Symbol of OM in the Pages

I plan to move from Neo Office iWork. At this point, the only thing that I can't find in the Pages is the way to insert an Om symbol in a Pages document. So, is it possible to do in Pages? A document in format Word of Neo Office has an Om symbol in it, and it makes very well in Pages. I don't see how I can insert the symbol without opening the document and the copy and pasting in another. Thanks for the tips!

You can insert symbols of the Devanagari and Gujarati Om in a couple of ways.

  1. Direct entry on the page document via Control Panel symbols & Emoji character
    1. Edit menu: emoticons & symbols
      1. See the gear icon in the upper left corner of the character Panel, select Customize list...
      2. Click on Scripts of South Asia
        1. Check the Devanagari, Gujarati and other necessary. These categories will be added to the Panel.
      3. Search for Devanagari Om in the window search for Emoji Panel & symbols
      4. Double-click the character of Om in the display of the main panel and it will be inserted into your Pages document.
  2. Substituting Text
    1. System Preferences: keyboard: text
      1. Click on the plus sign to add the replacement string
        1. d_om (arbitrary name)
      2. Tab above field
        1. Sign emoticons & symbols, search for Devanagari Om and double-click the symbol you want to insert. Press return to set.
      3. Repeat steps above if necessary text Substitution for Gujarati, or other
    2. In the Pages, the value menu Edit: Substitutions: replacing text
    3. When you type the string d_om in Pages, a pop-up will appear, and any pressure from key, or SPACEBAR will perform the substitution. If you don't want the substitution, and then press the ESC key or click on the x in the pop-up window.

    Looks like it's more a problem of police with the iPad having not the police symbol to display the symbols.

    The job easier would be for anyone who is sending them to send you a PDF or convert a JPG file, which the iPad would be just as a picture of their document.

    Or you can experiment with other word processing applications to see if they read the symbols. Unless they have a free version or 'lite' which can be a costly experience.

  • Downloaded Firefox 4 and now no longer see the Verisign symbol anywhaere on the page or bars warning.

    A necessary thing, to see when you sign into a site id Web Audit Web site as provided by companies like Verisign. In Firefox 4 the Verisign warning symbol that changes when unknown elements are found on a page is no longer located on the page or the bars of the window of the browser. Is there something that should be set up to see this vital protective function?

    On older versions of Firefox - it appeared as a small lock wicker. If the site was a suspect the lock would show with a red bar top (on earlier versions), then with a small visual extension. It's all above and beyond the https in the address bar. Any information on this would be appreciated. Best regards, John to Brothertown books

    The padlock shows only that there is a secure connection and does not guarantee that you are connected to the right server.

    So you could always be connected to the wrong server if you make a typing mistake in the URL and someone said that mistyped the URL.

    The lock feature has been replaced by the How do I know if my connection to a Web site is secure? on the left end of the address bar.

    I spend a lot of time reading and learning on the Apple discussion forums, but all of a sudden my text size became too small. While I can easily adjust to the size of reading, which unfortunately also increases the size of the page and as a result I have to drag left and right pages to read continuously or click on the symbols...     There should really be a non-technical way of this operation and thus creating a permanent framework. All of my pages of BBC can be addressed via the parameters of 'content', but it does not affect Apple talk pages.

    The great symbol of Firefox on the left end of the task bar displays all the current windows - including windows 'private browsing '. This makes it almost useless IMO "private browsing". How can I remove this symbol?

This seems to work as well in private and no private windows, however, it does not appear to have an option to do this automatically in all private windows.     When you connect to secure sites, there was a lock on the lower right part of the page that shows that the site is safe and secure. If the secure Web site wasn't sure a red line would cover the lock. I don't have it more since I've updated from 3.8 to 6. Are my secure such as banking etc. always secure sites. Why have I lost this lock symbol?

    Padlock is therefore more part of Firefox; It has been removed from Firefox 4 the cadenas watch there is a secure connection, but provides no additional information. You could make a typographical error, and have always been connected to a secure connection. The lock was replaced in Firefox 3 with the Site identity button. Familiarize yourself with the Site identity button at the left end of the address bar:

    You must update some plug-ins:

  • OfficeJet 6500 e709: prints w / scale on the left margin and does not print right side of the page

    Prints with a wide margin and does not print the last 2 "or 3" on the right side of the page. This occurs even when the value of the left margin to little or none.

    HP trouble shoot said there is nothing wrong and test page prints fine.  Then back to the problem so try to print.

    I see your thoughts produce a wide margin left and right of the page is cut off. What program are you printing from, and this occurs when you print from all programs or just a particular program?

    I see your post that this is not happening when you print a test page, so I think the problem is somehow related to the driver or program that you use. Let's start with the HP print and Scan Doctor is a free utility (tool) that allows to quickly resolve problems printing, scanning and connectivity, including but not limited to:

    • Connectivity:

      USB: Check that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product works properly.

      Network: Verifies that the network connection between your computer and your network is working properly.

    • Device Status Test: checks the errors of the device, such as paper, paper jams, stands transport and paper issues and provides instructions to resolve the error.

    • Driver: checks the driver missing or corrupt files.

    • Device Manager: check the problems in Device Manager that could prevent printing.

    • Device online: check if the product has been suspended or put in offline and then sets the State back in line if necessary.

    • Print queue: checks and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a newspaper for printing waiting to print).

    • Port Match: check the port settings for the HP product.

    • Device conflicts: check the conflicts with other drivers, such as the other brands of printers.

    • Ink issues: check the cartridges and the ink levels for issues that affect the print quality.

    • Print settings: check and adjust the print quality settings.

    • Test print: print a test page for the assessment of the print quality and provides options for cleaning and if necessary print head alignment.

    • Scan tests: check the scanning mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.

    If this does not resolve the problem, after back and let me know if there are all the symbols except the Green checkmarks and what they are next of course. The key is not always easy to identify the key and check mart are in the green circle.

    • If you see only the Green checkmarks (), the tool did not find any problem.

    • If you see green sides (), the utility identified a problem and fix it automatically.

    • If you see yellow exclamation points (), the test failed and requires monitoring of the user, but the step was ignored.

    • If you see a red X (), follow the onscreen instructions to fix the problem.

    Quit Adobe Creative Cloud app.

    (1) right-click on the icon in the Finder, then select 'Go - To' folder.
