Technical and online support

When it comes to learning products I find these forums and the Adobe Help sections a lot. Unfortunately, I will have continuous technical failures and do not know where to turn. I called customer service to find out how to reach technical support to no dismay. Post on the forums, sometimes goes unanswered or the problem is never solved and I don't know what to do next.

When to reset the preferences or tool does not resolve the issue, what is the next step?

Here is an example of a question that was not corrected when you reset the preferences. I have a couple more, but post them in another message. My main concern is:

If these issues are not resolved, I can't use the software. I'm just seriously out of luck?

Adobe has an online chat and a helpline.  The forums are a few users, no paid help.

It appears from the answers we receive that help Adobe is more oriented to a standard script.  They go down the checklist and if a common problem will come with the solution.  When they get confused, they refer user to the Forum.  There is a lot of depth here as good eyes can see the problem.

At this point, the user can make or break the solution.  They must be very specific as to what the problem is and provide exactly what they see, or have tried.  We can not read minds or see what you see.  Several times a screenshot shows a wrong setting for what they're trying to do.

If you see a good answer mark as such and then others looking for same problem will see a solution.  Your solution may not be the solution to his neighbor, but may lead to think in the right direction.

    This could be due to a host file incorrectly configured as hosts of operating system files map the hostnames to IP addresses. A misconfigured hosts file can affect the ability of your computer to connect to the Adobe activation servers.

    Follow these steps to see if there is a problem with your hosts file and if necessary

    Please follow the steps below:

    1. Click Start > run, type % systemroot % \system32\drivers\etcand press enter.
    2. Right-click on the hosts file, and then select Open. Select the application Notepad open the hosts file.
    3. Save the hosts file: choose file > record under, save the file as hosts.backup, and then click OK.
    4. Look for the hosts file for entries that refer to adobe (for example, 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com, or 127.0.0.1 lm.licensing.adobe.com) and delete these entries.
    5. Save and close the file.
    6. Restart your computer and try to turn it on again.

    Is it necessary to have and use the updated HP and HP Support Assistant?  HP Support Assistant does not have everything HP Update done more more? It seems that HP Support Assistant was created to replace HP Update.

    I agree with you.

    The support assistant is a program that includes the search for updates and other features such as air upward, etc..

    I see no need for both (in fact, I see no need of either).

    I mean this... I would like to change the default value of the assistant to support the definition and automatically download and install updates. I read where this thing was running updates the BIOS in the background while people were working on their PC with antivirus running programs, etc., than to have bad things happen.

    If you like the support Wizard, my recommendation is to change the setting to warn and let me choose which updates to install - or what is the closest option to the default.

    I recommend you uninstall Norton 360 temporarily computer & check if the problem persists.

    Download and run the Norton removal tool to uninstall your Norton product

    Original title: no noise of operating system, no sound on YouTube and online TV. Sounds on the speakers with or without headphones ok, sound OK on netradio ok and windows mediaplyer.

    Windows Vista Home Basic, Realtek High Definition Audio. I updated the driver for sound card and I tried Microsoft difficulty It Center without result. When I test the speakers sound is ok, but no sound when I test windows operating sounds. In service, the window is Windows Audio started. Generator endpoint Windows Audio is not there. I have checked the volume control, acoustic window, test tone, sound effects and sound levels. Only the sounds of window aren't there when I test.

    1. I tried method 1: uninstalled and installed the audio driver: still no system sounds and no sound on YouTube and TV.

    2. I did a file system check (sfc/scannow): "Windows Resource Protection has not found any breach of integrity."

    3 Microsoft Fix Center tells me that soundservices one or more are not performed and that Windows Audio and Windows Audio endpoint Builder should run and that one of these services do not work.

    4. in the services window, Windows Audio is started. Generator of Windows endpoint is not there.

    Who is the problem and what can I do?

  • BIOS and HP Support Assistant?

    I am a little appalled and would like to know what is happening with the updated Bios and HP Support Assistant.  To visit this forum, I came to the conclusion that we should NOT allow the HPSA download and install the updates to the Bios.  Is this true and if so, what do you do to solve this problem?  Unfortunately, I learned that this HPSA AFTER put to update my Bios to a version that is not listed for my laptop.  Unfortunately, not a not inform me on what I should do after it has happened.  Should I try and "exploded" my Bios?  Or leave?  I appreciate all help.  I now f.2bs and according to the download site for my model number, I use f.0Une.  My laptop is a Pavilion DV6T-7000 Quad Edition A5F76AV.

    Problem solved.  I decided my BIOS of backflash called for on site support (drivers and downloads).  Everything is fine and it even fixed some Diagnostics UEFI.  After seeing things, I found that HPSA does not have a very good job of distinquishing your operating system.  In my case, whenever HPSA tells me an update of the BIOS, it applies generally to 8 Windwos.  I am running Windows 7.  Meh.

    GANYMEDE + Auth-Proxy is only supported after ACS 5.3 patch 5. Upgrade your ACS 5.x or use RADIUS for authentication Proxy.

    Your license allows you to have the software enabled on both machines at any time.  If you need to have on another you would need to disable one of the two machines before you activate the new installation.

    Support for the Nikon D750 was introduced in the last version of LR 5.7 and ACR 8.7 Novemder 18 2014.

    New updates for LR 4 were arrested when LR 5 was released on June 9, 2013. No other updates of bug fixes and new camera support.

    Nada, LR 4 will never support Nikon D750. The Nikon D750 was introduced on the market in September 2014 some 15 months after further development of LR 4 was arrested.

    You can use the Adobe DNG (free download for packing) program to convert your Nikon D750 Nef (raw) files in Adobe's DNG format which will allow you to import those into LR 4. This is the crutch provided by Adobe to allow the processing of raw files with versions out-of-date LR and ACR.

    You can also update the ACR for PS CS6 version 8.7 plugin that can also work with the raw files of the D750. For direct support in Lightroom, you will need to upgrade (paying) to version 5.7.
