dialog box would help users to identify the various search functions.

start page of WRT - I shared your concerns with others in the team and we will be updating the start page soon.

    Thank you

    Sagar.

  • reset the colors of the coldfusion builder Editor

Ive really messed up my colors editor of coldfusion builder, but cannot reset the

I tried the resrore defualts in preferences > coldfusion > editorProfiles > Editor

    but nothing happened.

Maybe I need to delete some files from prefs xml somewhere?

There is a hidden folder in your home directory for the workspace that has all sorts of settings in it.  This is one of them.

The hidden folder is called .metadata.

    So, go to /.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.core.runtime/.settings

Then rename the file com.aptana.ide.editors.prefs in com.aptana.editors.prefs.old

Then restart Eclipse. This clearsout any cusotm color sets back you to default values and settings.

Hope this helps, it worked when I tested it.

  • Multiple instances of ColdFusion Builder on the same system?

    Hi people,

Four of us working remotely in my company.  It is not uncommon for use us to all the remote desktop in a system reserved for our use and three of us CFEclipse at the same time.  We have recently installed ColdFusion Builder on this system and found that it would only allow a single instance of ColdFusion Builder to run.  When you try to start a second instance of CFBuilder would show the screen flash and then nothing more.

Is anyone aware of workarounds or other changes that will allow us to run multiple instances of CFBuilder on the same system?

    Thanks in advance,

    Thomas Woestman

    Will address this issue.

But for the moment as a solution, when you want start generator CF if there is file .bolt please remove the .bolt of

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe ColdFusion Builder\. And you will be able to launch even while the other kept open.

    Thank you

  • Flex 4 and Coldfusion 8

    Hi all

I'm new to Flex. I just started a simple project whose type of Server Application Coldfusion Flash Remoting (using Flex 4 and Coldfusion 8). After the export release build in a coldfusion server folder all I see is "page is not found" if I use the URL http://localhost/test2/test2.html if I use this URL file:///C:/ColdFusion8/wwwroot/test2/test2.html it works very well. Can someone please help me solve this problem?

    Thank you very much!

    Don

If you see a page not found error, then you try to access the bad page name / directory structure or you have not downloaded the file in a directory accessible from the web.

Normally, you will place the release are used to build in a directory of your site web (for example, IIS or Apache), not a ColdFusion installation directory.  Did you do that?

If you have access to a remote web server, you you FTP your Release version of your web server?  Just exporting on your local machine will not make remotely accessible to the public.
