Systems build and update utility - rejects MS Action Pack OS disc

Implemented a T105 out of the box with the tools management systems & Documentation DVD was great until it asked me to insert the disc of the operating system. I chose Windows Server 2008 Standard x 64 earlier in the wizard and inserted a DVD of the BONES of this type since a MS Partners - Action Pack set of disks. However he was rejected repeatedly by the Systems Build and Update Utility as "invalid disc".

Anyone have ideas why this is the case? How can I advance?

The DVD of the BONE in question has the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Server 2008 Standard on it - this could be the reason why somehow?

Thanks in advance for any help / lights!

  • Systems build and update utility - really necessary?

    Background

    -----------

I have some new PowerEdge 2950 s I want to configure with WS 2003 R2 SP2. I just went through the process of installing the Dell way. I was surprised to see that the procedure goes just before and installs the operating system on a FAT32 partition that is huge (I did drag the slider all the way to the right.) and then convert it to NTFS. So, I end up with clusters of 512 bytes. Are they laughing at me?

    Questions

    ----------

    1. is there a way for me to get the utility to create a partition NTFS nice, great in the first place install who?

    2. If your answer to #1 is that I can just stick the WS2003 R2 SP2 disk in the drive and create partitions of how I want to that they in this way, so is it really no reason for me to use the Dell utility in the first place?

I've been administration a number of servers Dell OEM installed with WS2000 and WS2003 on them for a while. I installed an OS on one of these servers, a PE2550. I just use the OS install for this disc. And I have no lack of having the Dell OpenManage and other utilities on this system.

Someone, please point me to some impartial (not market-speak), please information on the Dell software. Is it really a big advantage for me to have on these systems?

  • Why I repeatedly get a security update for Windows Vista for systems (KB2676562) and update for Windows Vista (KB2679255) focused on the x 64 even after that both have been installed successfully?

update of security (KB2676562) has already been correctly installed 21 times, began towards the end of May.  Update for Windows Vista (KB2679255) was successfully installed 35 times, he began in mid-April.  These two continue to update themselves every day and do it at least twice a day, back to back.  It is very frustrating to have to deal with that and makes me think that something may be a problem with my computer.  I had heard of registry cleaners is not not a good thing to use, if recently I not unhooked my registry free cleaner.  I hope that it has not caused my computer to lose any registry key values.  Does anyone know a possible solution or what I need to do? I thank everybody help, please!

  • Issue of Windows 7 SP1 OEM System Builder Pack

I recently bought the Pack Windows 7 SP1 OEM System Builder and I don't know if I bought the right product. I had to replace my HARD drive (old one crashed) and I felt it was time to leave the world of XP. It will be installed on an existing computer that does not have to be sold. I don't want to open the software until I'm 100% sure. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

There's nothing wrong with using it, just that there are certain restrictions that apply. In view of this manufacturer of OEM licenses system will soon become only detail existing once stock option full version licenses have been exhausted, I'd say don't worry about this.

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

    What is OEM software? :
    http://support.Microsoft.com/GP/oemsupport_1/en-GB

    Licensing FAQ:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/OEM/en/licensing/sblicensing/pages/licensing_faq.aspx

The main advantage with the retail license is the clause that allows the easy between future materials transfer if that's the case, but I wouldn't worry too much on this subject.

Since you have replaced the drive, it would have been a clean install anyway, even if Windows XP was still in use on the system.

If you are not comfortable with it, you can always go back and buy the full commercial license:

Where can I still get Windows 7?

Full version - Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium

Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate - full version

Full version - Microsoft Windows 7 Professional

  • I replaced my Windows 7 64-bit system drive and now I have the "Not genuine" message after an update failed

I have a Windows 7 64-bit system I bought a provider on the local computer for a long time with Windows installed.

I replaced my hard drives of 500 GB (mirrored RAID configuration) system with hard drives of 1 TB.

After replacing the readers, I also installed a set of Windows updates. We update failed. After you restart the computer, I ran Windows update again. It seemed that all upgrades completed.

HOWEVER, I now have the message "this computer is not running Genuine Windows". Windows Indexing is not running, send me problems in Outlook and elsewhere.

I saw discussions on the online forum on the problem "Not genuine" resulting from an update of Windows failed and resulting also to change the hard drive.

I led Activation (slui.exe 3) typed in the product key from the sticker on the computer and it activates OK but does not erase the message.

I clicked on pay online now and ran legitcheck.hta and my system has failed validation. The options are to buy or to perform a new installation of Windows.

I have a lot of programs installed on the computer, and I can't lose all configuration data and reinstall all programs. That would take several days and I would not have a system can be used in the meantime.

I ran the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool (1.9.0027.0) and have these results below.

There are a lot of files file mismatches and "tampered with". I believe that this is due to the update has failed.

I thought to manually rerun all updates that goes back to the date when first I struggled (about a month). However, I wasn't sure if this solves the problem or make worse it.

You can leave the data below what actions I need to take the next?

I am a independent and use this computer to work. I have backups of my data files, but it is many installed applications that I can't do without.

  • Error: "Windows could not update the configuration to start the computer. Installation cannot move forward"during the installation of Windows 8 64-bit OEM System Builder on Macbook Pro for help using Boot Camp

    Hello

I have a brand new Macbook pro and I bought the OEM System Builder of 64-bit Windows 8 driver in a store. My problem is that I have not only not able to install it using Boot Camp. At the end of the installation, a message appears with the following text "Windows could not update the configuration to start the computer. Installation cannot continue.

I'm not really a tech guy but I also tried to download virtual box and the same error comes back.

    Can someone help me please?

    Thank you!

Original title: Windows 8 64-bit English OEM System Builder

The thread is old now, but it is for those who always have this problem.

When I got the error, I cancelled and restarted the machine. I pressed the 'option' button when starting upwards and he grew the boot partitions. You should see a 'EFI Boot' partition. Choose that and you restart the installation process, but this time it works.

Supposedly the boot EFI and WinInstall partition should do the same thing. Manually, select one or the other.

  • 32-bit Vista, System Restore and windows update are suspended.

This problem started happening almost two months ago. When I turn off computer and windows update tells me that it is updated, I leave. Ive come back hours later to see that my computer never updated and turns off. Ive tried click on windows update to update while I was connected and it still crashes just forever. Today, I think I discovered perhaps the underlying problem. Finally, I got fed up and decided to do a system restore, after hours of research and try all kinds of solutions on these forums (none worked). So now he is suspended from the system restore. Suspicious to me that when the windows update crashes is on the screen where it says create restore point.

    What can I do?

I do not want to download all that regcure, II _ I chercher search on google, seems tgtbt and I don't want to take the risk of harming my system.
