Synchronization of desktop and folder of Document issues

One of the features of the Sierra that interests me the most is to be able to sync my desktop files and document files, although I have some concerns.

1. what happens on an iOS device it syncs on a file that cannot be opened on this subject? Does it always show?

2. is there a way to exclude certain folders from being synced?

3. If I open a spreadsheet, text file, .doc or Pages it automatically opens in the default program on an iOS device?

Thank you.

2. is there a way to exclude certain folders from being synced?

Do not place them on your desktop or in your documents on your Mac.

I would like a place to work from and synchronize with my laptops and desktop.   It was a challenge that I travel a lot.  There are 2 of us who would use a calendar and tasks, maybe 3.   We want to use Outlook and share contacts and calendar as well.  We do not use Microsoft Windows Live Hotmail or Microsoft Office Live Mail accounts.  Please let know us if your service is suitable for it and what the costs are.  We are looking for the most cost-effective method and checking in MS Exchange server, the costs were astronomical.

  • View 5.0 Desktop and Folder Redirection error

So I just upgraded to 5.0 view and also left the office xp for desktop windows 7 view.  They are running perfectly and there was little, if any, complaints from my users.  However, there is a question that seems to be common among users with linked clone desktops.

Our group strategy has allowed our users to forwarding files and it works with linked clones.  Users can open and view documents in there redirected documents folder.  However, if they attempt to remove the file they are told that they need permission to do so.  For example, if domain\test of the user trying to delete its own document he'll tell him that it requires domain\test or, in other words, permissions to delete the file itself.  I don't know if it has to do with the creation of the profile in the linked clone or what.

I also did some poking around to see if it's windows 7 partners and more said that it is necessary to turn off UAC to solve this problem.  I did, but am always faced with the problem.

    Any ideas on that?

  • All user accounts Windows XPrestricted open all of a sudden 'Map network drive' by clicking on the desktop and the "research" by clicking on any folder

    Hello

you have a problem with my Windows laptop that left me speechless.

I would really appreciate if someone could provide a solution or any ideas where to start fixing this, as I get close to return to the previous backup full system, but reluctant to do so as I have never done it before so I'm worried if it really works as supposed (Macrium and Ping).

    1. description of the problem

All users of Windows XP (SP3) restricted accounts open all of a sudden 'Map network drive' by clicking on the desktop and the "research" by clicking on any folder, including My Documents.

However, all accounts administrator work as before and also user accounts work like so usual, they are included in the Administrators group, with respect to the clicks of the workstation and records.

In addition, the correct icons for 'Drive' and 'Record' are visible when connected as long as administrator but lacking when logged as long as user restricted when you check the file associations by "open the folder and then click on Folder Options in the Tools menu.» Click the registry file types list. »

    2 solution unsuccessful attempts

    2. google and tried the solution to manually change the registry entries from Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321186

    "
Start the editor of the register (Regedt32.exe).
Look for, and then click the default value under the following registry keys if this problem occurs with folders:
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell
If this problem occurs with drives:
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell
Click on edit in the Edit menu.
Type 0 in the value data box, and then click OK.
    Exit the registry editor.
    "

(Fixit associated meanings has also not working for some reason, says that the Windows Installer does not run, don't know if the same problem...)

    2B. and then also tried the fix "regsvr32 /i shell32.dll" at http://blog.chron.com/helpline/2005/10/double-click-opens-search-instead-of-folder/.

After these steps, the registry under "Drive" and "Directory" information are as attaché at the end read somewhere there should be a "find" under lock and key, as I have, but don't know if the subkeys under 'Search' are what causes weird behavior.

If anyone knows and could provide what the values for the registry values must be in a system that works, would be nice to compare to possible problems.

Unsuccessfully, with what precedes, to solve the problem, but noticed through that:

2 c. When you are logged in as administrator, I am able to see and modify the registry keys concerned with regedit, considering that when logged in as a regular user, I get an error that translates roughly as "the key could not be opened [consultation]?.» Error in opening the key. "for"Default icon"and subkeys 'shell' to 'Drive' and some subkeys under"shellex ".

Oddly enough, this is also the case even if I "Run with" regedit as a user belonging to the Administrators group when logged in as a limited user.  Could be the mechanism of Windows registry access.

Noticed that the small group 'Users' did not have access to "Drive". Grant read access, even as the "directory" and other registry keys next to them, for "users".

Now see the values of registry as a limited user, but the problem persists. Do you really know what to try next, after spending hours Googling for answers.

3 computer laptop environment and other factors

    3. don't know if it's related, but perhaps that coincides the time and the possible reason of sage:

I had the problem two days ago described in "account Administor doesn't have access to some files and registry entries" to http://www.experts-exchange.com/OS/Microsoft_Operating_Systems/Windows/XP/Q_27415496.html.

Zone alarm free firewall prevented changing the key of HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microdsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.

Which was fixed as in the article above tweaking of Zonealarm settings so that changes are allowed.

    3. the environment of the laptop:

    Acer Travelmate 8204 laptop

Windows XP SP3 with virtually all updates of installed Microsoft.

Recent issues (related?) with the .NET Framework 4 updates and the repair facility. FixIt against MS to install MS Update and the Application works and reveals no problems, but the settings from-> Panel-> Add or Remove Applications said that it cannot change or delete NET Framework 4.

ZoneAlarm Free Firewall version: 11.0.000.057, prevented possible culprit get earlier access to the registry, uninstall?

Norton Antivirus version recently installed 20.3.1.22, possibly in conflict with ZA or bug?

It seems that I managed to solve the problem on my own. Did two things:

1 set the registry keys determine programs associated objects 'Répertoire', 'Drive' and 'File' to the default values by using the settings found here: http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\

    2. If you want to have permissions for group 'Users' to read all these keys in the registry. For some reason any access worked only partly for standard users.

Not sure who finally solved this problem, but after I had finished 1. and 2. for the purpose of 'Record', by clicking on 'My computer' and any folder works normally for all users of the computer.

I suspect that some recent installation of program which adds actions associated with these objects messed up the registry. Suspects are Norton Antivirus and dbPowerAmp.

Thanks for the suggestions for this problem!

  • How Sierra Desktop and sync Documents?

    Hello

Before moving to Sierra, I would like to be shure that this novelty won't make me lose important documents.

I have two macs with different files on my documents and desktop folders.

How Sierra will synchronize all this?

    e-s-new-desktop-and-documents-access-in-MacOS-Sierra.html http://www.Macworld.com/article/3098804/Data-Center-Cloud/How-to-use-icloud-DRIV

  • How can I copy the folder my documents in my iCloud drive and then I sync the two after that?

How can I copy the folder my documents in my iCloud drive and then I sync the two after that?

You can simply drag in iCloud reader, but I pass and move documents in their files app instead. It will probably take a while to download all documents.

It is not a way to sync without some third party software that synchronizes folders, or learn how to use rsync in the Terminal.

Instead of synchronization, simply use the iCloud drive in the 'Documents' folder after you move the files.

  • Files and folders in root appear in my folder of Documents and office

It probably happens on the Windows NT-based versions (has happened to me on a XP PC and a PC in 2000 that I intend to upgrade both of them soon). The files and folders of the program directory (C :) root Windows upward in the office and the folder My Documents. These files are not shortcuts and they show that they are located in the root of the drive, even if they appear on the desktop and My Documents. They can be handled then that mirrored to the root of the drive. I dropped a simple file to the root one test while it appears on the locations and then I deleted the file of the said test from the office and he left root. They don't seem to do anything when I click on them. It is not happened to me before. Does anyone know how to fix this? Is this a bug?

That is some progress.  Normally the desktop folder works the same way, where he will have a "location" at the top of the Properties tab.  This is a feature you'll see normally special "shell folders" as this (shell being the part of the operating system that see you, or the user interface).

If it has lost its distinctive feature, you can usually restore it quickly in the registry.

    1. First of all, make sure that you have a folder that is named "Desktop" in your personal folder 'username '. You will set the registry to use this folder as storage of office location.
    2. Keep Windows Logo type R to display the run box, type REGEDIT and click OK and give permission to the administrator if necessary.
    3. Navigate through the list of files (registry keys) on the left to find this place:
      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
    4. Look for the "Desktop" entry on the right (registry value), and double-click it to change data to be:
      %UserProfile%\desktop

The %UserProfile% is a variable that is everywhere where your current profile is stored.  Administrators and power users can use it to move their entire profile without having to define all those places individually.

    5. Click OK to save it, and then close the registry editor.
    6. Lot of windows completely and reconnect of re - initialize your user profiles and folder locations. Or just restart your computer, either way :)

At this point, right click and properties of the desktop folder should now have the expected location tab (let me know if not).

If you ever want to move these places, a little advice: make sure that you have specified a folder name.  In other words, do not place your Documents to store in just the G: drive. Instead, create a folder on the target drive and don't forget in the location (such as G:\Docs).  One last thing: don't try to define both 'special' folders to be stored at the same single physical location (do not set two in the same place).

Here is a picture of this registry on Windows 10 location, but these steps are the same, all the way back to Windows 2000 (maybe sooner).

Let me know how it goes, I hope that he gets all cleared up.

  • Error message: cannot create the folder C:\Documents and Settings\Marlon\Local Application BVRP Software\NetWaiting\MoHlog.txt Settings\

I recently had a problem with the virus 'Restore Windows'. I was able to get rid of it with Malwarebytes antivirus scanner, but when I turn on my computer I get this error message.
Cannot create the folder C:\Documents and Settings\ of Settings\Marlon\Local Application BVRP Software\NetWaiting\MoHlog.txt

I'm no expert, but I feel that my C drive disappeared, or at least has been hidden. My documents, pictures and music files are all empty. My programs (start > all programs) have been removed and deleted the shortcuts on the desktop. When I go to my computer, my personal and shared document files are not accessible. Under the description it says that they are hidden. My local disk (c) is also empty, but there is still very little space which suggests that programs and files have not been deleted.
Is it possible to recover my files?
    Thank you

    Hello

MoHlog.txt file is related to the software of modem on the computer, you can uninstall and reinsta it check if it works.

Also scan your computer for any infection by virus still present on the computer using any scanner online.

You can also try the system restore to the point before that the computer has been infected by the virus and check if it helps.

    Good luck!

I went to my documents and I had this issue, and I clicked on something that is called HIDE and I don't know how to get to this file now! Anyone know where are the hidden files?

Go to start / Control Panel / folder Options / view and check the box to show the hidden files and folders and uncheck to hide extensions of known file types.  Only the first is required for this problem, but the other may be useful later and you might as well do it while you're already here.

Now, you will be able to see the folder.  It will be in the same place, it has always been (it has not been assigned) - it was just hidden and now that you can see hidden files and folders you can see again.  You may notice that it deteriorated a little bit lighter that other records - it is a sign that it is a hidden file or folder.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • When iCloud calendars and Contacts synchronize with desktop 2016?

When iCloud calendars and Contacts synchronize with desktop 2016?

I have the same exact question. IM an Apple user. Only Apple hardware. Everything is in iCloud and services from Apple except for all my data located in OneDrive and I use Microsoft Office (office 2016, on and off line) applications. Do not use mail.app, my iCloud mail is sent to my address outlook.com and I get all my email through Outlook applications.

I have a sync going on between my iCloud (family) calendars and contacts so that they will become visible in all applications to use them, Microsoft Office Online on the web and in applications on my devices as well.

From today or yesterday, it appears than iCloud for Windows now supports mail, contacts, calendars and reminders in Outlook 2007 even though 2016. But do I need a PC running Windows with Outlook installed to achieve this synchronization is going? It works if not where can I get the synchronization goes without having to use a Windows PC?

    Hello Tiffy.T,

Thanks for the return of the response.  If this happened recently, I suggest to perform a restore of the system to a point in time before you rename the folder.  Please let us know on this status.

  • Folder my documents opens at startup and log on

Folder my documents is opens at startup and log on how to stop why it behaves?

See if it works (I'm not your configuration): Command Options Panel\Folder.
Select the VIEW tab, uncheck the RESTORE PREVIOUS FOLDER WINDOWS at the CONNECTION.

Here's another option to remove this problem: http://www.technize.com/my-documents-folder-opens-at-windows-startup/.  Make sure that you are in the registry and I would only delete the Documents folder reference rather than all - but it is up to you.  I would like to make a registry backup system and the restore point before starting this procedure to be on the safe side.

    ==================================================================================================================================

Here is another similar option worth a try, if others do not work (same for system restore point and registry backup):

    Click Start > run Regedit > move > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ logiciels\ Microsoft\ Windows NT\ CurrentVersion\ Winlogon

In RHS Panel, change the value of "Userinit" to: C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe

    Now, go to:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ logiciels\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ advanced Explorer\

In RHS Panel, change the value of "PersistBrowsers" to 0

    Reset.

    Click Start > run Regedit > move > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ logiciels\ Microsoft\ Windows NT\ CurrentVersion\ Winlogon

In RHS Panel, change the value of "Userinit" to: C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe

    Now, go to:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ logiciels\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ advanced Explorer\

In RHS Panel, change the value of "PersistBrowsers" to 0

    Reset.

    Click Start > run Regedit > move > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ logiciels\ Microsoft\ Windows NT\ CurrentVersion\ Winlogon

In RHS Panel, change the value of "Userinit" to: C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe

    Now, go to:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ logiciels\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ advanced Explorer\

In RHS Panel, change the value of "PersistBrowsers" to 0

    Reset.

    Click Start > run Regedit > move > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ logiciels\ Microsoft\ Windows NT\ CurrentVersion\ Winlogon

If this does not work, go tohttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx and run Autoruns and click all.  You are looking for something, with the documents folder, and when you find it, uncheck the box to prevent it from starting at startup (it probably isn't there because it uses a different process to open it, but it's worth a try since different processes was the one before this one and if you are here it means that you did not).  Check the entire list as there may be several entries.  When you're done, click OK and restart.  The file should no longer start.  If by chance you find explorer.exe listed there, then try disabling that and see what happens.  This can cause a lot of problems, so be ready to CTRL-ALT-DEL and file run Explorer.exe to restart the program and then go back and check the box - it sure is not the solution.

If this does not work, try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  If the problem goes away then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem.   Follow the procedures described in the article.  Once found, remove, delete, disable or uninstall.  Once remember to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

In RHS Panel, change the value of "Userinit" to: C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe

    Now, go to:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ logiciels\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ advanced Explorer\

In RHS Panel, change the value of "PersistBrowsers" to 0

    Reset

  • Invisible - Missing FOLDER - C:\Documents and Settings (not will appear in Explorer) in Windows 7

Re: Invisible - missing FOLDER - C:\Documents and Settings (not will appear in Explorer) in Windows 7

    Hi all

I have a stable working version of Windows 7 Pro.  (Yes sfc/scannow and chkdsk are 100%)  BUT here's my question and the problem...

Recently, all of a sudden - my file C:\Documents and settings folder (and of course all of the many folders and files it contains) is no longer present in the computer of Windows / Explorer.

Yes - I removed the skin system files in folder options (I'm relatively warned these basic commands) and all my other system hidden files appear perfectly.

Moreover, I KNOW that this directory and the files are still there on the drive, and Yes, they are immediately, when I use the command line (back of the old black box window) in administrator mode.

Once again all the folders and files in C:\documents and settings are always there (using the cd and dir/p orders) when you use the editor command line (cmd).

I even tried to change the parameters of security using Icacls and delivered successfully as Administrators security settings: F and system: F but nothing appears in the Explorer.

I also tried to change the command attrib to this directory with my very basic command-line skills.

The computer still works fine - as many of you probably know the C:\documents and settings folder is really an older and former OS directory now used for programs inherited, replaced by C:\Users... etc.

But why have - so MS put in the OS. There are of course good reasons so - I want show back again.

I tried a system restore but I only got one and it can also have been corrupted since it took me a day or two to notice.

In summary, when a directory and files 'all of a sudden disappear completely' use widely and all days 'window of windows Explorer normal 7' you know that something is badly broken in the operating system.

BTW - Yes all Windows 7 updates made and successful... (no easy feat)

Any ideas out there your technical assistants.

    Thanks in advance
    James 4621

They do, but I do not really recommend yet.  But I at least trust him more than any 3rd party.  It is not a download if it is an online as part of the Windows Live Safety Scanner scanner.

And as I went to look for a link, it seems that safety.live.com now re - headed the new scanner, which is a download :)
I don't think that this news has a record cleaning component.  But as I said, is never necessary.  The invalid entries in the registry do slow down your startup time, or cause any problem, unless of course, you get an error message because another program tried to use an entry invalid.  But automated scanners are much too aggressive.  He thinks that an entry is not used, doesn't mean some program, somewhere, some time want.
