tabs in folder without toolbar window

I'm doing tabbed windows containing no bar, status bar, side bar or toolbar of Finder. If the tabs are active, unfortunately, there is no way to disable the toolbar. Is there a way to get around this? I need short Windows, and the toolbar add about half an inch upward.

Without open tab, select Show toolbar tab (Shift + Cmd + T) first, then toolbar Hide (option + command + T).

Once you get the drive installed, simply use xcopy or Robocopy to copy the files, with a fairly large music 8000 drop these command-line utility will be faster than to try to copy them through the Windows Explorer GUI.  Xcopy is integrated with Windows XP, Robocopy is available for download from Microsoft.

  • When I right click on a file to save it, Firefox saves it in my download folder without let me pick the destination. Can I get around this?

When I save a file (by clicking on the right) when you use Internet Explorer, I'm allowed to choose the destination folder. However, when I use my default browser to Firefox (again, by right clicking), it simply records the file in my downloads folder without allowing me to select the destination. Why does this happen and can I do to save a file using Firefox and choose the destination where I save it? (My OS is Windows Vista)

  • Change a word or acronym in each file in a folder without having to open each file separately.

Is it possible to change a JSST to BBST in every file in a folder without physically open all files in the folder and do a find & replace?  Under MVS, Unix, BACK 3.0 and CP/M I was able and/or may.  I have at least 6 files with between 20 and 100 files that contain an acronym that needs to be replaced.  I haven't the time to do it manually for each file.

    Hello

I'm afraid to forget that Windows 7 does not provide a feature that allows you to replace a word in a closed file.

You can use a search engine of your choice to find a third-party application that provides you with the functionality.

  • Is it possible to set a password to a folder randomly in Windows 7?

I would like to know if it is possible to add a protection password to a folder created in Windows 7. I realize that you can set up different user accounts or enter the settings on a network share, but it's not my situation. I usually let the friends and other family members just use my computer without going to the trouble to set up a new user account. I would like to create a folder where I can keep the documents with lists of passwords, numbers of accounts and other sensitive data. Is it possible to simply set a password to a single folder?

It is not possible to specifically put a password on a folder and using something like file encryption would not be useful to you or given to your entire family use the same account.

Short of recommending the use of different accounts that would be wise you might look at some of the solutions available out there like PGP and so on.

You might also consider password protecting the actual files, then your file passwords, for example, if it's in Microsoft Word, add a password.

Simple answer, however, is to use accounts for different users, for this and many many other advantages...

    Good luck!

  • [AS] "Without display window" is always window display

    Hi all

I'm trying to process a batch of files InDesign CS3 and when I use the command "without window display", the script runs as expected, except that it does not display the window that the script runs.  I think I could pick up some speed gains major if I could keep the window in the background, but it seems that the script is not obeying this command.

In truth, this command has never worked for me and I'm starting to wonder if a parameter preferably I maybe locally could be the ACE command substitution.

The script below is an excerpt of my script.  Note that I have a Finder window and am processing all InDesign files in this window.

Any ideas or suggestions?  Thanks in advance!

    say application «Adobe InDesign CS3»

put level of user interaction of script preferences to never interact

    say application 'Finder '.

    set theFolder to window 1

set theNumber to count (items in theFolder whose name ends with ".indd")

    end tell

-start process files in the open window

repeat with i from 1 to theNumber

open (item i of theFolder whose name ends with ".indd") without showing window

    --do stuff

    close document 1 record not

    end repeat

    end tell

Your problem is that your code passes references to Finder to InDesign. InDesign does not include references to Finder, then it throws their back to the Finder, which then makes the opening - it's as if you have double-clicked on the file.

You place InDesign an alias or a path, like this:

    Tell application "Finder".

    the value Folder window 1

    Try

set uses (each file in the folder whose name ends in ".indd") as alias list

in case of error- happens if there is a single

set uses (each file in the folder whose name ends in ".indd") as alias as a list

    try to end

    tell the end

    Tell application "Adobe InDesign CS3"

set the level of user interaction script Preferences never interact

-start process files in the open window

Repeat with i from 1 to the number of uses

Open (point I use) without display window

    -do things

    Close document 1 Save any

    end repeat

    tell the end

  • Disable tabs open in a new window

I have the option "show my windows and tabs from last time ', but I would like to only the tabs of the last closed window, then when I start firefox, I get my last tabs of my"last sitting"and when I create a new window using ctrl + N, I have just a blank page waiting to be used, instead of a bunch of tabs , I opened the other session x.

A new window opens with the Home page (s), so if several pages open in a new window, check the homepage.

    • Tools > Options > general > startup: Homepage

Firefox supports several home pages separated by ' |' symbol (pipe).

  • Everytime I open a new firefox window, a new tab opens with the new window. How do I stop this?

Everytime I open a new Firefox window, the new window opens to the page of hope (as I want him), but then a tab opens with the new window. I want Firefox to stop doing this. When I open a new window I want just the window to open it. I don't know how to solve this problem I've known idea how I did that happen. First of all, it happened when I hit Ctrl + N to open a new window, but I did not hit the "N" itself. I pressed one of the other keys around the "N" and this issue has started.

    It's quite strange!

  • new links will be open in a tab, only in the main window

with firefox 21, links will not open a new tab, only in the main window. I put the option of opening tab, but it still does not work

The setting in Firefox/tools > Options > tabs: "new pages should be opened in ': 'a new tab/window' is for links that specify a target window to open the link.

This option allows to divert these links into a new tab instead of a new window.

Links that do not specify a target will open in the current tab if it does not change JavaScript.

If this is not the case then you can have an extension interfere.

For links that do not specify a target, use a middle click or hold down the Ctrl key and click the link or use the context menu to open the link in a new tab or window.

This applies to the bookmarks and other links so that you can click the view Image in the context menu of an image or click on the address bar to get a new tab with this link, the Reload button.

Click on a JavaScript link to avoid having a blank tab.

  • When I open firefox, a small "user toolbar' window opens on the upper right side, I don't want that.

When I open firefox, a small user toolbar window is displayed at the top right, please help as I don't want that, I close it, but it takes a lot of time to close and he hings to the top a bit evrytime.

This might be a feature of an add-on. Could you check to see if you have any unknown Add-ons and disable (or remove). In particular:

Orange Firefox button or classic menu Tools > Modules > category: Extensions

Then restart Firefox and watch the toolbar, we hope that it does not appear.

You could also paste a list of your extensions here for review. You can copy from this page:

This is the second table, which appears under the header Extensions.

  • First tab missing in the second window

I have a multiple tabs open in 2 browser windows. Whenever I left Firefox by choosing File - Exit so the tabs can be opened when Firefox is started.

It works fine on version 9. After the upgrade (since 10.0.1), the first tab in the 2nd window is missing. It can still be opened by selecting groups of tabs, but not visible on the tab bar. In addition, the "Open a new tab" button appear to the left of the tabs instead of the right, which lies between the missing tab and the rest of the tabs.

I have seen these problems myself.

In such a case new tabs I have open appear to the right of the button tab.

This looks like a bug to me.

You can usually fix this by the closure of the (last) with Ctrl + W tab and the restoration of this tab via Ctrl + Shift + T

If you have changed the settings in the options to search for Google (http://www.google.com/preferences?hl=en) links should open in a new tab if you click on them. You can always Middle-click on a link to open the link in a new tab.
