  I was shocked to find recently that I had a library of 700 GB large. There is not a lot of things in there - some go pro files and some images of the iPhone-shot.

  I felt that I didn't need the master files I had transcoded everything and would be output using those so I decided to trash the master files that I felt the culprit to the library so bib.

  I did it with success and always the library file size has not changed.

  OMG! Unless you can put back master files, what you did was lost. You can't trash the master files. What is likely to take more space is the transcoded media and make files. Do not transcode, don't make unless you have to.

  IF you can't deliver the master files. Remove the files transcoded into the library and reimport to let up and start using.

  IF you can put the masters return, do so and then go to the menu file in the trash your generated files.

• Two Macbook Air sharing a photo library on time Capsule

  I'm trying to set up my 2 TB time capsule to store my photo library and library iTunes music.  My wife and I have a 120 GB 13 "Macbook Air running OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.12 and backup via Wifi to the time capsule.  I want to be able to view, download, download and manage the library both of our computers and so that to use on our iTunes music library.  We have separated Apple ID as well, but we are bound by family.  We take most of our photos with our iPhones (5 and 6 respectively).  Our library is ~ 100 GB and our library of music is about the same size.  It is currently stored on a 500 GB external hard drive that is connected to a Windows PC that we no longer use.  I have several questions on how to achieve this:

  1. Is this possible?

  3. Music albums and photos are available when not on our network?
  4. If I open the Capsule in the Finder and open the data file, can I create a file of data next to our backup files server and put all the data?

  Laughing out loud. at least not without great risk to your photo library. What kind of photo software is... that you are hosting it now on windows?

  iTunes isn't so bad but photos is designed by apple to be shared via the cloud. Not on the local network.

  If you are referring to push notifications on your desktop, you most likely have Facebook as an internet account on your MacBook. You can withdraw from your account, or disable notifications for it.

  Open system preferences > Internet accounts

  Select Facebook

  Uncheck the Notifications tab to disable the notifications or click on the "-" button to remove the account
