Taking advantage of the faster wifi on Mac Pro 1.1

Replaced my aging Airport Extreme Base station 1st generation. Didn't break, but I don't get the most with my iPhone 6s more and iPad Mini 3. In addition, other in the home using Windows laptops and 1 years older iPhones.

Surprised he changed it a long time without crashing. Well worth the money I paid initially 8 years ago.

in any case, I found a router TPLink on Amazon in my price range. The most recent airport is too expensive and hear Leo Laporte disappointment with the latter airport. I get 8 Mac Pro 1.1 impressive performance on all my other devices except for my confidence. I think it has to do with double bands and my old Mac Pro can't do the switch like any modern computer?

I think the purchase of WiFi or USB card to enjoy. Any suggestion is appreciated.

PS I would prefer wired, but at this point, I can connect through ethernet wifi only.

Thank you

Every Mac since the turn of the Millennium can do dual-band Wi - Fi, alias "Airport Extreme". Do not buy new hardware without investigating what might happen first.

What you get on your Mac Pro when you hold down Option and click the Wi - Fi icon in the menu bar, something like this:

What do you get for Mode PHY and channel?

What do you get for RSSI/power?

What you get for the emission rates?

very important and how many other networks do you see?

  • Putting swap on the road of new Mac Pro

Last week, I installed a pretty new EVO 850 500 GB SSD Samsung cloned successfully man requiring 320 startup disk to it.

As you can imagine, for the past week, I've been myself patting on the back, bragging to my friends and usually insult to the speed of light by Early 2008 Mac Pro 3.1 now working at.

It's seriously that quickly now, that I fear he will soon realize it's very own form of consciousness and maybe try to destroy the planet or something.

A week on however I wake up to the news that Apple will release their new OS Sierra, so excited, I rushed to know more.

Hhhuuummm, is not compatible with Mac Pros more than 2010.

Now having been a Mac owner and user since the first Macintosh, I am quite aware that if Apple is no longer supported your machine with a BONE, the end is near. Pretty overwhelming after only a week ago, he rose to the status of demigod.

Thus, faced with the imminent disappearance of my 3.1 and unable to splash the ridiculous $11, 000AUD wanting by Apple for a new, same spec'd Mac Pro, I have to look maybe a 2012 second hand model or similar.

My question is this. Can I just remove the new Samsung SDD and older Classic readers of my old 3.1 and jump in the bays of a new 5.1 and expect it to work?

While I'm confident enough that older readers won't be a problem, it's the Start Up disc (with the El Capitan on it) bothers me. Is the disk drive Start Up inseparably linked to my old 3.1 and unable to start a more recent machine unless I have format and start again?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

You 'Da Man' Troy, you 'Da Man '... I went through what you've been through as well. Had a Quad core of 2008 that was not serious, but is not a measure quite, so went with a 12 core opportunity pro mac, which, although the phenomena up a little bit on the handles (shipping container was ugly) now works correctly. First, back up your stuff. That is true with any computer-back it upward. Hard drives can and fail, usually without much warning.  Secondly, what you propose should work. The startup disk is not inseparably and absolutely linked to your old 3.1 at all. I'm sure that you have activated the TRIM and do all that. I see no reason why it wouldn't work. That's what I did with my replacement hard drive, only it popped in my recent Mac pro. The only difference is that the sleds by car are somewhat Pluss, and so it will not work in the other. All you need is a Phillips screwdriver, screws don't go, so when you're ready, undo the readers from the old machine, attach them to the new drive sleds and drag em in (by making sure, of course, that they are the correct way around). Assuming that there is a player any of your recent mac pro, you might be able to use Internet recovery * or make some kind of bootable Setup program and put it on a dvd or a USB key. Snow Leopard (10.6.8 I think) will allow you to get at least to the App store, and from there, you can install El Capitan. After you back up your stuff, you can use Migration Wizard and Time Machine, which are integrated into the operating system, to transfer your stuff on and off re - authorize your new Mac (and off allowing the old a) to use the iTunes store and all that, you should be good to go, and more if you want, you can put a blu ray in your new mac (you may have to the Scout for the software to play blu - ray even if - this feature is not built in)

hope this helps you - I think I paid about $4 322 Canadian with a monitor, and oddly enough, the guy I bought it second hand me that it probably came from Australia...

How to use the adapter from the wall with my Mac Pro laptop?

The AC wall connector is not compatible with the outlet on the MBP?  As the MBP charger will work from 100v to 240v, a transformer is necessary.  You need a converter that connects to the power outlet home and is compatible with your MBP.  You can buy the Apple travel kit:

    http://www.Apple.com/shop/product/MD837AM/A/Apple-world-travel-adapter-Kit

Or you can use a single specific converter for the geographical area:

    http://www.Amazon.com/orei-grounded-universal-adapter-Singapore/DP/B004SCSV2U/re f = sr_1_4? ie = UTF8 & qid = 1460735377 & sr = 8-4 & keywords = us + in + uk + power + adapter

(it is a UK USA example)

Or you can get the converter that adapts the charger directly:

    http://www.Amazon.com/HIOTECH%C2%AE-extension-charger-connecting-specification/d p/B00MA48JZW/ref = sr_1_3? ie = UTF8 & qid = 1460735486 & sr = 8-3 & keywords = us + in + uk + power + ad aptor + apple + charger + cord

(again, this is for a UK plug.)

You are allowed to install and enabled on both computers at the same time, but you can never copy an installed copy of PES. You must install it from scratch on the Mac Pro. If you need the file, you can download it here:

  • Lightroom 3.5 is not taking advantage of the cache when photos of 1:1 rendering

    Hello

    I meet a strange bug.

I usually import my pictures and ask LR to generate standard previews at the same time, which is good to preview full screen.

When go to the sight of the magnifying glass and zoom, LR inevitably deals a 1:1 view. It's fine for me. However, after scrolling on other images and going back to the same exact image that has already been made of 1:1, LR displays the "Loading" message and actually proceed with a different view on 1:1. It does not take advantage of the same cache if 1. the DAT files are present in the cache of the 2 ACR directory. I emptied the cache and tried again 3. I put a higher limit (20 GB).

    I use LR 3.5 on Windows 7 x 64.

    Any advice?

    Thank you!

The cache of the cab is on the develop module.  The view of the Magnifier is in library and creates 1:1 previews when the zoom.  They must always be charged and scaling, but the second time in the library should be faster than the first (by far).  Develop is going to be slower because the cache is not finished images, he partially dealt with the raw data.

  • Taking advantage of the original character of a a column of MDB

    Hello
Is there a function /forumla that I can use in the model of business layer, to the first letter in a future column?

    Thank you

    Hello..

for a particular column in MDB, you must change its features.
If you use the ORACLE database... the exact function is INITCAP
And you must use the Evaluate function in your BMM.
    As:
Evaluate ('initcap (%1)', your column )

initcap function will change to the other databases.
    NOTE:
    1. This function in oracle, changes not only the value of data for the first letter takes also advantage of the character that comes after a space.
    2. This feature also allows to reduce the value of character if the caps are there between the chain...

    ON THE OTHER

Another approach is: use the following
    UPPER (SUBSTRING ("Paint". "". "". "Market '. ' region' OF 1 FOR 1)) |"  LOWER (SUBSTRING ("Paint". "". "". "Market '. ' region ' OF 2)) '"

but it shows only the first letter as a capital and remains in the smaller cases.
Please close this thread if this gives you the correct result...

    Thank you & best regards

  • Get 6G SATA in the platters of drive Mac Pro 2010

After some research, it seems that the procedure to attach a map of mini SAS PCIe to readers in the disc trays Mac Pro internal is simple enough for the Pros of the Mac 2006-8, but not so much for 2009-2012.

With regard to the very simple procedure for the 2006-8 Mac Pros:

AFA I can tell, the Mac Pro 2009-12 is not a SATA port transfer to connector mniSAS on the motherboard as the 2006-8, but requires some antics more. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Why not just buy a special tray in which you mount the SSD and it connects to your SATA bus using one of the four internal trays. However, this bus doesn't support 3G in this model, a 6G SSD will work, but not as fast.

Until recently, I had the album of my photo stream on my Mac Pro soft Photos.  He disappeared.  Photos always sync between my iPhone and the Mac, photo stream is enabled in all devices. Album photo Stream is visible on my iPhone and iPad... but not on the Mac.  Is it possible to recreate the album?  Without it, it is very difficult to find images that got slaughtered on mobile devices.

The album of my photo stream will not display if iCloud photo library has been activated.  Have you enabled iCloud photo library?

Without it, it is very difficult to find images that got slaughtered on mobile devices.

But you can find pictures of your mobile devices using a smart album with a camera model rule:

    Try a rule 'camera model's iPhone... »

You can sort this album by the Date of Capture.  And combine several rules of the camera with "Match Any... »

  • The limits for OSX Mac Pro 3.1 update in early 2008

I wonder till I can upgrade the operating system of my Mac Pro 3.1

    I currently have El Capitan

I would spend the money, do some hardware upgrades (SSD, RAM)

and I wouldn't, being an early 2008 to discover the next year general hardware of the machine is too old

I do not pretend to have updates of the system for another 10 years but I don't find me 'old' next year

Unfortunately, there is no way of knowing what will be obsolete next year or the year after, etc.

  • Taking advantage of the monitor of the computer using HP OpenVMS V8.3 - 1 H 1

    Hello

If this isn't the correct forum please advise.

I would like to take my PC monitory view very large reports.  Now I know only two modes in open vms and 80 columns or 132 columns.  Anyone know how I can develop my columns?

    Thank you

    Rich

How do you use your PC monitor?

If you mean you want to sit at your PC and connect to your VMS system and view its reports, then I know of two ways.

    1. Use a terminal on the PC emulator (PuTTY is one I know) and connect (probably telnet) to the virtual machines. Set your widest terminal emulator window as you like. The VALUE type $ TERMINAL/WIDTH=however-many-columns-with-the-window-is.
    2. DECWindows/X-Windows to view a DECterm on your PC. Type: SET $ TERMINAL/WIDTH = however-scale-you-want.

In both cases, you are not constrained to 80 or 132 (or which in fact for origin of VMS or DEC). You can choose any desired width.
