There is no registration for my memory card reader in Device Manager. The card reader does not work. SD card works in my other PC. Tried to download the Driver Ricoh Media Card Reader suggested by HP Support, with no results. It's as if there is no such thing as the card reader. Is there a way to shake the player in a localizable device? Or is it dead material?

    Hello:

If there is that no device Base system not listed in Device Manager in need of drivers, then the unit is completely dead/disconnected from the motherboard.

I'm not a PC repair in commerce or training technology, and there are no diagrams of the motherboard I know to see how the circuit card reader is attached to the Board of Directors.

If you look at Chapter 4, pp 93-94's service manual, it seems that you can replace all separately.

  • Tecra 9100: No sound and unknown device

I have the laptop above and have recently flattened and reinstalled Windows XP pro. I have no sound, I have a speaker in my sys tray, Device Manager detects the card Intel (r) 82801 CA/Cam AC'97 Audio Controller, after I installed the RealTek AC 97 drivers. I plugged in the headphones to make sure that this is not not the speakers who have blown. But still no sound. All volumes are turned upward and the volume on the front wheel is set in the middle. In sounds and audio in the Control Panel, all volumes are increasing and the speakers are set to portable stereo speakers.

I have a unknown devices in Device Manager States location is a system compatible ACPI Microsoft from what I see on Google it's something to do with the battery. Once again any ideas?

    Thank you

I know that your laptop. It s a Tecra 9100 and this laptop supports a Yamaha YMF753 - stereo 16-bit Sound Blaster Pro compatible sound card.

The problem is the XP SP1 or SP2. The audio driver of Yamaha does not support SP1.
Seems that you need to update the audio driver.

    I have a problem with my new A9 - 51G

It came with windows vista professional, but I was in XP Pro...

All right, but the sound card does not work...

I installed the drivers for XP, but after booting it says that this sound card is not supported...

    What could be the problem?

    Thank you...

    Hello

You should try to install the audio driver from the Realtek site. But the audio driver from the Toshiba site works generally.

Please note; Windows XP is up to date! All the service packs and all MS patches and hotfixes must be installed.
I had a similar problem with my laptop and MS fixed the noise issue updates.

Visit the MS site and install all important fixes. Notes; Sometimes you gotta restart the computer several times to get all the patches!

  • No Audio output device is installed and no "Sounds" not listed in Device Manager.

I turned on the computer yesterday and immediately noticed the Red "x" of white/circle on the "speaker" icon. Roll the cursor over the icon gives me the message "no Audio output device installed. I have already read through the forums and tried some of the suggestions offered without result. Here's a quick deterioration of the situation. I am running Windows Vista Edition Home Premium service pack 2 on a Dell Dimension DM061 (32 bit). No updates have been downloaded and the system was not put into hibernation. I tried restoring the system without result. The Device Manager shows not yet "Sound, video and game controllers" to watch the drivers or disable them. Hello

I was hoping that the main issue was in the BIOS but it is also why I posted links to Dell
Support and their forums because he may be known issues with your model.

Check this click - Device Manager - anywhere in the area in white/white - and then VIEW - chech to see the
Hidden - devices you can locate the audio device it?

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

    If necessary:

Try an InPlace upgrade or repair Installation to see if your audio device can be reset.
If so it would probably be a good idea to update or re - install the latest drivers.

  • Tecra 9100 - W-LAN-Mini-PCI-card upgrade

    Hello everyone,

    I ve got a with the W-LAN-onboard Tecra 9100 working doesn´t.
    Instead of repairing the old W - Lan Mini-PCI-card I want to move to a new standard (802. 11 b / g with 108 Mbit/s max) Mini-PCI card.

I prefer the mini Notebook-WLAN-Gigabyte GN-WIAG02 PCI adapter.

Is it possible to chance the card built into the Gigabyte card?

    Hello

It s nice that you want to upgrade your wireless mini-pci network card. But I suggest you rather a card with an Atheros chipset. The best choice is perhaps a card with a Chipset of Atheros 5005GS since I upgraded my Tecra 9100 with this card and it works like charm. (and not so expensive as other s cards)

To swap the card, you must remove the plastic cover of the keyboard and unscrew the two screws in order to release the keyboard.
After removing the keyboard, you will find an aluminum side cover left which is set with a special torx screws. The best would be to get these torx screwdriver to loosen this bolt and remove the cover.
After removal, you will see the map with the cables that lead to the antenna. (One white and one black) Be very CAREFUL when remove the Connector cables, because if damage you one of the cable connectors there is no return since the cables are cables "Mini-coax" and cannot be "connected."

I warn you, just do it if you're really sure and if you know what you're doing, because I won't take any responsibility if damage you something on your machine. Otherwise, I wish good luck and would appreciate some comments on your success.

    See you soon

  • Problems of its Tecra 9100

I have reviewed all 54 pages of messages of the Forum TE and Tecra here and found only one that relates directly to the issue I'm having. He titled "Tecra 9100 major sound issues" and has been locked, unaswered with the last post on 21 July with some response on the use of a new pilot.

    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=13809

I recently bought two used Tecra 9100 (guarantee is expired, unfortunately) and they are both in great shape. I couldn't be happier with them, but alas, the sound came out on one. I checked through all the General solutions, Device Manager, reinstall drivers, purchase new sound card on eBay, test with a sound card in the other system of work...

I tested the drive with a 16 MB SD card and a 1 GB card, of which none were detected (even though I updated the driver for that also).

Installing the driver for the card his Yamaha returns a warning message telling me that "the driver has been installed not."

I cleaned all contacts with alcohol and q-tips several times.

There is no device not recognized in Device Manager.
The OS is a new installation.
The BIOS is updated to the latest version (ver 1.60).

If there is someone tha can you please help me to diagnose more this problem I would be very grateful.
    Thanks to a bouquet.

    Hello

According to your link that you have posted, the detachment was answered.
The noise problem was caused by the installation of SP1.
However, you have bought a second hand units and changed the cards his etc.
Sorry, but no one knows what you have done on your laptop.
I found that this unit has been delivered with a YAMAHA YMF753 sound chip.

In addition, the SD card slot supports are not all sizes of SD card.
Additional it doesn t support MMC and SD-card/o

  • WLAN on Tecra 9100 - LED should go orange if the s/w keyboard shortcut NOT installed?

I bought a Tecra 9100 that had been restored to XP SP1 and without good Toshiba utilities that most drivers seemed to be OK - for example screen OK but USB has been 1.1 until I added the Intel Chipset drivers.

I can't get the WLAN card to work by sliding the switch (close microphone) - also, it does NOT appear in Device Manager. I spotted a post below (which was locked) where Pedro said WiFi hotkey software must be installed to make it work. Two questions:

1 if the s/w keyboard shortcut IS NOT installed should always be able to mount the light Orange / appear in Device Manager
    2. is there an alternate download site because I tried 20 times in the last 15 hours at: http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/cmod-en-20070925121500.zip (for the common modules) and the site just seems to be 'dead' - nothing is received at all

Thank you very much in advance - I want to become a happy member of Tosh' club... Cheers, Brian R.

PS; The Tecra has a WiFi tag on the bottom and even a MAC address and I have not yet looked for nothing changed so much material.

    Pedro post follows:
    + Hello +.

+ Is the map original WLAN or you have upgraded on your own? What is with Device Manager, this is the card of wireless network which are listed there? +

+ For the use of WLAN, there are few requirements: +.
+ WLAN switch must not be broken or defective.
+ Wireless network card must be compatible one.
+ The WLAN antenna must be connected correctly.
+ Wireless network card must be installed properly (the right driver must be installed) +.
+ Wireless network card must be enabled in the Device Manager.
+ Wireless network card must be activated using the FN + F8 key combination (Wireless Hotkey V2.0.0.1 must be preinstalled) +.

    (1) first you should check if there is a yellow exclamation (unknown device) in device under network adapter Manager.
If you find any unknown devices in the network adapter section then your laptop was not equipped with WLan minPCI card!
The shortcut key has nothing to do with the WLan card status in Device Manager! The keyboard shortcut software only controls the function FN + F8.

    (2) don t know what you mean! The functions of link!
