Tecra M2: Format SD card

Hello

Does anyone know if there are size restrictions on the SD card that can be used with a laptop Tecra M2? I am currently using a 512 MB card but want to upgrade to a 2 GB card.

Thank you very much

Great info... Thanks Robin

  • Portege M300: Format SD card - 1 GB instead of 2 GB problem

    Hello

I used the "SD memory card Format" preinstalled on my Portege M300 laptop utility to format a 2 GB SD card (in accordance with the recommendation of Toshiba). The operation was succsesful, but the card cannot be read (he seems to have a RAW file system). In addition, try to put a FAT or FAT32 partition using the windows format utility results in partition of 1 GB instead of 2 GB!

The card had a 2 GB FAT partition and has worked flawlessly before using the Toshiba utility. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Can I do to restore the original capacity is the card?

    Thank you

    Hello

Are you sure it's a SD and MMC card as one not another, for example at 100%?
The Toshiba utility supports only SD cards!
How format you the SD card?
As far as I know, there are two different format options:
Quick format - only deletes the directory structure
Full size SD card, everything will be deleted
This utility formats SD to the SD format memory card.

The other possibility is that you have used the Toshiba SD memory Boot utility
It is a utility that can create a map of SD memory on a startup disk. As far as I know that use the RAW file system.

  • format memory card error

My operating system is Windows Xp. When I format my memory card, they say that windows could not complete the format, what is the solution for this?

    Hi naveenmothe89,

Welcome to Microsoft communities. According to the description of the problem, you are not able to format the memory card.

    ·         You get the error message?

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    ·         The question is limited to this device?

I suggest you to format the card from disk management. Follow these steps:

    (a) click Start and select Control Panel.

    (b) click on Administrative Tools and then click computer management.

    (c) click on disk management and find the device in the viewer of the reader.

    (d) right click on the drive and select format.

I hope this helps. Let us know if you need more assistance.

    Thank you.

  • format sd card

try to format the sd card. Keeps coming up that it is write protected. How can I change so that I can use it.

try to format the sd card. Keeps coming up that it is write protected. How can I change so that I can use it.

    Hi, Junewatt71,

Write average protected data cannot be erased or deleted from the map.

Look on the side of the card.  You see a switch?

    Slide to unlock

If you have a Micro SD card, put it in an SD adapter. Slide the switch on the adapter upwards to unlock.

Now, try to format the card

Be sure to select Fat32 when asked what you want to format.

  • Format SD Card for Kodak 740

    Camera says card not formatted.

If the camera cannot format the card and your computer does not have a slot for SD card, you need a USB SD Card device that can both raad of and write on SD cards.  Then insert the SD card into the device and it should appear in the start menu / control Panel / administrative tools / computer management / disk management where you should be able to select and format.  I contact Kodak and ask them why they deliver unformatted SD cards and how they recommend that apply you formatting (just to be sure that they do not have a simpler way with maybe a download of theirsite or something like that).

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Formatting expansion card

I have a Tungsten E2, I recently bought an expansion card 1 GB kingston, my problem is when I try to format the card, that it requires a new name of the card, and when I enter a name, it says "INVALID VOLUME NAME" the fact that someone knows how can I fix this?

Have you tried a Soft Reset to clear any 'cobwebs '?

You can also put the card in a card reader, but you will need to manually add the folders which creates Palm devices during the formatting process:

    / Audio

    / DCIM

    / Palm/Launcher

  • Satellite 2450-201: impossible to format SD card 4 GB card

    Hello

IA´m an owner of Satellite 2450-201 and I have a big problem.
I just bought a 4 GB SD memory card and Nice, it adapts to the side slot on my laptop.

This is the first time using the memory card, so a needs-to-format window appears when I try to access.

The window has the right information: 3.78 GB, Fat32,...

I click 'OK' and informs the Windows (XP SP2): impossible to complete format (here is Portuguese, then it is translated into English)

If the correct size is informed, 3.78 GB, why windows can't format it?

My laptop is virus and spyware free (only 23 spots in the running and supervision), I have SP2, Bios (most recent) 1.50, SD my controller drivers is up to date (the last and the only one that was released in 2003).

Also tried third party "Panasonic SDFormatter 2.0". He reports the (physical) unit or the mem SD stick is not compatible with the program. And the same effect occurs: the Sd device lost the nice icon and I need to remove/insert the SD card to see again the same story.

    Help me please, friends.

    Hello

It of very strange that you re possible to see the plugin SD card. Some people suggested that this SD card supports only 256MB, 512 MB cards and more with no MMC support.

I put t know if you have a format utility Toshiba SD card installed on the laptop, but on many notebooks of utility such Tosh is preinstalled and could be used for formatting of the card.

According to some poster in this forum the Portege M400 utility format could handle 2 GB, but not sure about 4 GB SD cards.
If possible, you can try to install this utility on your laptop, but you know you don't have much chance that it works.

I think that in this case only an external SD card reader will help you.

  • Tecra M5 NVS graphics card adapter

    Hello

My question is simple: can I change my Tecra (NVS 110) with an another NVS graphics card?
    If "Yes" how?

    Any help will be apreciated.

    M

No, you can not replace or upgrade of the chip of the graphics card.
This is not possible because the graphics card chips are not extensible parts.

You should check the FAQ here box in the forum.
I found here a nice article that explains it.

The technology of the laptop is simply different and in most cases only the common areas like RAM or HARD drive can be improved.

    Cheers mate

    Thank you
    Maïwenn

    Hello

As much as I know this notebook applies to a graphics card nVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 with 32 MB or 64 MB of video ram. But you cannot upgrade the video card or the speed of the CPU. The only thing you can do is buy devices such as hard disks in option or memory Modules.
For more information, you can try to contact the service partner.

    Good bye

  • Inserted of Toshiba Recovery Media formatted SD card

How stupid can be the Toshiba Recovery Media software guy?

    1. I went to use this software to create an image of my Toshiba for safety;
    2. in the options the software had chosen USB flash that I just assumed to be the USB flash 32 GB I inserted the USB door.
3 - the software formatted my SD card internal instead of my USB 32 GB flash.

    Conclusion:
All my work and emails from last month, completely lost, stupid can be the developers of this software, to format my USB instead, it formatted my SD card internal?

Looks like a software bug, and if all goes well it will be resolved by the update

  • Tecra A9 - formatted and now will not start

I recently formatted my Tecra A9.
Trying to remember exactly what I did.

I used the system recovery disk, went to the Recovery Wizard. Then I had a few options, and I took the low that was to erase all data from the hard drive. It took about 12 hours.

Now, my laptop does not recognize the system, my Vista Ultimate o/s disk recovery disk or my drive of Windows XP o/s. I also can't get into the BIOS.

When I turn on the laptop I get the Toshiba screen, where, at the bottom, I see the following icons: disc, usb, CD, floppy, network. Boot order, I guess. When this screen disappears, I get a black screen saying: "insert the disk in the drive system. Press any key when ready... »

I hope somenoe could get an idea of what I can do.

    Thank you
    Kurt

Hi all. I had a very difficult time to find out who the current key was to get to the BIOS. I thought it was DEL or F5 or F8, (based on the messages that I had found in various forums, I could find nothing in the actual documentation of Toshiba). It turns out that the access key is ESC. I went, changed the boot order and am trying to install Windows 7.
