  I have a 8 GB SD card that was in my Blackberry 9700 and was loaded with ringtones, all kinds of Notification sounds and special EFX sounds. Of course, I used the same SD card when I bought the Atrix. After the Gingerbread update, while I was exploring Google Talk + Video, I discovered that all the sounds and ringtones are available and working in this program.

  I guess the question is why are they available and not only this way in Google Talk + Video programs, email, text, Applications in a similar way. Is it a process of gingerbread, or the individual application.

  My guess is that some applications index all the media themselves, while the Basic apps that are part of the operating system, that are looking only in specific places.

  Each application (email, messages, contacts) has a menu of... separate notifications so if you are in text messages, you go to the menu button, settings and you can find the options there to change the sounds.

  Hi, I have the new Moto G and WhatsApp is installed. Now, whenever I put a ringtone for contacts who are _not on WhatsApp, parameter never gets recorded, it goes back up to the default ringtone. Same thing with the Favorites - mark the contact as a favorite, it immediately passes to favorite no and my action is canceled. These work only for contacts of WhatsApp.

  Thanks AlphaDog. I used standard ringtones. I did a reset factory and lo, it now works fine. If all goes well he will not be in bad state to soon he again. Thanks for the help.

  The problem is solved finally. The culprit was the cable that came with the pack of USB. I replaced it with my Moto X cable that is thicker than that which is expected and my tablet started to load

  I have a Moto G and for some reason any ringtone, do not work the sounds of sms and app notifications. There is nothing wrong with the speakers on the phone that I can still play music and my alarm still wake up in the morning. When I go to settings, sounds and notifications and move the slider for each audio section, I can hear an audio preview for the media and the alarm volume but won't ring volume. If anyone can help me with this I would be immensely grateful that I rely on my phone for work.

  For anyone who has had a similar problem. I did a factory reset on my phone and this has solved the problem. Bit of a burden, but at least the phone works now...

• Why don't the custom ringtones work?

  Ringtones, used to work for me, but now all I get is a default list as Andromeda, Aquila... Motorcycle... Solarium... Zeta. I can't find these ringtones on the phone when I look for them. The ringing of the bike has been a nice tone, now it's a boring as hell guy saying, ' bum, bum... brrrrrrrrr... bum, bum... brrrrrrrrrrr.

  My ringtones folder is still there with my mp3 clips. But they do not appear on the list of ringing when I try to set ringtones on contacts.

• How can I make audio files on my SD card appear on the list of ringtones and notifications?

  I've had my Moto Droid for a few weeks now and am loving every minute!  It's a little heavy, but the thing is as strong as a brick with the right case and screen protector.

  My problem is that I read a previous posting on this forum that says to create folders on the SD card that is called:

  sounds

  Media

  ringtonesnotificationsalarms

  It was supposed to go to the Android OS to recognize some sound files that I put in the files and let me use them as ringtones, notifications, and alarms.  Once I disassembled the Droid to my computer and removed it once again on the phone, I checked the list of ringtones and none of them were there (which had no alarms or notifications).  I even rebooted the unit and that they were not yet available from the SD card.

  Any suggestions?  Note that I missed?

  I just wanted to be clear.  The DCIM folder is located in the root directory and you want the media to be in the directory folder root and not in the DCIM folder.

  I have a moto droid.  I was going to send my wife a few rings (we are both users of Verizon)

  I have the ability to send photos or movies or even a record that I do (via SMS) but there seems to be no option for a ringtone.

  Any help / suggestions?

  We are not "techies" in order to keep the answers simple.

  Use ASTRO of the market which is a file manager to access your ringtone directory. then long press on the file and a menu appears.  Select the option of fixing of gmail and send it to your wives ten-digit telephone indicative number first, followed by @vzwpix.com ([email protected]) and she will receive the ringtone as a txt message and then can save it as a ringtone on his phone.

  Hi, I am experiencing a problem that makes me not really get angry at the Service of clients from Lenovo and Microsoft at the same time. I use a G550 with Celeron 1.8 GHz CPU and 2 GB DDR RAM with HDD of 250 GB and G4500 Graphics

  I was very happy when buying my laptop and couldn't wait to install Windows 7 on it. As I did, I realized very quickly that there are major problems with Windows 7 on my laptop, and I was not able to run my software. Games would not be executed, the programs would be would break and I felt duped in a way. That of why I thought then about XP, which is a very simple OS, but would at least run all my software on this laptop that I just bought. So I installed XP and I couldn't find all the drivers I needed, I was not able to run my WIreless LAN-network and in XP total is a piece of 9 years, of the software, which has many security problems and wont be adapted to a new laptop in this price category. I mean I spent $ 500 on this laptop, and then I find myself running XP on it? No thanks!

  So I switched to Vista, that was my last hope, and that would go at least my applications, not the crash and updatable. And at least I could really use the ease of this laptop on Vista. But one thing that makes me really crazy crazy, is that I am lucky to have the worst performance with Windows Vista. I run SP2, needs renewed start as 40seconds without logon. Another extra 20 seconds for the loading of all auto-start programs (which are just that anti-virus and the usual system stuff). I have to be stuck on Windows Vista forever? I have so many problems with this operating system, but anyway its just more convenient than the old dusty XP and windows7 new crashy. Is it really this bad, that after having spent hundreds of dollars on a new laptop that I have to paste vista ot, to stay updated and use my old programs including windows 7 just does not work?

  I think that his little irony that Microsoft does not solve their problems of incompatibility with computers laptops lenovo, and that Lenovo doesn't problems, that the experience of their customers.

  I was very much surprised when I bought this laptop until I realized the problems such as:
