System repair fron start CD requires the administrator password.

Have many problems (right click, explore crashes, slow response) various virus scans find nothing.

System Restore does not work (tried 5 more than 6 weeks old Restore Points)

I tried the repair from the CD, but the CD is WP SP2 so that it refuses to repair XP SP3.

I boot from the CD and it askes that push to start from so I select the CD D:

Then there an administrator password.

If I just hit ENTER it does not accept that.

The only place that I can't imagine asking an administrator password is in the recovery console, but this isn't where you want to be if you try to reinstall Windows from scratch.

If you don't mind destroying all data on the disk, you can follow the instructions here: http://www.icompute.info/restore_with_B_PE_disk.htm

Virus cannot write in the BIOS so I wouldn't worry about it, and you're right that may not be on the CD, and I highly doubt that you would have one on your hard drive, either--so no need to panic :)

I hope that the above link will be of some use :)

I hope this helps! Please vote or mark as correct answer if it doesn't :)

  • Fusion Pro 8 still requires the administrator password to log raw physical disks at startup

I'm 10.11.3 El Capitan server running in an instance of VM Fusion 8 running on a 10.11.3 host El Capitan.

For performance reasons, I connect Raw / partitions of physical disk using the links generated with the vmware-rawdiskCreator command line tool and added to the .vmx file.

My question is, since it is a server, I want it to load VMWare Fusion and start the virtual machine automatically at startup, but each time the virtual machine is started, a message appears stating "VMware Fusion requires administrator privileges to access Boot Camp disks.  Type your password for this purpose".

Some research that it used to be far to say merge to "never ask" passwords, but this feature doesn't seem to be an option of Fusion Pro 8.

Is there a work around to bypass the manual password entry requirement?

OK, I found an answer to my own question...

Although it doesn't seem to be an option to disable the prompt of the graphical interface of Fusion Pro 8, there IS one on the command line.

First, find the UID of the user account that you launch VMware Fusion with the help of.

    ID

(Often this will be 501 as the UID of the first user created on any mac).

    Then run...

  • I forgot the administrator password & can not reset in!

    • I changed the administrator password last week and now I forgot what it was. I can't access or change the password, or reinstall windows. It asks password each time. I do not have a password reset disk.
    • Another user is available

You can change your password to something that you remember another administrative user account. If you had only an administrative user account and you have forgotten the password, all is not lost. You can then follow the general recommendations for implementing user accounts in Vista that I will give you at the end of this post.

All this requires a certain level of computer skills. You know better and that take the machine to a competent local computer tech (not a type of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad place) is the best solution for you.

If you have an installation of Vista DVD (not a recovery DVDs), you can start the system with it. Select the default language, then select "repair your computer". Then select "Command Prompt". At the command prompt, type:

NET user administrator / Active: Yes [press Enter]
NET user [insert here the name of your user account] [insert the new password of user as 1234 here] [press Enter]

[Note: do not enter the brackets!]

Remove the installation DVD and restart the computer. Now, you will be able to connect to your user account by using the password that you set; for example, 1234.

If you do not have a Vista installation DVD (only have a recovery disk), the computer mftr. may have given you the option to repair Vista (not a system recovery!) system in the diagnostic menu. This menu of diagnosis is the same one where you can choose Safe Mode. Get to this menu by repeatedly pressing the F8 key as the computer starts. If you do not have this option, you can make a bootable Vista file repair DVD in this link:

    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

Note: All the Neosmart recovery disk downloads are torrent files. There is a good explanation of the torrent on the site Web of Neosmart files. You will need a torrent as muTorrent client to get the files. Torrent client will download the .iso file with which to create the bootable DVD. You will need to use third-party burning software such as Nero, Roxio or the free ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com ) to burn the image .iso image file, not in the form of data.

Once you have fixed things, log on to the additional administrative account you will be made by the suggestions below and disable the administrator account integrated yet for security reasons:

Start Orb > Search box > type: cmd
When cmd appears in the above results, right-click and choose "Run as Administrator" [OK]. Now, you will get the command prompt. At the command prompt, type:

NET user administrator / active: No. [Enter]

    Exit the command prompt.

General recommendations for creating users in Vista:

You absolutely don't want to have only one user account. As XP and all the other modern operating systems, Vista is a multi-user system with integrated system of accounts as default Administrator and comments. These accounts should be left alone because they are part of the structure of the operating system.

In particular, you do not want one account user with administrative privileges on Vista because the administrator account integrated (normally only used in emergencies) is disabled by default. If you use as an administrator for your daily work, and this account is corrupt, things will be difficult.  It is not impossible to activate the built-in administrator to rescue things, but there may be more that you want to do. Better not to put you in a bad situation at first.

The user account that is for your daily work must be a Standard user, with the extra administrative user (call it something like 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or similar) only it for elevation purposes. As a user Standard is recommended for security reasons and will help protect your computer against infections. After you have created "CompAdmin", connect to it and change your normal user account Standard. Then log on to your regular account.

If you want to go directly to the desktop and ignore the Welcome screen with the icons of the user accounts, you can do this:

Start Orb > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null). MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • Impossible to enter the ADMINISTRATOR password

I am new to Windows 7 and have encountered a problem/bug.  I used the command NET USER ADMINISTRATOR / active: Yes to access the default administrator.  I have reset the password and then used the / ACTIVE: No. NET USER ADMINISTRATOR to hide the default administrator.  The single user install now is a user standard non-passworded.  When I perform a task that requires an ADMINISTRATOR password, I have a box that says "to continue, type an administrator password and then click YES.  Where to type the password?  No dialog box is displayed for the password and if I just type the button YES does not become active

By disabling the only administrator account you you actually yourself painted into a corner. Rather than have no such account, you must have two: one for occasional use, an emergency. You should do that now:

    1. Start the computer with your CD to repair Windows in Repair Mode and perform a system restore to undo your previous actions.
    2. Create and test two admin accounts.
    3. Register their details on paper.
    4. Disable the administrator account.

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

Dell is press F8 at startup.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • I need to change the administrator password

My husband was the administrator of our computer and he died in June.  I don't know what it is.  I never needed to know because he took care of everything.  How to change or find out what it is.  The system restore disk will do it

    Hello

The system restore disk will not help you find the password. Unfortunately, you cannot change the password without knowing the administrator password. If you have another
account administrator on the computer, then you can log in to that account and change the password from there. Since you have a restore disc, you can reinstall Windows and
    start all over again.

  • I forgot the administrator password on my netbook windows 7 son´s

I forgot the administrator password on my netbook windows 7 son´s. I can connect as long as him, but parental control is set so that it can not download anything without my password. I tried using Ophcrack, but it does not support windows 7. Does anyone have a suggestion?

    Thank you
    Emma

Here are the usual methods to solve this problem:

    • Restart the computer with your CD to repair Windows, then use system restore to set Windows in a few days (only works if the problem occurred recently).
    • Logging in as a different admin account and then reset the password for your existing account (works only if create you an alternative admin account).
    • Log in as administrator mode without failure, then reset the password for your existing account (works only if you have activated the account administrator and know its password).
    • Insert your flash drive USB with the password key file (only works if you have created such a keyfile).
    • Check your paper files (works only if you threw down the password somewhere)

Note also that you can lead to permanent damage to your registry files when you use crackers from third past.

If you do not have a CD player, then you must burn a repair flash bootable disc. Here's how to make one:

  • I have a problem with the connection to the computer by using the administrator password.

Original title: RESET MY ADMINISTRATIVE PASSWORD!

I read a LOT of reviews Q & A on this website that attempt to explain how to change a password administration windows 7, but none have helped. I wanted to put parental controls on my account initially in order to avoid the display of some sites on my browser. Of course, I didn't understand that this control is defined in the internet options. In my ignorance, I went for the parental controls in Control Panel but found that I couldn't put parental controls on my account because it was the only account and, therefore, the administrator. To set up parental controls, I created a new account. Later, I changed the settings of the account on both accounts. I changed the new administrator account and changed the original account (use the Everyone account) to a standard user. Therefore, I have contiunued to try to put in place controls, but I was interrupted by a completely random computer restart! I DID NOT HAVE IT! I was pretty confused, but I decided that I would forget the reboot and connect to my new administrator account to continue with the configuration of the parental control. Do not forget that I have not set a password for this new account yet, so I wasn't surprised when he asked for a new password. So I typed in my old password from my previous account, (who had been the administrator password), typed the password twice and you press on enter. He said it was the wrong password. I typed in every password I've ever had in and since then I have not had administrative access to my own computer. I tried to access the cmd and as an administrator, but it NEED THE ADMINISTRATOR PASSWORD! PLEASE HELP ME!

    Here you go:

    1. keep tapping F8 during the first phase of startup.
    2. select Repair from the menu.
    3. Select an administrator account, and then enter its password.
    4. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
    5. set Windows to a point before changed your account details.
    6. plan in advance and create, test and document a spare, even admin account that you have a spare House key. Have a single administrator account is taking a huge risk.
