tab menu on the Web site does not

In Firefox4, homepage or rather the tab header menu is missing. IT works fine in firefox 3.6.16
See the below url for the screenshot

Anyone who can give me some advice? Thank you

It seems that the HTML 5 parser sees a problem with this code. It appears correctly if I disable the HTML 5 (html5.parser.enable), but I see weird stuff in the DOM Inspector with active HTML 5.

Looks like a problem with a few a tags.

<div class="logo"><a href="http://www.reallycooltees.com/home.php"><img src="/skin1/images/RCTLogo4.jpg" <="" a=""></a></div><a href="http://www.reallycooltees.com/home.php">
 </a><div class="tabs"><a style="display:none" href="http://www.reallycooltees.com/home.php">
 </a><ul><a style="display:none" href="http://www.reallycooltees.com/home.php">
 </a><li><a href="http://www.reallycooltees.com/home.php"></a><a href="help.php">Help</a></li>

Epiphany that uses WebKit has the same problem with this part of the code.

<div class="logo"><a href="http://www.reallycooltees.com/home.php"><img src="/skin1/images/RCTLogo4.jpg" </a></div>

Looks like you forgot to close the tag img properly (lack of ' > ').

  • A particular Web Site does not load

A particular website does not load, and I was previously able to view this site about 2 weeks ago. It's a free WordPress site/blog.

I keep getting the error message "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading." I've tried deleting all cookies and emptying the cache with no success. I also tried a "DNS Flusher" with the same result.

I followed all the recommendations on the link using Firefox and checked the FAQ and community sections with no luck.

I can view the page in Safari. The owner of the website can view this website using a configuration similar to mine (Mac OS 10.5, Firefox 12.0).

Nothing I know have changed since I was able to view this site 2 weeks ago for example, I'm not going through a proxy server, nor do I have any secondary security or anti-virus running.

13 Firefox works, so it would be best to install Firefox 16 because it is the last version that works on your operating system.

  • With the help of Firefox 4.0 Beta 4. When I open a link in a new window, the web address does not appear in the address bar. Why?

When I opened a web page link in "a new window" opens the link, but the information of the web page does not appear in the address bar. It is empty. If I open the link in a new tab, ho problem exists.

In addition, if one open a link in the tab without a location in a new tab in the same window and then go to the original tab, the address bar fills up with the web address.

Made it from several places, so it not dependent on location.

That behavior is likely to be the top caused by an add-on, and in your case the probable guilty is IE Tab 2, the different versions of IE Tab caused problems with Firefox 4 beta, including issues with the location bar not updated.

You can test to see if IE Tab 2 is causing your problem by disabling the it and then see if the address in a new window bar displays the address. If it isn't this add-on causing the problem, see Troubleshooting extensions and themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems.

FYI, the IE Tab Plus add-on has been updated recently to improve compatibility with Firefox 4 beta, you can try this one instead. The latest version is available from http://coralietab.mozdev.org/installation.html

  • sides of my layout of the Web site are not aligned correctly - view this thread for a much better understanding!

The sides of my layout of the Web site are not aligned correctly, and the image is slightly moved above.

To much better understand what I mean... First discovered my site here: http://www.clanmog.hostei.com/ - I noticed that this problem only occurs in Firefox (to my knowledge) and not Internet Explorer. It does not have this in IE, but Firefox does.

then look at this image: http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/7210/helpme.PNG

How can I solve this problem?

At a glance I'd say it's because you are clearing out the average divs, but not others. This changes the alignment calculations...

  • Common Web site does not scroll with Firefox the fact with Explorer

Finally, I installed firefox for the first time yesterday. I was impressed by the speed. I have windows XP, which was new at the time on my laptop Compaq Presario V5000. I was unable to download Explorer 8 and the other 2 options on the Ford Motor Co. Web site were Firefox and Chrome. I chose Firefox. When I go on the web site of Ford - photos do not one side to side - scroll and they load partially below the first set of photos on Firefox (the top of page 1/3 of the bottom row to see the pictures) when I load the Explorer on these pictures together and correct scroll and the partial line does not show and which would be correct. On the positive side, in addition to the speed, the list of options and standard equipment truck scrolls up and down properly. On explore, it is difficult to maintain in position when scrolling. In addition, my concern is the antivirus protection and antispyware - I use the free microsoft protection - but I think if you use firefox I don't have. In addition the site Ford when I try to play videos - it says I need flash player - and then it trys to install and used.

    clear cookies
    Clear cache
    Restart in safe mode
    remove the cert8.db

I don't want to reset FF. Any ideas? Thank you very much for your support.

The details of your system to list shows you which were used in previous versions of Firefox and preferences which are no longer supported in the current release Firefox.

Delete possible user.js and files numbered prefs-# .js and rename (or delete) the file prefs.js to reset all the prefs by default, including the prefs set via user.js and pref which is no longer supported in the current version of Firefox.

You can try the following steps in case of problems with web pages:

You can reload webpages and ignore the cache to refresh potentially stale or corrupt.

    • Hold down the SHIFT key and click the Reload button
    • Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
    • Press 'Command + shift + R' (Mac)

Clear the cache and delete cookies only from Web sites that cause problems.

    "Clear the Cache":

    • Firefox/tools > Options > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

    'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

    • Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > "Use the custom settings for history" > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

  • Internal Web sites, does not not via DNS

    Error
The requested URL could not be found
Error: The web filter could not find the address of the requested site

    Why you see this:
The system is unable to determine the IP address for itserv

    Possible reasons could be:

The site name has been entered incorrectly or does not exist. Please double check you have entered the correct URL.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) is unable to resolve the IP address for this domain.

And yet, if I opened my internal website of any other browser, it works without problem. The same goes for my internal IIS Web site and also another internal Web site runs its own web server.
    Any ideas?

After further investigation by myself yesterday, I solved the problem.
The above server is on a static IP address, which is then defined as an exception in the system proxy settings. Other browsers are able to realize that the DNS name resolves to an IP address within this range.
Despite Firefox these automatically get value, it does not have the DNS name of the server that translates an IP address in the range and so just times out.
As it is definitely a bug with Firefox that needs to be solved, as I said, other browsers are able to resolve the DNS and make adjustments to access the data. Probably I'm not the first to encounter this problem.

It has been a while since I tried to create a Windows Media Player for IE and Firefox, so I don't know the latest thinking. You can try this as a complete replacement for your existing video script:

    <script type="text/javascript"> function makePlayer(sURL){ var o=document.createElement("object"); o.setAttribute("type","application/x-mplayer2"); o.setAttribute("data",sURL); var p=document.createElement("param"); p.setAttribute("name","src"); p.setAttribute("value",sURL); o.appendChild(p) document.body.appendChild(o); } makePlayer("http://path/to/song.asf"); </script>
