Tabular: new lines problem

Hello

I built a tabular presentation, with the possibility to add a line using the following construction:

Select the null ID
Field1 null
of the double
where: request = 'ADD_ROW.
UNION ALL
Select id
Field1
table

It works very well. Adding an application to the Add button, the new line is created on top of my tabular presentation.

However, if I add the option in the attributes report for users to be able to sort the columns, the apears to the bottom line! I also put the "Sorting NULL values" option to "FIRST."

Why is this influence, given that my query results in a null-line value and sort options are OK, still the row above apears!

Help?? Is this a bug in APEX?

Voxie2,

Technically, Yes, it's a bug. Your best bet is to disable sorting on tabular forms for now. Maybe this will be fixed in APEX 4...

    Version of the APEX 4.1.1.0.0.23

    OK, here's the problem...

    I build a new presentation table, completely standard. I run the page. No problem.

    I add a newline (it uses AddRow()). I enter the values for the new row and submit the page.

    No errors, nothing. But the row is not inserted into the table.

    When I debug I can see that the line is marked as 'deleted' and ignored by the SRM process therefor.

    I searched the web and found this thread: problem with adding line after upgraded 4.1.1 tabular

    Then DBA'ers checked the images directory.

    How can I find what goes wrong?

    Download the latest 4.1.1 RTO and copy the images folder in the pictures of your installation folder if you are running on EPG, SST or earpiece of the APEX.

    I think that the problem will be solved.

  • Added new line at the top of tabular form in APEX 5.0 and universal theme (topic 42)

    Hello Apex Experts,

    When the user clicks on the button 'Add Row' a tabular presentation, I would like the new line to be at the top of the report rather than the bottom.

    I followed the instructions from Added new line at the top of table in APEX 4.0 form and Denes Kubicek demo application. But it does nothing, always create new bottom line.

    Anyone have an idea or an idea?

  • problem - by clicking on the button loses the new line or resets the iterator

    Hello

    I use JDev 11.1.1.6. I created a page that is preceded in the taskflow by a method in the AppModule that creates a line on the iterator and inserts it. I have a button 'Next' in the page, which is supposed to make changes to attribute readonly on the input fields, and display a confirmation button.

    The problem: when I click on 'next', the empty fields that have been entered by the user on the page, is part of the first record in the iterator. It is as if, when the button "Next" has been clicked, the iterator has been somewhat refreshed and moved to the first original line, and entered values have been thrown in there... While my 'new' record is lost. Result: I lose my new record line, and entered values replace the values in the first previous row in the iterator.

    The code used to create the line before the page is loaded:

    Sender ViewObjectImpl = getSubmittersView3_1();

    Submitter.Reset ();

    ViewRowImpl submitterRow = submitter.createRow () (ViewRowImpl);

    submitter.insertRow (submitterRow);

    When the page is loaded initially, I printed the primary key on the line and a - 4 (which is good, it means new line)

    But when I print the primary key in the action of the button 'Next', 59, who has been the pharmacokinetics of the first original line I.

    The code that is used to print the primary key:

    seqNum int = Integer.parseInt (this.getAppModule () .getSubmittersView3_1 () .getCurrentRow () .getAttribute (0) m:System.NET.SocketAddress.ToString ());

    Then print seqNum.

    Please help.

    Found the problem.

    I had a button print at the bottom, which was my button "Cancel". In this paper, I got the code to remove additional items (i.e. unwanted ranks - since it is a Cancel button). And what was going on was that while rendering on the page, the code of the EEG for the go button was running and the removal of my new line! If the culprit here was go get code button is iterated in the rendering phase... something I didn't expect or know so far. Remove this code and change a command button solves the problem.

  • What should I do for default values when a new line is created in a tabular presentation?

    Hello all-

    I have a tabular presentation that requires a few columns to be entered by the user when he or she creates a new line, but other fields in the column can just default to certain values.  How to set these values by default so that the user doesn't have to be bothered with enter no data except those which MUST be entered?

    An example:

    Form1

    CITY OF COUNTRIES IN THE REGION

    APAC JAPAN TOKYO

    SIDNEY AUSTRALIA, APAC

    APAC KOREA-SEOUL

    REGION is almost always APAC, then I want that by default.  The user can always adjust if necessary, but I want to put it to the user, only to save having to enter a value.  When the user clicks on the button to add a line, that I want to load this value immediately and leave the two empty fields so the user can enter what they want.

    Thank you!

    John

    Hello

    Go change this column.

    Under attributes of tabular form, you will find options to set the default value

  • Problem with creating a new line in widget glossary

    I use 6 Captivate and have a problem with trying to display text on a new line in the description field of the widget glossary. In playback mode, a carriage return displays form \n

    I read in another discussion (from early last year), that this problem had been resolved and that the fix would be communicated soon on the blog of captivate for users without a subscription. Anyone know if the fix has been shared yet - I can't find it anywhere?

    Thanks for any help you can provide.

  • AF:dialog cancel the problem on the new line of VO

    With the help of 11.1.1.4.

    I have an af:popup that contains an af:dialog which itself contains entrable components mapped to attributes of VO, the first being an af:selectOneChoice (list of the part of the body). The list of the part of the body draws from a LOV configuration on the underlying VO attribute. LOV rowset is initialized in the model of the line layer whenever the popup is called to make sure that it contains all the allowed values.

    Everything works fine except when:

    (a) user adds a new row to the underlying VO and invokes the popup to initialize the values of the new line, and
    (b) the user selects a value in a list of the part of the body, and
    (c) user chooses to cancel the dialog box

    The PopupCanceledEvent triggers a Delete on the underlying VO in the case above operation, to remove the new line has been added.

    It all works very well, but if the dialog box is now called either for another new line or an existing line, the list of the part of the body indicates the value that has been selected to b) above and not on the value as it is in line with model (this has been verified). If I add and remove line using the Delete operation out of an icon above the table of VO (outside), then no problem. The problem is not correct itself unless / until the user goes in the new dialog box and completes the process of adding line by pressing the button of the OK dialog box. User can then delete this new line using the icon and then edit and add all operations work fine again.

    All about the model seems very well, the problem seems to be that the user interface components in the dialog box are not properly initialize values which I know to be in the model WHEN AND ONLY WHEN the dialog box was canceled on the addition of a new line (cancellation of a change does not cause the problem). I tried various RPP requests to try to synchronize the items with related values, but not luck.

    Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be going on here?

  • Other new lines in SQL script file and problem with SQL * more

    Hi all

    I would like to ask a question on the characters of new line inside files SQL scripts. I have a very long SQL query, stored in a file txt (ANSI encoding). Because query instructions are very long (several table joins and WHERE conditions) tried to separate, WHERE and ORDER BY clauses by inserting several new characters of lines (just hit the entrance) among them in order to improve the clarity of the source code. Now the problem is, whenever these newline characters are inserted in the file, apparently SQL * Plus cannot parse the file properly and gives me the following error message:
    SP2-0042: unknown command "FROM" - rest of line ignored.
    SP2-0734: unknown command beginning "myenterpri..." - rest of line ignored.
    The problem is definitely related to these new line because characters that when I remove them, the scripts runs without any problem. I would appreciate that you could kindly guide me how should I deal with this problem. Is there any SQL * Plus command to run to correctly interpret the new line characters?

    Thanks in advance,

  • How to add a new line at the top of manual tabular form

    I have a manual tabular form. I am trying to add a line at the top of the form, instead of the new line of being displayed at the bottom. any ideas are appreciated.

    Thank you
    Surya

    If you did a manual tabular presentation using a select statement as follows:
    Choose option...

    Union of all the
    Select... of double

    Try to simply reverse the two select:
    Select... of double
    Union of all the
    Choose option...

    I did this in an application, and it works.

  • Problem inserting new line in a VO with SQL functions and subqueries

    Hello

    I use JDeveloper 10.1.3.4 and and stuck with insertion of a new line when the values to insert into some fields of the new line are returns of SQL functions and subqueries.

    At the sqlplus prompt, the following sql statement is tested and developed successfully:
    insert into VALIDATIONS values (
       '111223333', 'JANE', 'DOE',
       SYSDATE,
       (select to_char(sysdate, 'yymmdd') from dual)||
       (select to_char(count(TRANSACTION_DATE)+1,'fm0999') from VALIDATIONS
          where trunc(TRANSACTION_DATE) = to_char(sysdate))
    );
    Note that the values for the fields of 4th and 5th are returns of subqueries and SQL functions.

    Ideally, it would be simple to assemble a SQL and executed him as he did to the old way of servlet:
    String sql = "insert into VALIDATIONS values ('" + id + "', '" + firstName + "', '" + lastName + "', SYSDATE, (select to_char( ......)))";
    statement.executeUpdate(sql);
    I'm not sure it can be done in JDeveloper, and it was not found in the developer's guide. What I found was rather:
    // 1. Find the ServiceRequests view object instance.
    ViewObject svcReqs = am.findViewObject("ServiceRequests");
    // 2. Create a new row and insert it into the row set
    Row newSvcReq = svcReqs.createRow();
    svcReqs.insertRow(newSvcReq);
    // 3. Show effect of entity object defaulting for Status attribute
    System.out.println("Status defaults to: "+newSvcReq.getAttribute("Status"));
    // 4. Set values for some of the required attributes
    newSvcReq.setAttribute("CreatedBy",308); // Nancy Greenberg (user)
    Date now = new Date(new Timestamp(System.currentTimeMillis()));
    newSvcReq.setAttribute("RequestDate",now);
    newSvcReq.setAttribute("ProdId",119); // Ice Maker
    newSvcReq.setAttribute("ProblemDescription","Cubes melt immediately");
    // 5. Commit the transaction
    am.getTransaction().commit();
    In my case, it would be OK for the first three fields as shown below (in the code of transactionsRecords is a display object). But what about the 4th and 5th fields?
    Row newTransaction = transactionsRecords.createRow();
    transactionsRecords.insertRow(newTransaction);
    newTransaction.setAttribute("StudentId", id);
    newTransaction.setAttribute("FirstName", firstName);
    newTransaction.setAttribute("LastName", lastName);

    newTransaction.setAttribute("TransactionDate", <how to put "SYSDATE" here?>);
    newTransaction.setAttribute("ConfirmNumber", <how to put subqueries here?>);
    A big thank you to those who know or have experience before!

    Newman

    Newman,
    You can do this via a procedure call. This technique is described here
    I guess you can't do this directly in the EO or VO.
    You can do it the old way to create a prepared directly query and call it as you described. To get the declaration use getDBTransaction () .createPreparedStatement (...) method available in the module of your application.
    Be aware of the implications using the given solution. The framework doesn't know anything of what you are doing. So to see the changes that you used to update the tables that you change.

  • Speech to the new line number or paragraph text

  • TDMS Excel Add-in does not limit new line Excel 2007 support

    First stop, I want to say that format TDM/PTM is really useful. It allows you to perform all sorts of things that would be a real pain if you've tried to do with spreadsheets, delimited by tabs. You can format data in spreadsheets excel for analysis with separate tabs and the names of channel on the columns and the whole nine yards. You can even throw error messages in the properties that appear on the first tab.

    The problem occurs when the user works with very large files. Excel 2003 and earlier versions of Excel have limits of 65 536 rows by 256 columns. Until the latest version of the Excel Add-in, CT if you tried to import files in addition to this he would lift an error and does not create any file at all. It is important now to a file and that you specify the index, which is so much better.

    Excel 2007 supports 1 048 576 lines by 16 384 columns! This is really useful. But the current version of the TDM Excel Add-In does not support the limit of the new line. Is there a way we can get a version of this for 2007 that supports the new limits of the line? It would be cool if the add-in could automatically detect the version and to modify the limits of import accordingly but it is perhaps too much. Has anyone else experience these problems?

    My client would like to file long record time at 200 Hz throughout the day. Lines of data per file is 720 000. Yes, that's a lot, but excel takes care of everything. The importer TDMS impossible. Of course there are workarounds and we will have to use one if a new version of the Add - in Excel TDM will not soon made. Y at - it a new version coming soon? Please say Yes.

    Mystery solved. Completely uninstalling and reinstalling the add-in, do the same thing on a computer to co-workers and to come with the same limited import I scratch my head a bit. It turns out that my network administrators put all suites MS Office in the entire company to operate in 'compatibility' default Mode, so they would save default 2003 versions. When Excel is running in compatibility mode and the user tries to import large tdms, the behavior I described occurs.

    I really appreciate your help guys. This is the supplement at all.

  • Escaping \n (new line) it displays only

    Hi, I have simple problem here:

    I have a ListView that when selected will push NavigationPane with a long description on this subject.

    The long description is stored in dataModel that also contain the title of the list.

    The problem is the \n (new line) in the description is literally printed as '\n' and does not do a new line.

    I tried typing "Hello\nWorld" inside the TextArea.text and it doesn't create new line.

    So, what's the problem here? Any solution? Thank you

    Hello

    "\n" resolves to unique character with code ASCII 10.

    \n in text dataModel is two characters and not the line break.
    How to create and fill the dataModel?

    UPD:

    This XML must be equivalent to "\n" in C++ code, but the regular line breaks will also remain:

    Another option is loading XML manually using QXmlStreamReader, by replacing the line breaks with spaces and the '\n"-s with line breaks, then adding data to GroupDataModel or ArrayDataModel." XmlDataModel is not very flexible and does not change its data.

  • String concatenation with a new line

    Hey,.

    I'm doing something that I considered quite simple but hit a few problems.  I'm looping through an array of strings and concatenting them with a new line separator and put the result to the Clipboard string so that it can then be pasted into a field. The problem is what is the sign of a new line separator?  I tried:

    « \n »

    '\r' + '\n'

    « \n »

    System.getProperty ("line.separator");

                  String txtToPaste = "";
                    String eol = System.getProperty("line.separator");
                    for (int entryIndex = 0; entryIndex < entries.length; entryIndex++) {
                        txtToPaste += entries[entryIndex];
                        // if we are not the last entry then add a new line
                        if (entryIndex < entries.length) {
                            txtToPaste += eol;

                        }
                    }

    What is the right way to build a string with newlines inside?

    Thank you.

    something like txtToPaste = entries [entryIndex] + "\n"; might solve your problem.
