System to check on the Satellite 5000-104

How can I check the weather my system has major problems?

Hi Gary,.

This is a very general question, and to be perfectly honest, I'm not entirely sure how best to answer! What kind of problems did you have in mind? As a general rule, things like viruses and spyware are the best checked for the specific use antivirus and anti-spyware.

With regard to the problems of the 'broad' system (for example, the graphics card does not properly or a printer is not properly installed), you can get a quick overview of the Control Panel, open 'System' and select the Hardware tab, and then click the Device Manager button.

This will open a list of ish about things like hard drives, usb ports, screens, etc.. Don't worry too much to understand all the items on the list, some of the features of the system are a bit obscure! Whatever this is not enabled (so the system is not even attempt to use) will have a small red 'x' beside him, whatever it is a problem a little yellow aura "warning triangle" beside him.

For the most part, bugs or defects in the oprating system only show when a specific part of the code attempts to run, and it would be near-on impossible to write a program that can effectively test for all possible combinatins everything, so its best to deal with what you encounter.

I hope this helps, if you have specific problems, post away on the forums and we'll see what we can do to help!

  • How to connect my Satellite 5000-104 to a TV?

Hi, I hope someone can help. I have an old Toshiba S5000-104 which works perfectly. However, I wanted to plug into a TV screen and there is a handset very strange video-out/line connector (not a standard composite or s-video) and I do not know the type of cable that would be required for the connection. If anyone knows, your help would be very appreciated!

    Thank you

    Hello

Hmm, as I m not wrong not the Satellite 5000-104 has been equipped with a video 15-pin VGA and TV output port composite video jack with stereo audio 3.5.

VGA video port can be used to connect the external monitor and the composite output TV connect to TV to the laptop.

I think you should Google for composite 3.5 mm cable and I sure that you will find a compatible m.

  • Upgrade the speed on the Satellite A50-104 notebook wireless

I have a portable Satellite A50-104. I've recently updated my router wireless to a version of 802.11 g 125 MB, but I can't get the wireless in the notebook card faster than 54Mb. The speed can be increased on this laptop to match the router? If so, how? Thank you

    Hello

You can not force the WiFi card to run faster. This is a technical limitation. Only solution is to buy the new WiFi card. Check the specs on the maximum speed.

  • Upgrade memory on the Satellite A50-104

I NEED TO FIND AN UPGRADE MEMORY 512 MB FOR MY A50/104 SOMEONE DON'T GOOD PAIR TO BUY, I WAS TOLD EBAY 512 DDR SODIMM IS THIS RIGHT. ALSO HOW CAN I CHECK ON MY LAPTOP FOR THESE DETAILS ARE THERE ALL AND ANY OTHER SPEC BATTERY, DRIVE HARD ETC

    Hello

There are several ways to know which module memory is compatible and supported.
You can use a diagnosis too like Everest, you check the user's manual or from Toshiba Web site for details or you will contact the service in your country for support modules.

I'll try to answer the question: the Satellite A50 should support PC2700 DDR - RAM as the following:
    PC2700 256 MB (PA3311U - 1 M 25)
    PC2700 512 MB (PA3312U - 1 M 51)
    1024MO PC2700 (PA3313U-1M1G)

Now it s your choice. You can also google for offers
By the way: visit the Toshiba site Options & accessories. You will find compatible parts

  • How can I check if the Satellite Pro A300-1 GR drivers are up to date

    Hello!
How can I check easily at any time if the drivers of my Satellite Pro A300 - GR 1 are updated? I already thank you for your support.

    Hello

On the Toshiba driver European page you will always find the number pilot s versions and you can compare it with the s version of the driver installed on your laptop.

In addition the [Toshiba Tempro | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/generic/TEMPO_RELEASE/] application keep you abreast of software updates and the latest Toshiba driver as soon as they come out on the European driver Toshiba page.

But just a hint; If your laptop works without problem, then I would not change anything in the operating system. I'm always that notice; never change a running system ;)

  • Recovery system or updated on the Satellite A500 - 13 c

Hello I have a problem with my laptop.

I have Toshiba Satellite A500 - 13 c with installed VIsta x 64 system, but my hard drive is broken (repair is uneconomic), so I bought the new HARD disk drive, and I have my question there.

My HARD drive is broken so I didn't drive instalation for my Windows Vista, I have a label with the number Vista system, can I install this system with the other disc DVD with Windows Vista on my laptop?

Or maybe there is a possibility to update my version of Windows Vista to Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, if this is possible without my original Windows Vista installed on my laptop?

Can I update Windows with only the laptop product key?

    > My HARD drive is broken so I didn't drive instalation for my Windows Vista, I have a label with the number Vista system, can I install this system with the other disc DVD with Windows Vista on my laptop?
No, I don't think that this serial key will operate under different Vista installation disc.
He touches s OEM and belongs to the system which is part of the image of Toshiba and usually it will not work with external MS. installation disc

But you can order a recovery disc (if it s not discontinued) which might help you to install the Toshiba on this laptop Satellite A500 image.

The recovery disc can be ordered from Arvato:

  • Open the cover satellite 5000?

I tried to open my lap top to get out the dvd drive, but I can't get the cover off. for me, it seems that there are still 4 screws left but does not unscrew. I thought u could just remove the dvd drive. If it screws or do I have to pull harder (I don't want anything of the things up.

    Hello

Sorry I have to say that the DVD to the Satellite 5000 series drive is fixed mounted!

As far as I know no disassembly of the plans are available on the net!

Only one Service Toshiba partner has access to the plans!

You can try to open it, but at your own risk!
There is a high risk to damage the laptop, i.e. wrong screw in ca to cover damage to the motherboard or the cover!

  • Drivers Yamaha AC - XG disabled after upgrading XP on 5000-104

After update to the last version of Win XP Home Editionon my Satellite 5000-104, Windows disables the Yamaha AC - XG WDM sound card drivers because they cause to become unstable. I deleted the drivers on my machine and tried to download the latest drivers from the Toshiba Site 05/01. Download, they fail to install. I guess that there must be the most recent? All the patches?

    Hello

I found two drivers on the Toshiba site. A 20.11.01 (5.12.01.3141) and another of 14.01.05 (6.13.10.2152). You must use the most recent driver one.
As far as I know it of only necessary to launch the setup.exe file. But if it doesn't work you can try another method of installation.
Go to the Device Manager and then Sound, video controller, and games. It is a right click on the Audio Codecs and update the driver. The source of the driver is the download location.

  • WLAN is disconnected and I have to restart the Satellite A205

I've had this * Toshiba Satellite A205 Intel Core 2 Duo T5300 32 Bit Vista Home Premium computer laptop * for almost 3 years and at least once and sometimes twice a day, I have to restart find my internet connection.

It stops just for no apparent reason. I no longer receive e-mails via Outlook and get an error page in my browser window. It is extremely frustrating because I work from home. I have Wildblue satellite internet and have had since I bought this laptop.

I also have a desktop XP computer that accesses to the * Wildblue satellite internet * with no issues at all. This leads me to think that there is a problem with Vista and internet Satellite work together.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can resolve this once and for all? I really do not have to restart my computer on a daily basis or will not be disturbed while he was working on something.

Thank you so much in advance.

    Lynne

    Hello

If I understand correctly you message the laptop worked for troubled 3years free and Wlan issue has developed now is it right?
Have you thought about software? I mean the fact that the operating system has not been reinstalled long and that a confused OS could cause these issues?

But before you to reinstall all the system I would recommend checking if an update of the WLan driver would help. In addition, you should check if you are using the latest version of the BIOS.
While this updates will not help, reinstall (update player WLan after relocation) operating system and check if the problem still persists.

    Good luck

  • Graphics required for Satellite M60-104 driver

    Hello

My request relates to the Satellite M60-104.
I need to install the latest driver for the video graphics card but am unable to locate it. Can someone point me in the right direction please?
I looked at the section Download Files, provided all the information in the drop-down menu, but every time I type driver VGA in the search box, all I get is a message saying that there is no results matching my criteria.

Vista driver, you can find it here , and for all versions of Windows, you can find it here

But, if the driver does not work or not found, use Lavalys EVEREST Ultimate Edition

The Trial Version should be OK.

  • System File Checker detects files from oembios that cannot be repaired

I ran the System File Checker on my computer Dell Dimension, and he found files that cannot be repaired: oembios.dat, oembios.sig and oembios.bin. The computer has Windows XP with Service Pack 3 installed and was purchased new in December 2002. The original XP installation disk that I've ever used, a SP1 is installed.

Event Viewer gave this message for one of these files after run the System File Checker. "The oembios.sig of file protected system could not be restored to its original, valid version. "The file version of the bad file is 0.0.0.1 the specific error code is 0x800b0100 [no signature was present in the subject.]."

Everything works well, and these corrupted files seem to have no effect on the operation of the computer. I even ran a Seagate hard drive diagnostic test, and it passed. These files, compressed copies that are in c:\i386 and on the installation disc, be repaired and properly placed in their place in c:\Windows\System32?

Thank you, Robert. I tried your suggested solutions.

First, I tried expanding oembios.si_ of the CD on the e drive (CD player) after the reboot. But I got this message from the command prompt: "cannot open the input e:oembios.si_ file."

Second, I tried to develop oembios.si_ of the c drive, where I know it exists in c:\i386. Yet once again, I got the same message that the input file cannot be opened.

This has proved to be a sticky problem. Fortunately, my computer still works well. It is just that I do not have corrupt files hidden.

  • With no CD/DVD System File Checker

I have an Asus Eee 901 Win XP family.  The netbook lacks a CD/DVD drive.  How can I run the System File Checker when he asks I insert the Windows XP SP3 CD?  Is it possible to have the System File Checker displays the name of the file it wants to repair/replace?

    Hi DonMay,

You have the installation files to your hard drive? Folder i386?

You need to change the path to the registry click Start-> Run & Type-> regedit-> ok-> navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\-> double click-> SourcePath-> enter the location of the reader.

    Also check-> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion-> SourcePath.

If the I386 directory is at C:\I386, the SourcePath value is C:\

or if the I386 directory is at C:\Win\I386, the SourcePath value is C:\Win.

    I hope this helps.

  • Satellite L10-104 - the upgrade of CPU and RAM

    Hello

does anyone have a Toshiba Satellite L10-104 with more than 1 GB of RAM installed? I'm one of these laptops for upgrade and reinstall the operating system and other software. Toshiba says that it only supports 1 GB (2 x 512 MB) of RAM but Intel says techdocs this Notebpook (i855GM) chipset will support 2 GB RAM Max.

The other question is, is the CPUupgradeable? The laptop has more no guarantee and I am an experienced user and I see no problem to install a new processor in a laptop.

    Thank you

    StefanV3

    Hello

    > someone at - it a Toshiba Satellite L10-104 with more than 1 GB of ram installed? I had one of the theses Npotebooks for upgrade and reinstall the operating system and other software.
    > Toshiba said that it supports only 1 GB (2 x 512 MB) ram Intel techdocs said that this Notebpook (i855GM) chipset will support max 2 GB of ram.

According to the specifications of l 10:

    standard: 256 MB
    maximum extension: 1 024 MB
    technology: DDR RAM

So, I don't think that it can support up to 2 Gb

    > So the other question is, is the scalable processor?

  • Satellite M60-104 - vertical lines on the LCD

    Hello guys,.

I have a Toshiba Satellite M60-104 and in recent months, I noticed vertical lines on the LCD screen. How can I solve the problem?

    Any response will be useful,

    thanx

    Hello

First of all, you should check if you have the same problem on an external monitor. So you can check if the problem is the graphics card or screen.

However, I think that the motherboard or display needs to be replaced. To do this, you can go to an authorized service provider.

    Welcome them

  • Re: Satellite U400: operating system not found then the installation of the OS

I have a toshiba satellite u400 with is come with VISTA.

Because I don't like VISTA, I then installed WINDOWS XP with a multi boot.

Everything worked well. But one day I want to resize my partitions I used Paragon partition manager.
This product is required to operate only to resize my xp partition, so he asks me a start.

    And then nothing works.

I try to fix my problem with a fresh install, but it seems that the boot sector was not correct.
Then I completely format my hard disk on another computer with a USB CABLE.

When I try to install VISTA, XP or LINUX on a CD or DVD, I ask the multiboot with F12
I chose to boot from the CD/DVD built-in, but I get only "OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND',

It's as if the BIOS test the HARD to FIND something specific, and it does not find.
When my PC worked correctly I could boot from the drive to dvd without problem.

I called the SUPPORT CENTER of about 10 days, but I have no answer.

So if someone could help me.

    Thank you.

    Hello

OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND message appears generally if the laptop has attempted to boot from the HARD drive and didn t find the operating system.

But I put t understand why you formatted the HARD drive using the USB cable?

Please insert HARD drive in the Bay of laptops HARD drive and check if the HARD drive is recognized in the BIOS!
If the HARD drive has been recognised so I recommend you to take a disk Win XP Home and at the start of this disc.

As I m not wrong not you will need to first install the SATA drivers to recognize the HARD drive.
The fact is that the laptop supports the SATA controller and SATA drivers are needed to get the HARD drive recognized by Win XP.

Well, after you have booted from the Win XP disc you need to format the new HDD by using the NTFS file format and should then follow with the installation of the OS.

    Check it out
