T440P, Windows 7 upgrade to Windows 8.1 with 63% battery charge threshold

Hello

I have a T440P

Until recently, I was in Windows 7 with Lenovo Power Manager set of limited to 63% support threshold
So far so good.

Now, Windows 8.1 has been installed from scratch (not an upgrade).

The laptop with windows 8.1 always stop loading at 63%. But there is no available for windows 8.1 Lenovo Power Manager. I can't find any solution to disable this limitation...

Help, please

  • T440p windows 10 battery charge mode

    Hi all

I had a recently updated T440p to level to win10pro win7pro. Among other things, the most annoying is the battery charge mode: I put it in "custom load thresholdd", between 55% and 85%. Instead, each time you start the battery starts to load and I have to go to PowerManager8 and change the setting to custom. Then everything is going ok until the next start-up, where I have to do the same thing...

The notification on my antivirus is the second most annoying: I forticlient antivirus (the latest version, updated to work with win10 ok) running without problem, but in each boot win10 informs me that forticlient is disabled and keeps telling me the same every now and then... I've already put the Panel I want info on the antivirus, but win10 seems that does not understand this...

    Any help will be welcomed.

    Thank you, guys!

Hi x220forme and thanks for the welcome!

I found a 'strange' way of trying to solve my problem: I have read in this forum about someone else whom the battery was not charged as it should, and the notice was "try to degrade your power managememnt driver and power manager.

So I thought ' why not? ' and the last 36 hours, I installed Power Management Driver 1.67.03 and Power Manager 6.67 (with windows 10 Pro in a T440p).

Until now, looks like it works well. After many restarts, my battery is at 85% and fails to demand, as he has done with PM8. I'll wait a few more days and let the community know, in case where someone else facing the same problem.

    Thanks again!

  • Windows 8.1 with bing can be upgraded to Windows 10?

Hi, I would like to know some important info

    (1) can Windows 8.1 with the work of bing with more than 2 GB of RAM then

    (2) can it be upgraded to Windows 10

    (3) are there any restrictions on the material and performance Windows 8.1 with Bing features

    Thank you

    Hello Crvenica,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

8.1 Windows with 'Bing' isn't a special version of the operating system with a specific hardware configuration. If you are referring to a system with and without installed Bing app 8.1 Windows, so here are answers to your question.

    (1) can Windows 8.1 with the work of bing with more than 2 GB of RAM then

Altogether. In fact, the minimum requirement of RAM for Windows 8.1 is: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit).

    (2) can it be upgraded to Windows 10

If your Windows 8.1 is activated with a valid product license, you can certainly improve your system to Windows 10 minimum system requirements. To book your free update of Windows 10, refer to the following Wiki article:

How to book your free update of Windows 10

    (3) is there any limitation of Windows 8.1 with Bing related performancies and feature material

No, there is no specific limitation on Windows 8.1 on Bing unless there is a problem of corruption within the system app. The Bing for Windows 8.1 application site said, "the developer of the app believes this app meets accessibility requirements, makes it easier for everyone to use.

Hope this information is useful. Let us know if you need more help, we will be happy to help you.

    Hi Stephanie M.

If your version of Design Premium CS4 for Windows run on a 32 bit OS, then I don't think that it is running in Windows 10. There are a few cases of people install with the 64 bit version of CS4 Design Premium, however. See this thread: Re: CS4 and Windows 10?

  • System hangs after upgrade to 'Windows 8 preview version' to 'Of Windows 8 preview with media center version' when connected to the Internet

I use "Windows 8 preview version" for the last 4 months.

I recently updated the system 'Windows 8 preview with media center version', but my system hangs after each start and restarts.
It works only when I disconnect from an Internet connection. Once I connect to the internet, the system shows new blue screen. Now, I don't even have a system restore to go back to the previous configuration.
I want to use internet on a system without the system get crashed, please help me solve this problem.
I am using Dell Inspiron 15R

The minidump files display a stop error message DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION (133) referencing the netio.sys:

The netio.sys is a Windows driver that is involved in the "networking."

The process that crashes regularly is avgnsa.exe which is a process of AVG.

I would say to uninstall AVG and see if the accidents to solve.

He also seems to be a remnant of a previous installation of Trend Micro (tmtdi.sys) driver.

If you had previously installed Trend Micro plan to run the following Trend Micro removal tool:

If you're running Windows 8 pre-release version of the software consider using just the built-in Windows and antivirus software firewall rather than any third-party antivirus or firewall software.

I have Windows 7 installed with boot camp and use it for some financial software and games. Is this compatible with El Capitan Win7 installation, if I update?  Thank you

Yes. Please check that you have backups and disk not resized/re-partitioned, before the upgrade of the El Capitan. In addition, create a Windows system restore point before the upgrade.

  • I am installing Windows 7 on my laptop. I keep getting a message that says cannot install with the battery. I also have my power hook up the laptop and it is constantly fed. Why can't I install WINDOWS 7?

How can I disable the message from Microsoft for WINDOWS 7 that "7cannot Windows Installer while your battery is in your laptop".
I have pluged my power cord power supply for a constant regular to diet at the same time?

    Hi, Sandy

The Windows 7 upgrade has nothing to do with Windows Update. Transfer your question in this forum: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7install/threads

TIP: You may need a new battery (especially if it's more than 2 years & you have always kept inserted in its Bay while running on current alternative).

Hey everybody.  I have a home network, wired PC, 1 wifi 1.  WiFi works fine.  wired network printers work well, other computers (laptops work fine both wired and wireless.)  I have a PC (VISTA), which now gives me the "windows cannot communicate with primary dns server.  This has happened a couple of times, but a reboot fixed things.  Once I had to change primary dns server from automatic to 208.67.222.222 (who got to this site), it worked.  Now, the same error, but nothing works.  I have tried in both directions between the DNS auto numbers listed here, also, have tried the following:

    ipconfig/flushdns
    ipconfig/registerdns
    netsh interface ip reset reset.log
    netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt

and had windows try to reset the DNS of countless times.  Nothing works.  The upgrade to W7 eventually will correct this problem?  Another question, my wife insists on the use of AOL software (I know, I know), even if all that she uses to is by e-mail.  She says she loves interface.  A chance that caused this problem?

    Installation - 'upgrade' means what?
Upgrade means that you can install Windows 7 simply by inserting the Windows 7 upgrade software in the DVD drive of your PC and follow the instructions on the screen. While you are not required to backup and reinstall your files, or reinstall your programs, it is a very good idea to back up your files and settings before you start any upgrade to the software. Get more information on the software updates and best practices .

Installation - what does "Custom (Clean)" Mean?
A custom (clean) installation clears the contents of the hard drive of your PC. Your files, settings, and programs will not be transferred to Windows 7. This means that to install Windows 7, you must:

    • Back up any files and settings you want to keep

    • Install Windows 7

    • Reinstall all your files

    • Reinstall all the programs you want to use.

These four steps take time, skills, techniques and Windows Easy Transfer can help. However, if you are not comfortable with this process, please consider having the installation carried out by a local service provider.
