  You CAN open the file *.wpl with a text editor. You can (or cannot) be successful

  I think the method you mentioned is how you need to do.  In iTunes to sync iPod movies, you configure settings from iPod movies screen (to select the movies you want to synchronize).  Settings of the iPod screen photos is for photos (image files).  Movies do not appear on the screen of the parameters of the iPod movies , unless they are in your library of movies to iTunes.

  The designation "1. 0a"seems to be a version number, and not a model number.  As a general rule, MS wireless keyboards have the numbers of models such as 1000, 3000, 6000, etc..   I think Microsoft "Documentation" for the products of its keyboard and mouse to be pretty pathetic, so even if you had provided the model number, chances are that the documentation would not help a lot.

  Some of the products of Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse have sync buttons and some do not.  See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/838398 for some pictures and tips on the sync'ing of these products.

  Unless sellers are explicitly including transfers of software license, you cannot continue to use the software without eventually getting into trouble. Adobe CS apps can be installed on multiple machines, but they cannot be activated on two. If the 'included' software has already been activated by the previous owner, you won't be able to use it.

  The inclusion of the high-end systems used on applications should be a red flag: avoid sellers.

  If the e-mail account can be configured as IMAP, you can add the account for both devices and they will keep in sync.

  If you want your iPhone to use your iCloud music library (not sync directly to your Mac iTunes music library), you have iCloud music library running on the iPhone?  The setting is in settings-> music-> iCloud music library (ON / OFF switch)
