Windows 98SE, wireless connection works very well and I was able to access the internet through my SMC Barricade router.
But on Windows 2000, this no longer works.
The connection to the router is ok, but I am unable to connect to the internet or to the page web administration of the router.
The Toshiba Wireless Client Manager provides the following information:

    Turn off the virtual machine

    Take snpshot

increase the number of cpu 2 to 4

increase of 2 to 4 GB memory

    Start the virtual machine

Check Device Manager to make sure that the additional processors are visible

Check the additional memory is visible

    Hello

I did this operation, hundreds of times, no problems at all. Problem may occur when you reduce several CPU single-processor. Going from simple to several CPU no problem at all. Of course good to have a clone\snapsot of virtual machine before you make any change :-)

  • Realtek Fast Ethernet Controller RTL8139 works do not under Windows 7.

I have a problem getting my Realtek Fast Ethernet RTL8139 controller working under Windows 7. During my first installation of windows, in which the controller was visible device manager, I think to remember, but after the first reboot, it disappeared.
I have two controllers active ethernet in my system, the first one mentioned above and the second: Realtek RTL8168C (P) / 8111C (P) Family PCI - E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20) [on board].
Certainly, the controller who is not found is working because LEDS are light when I connect the card to a cable. The other computer that is connected to my PC even shows that a 100 Mbit connection has been created (with problems though). However, it is not possible to communicate.
I already tried to install the latest drivers from Realtek for Win7 page (dated on the 22.09.2009) but it did not help.

If you try to insert two cards at the same time that would be normal given that the card reader is bound to a single channel of USB. It all depends on how your computer has been configured when it was built.

If you remove the first card and insert another card it is possible that you are not just right-click on the map in file Explorer and ejecting the card before you remove them.

  • Tecra A8-185 - the update of the BIOS under Windows 7?

    Hi again,

I have a question how update of the BIOS under Windows 7 ultimate x 64. I downloaded the latest version of the BIOS for my laptop (Toshiba Tecra A8-185 PTA83E). After having unpacked there is only the .exe file.

When I try to run this file, he said, that my OS is not supported. When I run it in compatibility mode (with Vista or XP), it starts the upgrade, but gives me an error: "the BIOS upgrade is failure (8). BIOS is not able on this configuration. "What should I do? I really need a new BIOS.

Can I run it at the start of the USB key, or whatever?

    Hi offi55

Why do you need a new BIOS? You may notice some problems with the laptop or why are you trying to update?

However, I think that the update should only be done on the pre-installed Windows version (XP or Vista). I guess that this update n t tested and designed to update Windows 7 so I think that would be the reason why you can t.

So to install Windows from the Toshiba Recovery disk and try to update again. It should work.

  • Photosmart 8450: Does the Photosmart 8450 under Windows 7 64-bit card reader work?

Under Windows XP 32 bit card on my Photosmart 8450 network reader appeared as a network drive in Windows Explorer. Now that I've migrated to Windows 7 64 bit I get no network drive and if I put an SD card in the drive I get a 'map' mistake of access on the display panel. It is to be expected with the built-in drivers for Win 7? If so, is there no work around?

    Hello

Thanks for the reply and sorry for not getting back sooner. Been strongly concerned about the end.

I just find the solution to both problems.

    1. the card reader does not accept SD - HC cards. When I put an ordinary SD it worked fine.

2 network drive mapping could not find the printer, even if I can print to it without any problems. I had recently also changed the router and discovered that the IP assigned to the printer was within the range of IP addresses assigned by DHCP. Changed static address to + 1.  Still did not work; posted in printer address was unidentifiable. Sitched printer, pulled ethernet cable outlet, turned on, plugged the ethernet cable. Bingo! The network drive works now.

    Hi Paul,.

This article was created when users have faced problem with old drivers for AMD graphics card.

Yes, you can upgrade to the last 16.1 pilots and who should work well however, you should have 1 GB VRAM or more to take advantage of the GPU processors.

  • Tecra S1 under Windows 2000 Professional external display problem

As I can't answer in the original thread (1831), because it is locked, I put here my answer to the answer of the Quad.

Quad first wanted to know if we have installed the Tecra S1 on a recovery CD.

No, we do not have. We have created an image that consists of an unattended installation. It is installed from a Windows 2000 RIS server.

Quad also said that the Fn + F5 is enabled after the installation of the utility Hotkey for display devices.

We downloaded the hotkey utility, but when we tried to install it we got the error message you "Driver not found" and suspended installation. We have installed as a user with administrator privileges.

We do something wrong, or this utility owes something to be installed as well?

    Kind regards

    Hi again Mr. Hofman,

First of all I must tell you that this is a typical problem. AFAIK Tecra S1 comes with the Professional Windows XP Home edition and optionally with W2000 professional. This two OS has been tested and Toshiba offers all drivers and tools to Toshiba download website.

It will be interesting how you created this image. What was the basis for this image? You are installed to the first completely Tecra and after created image?

Have you had problems before the creation of the image?

  • Tecra 9000: SD card reader does not work with XP

I've made some progress on this issue, it seems that Cardbus devices cannot share IRQS, although the main problem is that FFDFB200-FFDFB3FF memory address is shared by the SD card controller and device memory SD card. Unless we find a way to edit the registry to resolve this conflict of memory, the simple answer is that the SD card reader does not work under XP.

I think that it would take a major surgery of the register or re-writing of drivers to move the address of memory used by the SD card device, I always work on this for now.

Can someone support Toshiba or Toshiba Marketing explain to me why my Tecra T9100 has a "Designed for Windows XP and Windows 2000" sticker on it, when Toshiba does fully support XP on the 9000 series?

    David

    [Edited by: admin]

    Hi David

Unfortunately, I n t think that you will find here a Toshiba marketing person or other departments. It is ONLY a user to user forum.

What you say, it is simply NOT true.

The Tecra 9000 was delivered with 3 different OS.
It was delivered with Windows XP Pro, W2k and Win98. You can order all the images of this Toshiba home Toshiba service partner. That's why Tecra 9000 does support Windows XP!
Tecra 9100 has been bundled with Windows XP and Windows 2000 and also supports Windows XP!

Of course, there are different models with a different hardware configuration, but all supports Windows XP.

I put t know why you get this error message or why you cannot use the SD card, but I guess you don t use the image of Toshiba. That's why you installed your operating system isn't properly. Because you are a newbie you don t know the Toshiba all the driver installation must be done in the right order and all Microsoft QFEs must be installed also.

As you can see you must pay attention to many important things if you want to manually install the operating system.

    Good day

  • In my Tecra M9 SD card reader does not?

    Hi all

    I am running XP SP3 on a Tecra M9 - 12 s.
If I put my card (1 GB) or SDHC (4 GB) in the SD, the small SD drive blinking momentarily, then nothing.

If I run the Toshiba SD format utility, it lists no drive in the drop-down menu.

The Device Manager has in there (v6.0.4069.5) SD host controller driver.
In Device Manager, when I put an SD card in the slot, a "Secure Digital Storage Device" appears under disk drives, but he got the yellow exclamation mark on it.

BIOS of the machine is the last - 1.90.

Tried to fix this for a while now and have sought help, no joy.
    Any ideas?
All services that need to run I could have stopped, or things on startup (ie. msconfig)?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

Well, the SD card reader can handle only SD up to 2 GB and SDHC up to 4GB card.

After having inserted the SD card I recommend to format using the Toshiba SD memory card formatting utility. This software must be preinstalled on your laptop.

You also said that the SD host controller driver is the v6.0.4069.5.
On the European driver Toshiba page, I see the Controller Card Reader driver v1.1.4.2

Maybe you need to update the driver and should check card again player features!

    Good bye

  • Tecra R10 - 10J - card reader does nothing

    Hello world

I have a tecra R10 - 10 days with a Windows 7 32 bit installed. I installed the latest driver for the card reader (ricoh driver for Windows 7 32 bit). In my admin panel, it says that the SD reader is correctly installed.

When I insert an SD (standard SD or SDHC) card it does nothing. I mean it doesn 't create a new icon in the control panel of my computer. I checked the battery management. The controller card is 'activated '. I also have the latest bios for TECRA R-10 10J.

    Any help?

    Hello

Which cards you are trying to insert? I have good experiences with SanDisk SD and SDHC cards. For my camera, I use San Disk Extreme III SDHC card. A high quality map which s and never had any problems with it.

Also have you checked Windows Disk Manager? Maybe the card appears in the list but not also formatted.

    Hello

It's an odd question since this machine with this operating system is REALLY REALLY REALLY old. If you do not want to use a printer of opportunity then I suggest to H.P. older deskjet series (e.g. 870 C or 870Cxi] I had a few years ago, the 800 series with a parallel port on a Tecra 8100 with then first and went from Windows 98 to Windows 2000. It works perfectly under the two systems.

Hope that helps a little... :)
