On Web sites with a background, I can see the background through where the .swf file should be.   I have an email with an attachment that was sent to me in the .swf (shockwave flash) format. When I click to open it, it does not automatically start playing, I have download and choose IE or wmv player to open. I tried free file converters, but none works. I send this email to about 30 other people I work with and I wish they could just click on the attachment in the email and it pull up without having them to choose program to open it with. All employees, including me use Windows XP SP3 and IE 8. I tried opening in different browsers and on a windows machine 7. Adobe flash player is installed on every PC, so what else can be done. I don't think that I had to open a .swf file before.

  Now, navigate to the file to the location where you saved it just. Right-click on the file and choose "Merge" in the menu. Windows may ask permission to continue, click 'Continue' or 'OK '. That's all! Windows Media Player will now play all your local .swf files without complaining.

  Method 2 - manual registry editing (for the more experienced users of the registry editor):

  Open the Registry Editor (IE run "regedit.exe" and give Windows permission to continue).

  Browse your way to the next folder...

  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Lockdown_Zones\0

  In this folder '0' (zero), look for the entry "1200 REG_DWORD 0 x 00000003 (3)" in the display pane.

  Right-click on the '1200' and choose 'change... '. ». Change the value to highlight '3' to '0 '. Press OK. The entry is now shown as "1200 REG_DWORD 0x00000000 (0)» Close the registry editor.

  This simple procedure to now Windows Media Player read the local .swf files.

  Now you have finished this fix, it may be useful to change the opening program by default for your .swf to Windows Media Player files. I find it more convenient than playing them through Internet Explorer.

  I'm trying to understand how to use action script to export files on the timeline as a SWF file for each folder. I understood how to do layers, but I'm trying to figure out how to make a layer group in a folder as the SWF. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.   You can check if the layer is a "record", and you can check if the layers have the same parentLayer (and so are in the same folder).

  I'm trying to manipulate a swf file containing multiple images inside, but I can't image of it.

  The detail of what I mean is:

  I imported a swf file to a cast member. Then, I created a sprite on stage with the contents of this member. Finally, as I need to zoom, I made a copy of the Member image using the command "copyPixels" and the content is displayed without problems on stage. So far so good.

  The problem appears when the swf file contains several images. If I move for them (using for example getToFrame (sprite (num), 2) to go to the second), on stage, it shows the corresponding image without problems. But if I do a "copyPixels" using the reference to the Member when the SWF has been on scene is always displays the first image.

  I tried to make a copy of the scene when the sprite shows one frame other than the first, but this option didn't allowed me to get the picture, which indicates that the property is not available.

  Any idea of solution?
