  Currently, we use Windows Time service for time synchronization, but are trying to get away from that and use VMware tools time synchronization function. We strive to set up and use NTP on the hosts (which are ESX 3.5 Update2). Anyone can guide me please the documentation that would be the process to do so.

What I have to use this or has anyone used successfully the feature "Time Configuration" in the CR to synchronize time? What would be the route recommended two methods?

  Here are some notes I made while putting my systems.

  Configure NTP on ESX host

  Use the Console of the VIC

  It works on ESX 3.5 (not on ESX 3.02, those need modified .conf)

  First, select the check box for the configuration of the client:

  Appointment VI client under the Configuration-> Configuration of time tab, click the properties link, check the box 'NTP Client activated' under the NTP Configuration section, click on the Options button and select start and stop with the host in the general section.

  Then:

  1. Select the Configuration tab, and then in the software pane choose time

  Configuration

  2. click on properties... option on the right side of the VI Client

  3. in the Configuration at the time of the dialog box, select the Options... button

  4. in the dialog box options (noted) NTP server, select general and then click the Start button

  5. in the dialog box options (noted) NTP server choose Add

  6. Enter the IP addresses or domain services FULL name NTP with that you want to synchronize

  Interesting. I went just manually the phone 2 g (because I was doing a long call in a 3G area low and I didn't want to cut out), and when I turned it to 3G and 2G was back at the time of the network.

I want to implement my simulation (as an attachment) to the real target (cRIO-9024 OR cRIO-9112). I removed the transfer function of the process, I broke the line and I added my input/output of the cRIO modules. I put a 1ms, Euler ode solver step size and synchronize the time loop. Unfortunately it does not work properly. The loop decreased the speed a lot and I can't get 1 ms response time and, finally, a good answer for my system. This means that I can not 1ms response for loop? What is the problem of the computer, windows or hardware real-time or software? Simple or I did something wrong? All the advice you will enjoy.

  I still find myself make too many assumptions.
  First of all, I guess your derivative of clock occurs during the time when the computer is running and not during the period where it is off (or immediately early)?
  Second, I'm assuming that when you run the command "w32tm/Resync" above, the clock made it back to the correct time and no errors were reported?
  Third, you say that your clock drift 5 minutes or more, but you do not tell us how long this gain occurs.  It is two times more win if you wait twice as long to check?  Is the gain gradual or sudden?  Keep he wins or if he stops wins once it arrives before?

  Conditions of default for a computer connected non-member of the field, the time will be updated network-time only at the start and then once a week.  If you are winning too much too quickly, you can adjust how many times your computer asks for time.  Computers in the domain must be more precise and one every hour for a default time synchronization.  You can set your W32tm to that of a computer in the domain to resynchronize your computer more often (SpecialPollInterval).  Here are two articles that describe the clock settings:

  Right click on the clock.

  Select adjust date and time.

  Then select change time zone.

The default value is "Weekly -" every Sunday at 01:00 Emphasise that, then click on the button 'modify' at the bottom of this pane. Will open a new window titled "change the shutter."
