Although by default, the taskbar is displayed on the bottom of the screen,
It can be on any of the sides on what you prefer. To move any
side to side, simply click an unused portion and drag
where you want it. Don't forget to click inside it, not on the edge.
by clicking on the edge and dragging will resize not move.

If it does not move, it can be locked. In this case, right click on it
and uncheck "Lock the taskbar", then try again.

Moreover, with the screen monitors wide today, I prefer the taskbar
on the left or the right of the screen. I think that allows a better
use of real estate than have it at the bottom of screen.

  • My taskbar moved from the bottom of the screen to the right, how do I go back to the bottom and remain visible?

Much of the information related to my taskbar was eliminated when he suddenly left the bottom of the screen to the right; He disappears, then reappears when the browser goes to the right. It's quite annoying. How can I get my original taskbar appears at the bottom of the screen again?

You can drag the Windows taskbar to the position at the bottom of the screen.

After having done with the right button of the taskbar and search for a context menu entry lock the taskbar so that doesn't happen.

    1. What operating system is installed on your computer?
    2. Did you changes to the computer before the problem occurred?

Right click on an empty space in the taskbar, if lock the taskbar has a check mark next to it, the taskbar is locked. You can unlock it by clicking on lock the taskbar, which removes the check mark.

Then click on an empty space on the taskbar, and then hold down the mouse button, dragging the taskbar to one of the four sides of the office. Once the taskbar where you want, release the mouse button.

  • taskbar - has moved from the bottom of the screen to the top and I can't move it to its default position

the taskbar moved right from the bottom to the top of the screen.  I can't move it to its default position, the bottom of the screen.

the taskbar moved right from the bottom to the top of the screen.  I can't move it to its default position, the bottom of the screen.

It's a matter of Windows not a question of IE.  However, FWIW, what I would do is disable Auto-Hide, and then use the menu item move the taskbar, for example Alt-space, M and then do a few movements of the cursor to see where you can get it at.   That's actually what I did in XP.  I am now on W7 and apparently this Alt-space, M thing does not work here.  In W7 they apparently now actually do less esoteric function, for example, there is an explicit option for this in the taskbar properties dialog box.  Who would have thought?  I don't know what the State of this feature in Vista.   Try both?   ; )

    Good luck

Do you mean that the taskbar moved from the bottom of the screen to the left or right of the screen?

If that's all, no system restore is necessary. Although by default, the taskbar is displayed on the bottom of the screen, it can be on any side you prefer on. To move to any side to side, just click an unused portion and drag it where you want. Don't forget to click on * in * it, not on the edge. by clicking on the edge and dragging will resize not move.
