Unable to sync iPod Touch 2nd generation

My father has an iPod Touch 2nd generation he is used to synchronize the contents of iTunes.

It is OS x 10.11.6 and iPod has the latest iOS available (4.2.1). I tried to reset the iPod, but it won't always sync to iTunes (12.4.3). This generation is too old to synchronize with iTunes? I do not understand because my old 7th generation iPod classic allows you to synchronize perfectly well.

What exactly happens when you try to synchronize?

  • IPod touch 2nd generation, cannot start the dfu mode

    Hello!

I have a 2nd generation Ipod which is is disabled because of lost password. So I know no more iOS type.

The problem is that I can't open the dfu mode even if I tried "all" solutions that the web has to offer.

Whenever I have connect the ipod to the pc, Itunes response is "Itunes can not connect to the device because it is locked. "You need to type the code before it can connect to iTunes."

I tried the approach that Apple recommended but it does not work. The final solution, I tried was to download recboot and see if I could activate this way dfu mode, but only has not to be helped.

Turn off the iPod Touch. Press in and hold the home button while connecting to iTunes, make sure that you press and hold the home button before you connect and keep holding until you see the recovery screen, must look like the one below. Once to this iTunes screen should warn you that it detects an iPod in recovery mode and needs to restore. Now, just click on restore and iTunes will restore the iPod touch, no code necessary. I hope this has helped!

  • Transfer music on computer to touch 2nd generation

I have 30 GB of music on my old iPod touch 2nd generation. I want to transfer it to my Windows laptop.

my laptop has a lot of music in there. I don't want to lose any music from another place by synchronizing it. I just want that it everything on my laptop in one place! Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

You cannot transfer content for your iPod to your computer.  You can only sync to the computer on your iPod.  You will need to download the music form the previous computer that you used to put songs on your iPod or get form them their original source (like the CD you copied from or site you downloaded in source).  If the songs are on the iTunes Store, you can re - download them to your computer by following these instructions: download your past - purchases Support Apple

  • iPod touch 5th generation needs "update."

Hi, I recently replaced my iPod touch 5th generation (32 GB) because my only previous has been damaged. I tried to sync it with my itunes on my laptop (Windows 7), but was greeted with a message saying I can't, because the iPod needs the latest version of itunes.

The problem is that he already has. I updated my iPod iOS 9.3.2 earlier today, and this does not resolve the issue. my iTunes is also updated to the latest version (12.1.2) so there is no latest version updated to.
I tried to turn my iPod and my laptop and turn it on again, and who has not fixed the problem.

I really want to get my music, please help.

For the latest version of iOS, you need iTunes 12.3 or later version. This means that for a PC Win 7 or a later version. On a Mac, you need 10.8.5 or later version.

iOS9 on a mobile device requires iTunes 12.3 or higher, which in turn requires a computer running OSX 10.8.5 or higher.  Update of the system only checks the updates for the current version of the system you run, but that itself can be updated.  It may or may not be possible to upgrade your computer to the system requirements. Find your computer on the web site of http://www.everymac.com model and near the bottom of the specification of the system section, he will tell what versions of the operating system, it is able to run. If you can not run a newer system, you will not be able to sync this phone to your current computer. If she can run 10.8.5 or higher, you can either buy a download for Apple OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion code online, or you can try to install the free El Capitan OSX 10.11.  El Capitan can run slower on older machines and require the additional purchase of RAM.  Making a big jump in versions of system is also more likely to affect the old software.

  • I have ipod shuffle 2nd generation and need new charger (dock) can still buy these?

I have ipod shuffle 2nd generation and need new charger (dock) can still buy these?

Apple no longer sells the official replacement of the USB cable with the "cradle".  Do not buy the replacement USB docking cable for the current 4th gen (3rd generation) iPod shuffle, because it does not work with 2nd gen shuffle (the connector is different).

There are 3 replacements of party, for example

    http://www.Amazon.com/eForCity-Sync-Charger-cradle-shuffle/DP/B0042EB270/

There are other products similar, including some who do not have the cradle, and some who do not even have a cable (like this one)

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/USB-data-sync-charger-cable-for-Apple-iPod-shuffle-2nd-G balances - / 221546931454

Ensure that the product is described as being the shuffle gen 2  I'd go with one that has a docking station, because it maintains the shuffle at a constant specific position compared to the socket, which can be important for a shuffle gen 2.

  • iPod Shuffle 2nd generation

I downloaded songs from Apple's music on my computer but they still not download on my iPod Shuffle 2nd generation. Help!

Downloads of Apple's music service are written songs, not owned songs.  You cannot load them onto an iPod (except iPod touch).  These song files use DRM (copy protection) as required by the content producers.  During playback of music by Apple downloads, the unit checks the status of your subscription to Apple's music through the Internet.  iPod shuffle doesn't have an Internet connection.

  • My iPod nano 2nd generation gets disk errors after installing iTunes?

I use my iPod nano 2nd generation for... Wow little almost 10 years now and of course is not as sensitive, a little laggy sometimes, battery life isn't as good but still never had real problems with it that can be repaired by a reset. Well not until now and I have not really money to spend to get a new, in particular the fact that practically it still works fine on his own, just that I can not add or remove pieces of her more.

    The problem

It seems that the computer has trouble reading the device. Whenever I plug my iPod nano 2nd generation USB in my laptop (Windows 10), which has some sort of interaction with it freezes. For the moment I plug in, programs such as Winamp, iTunes, File Explorer (if I click my computer-> try to right click on the drive, that says all F: drive instead of the usual name recognized as "My iPod."), the Device Manager when I try to turn Apple iPod USB Driver and the small icon in the system tray when you try to eject the drop-down list no longer appears, all these programs themselves just freeze and unresponsive until I unplug the device. In Event Viewer, the moment where I plug it, it gets spammed by looping errors to:

Error: The device, \Device\Harddisk1\DR21, has a bad block.

ATTENTION: An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk1\DR21 during a paging operation.

So, basically, it seems that the computer is blocked just not try to read and recognize the device, which means that I can't really do anything with it. The iPod itself seems to work fine, I can hear songs, recharge the battery and other things, earlier I can't add or remove pieces of her.

    Stuff leading up to it

A year or two before, I used to manage the ipod via itunes (a relatively old version of time too I guess since I almost never update) until I formatted my laptop some time ago and never bored computer reinstall itunes. Since then, I really didn't need to change anything to my iPod and just use Winamp (my default music player) to the add/remove songs when I needed to. Today, I decided to install iTunes because there are some things that winamp cannot do as add embedded lyrics and also winamp blurs the sorted list of the song. Since then, after you have installed the new iTunes, start freezing and program I get the problems described above. There might be a chance that iTunes was not the real culprit and the disc was already beginning to get corrupted or something somehow, but I can't think of anything that's happened before this problem started.

    I tried many things

    • Uninstalled iTunes and all the other stuff related to the installation as pie, Apple Mobile Device Support... .etc
    • Reinstall the device driver USB Apple iPod. When I turn it off (Plug in iPod-> iPod poster 'do not disconnect'-->--> Device Manager driver right click-> disable-> Device Manager freezes up-> unplug ipod-> Device Manager-> thaws plug ipod in) ipod becomes simply the State of charge. Steps to reinstall is the same (need to plug and unplug).
    • Reset iPod in now the Center button + menu button.
    • Will then resetting operation rewind + Centre button iPod diagnostic mode. It is not a test disc hard because I guess nano doesn't have a disc hard just flash ram. Anyway, when I select SDRAM QScan he only says: "SDRAM OK." NAND_SPEC gives "NandLBA = 1982464". Flash gives Checksum "Checksum is 0x26AF".
    • Wanted to try as described here to check for disk errors, but cannot because the computer cannot correctly recognize and explore freezes if I right click. I tried using 'chkdsk f:' in the command prompt, but that seems to hang as well.
    • Switches mode disc reset ipod then now Center + play button. Then connect the laptop... etc, same problem.

It's a pretty old device, so it seems that support because it is very rare. I didn't install iTunes could screw up the device that it is intended to support and do anything as permanent as this one.

You must exclude a faulty USB, cable anchorage, try another, or using your power with another Apple device cable, to confirm that it works correctly.

Otherwise, your troubleshooting seems complete.  If that's what you've done for disc Mode

How to put your iPod in disc - Apple Support mode

and connection to your computer causes this issue General 'freeze' with multiple processes, the iPod has possibly a hardware problem.  Flash storage eventually.  Or it can be a problem on the logic board of the iPod.

I suggest try to reformat the iPod using Windows, as if it were a USB flash drive.  But you can only do if the system hangs when you connect iPod.

NOTE: If you find a way to reformat iPod using Windows, use FAT32 as the disc format.  If there is an option to do a quick format, do a full format instead.  Once the process is complete, the iPod is totally blank.  You do restore using iTunes (if you are prompted or not), to the embedded iPod software.

  • iPod shuffle 2nd generation will not be a link with itunes

I just brought a used ipod shuffle 2nd generation and I can't seem to associate with my itunes account dosnt see toward the top in the list of devices? It binds with laptop and with the car but can't put mt on her music and her full load of expensive! and bon Jovi show!

any advice will be welcome tried alternative lead? Potty

Cheap and good jovi...  That IS indeed a serious problem.    But at least the iPod still plays music, so its battery is OK.

You use the USB cable supplied with 2nd gen iPod?  It is long with a cradle at the end of the shuffle.  The replacement of home cable shuffle Apple sells currently is to shuffle 3rd and 4th generation and does not work with 2nd gen shuffle (connector is different).

There are third party replacement cables, but they must be described as 2nd gen shuffle.  And they tend to be cheap and of poor quality, then this might be the problem here.

If you have the right type of cable, when you connect it to the USB of your computer, look at the little light the shuffle.  Blink initially when it is connected?  It turn on, but remain solid (not flashing)?  There is No light at all when connected?

Also, are you using a Mac or a Windows PC?  If Windows, which free?

  • New Ipod Touch (6th generation)... Brick!

New Ipod Touch (6th generation).  Right out of the box and as expected, another update Super bricks my new Ipod Touch.  My question is HOW?  And before you ask, YES everything has been updated to the latest version (itunes, Java, QuickTime, IE, Windows and other applications you can think of).  I purposely keep a copy of an older version of Itunes on an old laptop running because this is the only version that will recognize my Ipod when happen (both latest and Itunes).  Given zero has no effect.

When say you that the device is brick what is on the screen today? It does not force a reset? Try If your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch does not illuminate, If iTunes does not your iPad, iPhone or iPod , or If you cannot update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
