T510 Trackpad used / tortoiseshell

The surface of the trackpad on my T510 is wearing off. Is there any type of replacement that would work? I rarely use it. I much prefer the track button. Just something cosmetic, really.

Thank you

James

They are just sick - on the covers can be replaced:

    Old T61 charger is a watt 90 p/n 92 p 1109

Both are 20V and vrtually identical caps.

  • Upgrade SSD or hybrid to my T510

    Hi all

I am considering upgrading my hard drive to my old T510 to 2 years since my original 300 GB drive fills

I am considering getting an ssd or a Seagate hybrid drive, but I'm not sure.

I want a faster startup time and improved performance. Right now it takes more than a minute to boot the system and sometimes seconds to load a large multimedia site. However, I also need big storage because I need a windows and linux dual system and a little store a few movies and a lot of music in the laptop. Because I don't want to replace my DVD with a second hdd, I hesitate between the SSD and hybrid.

I was wondering if any of you have tried the hybrid drive on Thinkpad. How does perform? And anyone who tries it with a dual system? I'm a little worried the dual-boot will mess up with the ssd 6 GB limited is part of the hybrid drive, since it is so little space for both systems and management becomes much more complicated with two totally different file system.

Also if I would go with an ssd, any recommendations? I looked at Samsung 830, Intel 520 and Crucial m4, all are good, but the problems that they are all SATA III, while my T510 support only SATA II. A bit of waste. But all the SATA II ssd seems just outdated and with older technology.

    Thanks a lot guys!

Yes... need you the ThinkPad Serial ATA Hard Drive Bay adapter III.

The reference is 43N3412 detailed here. More information about the adapter here (PS: photo shows one IDE connector that is false.) Someone needs to update this image).

The Bay adapter is hot in that you can safely remove the material at any time & eject your T510 adapter using the physical button under the chassis. I like the provision of better eject buttons on the first series of T.

Hello guys, sorry I got a bit of problem with my curve 9360, it restarts on its own twice, then I removed the battery and the fixed back but the trackpad used wrk. its 13hrs now and I have tried everything, ave. any suggesttions please?

    Hello Uzumaki,

If the trackpad device does not work even after loading the new OS, then it seems to be a hardware problem,

So I think that it will be better to replace your old trackpad to operate.

  • Mini series 3 not putting monitor in power save

    I have a T510 with a Mini Dock Series 3.

Everything works as planned, except when you are using DisplayPort between the dock and my Dell monitor, the monitor will not go into saving energy. When it is connected directly using DisplayPort, the monitor will be able to register without problems, every time.

This problem occurs for the shutdown, Hibernate and sleep. The only time where energy saving working properly is in standby. Wake on LAN and the other suspects usual, that all seem to be set correctly.

Most often, after its judgment (etc.), the screen displays "power saving", turns off for about 10 seconds, him returns with the message "cable not connected" (which means no energy saving).

    Everyone knows this?

Or, in other words, someone else monitor the work of energy saving as expected with a Mini Series 3?

My solution for the T510 must use DVI on my Dell 2408, since to my Dell 2408 DisplayPort has failed.

I looked at the dock when Windows is shut down and after that the T510 stops, 10 seconds later, the dock lights up briefly and the monitor on.

When bypassing the dock and direct connection on DisplayPort, Dell behaved very well

I have concluded that implementing Dell of the DisplayPort power saving function was not compatible with the dock, or at least with what the dock was 10 seconds after the end of the window. I have no idea why the dock does this, but I bet there's a good reason, otherwise... Why do.

My guess is that your problem is similar, that is your monitor ' implementation of DVI power saving is not compatible with the behavior of sending power station about 10 seconds after stopping.

Maybe take a look and see the sequence.

  • T410 does support 2.5 "and 1.8" SSD?

I saw a couple of L410 using1.8"SSD and I wonder if this model (Thinkpad T410/T510) has any restrictions of use 2.5" SSD I should know before to upgrade my HD.

Has anyone installed a 2.5 SSD "in a Thinkpad L410/L510? or...

does anyone know why lenovo uses 1.8 "instead of SSD 2.5"?

The T410 and T510 can use 2.5-inch SSD. 1.8 inch SSD in these machines comes with an adapter inorder to make them fit in the slot.

  • Cursor jump / stuck scroll Windows 8 for Samsung laptop

    Hi all

I use a laptop Samsung Windows 8, which is only a year. A few months ago I started having the cursor jumps around every time I tap on MS Word or, say, Google address bar. When I am browsing, the page scrolls in the very last part of the page and I won't be able to scroll up normally for a few seconds.

I tried to disable my trackpad, using an external mouse and keyboard without result. The issue is still ongoing. I brought it to a repair shop and I was told that my keys are grounded and must be replaced. But if my keyboard grounded, then why is the same question that passes when I use an external keyboard?

Please help me with this. Really losing my mind already. Thank you!

  • Question card mother T30

Hello. Sorry for posting this again, but I couldn't find my old thread.  I have a t30 with a dead mobo and a t30 with a good mobo.

the bad news: we had a trackpad (dead mobo), the other not (good mobo). can I swap the hoses and have a trackpad?

    EDIT:

    http://img258.imageshack.us/my.php?image=t30mbjuly211yg3.jpg

I found this image of my next motherboard. I circled what I seek in red. This is the connector that the trackpad used on my death. can I just plug this one instead? That's my understanding came from this t30 not all with the option "ultranav", but that means of not able to the motherboard?

SOLVED! I had today and fixed my t30! My advice didn't come with a trackpad, but I swapped the case and bingo! I got a restored T30! Switch to the X 86 operating system on this one project!

trackpad is not working I have to use an external mouse.

Hey there, here are some tips that might solve your problem.

1 - Make sure you are on the last update. To see if updates are available for your trackpad, open the App Store and click the updates at the top of the window.

    2-

    Check your settings

Assuming that there were no updates available (or they do not solve your problem), the first port of call should always be your trackpad settings. Many complaints can be resolved simply tweaking a few options

  • Use the Magic Trackpad to Bypass built in Trackpad

Genius diagnosed bad trackpad in my MacBook 2012. Rather than sending repair ($310), I bought Magic Trackpad 2 to work around the problem. Engineering directed me to go to the preference of accessibility, and then click "Ignore built in mouse or trackpad when wireless trackpad is present." I've had that happen and that you can use Magic Trackpad 2 to point and click HOWEVER no other features are available. I can't tap, pinch, rotate, etc. When I click on Preferences of the Magic Trackpad 2, I see a screen indicating that the trackpad prefs are disabled, with no way to turn on the features of the Magic Trackpad 2. Anyone know how I can release all the Magic Trackpad 2 features while ignoring the built in trackpad?

As long as the built-in trackpad is not interfering with your comments in a way (for example causing unwanted movements of the cursor) I would have thought you could disable 'ignore' and just use the external trackpad.

  • How to avoid the accidental use of the Trackpad with El Capitan

I have a Macbook with El Capitan.

I use it constantly to type documents, however I also regularly in the battle with the trackpad being accidentally struck by a part of my hand so move the cursor with the result that I end up also write!

It's really frustrating and does not limit my abilities to strike as I constantly to make sure that I don't have, wrongly, hits the trackpad!

I tried see if there are solutions but, other than the use of an external apple keyboard, I can't find any other solution to avoid hitting this erronously trackpad!

Is there a setting that I can take advantage of to render the less sensitive trackpad and so avoid this disadvantage?

    Thank you.

I do not know if you do not want to do, but you could use an external mouse or trackpad and check the option "ignore the... integrated trackpad." "in the apple Menu > System Preferences > accessibility > mouse and Trackpad. See below:

  • Trackpad unusable after using the Wacom Tablet

After using my graphics tablet pro Wacom Intros to edit images, the trackpad becomes unusable. Even when not frozen it will not properly work without a reboot. This happens every time, so it becomes a bit of a drag.

I use an iMac of mid-2011 and OSX 10.11.4.

Would like to know how this can be corrected.

Post edited by: added gPhot wacom device description

The tablet pen and wacom are known causes of interference.   Move them well away from your computer and try again.   With no improvement, move them temporarily out of the room and try again.   You need to establish that it is the culprit.  Once it is proven, you will need to find a way to work the problem goods because you can not blame the system for causes of interference.
