Sync iPod Playlists

I can't get my iPod Classic to synchronize with a new playlist.

  • My iTunes is running version 12.4.1
  • I have about 146 GB memory left on my iPod Classic
  • The testing Device Sync diagnostic tests keep saying no iPod, iPhone or iPad found"but I am still able to buy, download and synchronize the previous songs Playlists on my computer iTunes library and my previous iPod class mp3
  • My computer runs on Windows 10 - could that be the cause of the problem?
  • When I connect my iPod Classic to my computer it says that it is connected and he said I'm Syncing, but when he is done - the new playlist does not appear on the iPod

I don't know what to do next

Hey rodger186,

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple. I know it's important to be able to sync all of your music on your iPod, so I'm happy to give you advice to get this playlist works well for you again.

To start, make sure that you follow all the steps in the article below. This article also has some alternative methods for synchronization, which you might want to try as well.

12 iTunes for Windows: iPod, iPhone, or iPad sync

If you continue to have problems with this particular playlist after going through these articles, then try "withdrawal" playlist of your iPod by going to the Sync screen music for your iPod and by unchecking the playlist in question and synchronization. Once you have synchronized the playlist on your iPod, select it, and then sync it again.

You can also try to add some of these titles to a new playlist and sync that to see if there's perhaps own titles that could cause this problem for you.

The following steps should help you to isolate the cause of your problems.

Have a great rest of your day, cheers!

    Hi zronw!

Thank you to use the community of Apple support about this where the selection is not appear after you try to synchronize your MacBook Pro.  You certainly did a few good troubleshooting far steps.  I'd be the same way and would like my music appears on my iPhone right after I tried to sync it.  No worries, we have some other measures to do so that it will properly syncs.

The first thing we want to look at is to make sure that your MacBook Pro is up to date since the last version is 10.11.5.  To do this, follow the steps described in this article:

OS X El Capitan: keep your Mac up-to-date

If she is not always sync correctly after that, we would like to reinstall iTunes on your MacBook Pro.  Do this step will do nothing with your iTunes library and you do not need to remove the version of iTunes is always there.  All you need to do is to make sure iTunes is closed, then go to this link to download and install iTunes:

    Download iTunes

After that, open iTunes, plug in your iPhone and it should allow you to sync your playlists as usual now.

    Have a great day!

  • How can I sync the playlist of Safari on my iPhone for Safari on my windows machine?

First of all, I must say that I was really happy to see Safari for windows! Thank you!!! Chrome and IE were all two overclocking my machine and the cooling fan will not turn off. I did the same 'stress test' with Safari and the memory usage is less than 25% of the other two.

On the question: How can I sync the playlist of Safari on my iPhone for Safari on my windows machine? I downloaded the iCloud (iCloud desktop application) Control Panel and updated all my information.

When I go in the Favorites section of the Control Panel, there is no option for Safari. The only options that are present are: Internet Explorer, Firefox (not installed), and Chrome. I did a lot of research, but can't seem to find a solution...

    Thank you!

What version of Safari installed on Windows? What version of Windows are you using?

I have the macbook pro (OS 10.6.8) and the iphone 6 s. The latest version of iTunes is 11.4. How to synchronize or import/export files(images/music)?  Fact is need to update itunes? Also you can sync ipod touch?

iOS9 on a mobile device requires iTunes 12.3 or higher, which in turn requires a computer running OSX 10.8.5 or higher.  Update of the system only checks the updates for the current version of the system you run, but that itself can be updated.  It may or may not be possible to upgrade your computer to the system requirements. Find your computer on the web site of http://www.everymac.com model and near the bottom of the specification of the system section, he will tell what versions of the operating system, it is able to run. If you can not run a newer system, you will not be able to sync this phone to your current computer. If she can run 10.8.5 or higher, you can either buy a download for Apple OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion code online, or you can try to install the free El Capitan OSX 10.11.  El Capitan can run slower on older machines and require the additional purchase of RAM.  Making a big jump in versions of system is also more likely to affect the old software.

When I sync a playlist on a Flash drive, the playlist doesn't is not made with her.  Simply copy playlists to a folder on the drive Flash doesn't seem to work.

It would also be good to have an option to carry with the sync album art too.

You cannot synchronize a playlist on a Flash drive.

However, it is possible if you have the SyncPlaylist installed on the computer.

  • I've lost the ability to sync my playlists from my mac to mac iPhone and iPod since the latest updates made!

I've lost the ability to check what playlists I want to sync between my computer laptop mac and my iPhone and iPod. When I look for my playlist it only shows "all my songs. I can see my playlists in the sidebar on the left, but I don't have a summary page let me choose what songs or lists I want to synchronize with other devices. Anyone know how to go back to the way it was, or should I give up iTunes and lose all the songs that I bought!

You won't see the playlist on the left sidebar.

Select the iPhone at the top left of iTunes.

    Click on music.

  • Sync iPod Original laptop

I just factory reset my Dell laptop. I heard that if you have a 'new' phone and you try to synchronize your ipod with songs existing on this subject, your entire library will be deleted. How can I add new songs/sync my ipod now, without wiping everything I have on it? I think I have the 4th or 5th generation ipod. Help, please...

Ideally, you should restore your iTunes data complete (including the file in your library and all the flies of media), instead of unloading of files only song to an iPod.  It's better, because you get the same iTunes library (with the data, such as playlists, ratings, play count, the data added, etc.) on the new installation of Windows.  If you can do it, because you have a backup of data from before the "factory reset" of your laptop, please report it to for more information.

Otherwise, you cannot use iTunes to transfer files of song from iPod to computer (with the exception of songs purchased on iTunes Store).  By design, iTunes sync is generally in one direction, from iTunes to iPod library.  However, there are methods and third party utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do an Internet search on something like 'ipod music transfer', you should get a few useful links, including a CNET article on the subject.

Once your files of songs from the iPod to your disk, add them to your new iTunes library.  Completion of your iTunes library, you can synchronize the iPod for her.  Your iPod is initially clear, but is again responsible for your new iTunes library.

  • problem syncing iPod touch with iTunes

Hi, I had a problem syncing my iPod touch with iTunes. I get a message indicating that there is not enough free space to hold items in the iTunes library, which indicates that I need about 43 GB.

I tried to take as much data on my laptop thinking it would make more space available to my iTunes library which is held on my laptop.

I had a problem some time with the storage of data files and program files. I divide the hard drive and I have a Macintosh HD 2, but also a main drive of the HD. I find that I have an iTunes library in two HD players, so I think I have a duplicate library.

My iTunes app shows that I have a size of music library of-33,40 GB containing elements of 6940. My iPod touch has 6920 songs and 33 videos, 15 photos, 14 applications. The ability of the iPod touch is 56.4 GB, with 2.8 GB available.

If the problem is the duplication of library, can I remove in double track of the HD2, and how to change tp parameters to stop duplication.

Duplication of audio content seems to be a concern for you. If you have a desktop Mac, open iTunes/library/display the duplicate items. You can view and edit tracks easily.

If you do not have a Mac desktop computer, the question is a bit tricky; There is no way to detect mp3 duplicates except manually.

The good news is that the majority of your data bloat is likely to be in the 33 videos. I could most of the videos of archives and see what happens. (I have banned all THE videos of my iPod Touch and I couldn't believe how much I got space).

  • Unable to sync iPod Touch 2nd generation

My father has an iPod Touch 2nd generation he is used to synchronize the contents of iTunes.

It is OS x 10.11.6 and iPod has the latest iOS available (4.2.1). I tried to reset the iPod, but it won't always sync to iTunes (12.4.3). This generation is too old to synchronize with iTunes? I do not understand because my old 7th generation iPod classic allows you to synchronize perfectly well.

What exactly happens when you try to synchronize?
