  VM tools are retro-compatible, so it should work. I recommend however, as you will introduce a manual process you need to manage and I did not belive you will have any advantage by doing so. the complexity more you add, the greater the risk of things go wrong.

  I however would patch the hosts to the latest version and using the tools provided with this version.

  You could try renaming or deleting your OPM registry.xml.

  Where is your windows user name.

  In Windows XP:

  InDesign files are created from Windows-InDesignServer via a Plugin for automation.

  All clients work with a Mac. When they want to open a file, the plugin copy the file from the network drive to a local folder and opens the copy.

  But in this way, all the links to the images get lost.

  For example:

  Windows - link of the original file:

  \\myNetworkDrive\Data\Brands\alfa.AI

  Mac - path that is displayed in the indesign palette:

  /myNetworkDrive/data/brands/Alfa.AI

  HD:myNetworkDrive: Data: Brands:alfa.ai Macintosh

  The interesting thing is, if I open the file on the network drive, InDesign on Mac is able to find the links via the Windows paths.

  Create a symbolic link in the root directory did the trick:

  CD /.

  mkdir myNetworkDrive

  ln-s/Volumes/Data/myNetworkDrive

  In this way, the NetworkDrive is accessible as if it were on Windows:

  Establishment of a local does not create the folder. But if you set the location (and the name of the file) then create the folder ESXi will start writing to the location immediately - restart is no necessary. I also found that the/vmfs/volumes /... format does not seem to work - I use /logs/host1.log [datastore1].

  Despite its name, Studio MX 2004 was released in 2003. Thus, it is difficult to remember the details of six years on. From what I can remember, however, the only difference between the trial version and the retail version is that the trial was limited in time to 30 days.   I recently got a new laptop (Lenovo X 250 Windows 7) and I'm working through the implementation. I downloaded the latest version of iTunes... went in the preferences... selected the former library on my external drive folder... nothing. iTunes don't even see.

  After some research on these forums, I followed plan, hold the SHIFT key while opening iTunes to force it to create a new library on the hard disk external. I did it. Then, as indicated, I moved all my media in the newly created iTunes Media folder. Progress! iTunes can now 'see' the library... but all the content is marked with the meaning of the cloud logo I need to download it. So, if I do not have wifi... I can't play any content, even if it is attached everything locally.

  I did a test and click download on a song. The result was iTunes there duplication in my local library by adding a '1' after the title of the song. I checked all the multimedia files are indeed still on the local disk - they are not lost.
